Photo Zoom

What is the technique for the effect of a photo zooming in larger on the screen. If an image is imported as .png how do you make it appear to grow from small photo to large photo? Shape Tween is disabled.

you don't need to change the code below the dotted line:
to scale any display object from startZoom to endZoom in steps number of steps, you can call startScaleF().  for example:
startScaleF(mc1,1,4,100);  // to scale mc1 from 100% to 400% in 100 steps
startScaleF(mc2,1,-4,100);  // to scale mc2 from 100% to -400% in 100 steps
startScaleF(mc3,.1,-5.2,40);  // to scale mc3 from 10% to -520% in 40 steps
function startScaleF(dobj:DisplayObject,startZoom:Number,endZoom:Number,steps:uint):void{
    var mc:MovieClip = new MovieClip();
    mc.step = 1;
    mc.dobj = dobj;
    mc.startZoom = startZoom;
    mc.endZoom = endZoom;
    mc.steps = steps;
    dobj.scaleX = dobj.scaleY = startZoom;
    mc.addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME,scaleF);
function scaleF(e:Event):void{
    e.currentTarget.dobj.scaleX = e.currentTarget.dobj.scaleY += (e.currentTarget.endZoom-e.currentTarget.startZoom)/e.currentTarget.steps;
    if(e.currentTarget.step>=e.currentTarget.steps){
        e.currentTarget.removeEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME,scaleF);
    } else {
        e.currentTarget.step++;

    Any chance someone could make a Safari Extension similar to Facebook Photo Zoom for eBay?
    >> It would be a great help while browsing, Thanks!

    It's not the router.
    I have several pre-Intel Macs with 10.4.11 and most were fairly fast machines in their day. We also have 50MBps cable internet. All our G-series Macs are "dial-up sluggish" with anything on the web regardless of browser, yet running a download speed test shows they a connecting at a fast rate.
    Watch the browser status bar during page loads--I think there is a clue there. All the bacjground ad sharing and tracking stuff---google analytics is a heavy hitter--are apparently not optimized for the G-series and much of what you are waiting on is that type of third-party dreck phoning home. You can't fix it--web developers embed this stuff. Money, ya know!
    The browser TenFour Fox tend to stall less than Safari or FireFox on the older Macs. It somehow tricks websites to seeing it as an Intel Mac version of FireFox. Still not blazing fast but a big improvment.

  • How can I uninstall the Safari extension "Facebook Photo Zoom?"

    Hello,
    How can I uninstall the Safari extension "Facebook Photo Zoom?"
    Thanks,
    lenms

    Sorry, den.thed, I've looked 'til I'm blue in the face!  There is but ONE radio button--the "Install Now."  Once you've clicked on it and the extension installs, that same radio button greys out and you can (barely) see the word "Installed" on it, and there is no other button available (see the image below.)
    I've never seen software where you could not uninstall an extension.
    Thanks,

  • Have you tried to remove Photo-zoom V10 1.14 by Joseph CM from firefox?

    Advertising windows began appearing on my favorite pages, such as Kijiji, and some of the links wanted to take me to unsafe pages. I found Photo-zoom V10 1.14 by Joseph CM in my extensions for Firefox, and chrome, sarfari , think it was downloaded with torrent. I could uninstall it with safari and chrome, however firefox only had a disable button. I did all the usual, even deleting all the preferences firefox used, but it came on coming back. One message I received when setting up firefox was: An application wants to install Photo-zoom-allow? I didn’t but the extension was there anyhow when I finished the install. I finally found the culprit in the mozilla folder in application support folder. I deleted the mozilla, and the firefox folders and it was gone. Has anyone else come across this extension?

    Hi bdraht,
    I managed to resolve this by removing all the extensions in Chrome, Firefox and Safari.
    Chrome:
    Settings (upper right side) > Extensions >  Remove Photo-zoom (I removed others that i'm not using just to be sure)
    Firefox:
    Settings (upper right side) > Extensions >  Disable Photo-zoom
    Safari:
    File Preferences >  Extensions > Remove Photo-zoom (I turn off everything)
    Hope it helps.

  • Photo zoom-in and out appear to speed up toward end.

    Greetings.
    I'm trying to figure out the cause for my zooms (in or out) aapearing to speed up toward the last third of a photo (clip) in FCE 3.5.1
    First I had to ask if this is an illusion, but I don't think so.
    I drag a photo to the time line. It's total running time is around 15 seconds. I double click the photo, get to motion tab, line up my zoom start in canvas and then timeline, mark with key, adjust for zoom out, repeat.
    As far as I can tell, there is no Speed setting in the Motion tab that might get affected.
    Is it just me, or has anyone had and solved this problem?
    Thanks.
    Jonathan

    Tom suggests you to smooth the keyframe as follows: in the graph area to the right of the Motion controls (I mean in the Motion tab of the FCE viewer..) you can see the small diamonds of the 2 keyframes you defined for Scale. Right click (or ctrl click) the small diamond and you may to select the Smooth command from the contextual menu.
    As a result of the Smooth command you get a new handle, a small blue bullet, for each keyframe that you can drag up, down, right or left to modify the graph curve for that keyframe. After each change, check the effect in the canvas to see what you prefer.
    For additional precision in dragging the new handles, you may enlarge the graph area both horizontally, by making the viewer window larger, and vertically by dragging down the double line just below the Scale graph.

