Personalize Link and Standard User / End User Core Role

Hi Expert,
Need your help in customizing service that appear when
Personalize hyperlink click on Portal Right hand side.
I understand the Personalize hyperlink
appearing from Standard User Role or End User Core Role.
I have copied End User Core Role and changed the ID,
after that have removed all workset apart from User profile
and assigned the new edited role to my user ID and it working fine.
My Query is can any one please let me know,
1. How is the new End User Core Role working? Where are the details property /or any other settings
with respect to use the End User Core Role done,
as the Personalize hyperlink appears when End User Core Role assigned to user?
3. What are the configurations or any other changes that I have
to do, if I need some other XYZ role to appear as a hyperlink like Personalize hyperlink appearing when End User Core Role is assigned?
4. What are the steps / Process, if I have to remove all the tabs except General Information tab under User profile iView { Without using (CTRL + Right mouse click)}.
5. If the pages at {portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/general/pages}
are been used how are they used?
Similarly
If the iViews  at
are been used how are they used? and If not whatu2019s its purpose?
Currently I am on Portal Version 7.0 SP 13.

Hi Eric,
you can add the Personalize iView to the page or end user role you created.
to add the personalize iView to your role navigate to
Content Provided by SAP - Admin Interfaces - Admin iView Templates - you can find different iViews related to Personalize.
add the iView you want the end users to change.
This is the simpler way.

  • Clear Print Queue failes in Guest and Standard user accounts

    Hello community
    I've created a launchd configuration file to clear the entire print queue in Mac OS X at startup. This worked fine in Mac OS X Leopard but is broken in Mac OS X Snow Leopard when logging in to Guest or Standard accounts. It works fine for Admin user accounts.
    The launchd configuration file is saved in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and loaded successfully. I've checked the content of the plist (created with Lingon), ownership (root:wheel) and permissions (-rw-r--r--). Everything seems fine to me.

  • Always launching admin and standard user

    I just installed iTunes 8.1.1.10 in a brand nex Vista Home Premium box. I have one admin user and 5 standard users.
    Every time I launch iTunes from a standard user's account, I get the "you cannot oppen the application iTunes because another user has it open" error in the admin account.
    It appears that iTunes is trying to launch in both places.
    Any ideas?

    More information would help. Are they not displayed on the login screen or you can't see them in System Preferences?

    On that page i have written a loop to display the records. Also i have a link there stating "More Details".
    If i click on the link of More Details, then remaining data for that should be displayed on the new page.
    I am able to open  a new page but unable to get the data which for that. in query.
    I am using HTMLB control with javascript.

    1. If you are having QuickLink for your pages(of corrosponding Applications)
    then,
    On Click...
    call a Java Script function where you can pass a request parametre to the new page...
    some thing like this..

  • User Mapping through Personalize link

    Hi,
    I have a question.
    When I click on the Personalize link, and go to User Mapping, I am selecting a system (alias) e.g: NPDCLNT000. Next, I enter the user and pass for this and click on save.
    But, upon clicking on save, my user and pass simply vanish from the page.
    The system still remains NPDCLNT000.
    Is this normal, to be not able to see what user has been used for mapping?

    no it is not normal that the entered data vanish after hitting the save button. Just to make sure I tested this on my local installation (SAP NW 7.0 SPS 11). The entered values are still displayed after I hit the save button.

  • Standard user cannot use creative cloud

    The most recent creativecloud update made it so that my users can not use CC. Adding them to local administrator group fixes this.
    I only have 8 workstations to worry about so I never bothered with the packager and deployment tools. I thought maybe that would fix the issue by installing the applications through a package, however when I try to install a package I create the installer gets hung up.
    Will installing the CC applications work with this method and standard users? If so how do I get these packages to install? I created them with the creative cloud packager, did the exception deployment first (Acrobat Pro) and then ran the setup found in the build folder and it gets hung up at the above screenshot. I left it for over an hour like this on a high end machine running a SSD.

    If your subscription is not English-only then you can close the Creative Cloud app, remove the file the OPM.db file and launch then try to sign in. Here is where the file is on your system:
    Mac OS: You can locate the OPM.db file in the \User\<user name>\Library\Application Support\Adobe\OOBE folder. To access the hidden user Library folder, see Access hidden user library files | Mac OS 10.7 Lion.
    Windows: You can locate the OPM.db file in the \Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE folder.  To view the hidden AppData folder, see Show hidden files, folders, filename extensions | Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7.

