Performance and agent scheduler agent - help

Hi,
I am facing two problems
1. Performance issue - I am trandferring data from SQL SERVER to ESSBASE using LKM SQL to SQL and IKM SQL to ESSBASE(data). The interface takes more than 15 min for 2000 records. Is there any options to improve the performance or shud I use any other KM
Note: Essbase and SQL SERVER are in different servers.
2. I created agent scheduler as service in windows server. But while starting the service it says" ERROR 1067 : The process terminated unexpectedly"

Actually, I have several steps:
1. odifilewait moves the file test_SEQ.xml from the computer on the network to folder A.
2. odifilecopy - copy file test_SEQ.xml to folder B - this is the folder where the xml source file is defined in topology manager (test.xml).
3. odifilewait - moves (renames) the file from test_SEQ.xml to test.xml in folder B.
4. odi processed test.xml
5. odifilemove - moves test_SEQ.xml from A to folder C
6. odifiledelete - deletes test.xml from folder B.
The agent has administrator rights.

Agent scheduler issue

Hi guys,
I have the following situation:
I've created a package which picks up a xml file from a computer on the network, moves it to my local machine, processes the data in it and then writes some data in a (Oracle) DB.
When I try to run the package using an agent (scheduler agent), it works fine the first time, but the second time and further on, it moves the files, but it processes and writes to DB the same data as it did the first time. It's like it doesn't "refresh" the data, it doesn't read anymore from the files. It uses the data it read from the xml file the first time.
If I restart the agent, it works fine again for the first time, then the problem repeats.
When I run the package without the agent (Local), it works fine no matter how many files I process.
Any suggestions?

Reporting Agent and Download Scheduler

Hello All,
    I have an issue with the Reporting Agent and Download scheduler. I am on BW 3.5. I am not familiar with the setup myself (I inherited it), and I would like some basic information.
   Essentially it was working fine until we added some new settings. Now, the Download Scheduler freezes mid-run - just stops - and I am guessing this has to do with the new settings that were created (not by me - again, I just inherited all this).
   Any help, suggestions, links to white papers (Google was NOT helpful) anything at all on this ancient technology would be appreciated.

I just wonder why agent scheduler did not run during SAT and SUN?

I just set agent scheduler to run on daily mode but past 2 days which are Saturday and Sunday. It did NOT run. I just see that there is a Weekly mode to check from Monday to Sunday so meaning that I need to use Weekly mode instead, isn't it?? There is no explanation in product manual as well. Someone please help me for this case. Thank you so much in advance.

Please cross check the following things .
Did you selected any active period ?
Didi you selected any thing other than None execute once in execution cycle tab ?

I have OBIEE 11G.
I have an automated email bursting requirement.
The details are -
I have one Table of people's names, address, email id and personal details. These people are not intended to be OBIEE users.
It is a table with people's names and email id.
Using each person's id(Pri key), I want to create a personalized email message and send it out to the intended email.
Sample rows-
Name: Vikram, Address: 123 abc st, Email: [email protected]
Name: Ram, Address: 345 xyz st, Email: [email protected]
message would be

(I was thinking in terms of Triggers - & is there a way to use scripting for scheduling agents? command line?)

After much googling we've finally found a stable configuration.
java.args=-server -Xmx768m -Xss64k -Dsun.io.useCanonCaches=false -XX:MaxPermSize=512m -XX:+UseParallelGC -Dcoldfusion.rootDir={application.home}/ -verbose:gc -Xloggc:c:/Jrun4/logs/gc/gcInstance1b.log
I tried playing with the survivor ratio but came back to the default when I didn't notice much improvement. In the end what did it (pretty sure) is -Xss to reduce the requests size living on the stack. Our large initial heap, perm + overhead combined with the default request size was causing the JVM to go over and blow up I think.
We've been stable for over a month now, the next step for us is to reduce the MaxPermSize a little at a time to find our optimal range.

Cannot connect to Scheduler Agent, any one help me?

I had edited odiparams.bat and started a Scheduler Agent with agentscheduler.bat. I tested the agent with Topology Manager successfully.
However, when I created Scheduler Agent as Windows Service with agentservice.bat. The Topology Manager had no respondence when tested.

Scheduler Agent Installed as Service Encrypted Password Change

All,
We have a Scheduler Agent installed as a service in Windows Server 2003, SP2. We want to change the password of the Master Repository. When I change the ODI_SECU_ENCODED_PASS in the odiparams.bat file it doesn't reflect this change in the service. I tried looking around in the snpsagent.conf wrapper file to see if the password is stored anywhere but dont' see it. I see it references a file called snpparams.bat, unfortunately I cannot find this file on our machine. If anyone knows how to get the new password to take effect without having to drop the agent and recreate it, thus losing all schedules that we've created, I would greatly appreciate the help.

