Performance problem in transaction code IH08

Hi,
is there anyway to improve the performance of SAP standard tr code IH08 for display equipment.
is there any chance to create index for the same? please advise me.
Thanks
Shiva

Certainly... run ST05 to see what DB reads are performing slowly or have your DBAs look for you.
Once you identify what table(s) is performing badly, build a new index to match the SQL issued by the system.  This will allow SAP to access the data faster using this new index.

    hai guys,
I created report using tables like bsis,t001 etc,( tax report).
I have performance problem in this report.
COuld you pls tell me how to analyse the report and find out the place where process is taking more memory etc.
i did abap trace and runtime analysis..but could not find out exact point.
    how to do this..
i want to analysis each subroutine, internal table and query process.
could you pls give me some ideas.

There is an excellent tool available in SAP - <b>Code Inspector.
    </b>
    Transaction is SCII
Try the following link and I am sure you will find a bunch of useful documents.
    <a href="http://www.google.co.in/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=site%3Asdn.sap.comfiletype%3ApdfCode+Inspector&btnG=Search&meta=">ABAP Performance</a>
I use the Code Inspector to search for
    a) All the select statements which are present within the loop
    b) Nested Loops
    c) Select query without providing criteria for primary keys, depending upon situation
    d) Can the search be narrowed with extra conditions
    e) Using READ .. BINARY SEARCH if internal table has lots of records.
The list is actually endless, but this is something to start with.
You can actually have a checklist, and depending upon it, go through your code. The more you adhere to checklist, you will find that, the performance would dramatically improve.
Also use <b>ST05</b> transaction, for SQL Trace and find out which select query is taking the maximum time for response.

  • Performance problem with transaction log

We are having some performance problem in SAP – BW 3.5 system running on MS – SQL server 2000.The box is sized 63,574 MB. The transaction logs gets filled up after loading data in to a transactional cube or after doing selective deletion. The size of the transaction log is 7,587MB currently.
Basis team feels that when performing either loading or selective deletion, SQL server views it as a single transaction and doesn't commit until every record is written. And so as a result, transaction logs fills up ultimately bringing the system down.
The system log shows a DBIF error during the transaction log fill up as follows:
    Database error 9002 at COM
    > [9002] the log file for database 'BWP' is full. Back up the
    > Transaction log for the database to free up some log space.
Function COMMIT on connection R/3 failed
    Perform rollback
Can we make changes to Database to make commit action frequently? Is there any parameters we could change to reduce the packet size? Is there some setting to be changed in SQL server?
    Any Help will be appreciated.

if you have disk space avialable you can allocate more space to the transaction log.

  • Problem: Creating Transaction Codes

    Hi,
    I want to create a TN-Code for a ABAP Report,that is calling a RFC with a hardcoded RFC-Dest.
That's it, the report doesn't do any thing else.
I have to say that I created TN-Codes for ABAP Reports before. So I went to SE93 and made the Inputs as usual. But when I waat to save it I get the error "that I am not allowed to use Test-Objects in a foreign namespace". So I created a new package in se21.
Then I tried to save using the new package, but the error was still there.
So how can I create that TN?
    p.s.:
the code in the report is just:
    CALL FUNCTION xyz
    DESTINATION abc.

  • OG30 transaction code error

    Hi Guys/Experts,
We are currently having problem running transaction code OG30. It says "The maintenance dialog for  is incomplete or not defined". Tried searching, and someone said to call the transaction SE54. What does SE54 do? How do I able to access OG30 directly?
I'm just new to SAP. Anybody here would like to put me in the right direction?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Alvin

    Hi Alvin,
You can use the transaction OG30 if integration between OM and PA is not there.
If you want to use This transaction than in table T77S0 deactivate the integration between OM and PA in the integration Switch PLOGI ORGA .
This transaction is used when OM is not there in scope.

