  • Adobe Download site not working

I purchased Acrobat Pro via the subscription service. I have 6mb of download and it is working, but, I can't download your software.  After 2 hours, it was less than 10% and then windows timed out the download.  What is going on with your bandwidth that we can't download?  Also, because I have tried restarting it 1.5 hours ago (and it is still less than 10%) will I lose the ability to make my 2nd installation?

    Hi Aaron,
Please check the firewall or the Antivirus software you have that might be interfering with the download.
Try using a different browser to download and connect to a different network and check as that would help isolate the issue.
The download servers are perfectly alright as I am able to download it at my end.
Alternatively you might want to download the software from the direct download links available at: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/troubleshoot-acrobat-pdfmaker-problems-office.html

  • Unable to find Adobe PDF resource files on Acrobat X Pro

I have a Windows 7 32-bit machine that receives the following error when attempting to create a PDF from Microsoft Office Word 2010: "Unable to find "Adobe PDF" resource files. "Acrobat PDFMaker" You must have Administrator priveleges to install these files. Please contact your local systems administrator" The user is a local administrator. Note: This does NOT happen on Excel 2010, only Word.
I've tried uninstalling and re-installing Acrobat Pro, running the installer in safe mode from the default local administrator account, printing directly to the PDF printer and following several other suggestions from similar threads.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • Acrobat X & XI add-in Word 2010 32-bit cause macro error messages

When I enable Acrobat COM add-in in Word 2010 32-bit, when I close Word and re-open Word, I receive the following
This dialog screen pops up three consecutive times after I click on "OK" three consecutive instances.
The add-in works great in Outlook 2010, Excel 2010, but not in Word 2010.  I manually installed the Trusted Pulisher Certificate for the add-in the the Trusted Publisher store as shown with no success either.
I went to Word options to the Trust Center and enabled anything pertaining  to macros or scripts and still was NOT successful.  This worked at one time before, prior to Office 2010 updates from Microsoft.  I suspect a Microsoft update may have broken this add-in and may require Adobe to put out an update to fix this.  This worked in January 2013 thru Feb 2013 but now fails with Microsoft Office updates after March 2013.
    Any help would be appreciated!

    Hi Gordon,
Please let me know if you are facing this issue with every PPT file or any specific one.
Could you find Acrobat ribbon in the menu bar? What happens when using this option?
Also, please refer the KB link and try out troubleshooting PDFMaker problems whose link is given as follows:
    https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/troubleshoot-acrobat-pdfmaker-problems-office.html
In addition, please check if Adobe PDF printer is set as default printer under 'Start> Devices and Printers'
If yes, then right click on the ppt file icon and choose 'Convert to Adobe PDF' from the context menu.
Please check and then let me know.

  • Acrobat 11 & Office 2013

I have acrobat 11 and I just installed office 2013 but can't see the ribbon in my office products? I just reloaded Acrobat 11 - still nothing

The repair would hopefully add the PDF Maker to WORD if it is missing. One link to problems is given by http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/troubleshoot-acrobat-pdfmaker-problems-office.html. Is the OFFICE 2013 a 64-bit version? That was another problem that occurred for folks, but I thought was fixed with the first update. I was trying to check about the possibility of PDF Maker not being part of AA XI Std if that was the version you had. I did not find an issue related to Std.
Have you checked the OFFICE add-ins (as MS calls them)? In my WORD, it shows up in the File>Options menu as I recall the last time I checked (no WORD on this machine). You need to be sure that Acrobat is an enabled application. I have had a similar problem on a WIn7, 64-bit, system with OFFICE 2010, but have no had time to trouble shoot that one.

  • Acrobat 9 PDFMAKER for Word - Relative Hyperlink problem

In the past I have successfully use Acrobat Standard 6 PDFMAKER with Word 2003 to preate PDF files with relative hyperlinks. I have a large massively hyperlinked PDF document collection which I distribute on DVD and hence need relative hyperlinks because people's DVD drives have different drive letters. The PDF links produced by Acrobat 6 PDFMAKER have only a single "F" entry in the CosDict and that entry is the desired relative path. The PDF files I make are PDF 1.4. These work with Adobe reader.
Acrobat 9's PDFMAKER for Word 2007 appears to be unable to produce PDF 1.4 files with relative hyperlinks that work in Adobe Reader. I get PDF files with Annot entries containing a correct "F" entry with a relative path, BUT there is also a UF entry with an absolute path. I have reported this as a bug because it appears to me that the PDF spec says the UF field is a PDF 1.7 feature. I'm speculating that the presence of this undesired absolute path in the UF field of the Annot object is why Adobe Reader (and Foxit Reader) won't follow the hyperlinks as relative paths. Foxit complains about not finding the absolute path.
Is there a way to coerce Acrobat 9's PDFMAKER to produce truly relative hyperlinks from Word 2007? Am I wrong is diagnosing the problem? I am using Acrobat 9.4.2. Is there a newer version that has fix this problem?
Any suggestions for how to produce PDF files with functional relative hyperlinks from Word 2007 would be appreciated. Since my document collection is very large (1000,'s of files in a directory tree) I'd like to be able to automate this. I have successfully written VB script code to automate running PDFMAKER but the relative vs absolute hyperlink problem persists whether I make the files one at a time from Word or in a batch from VB.