Hi Josh,
the snpparamens.bat is exactly the same of odiparameter.bat. It had this name when the software was Sunopsis (SNP). Probably you saw the reference at some old document...
If you drop the service nothing will be loose, just recreate it to get the new parameters. The scheduling list is stored, as everything in the ODI, at the repository, it means that all scheduling orders are at tables. Because of that you need to made a "update scheduler" when create a new scheduling.
If you are still afraid, just create a new agent at another port (as service) and change the logical agent to it. Update the scheduller list an take a look if everthing is OK.
After that you can drop the old service.

There is the scenario that users configured hundreds of subscriptions for reports. Now they want to disable all the subscriptions, but Reporting Services and SQL Server Agent service should be enable, so the subscriptions will not delivery reports to users
and users could run the reports and create jobs on the server.
Solution
To achieve this requirement, we need to list all subscriptions and their schedules by running query, then use loop statement to disable all the subscription schedules by Job name.
On the Start menu, point to All Programs, point to Microsoft SQL Server instance, and then click SQL Server Management Studio.
Type Server name and select Authentication, click Connect.
Click New Query in menu to open a new Query Editor window.
List all subscriptions and their schedules by running the following query:

CRM IC Webclient - Massive Performance Problems Searching in Agent Inbox

Hi Forum,
can somebody help me. We have massive Search Performance problems in Interaction Center Webclient in Agent Inbox. When agents searching, for example for open emails, the time to get a result takes approx. 2-3 minutes.
Thats absolute inadmissible and endangered the running business.
The queury reading the eMails from the workitem tables is very very slow.
Could somebody help me with ideas to solve this big performance problem. Have somebody the same problems?

Another aspect you could check is the following:
Analysis performed didn't show anything strange nor any high consumers
of the response time. The processing time occurs, since IC-Web on CRM 5
is a bit demanding for CPU power.
The only thing that could improve the performance a bit is the
<b>buffering of org structure</b>, which is currently switched off for
SALES and SERVICE scenarios as per table T77OMATTSC.
The report <b>HRBCI_ATTRIBUTES_BUFFER_UPDATE</b> is running regulary
however no scenario is being placed in the buffer to speed up
org structure read. Please check this and provide feedback.

Odi Jobs not getting triggered through Scheduler Agent

i have Scheduled jobs in odi using Scheduler agent but jobs doesn't get triggered even though my scheduler agent is up and running and i have updated scheduled plan also.

What is your OS and where exactly the ODI install ?
If it is in Windows the we need to check the .BAT file if it is in linux then we need to check the .SH file for Agent.

i can't launch a Scheduler Agent because i get an error when i launch it. Obviously, i also can't create a Physical Agent to use like Scheduler...
i go to the console and put

Hyper-V KVP and SCVMM Guest Agent?

We are running RHEL 6.5 and CentOS 6.5 as Hyper-V guests under Hyper-V 2012 R2 with System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2012 R2 U2. If we have the SCVMM agent 1.0.2.1014 installed, should we also install the Red Hat supplied Hyper-V Key Value Pair
(KVP) package (hypervkvpd.x86_64) via yum?
I've noticed that if neither the SCVMM guest services are installed nor the Hyper-V KVP, VMM reports that no guest services are installed. If just the Hyper-V KVP daemon is installed, guest services are reported as 3.1. If both the KVP daemon and the SCVMM
agent are installed, guest services are shown as simply detected.

"Before you can use Virtual Machine Manager (VMM) to manage a virtual machine with Linux as the guest operating system, you must install the VMM agent for Linux on that virtual machine. Use the following procedure to perform that task."
Did you try to only install agent then check if the guest service can be detected .
If not , I think you need to install them all .

It seems to be a connexion error but I have regenerate all the repository connexion information for OdiParams.bat and nothing change.

It may have something to do with
SNP_SECU_USER & SNP_SECU_ENCODED_PASS pointing to something other than the Master Repository schema.

The F type Workitem cannot be forwarded because it represents Workflow (Also Subworkflow) workitem Id.
You have to find out with workitem which has status W(Dialog Work Item; Represents a Single-Step Task) from SWWWIHEAD table and status should be in process and the TOP_WI_ID should be the value that you are trying to forward.

I tryed to create an scheduler agent as a Service Windows in using Agentservice.bat .
In my dev environment it works well.
But when I try in my Prod one I have the following error message :
FATAL | wrapper | The argument 'Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_13\bin\java.exe' is not a
valid property name-value pair.
The command I pass is the following :
cd C:\sunopsis\oracledi\bin
agentservice -i -s AGENT_SCHEDULER 20910
The Agent has been created in the Topology.
And when I launch it as a simple agent with the agentscheduler.bat it works fine
(agentscheduler "-port=20910" "-name=AGENT_SCHEDULER" "-v=5")
I don't understand....
If someone have an idea.

Arrrgh When I change the OdiParams putting quote.
I cannot execute anymore my scen...
I have try with quote and double quote and it's still the same result...
I will try to change the localisation of the JVM, but I would like to know where I will have to change the Path ???
In OdiParams.
In the definition of the Environment Variable in Windows ??
anywhere else ???