  • Problem while executing the transaction code FMBV (Reconstruct)

We are facing a problem while executing the transaction code FMBV
(Reconstruct Availability Control in Funds Management) in it when we
execute this transaction system only updates the expenditure which is
made before technical upgrade from 4.6c to ECC6 EHP6, against the
Assigned Budget (KBFC budget type) in the Annual Budget Table (BPJA)
    and
the expenditure which we made after the upgrade, the program just
    ignore
it. We can also see the expenditure in the standard FBL3N report.
    Please guide us.
    Thanks and Best Regards,

    Dear Abrar
In your description, you refer to missing update after an upgrade. First of all, see if table FMIT is consistent, as it is the basis for calculating the assigned values during AVC reconstruction.
    Refer to this note:
977016 FMIT: Missing totals records in Funds Management  And perform following steps:
    1.- Run program RGZZGLUX
2.- Run program RFFMRC04 to match totals table with line items. A test run after a successful effective run should not find inconsistencies.
3.- If RFFMRC04 does not show more inconsistencies, run FMBV as final step.
Note that this reconstruction must be done without any other budgeting/posting activities at the same time, otherwise you may cause  other inconsistencies.
Please let me know the results.
    Best regards,
977016 - FMIT: Missing totals records in Funds Management
    Symptom
After the upgrade to ERP 2004 or higher you realize that the FMIT totals table is no longer updated in Funds Management. You start the RFFMRC04 report to reconstruct the totals, but the report still displays the missing totals after an update run.
    Other Terms
    FMIT, EA-PS, ECC 5.00, ECC 6.00, ECC 7.00
    Reason and Prerequisites
This problem occurs due to a generation error.
    Solution
Start the RGZZGLUX report to generate missing source code in FI-SL. Then start the RFFMRC04 report to reconstruct the totals, now another run of the report should no longer display any errors.

    Hi All,
I am executing FS10N transaction code, in selection criteria for company code, I have selected multiple selection tab. Here in ranges tab, I have entered " 01 to 32" Company codes range. Then I am receiving the following message "ONLY SELECT COMPANY CODES WITH SAME FISCAL YEAR".
I am sure that all the selected comapny codes are having same fiscal year variant.
Please advise me what is the problem and what should I do to rectify it.

    Hi chandra,
This problem occur because you had been posted documents for some company code with another fiscal year variant and changed afterwards.
Enter in OBY6: Utilities - Changed logs - Display status.
You can display companies codes balances with same document posting period.

  • Local Class Transaction Code Problem

    Hi friends,
I have created report program using local class. I have also used selection screen to get input from user. I have created oops transaction code (using se93) for that program.
Problem is selection screen is not displayed when program is executed using tcode.
I think logically it not possibel to display the selection screen. Is it true?. OR
    What Should I do?.
Next Question is, I have also created  global class from my report program. But i cant able to find my class in se24.
    I have done following things.
      1) imported a local class from my report prg. ( In pop up screen that class icon(circle shaped icon) shown in gray colour)
      2) Assigend New class name starting with 'Z'.
      3) Selected overwrite existing class checkbok.
      4) selected import icon.
'Import Completed Succesfully' message appeared. Still i am not able to find my class.
         Kindly provide answers.
    Thanks In Advance,
    S.Senthil

    Hi senthil kumar ,
u can display the selection screen and secondly try to create your report in module pool type,
and when also check if the class is activated or not and then check in se24,
    if still the issue remains
    let me know...
    thanks