  • Standard user cannot install apps

    I have setup a Mac Mini in my office for several people to use, with me as Admin and others as Standard account.  The problem is, when someone wants to install an app, they always get a prompt to input the Admin's username and password.   From my research, I was under the impression that Standard users could install apps, but only for their own account, which is what we want.  But for some reason, it's not working that way.  I did a Google search and following one recommendation, used Disk Utiltiy to repair permissions on the hard drive of both the Admin and Standard User account in question, but with no positive result.  I'm a bit reluctant to just give Admin privileges to one person; then others will may ask for the same privileges.  What should I do?

    It sounds like they are trying to install an application in a location that they do not have permissions for (the main /Applications folder, for example).  They will need to use a location inside their own account that they have access to - usually this would be in a different Applications folder that has been created in their own account.  There are a few badly written applications that expect to be installed and run from an administrative account, but fortunately there aren't too many of those.

  • Finder is not available for standard user

    Hi,
    I recently installed OS X (10.8.2) from app store. We created "Data" folder and created few admin and non admin users. Granted access to both users to same folder. When admin logged off and standard user logged in, he could not find Finder. Repeated this with 8 standard users and Finder is not available for all 8 standard users. For 2 admin users Finder is available.
    We did not change any settings whatsoever, so not sure this behavier is by design or I am missing something.

    Are you running OS X 10.8 client or Server (is Server.app installed)? If you are using OS X Server, are these local accounts or network accounts?
    What do you mean by "could not find Finder?" As in could not log in? Could not access this 'Data' folder in Finder?

  • Struts Portlet Personalize Link

    I have a struts app that I have deployed as a portlet using the PDK struts tags/libs/etc..
    I'm trying to figure out, how to write custom code to allow users to click the "Personalize" link and specify some customization parameters for the portlet.
    I have seen a way to do this based on a JDeveloper example. However, the JDeveloper example is just a single JSP which handles everything (i.e. request, etc..) instead of calling a controller (i.e. a struts app).
    I've found that I can specify one of my actions in the provider.xml, which will allow me to call my struts action, prepopulate the page with data, and then forward to a JSP. However, when I forward to my JSP, it is within the context of the Personalize page itself, which already has an HTML form. So, I can't create my own custom HTML form and don't have control over the whole page. Also, with the form that is generated, there are Apply, Ok, and Cancel buttons.
    I really want to have control over the entire page. Is this possible? I can't see a way to eliminate the surrounding form.

    Can u please guide me how to create a portlet from existing struts application.

    I want to assign a user, the user admin role. So I copied the standard user admin role to my folder and when I assign it to the user it gives me an error "NO ACCESS" - You have no permission to perform this action.
    Can snyone please explain me in detail how to enable the permission so that the user has all the features of the user admin.

    Hi Michael,
    No need to copy to any other folder...goto systm admin -> permission -> portal permission -> open the portal content  and then give the full control permission for all the objects for wich u want to give access to end user and then finally assign him content admin role....doing this end user will see only those objects in his content admin role..

    Remove the role eu_role assigned to you so as to remove the Personalize link.

  • I can't seem to get Firefox to open links in Thunderbird, for ex. and when checking defauts, it doesn't show up in my standard user profile (Win7)

    I've tried a few browsers, but want to go back to only Firefox as default browser. I can find it and allocate it in the Administrator profile, but not my daily use, standard user. It doesn't even appear in the list of programs to assign defaults.
    And when I click on a web link (in Thunderbird, for ex.) I have to copy and paste it in Firefox to go to the page.

    Back up all data before making any changes.
    Please take each of the following steps until the problem is resolved.
    Step 1
    If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, and the problem is just that you can't print or save PDF's displayed in Safari, you may be able to do so by moving the cursor to the the bottom edge of the page, somewhere near the middle. A black toolbar should appear under the cursor. Click the printer or disk icon.
    Step 2
    There should be a setting in the preferences of the Adobe application such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected.
    Step 3
    If you get a message such as ""Adobe Reader blocked for this website," then from the Safari menu bar, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
    and check the box marked
    Allow Plug-ins
    Then click
    Manage Website Settings...
    and make any required changes to the security settings for the Adobe PDF plugin.
    Step 4
    Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
    from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens by pressing command-V, then press return.
    From the folder that opens, move to the Trash any items that have "Adobe" or “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari.
    Step 5
    The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it, if it's present. The same goes for a plugin called "iGetter," and perhaps others—I don't have a complete list. Don't remove Silverlight if you use the "Netflix" video-streaming service.
    Step 6
    Do as in Step 4 with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
    If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari.