I don't believe Word 2000 is supported by Acrobat 9

  • How to fix a font encoding problem in PDFMaker for Word?

I've just been upgraded to a new computer at work, and I'm finding that a custom font I need is not appearing correctly in PDFs I create using the PDFMaker plugin for Word.
The font (Helvetica Fraction) is a Type 1 font with a custom encoding scheme. If I just print to the PDF driver, then look at the font embedding in the resulting PDF, Helvetica Fraction is listed as Type 1, Custom Encoding, and text set in Helvetica Fraction appears correctly.
If I use the PDFMaker plug-in to create a PDF from the same document and then examine the embedding, Helvetica Fraction is shown as Type 1 (CID) with an encoding of Identity-H. In this case, text set in Helvetica Fraction does not appear. There is text in those places, but if I try to highlight it and copy it over the Clipboard on my computer, all I get is strings of capital Zs.
So far, I've tried removing unneeded fonts from my system, clearing my font cache, setting different joboptions files in PDFMaker, reducing the output resolution to 600 dpi, and turning off as many advanced options as possible. Any additional recommendations?
My current setup: Office 2007, Acrobat 9, Windows 7.
    Thanks!
    -- Brian M.

I normally leave the "rely on system fonts" checkbox on. When I look at a Word document that's experiencing this problem, Word is not substituting another font for Helvetica Fraction.
Meanwhile, I've also purchased an updated copy of the font, which did not help either.

  • Problem converting Publisher 2007 files with PDFMaker

    Hi all
I hope someone can help me.
I am a technician at a large company and we recently upgraded a users PC to Vista Business (32 bit) from XP Pro.
Since this was done, the user has a problem with Publisher files on Office 2007.
When trying to convert the files using Adobe Acrobat Standard 9 with the PDFMaker plug-in on Publisher, it spools the file to the AdobePDF printer and the job then disappears from the printer but the converting bit just hangs at 60% and Publisher 2007 freezes up and Acrobat is not launched showing the converted publisher file.
This is only happening when converting Publisher files. Word Excel etc are working fine.
When logged in as administrator, it works perfectly. The converted publisher file spools to the AdobePDF printer, disappears from the queue and Acrobat Standard 9 is launched showing the publisher document as a PDF file. Giving the user administrator rights is not an option. This apparently worked perfectly for the user when his machine OS was XP Pro using Office 2007 and Acrobat Standard 9.
I have tried a repair of Office, a repair and then a complete uninstall and reinstall of Abobe Standard 9. Also given the user full control of the Adobe folders but the same thing happens with the Publisher conversions.
    Any ideas?
    James

    Hi,
As the event log indicated, this is due to acrobat pdfmaker office com addin doesn't work well with Microsoft Word.
I would suggest you go ahead and try to upgrade your Adobe product to the latest version and see if issue persists.
Or contact the support of Adobe and see if there is a known compatibility issue or not.

  • PDFMaker font problem

Can anyone offer any advice on how to debug a font problem?
I am using a (shareware) symbol font on my Windows XP system. It works great in FrameMaker, and comes out perfectly in Frame-generated PDF files.
Unfortunately, I also have to convert Excel spreadsheets to PDF, using the same font. When I generated those PDF files with PDFMaker, the font characters all show as little squares. I checked MS Word as well, and it has the same issue.
I've checked the font properties in the generated file using the TouchUp Text tool in Acrobat - the font is recognised and embedded. If I try to make changes, I get this error message:
"Some of the characters in the current font are not available, the missing characters will be replaced by place holder characters (maybe dots '.').
"A work around to this is to select another font which contains the characters in the TouchUp Properties dialog.
    "Proceed with replacement?"
I'm using Office 2007 under Windows XP Professional. The font is shareware and unsupported. I'd bet my bottom dollar that the problem isn't in PDFMaker, but I don't know a whole lot about fonts, and I'm not sure how to debug this.
    Can anyone offer any advice?

If you go to the general tab in the Adobe PDF printer properties, there is a button for printing preferences. Select that and go to the Adobe PDF Settings tab. There should be a check box for leaving the log file intact there. You can also simply print to the Adobe PDF printer with print to file selected. Then open the file in Distiller and watch the messages created (these steps are automated if you do not print to file).
You can also check the fonts in the PDF (use ctrl-D, font tab). If they are embedded, that information is stated in parentheses. If there is no statement of embedding, then it did not get done. That is not necessarily an error if the job settings are not set to embed the font.