  • LSMW - Error BDC_INSERT, Transaction code .. is invalid XD01

    Dear all.
I have done the following Steps:
1 - Maintain Object Attributes. Chose the Object type Batch Recording, then created a Record using the name (CLI_PMR). And created the Batch record and then assign the fields name.
2 - Maintain Source Structures – Created the Struture (CLI_PMR1)
3 - Maintain Source Fields – Assign the fields name and length that I used in my program. (CLI_PMR1).
    4 - Maintain Structure Relations – Assign the Struture (CLI_PMR1 to CLI_PMR)
5 - Maintain Field Mapping and Conversion Rules – The normal thing in this point.
6 - Specify Files - Specified the Legacy Data, path for the file.
7 - Generate Read Program – Generated the Program.
8 – Read Data – Executed this Step and every thing is correct
9 - Generate Conversion Program – Generated the program
    10 - Convert Data – Convert data
11 - Display Converted Data – Every thing is fine, with no errors
12 - Create Batch Input Session- At this the error message appears Error BDC_INSERT, Transaction code .. is invalid  time.
At the time we have created other LSMW programs for this T-Code and every thing is OK.
    I'm using the T-CODE=XD01
    Best Regards
    Pedro Miguel Rodrigues

Hi, I had the same problem in LSMW when generating a batch input for trx IE01. The cause was that there were tab/newline-characters in my text file (some descriptions contained tab-characters). Since I used a tab delimited file, these tabs/newlines in the fields messed up my file.
The excel file contained multiple lines per cell in some description fields. When this was exported to tab delimited text, it contained additional tabs. After checking the contents and removing the tabs/newlines from Excel and performed a new export to txt-file, it was solved.

  • Performance problem

Hi, I'm having a performance problem I cannot solve, so I'm hoping anyone here has some advice.
Our system consists of a central database server, and many applications (on various servers) that connect to this database.
Most of these applications are older, legacy applications.
They use a special mechanism for concurrency that was designed, also a long time ago.
This mechanism requires the applications to lock a specific table with a TABLOCKX before making any changes to the database (in any table).
This is of course quite nasty as it essentially turns the database into single user mode, but we are planning to phase this mechanism out.
However, there is too much legacy code to simply migrate everything right away, so for the time being we're stuck with it.
Secondly, this central database may not become too big because the legacy applications cannot cope with large amounts of data.
So, a 'cleaning' mechanism was implemented to move older data from the central database to a 'history' database.
This cleaning mechanism was created in newer technology; C# .NET.
It is actually a CLR stored procedure that is called from a SQL job that runs every night on the history server.
But, even though it is new technology, the CLR proc *must* use the same lock as the legacy applications because they all depend on the correct use of this lock.
The cleaning functionality is not a primary process, so it does not have high priority.
This means that any other application should be able to interrupt the cleaning and get handled by SQL first.
Therefore, we designed the cleaning so that it cleans as few data as possible per transaction, so that any other process can get the lock right after committing each cleaning transaction.
On the other hand, this means that we do have a LOT of small transactions, and because each transaction is distributed, they are expensive and so it takes a long time for the cleaning to complete.
Now, the problem: when we start the cleaning process, we notice that the CPU shoots up to 100%, and other applications are slowed down excessively.
It even caused one of our customer's factories to shut down!
So, I'm wondering why the legacy applications cannot interrupt the cleaning.
Every cleaning transaction takes about 0.6 seconds, which may seem long for a single transaction, but this also means any other application should be able to interrupt within 0,6 seconds.
This is obviously not the case; it seems the cleaning session 'steals' all of the CPU, or for some reason other SQL sessions are not handled anymore, or at least with serious delays.
I was thinking about one of the following approaches to solve this problem:
    1) Add waits within the CLR procedure, after each transaction. This should lower the CPU, but I have no idea whether this will allow the other applications to interrupt sooner. (And I really don't want the factory to shut down twice!)
    2) Try to look within SQL Server (using DMV's or something) and see whether I can determine why the cleaning session gets more CPU. But I don't know whether this information is available, and I have no experience with DMV's.
    So, to round up:
    - The total cleaning process may take a long time, as long as it can be interrupted ASAP.
    - The cleaning statements themselves are already as simple as possible so I don't think more query tuning is possible.
    - I don't think it's possible to tell SQL Server that specific SQL statements have low priority.
Can anyone offer some advice on how to handle this?
    Regards,
    Stefan