  • E71 photo zoom, full screen & video full screen sh...

    anyone know any short key for this? my old nokia 6630 can zoom photo with pressing key #5. full screen photo with key *key, video full screen with pressing key #2. does E71 have these short key?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    In E71 photo viewer you can zoom in with 5, zoom out with 0 and toggle fullscreen with #. 2, 4, 6 and 8 scroll the image when zoomed in.
    However, you need to press the function key simultaneously in order to access the numbers, which makes these shortcuts a little less handy

  • Disappointed with touch photo zooming

    Wanted to test a couple of scanned comic pages to view on touch, but when you zoom in, the images are greatly pixelated, this is not the case with Archos.
    Does ipod touch re-compress images when loaded??

    It sounds like the poster tried to paste the photos into the DCIM folder in My Computer since that is how you can get photos taken by or saved to the iPod into your computer. However the reverse does not work for moving photos from computer to iPod.

  • Photo zoom-in bug

    After OS 3.0 upgrade, I found this bug that needs to be fixed for the next update.
    When I try to zoom-in the photo in the album normally by pinch out with two fingers, it automatically shrink down the size and fit back into full screen. Double-tab is working well. But unlike previous os, in order to zoom-in, I need to pinch out the pic and hold 2 secs to freeze the resized pic. That's annoying.
    Even the pic that fits in the full screen gets cropped little bit, so that I need to do the process above to see the perfect image with wonderment. I'm kinda person who keeps my graphic work on my phone and occassionally review it. Who's gonna be happy with his work to be cut?
    Fix it plz.

  • Still photo "zoom" through motion

    Hi,
    I'm trying to create a "memories slideshow" consisting of still photos that zoom in slowly. I'm encountering a couple problems that I'm hoping to get help with:
    1) When zooming in by setting keyframes in each clip's motion tab, I find that it's difficult to get each photo to zoom in at the same speed and direction. Is there a shortcut to doing this easily? I guess the effect I'm aiming for is similar to what iPhoto does automatically with an album slideshow, just more controlled. (Is there any way to just do this from iPhoto and adjust the settings for each clip's duration and zoom?)
    2) When I zoom in I find that the images become very blurry, although they are less so when viewed in the program I used to scan them (Lexmark Imaging Studio on a PC). I scanned the images at 300 DPI and saved them to JPEG. I realize these settings may not be optimal - what DPI and file format are recommended if I want to zoom in to, say, 5x?
    Thanks.

    Speed of a move is dependent upon the length of of the move. A move set up to do the "same" thing will be faster if there is a shorter duration between the keyframes. if all of you photos are the same size and aspect ratio, set one up to your liking then save that as a Motion Favorite, then you can apply that to them all. And there is no way to take info from iPhoto and adjust in FCP.

    300dpi is high for video. Video is 72dpi. But a higher dpi scan means you can zoom further in without the image breaking up. If they are blurry... have you rendered the move? They should look better when rendered.
    Doing still moves is a difficult task. If you search the forum you will find many topics on the issue that will provide valuable tips.

  • Why do my photos zoom in when I add them to a video?

    I am not experienced at all with premiere pro at all. i have to just splice videos and photos together. My videos come out fine but when I try to add photos to this video it like zooms in or takes only a portion of the picture and adds it. Its very strange. Like I said though I do not really know Premiere Pro so work with me here if this is a dumb question X)
    Thanks, Russ

    Probably because your sequence is 1920X1080 or smaller and your images are in the neighborhood of 4000X3000 or more.
    I suggest that you just scale them down with the Scale parameter of the Motion effect. Once you do that to one of them, you can copy it, and then "Paste Attributes" on the others to make them the same size. That way you can adjust them a little later if you wish.
    The other way is to set them to "Scale to Frame Size" but that resamples them and you can't zoom back in without losing quality. Also, if they are the wrong shape (quite likely) then you will be stuck with bars on the sides.

  • I photo "zoom"  and "crop" function

    Maybe I'm missing something but I'm unable (when in edit photo) to zoom in on a photo and then try to crop to that particular area. Every time I hit crop the picture reverts back to the original size. I was always able to this with ease in prior versions. Help please! Thanks

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
    Start with this basic fix: trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
    *What's the plist file?*
    For new users: Every application on your Mac has an accompanying plist file. It records certain User choices. For instance, in your favourite Word Processor it remembers your choice of Default Font, on your Web Browser is remembers things like your choice of Home Page. It even recalls what windows you had open last if your app allows you to pick up from where you left off last. The iPhoto plist file remembers things like the location of the Library, your choice of background colour, whether you are running a Referenced or Managed Library, what preferences you have for autosplitting events and so on. Trashing the plist file forces the app to generate a new one on the next launch, and this restores things to the Factory Defaults. Hence, if you've changed any of these things you'll need to reset them. If you haven't, then no bother. Trashing the plist file is Mac troubleshooting 101.

  • Why are my photos zooming out when I set them as wallpaper?

    This morning when I was setting some photos as wallpapers I noticed that they are zooming out and whenever I tried to to zoom them in it kept on going back to what it was before in the zoom out and it's not showing the whole picture as it is in my photo Gallary. I tried resetting, I tried turning off the parxell and it's still doing that. It's sorta upsetting cause I don't like my photos enlarged. It looks awful that way. Is there anyway to fix this?

  • Photos zoom jumps from med to large with no inbetween sizes

    When I use the zoom slider, my photos will grow from thumbnails and gradully get bigger (as expected). Once they're zoomed in to a size that fits about 12 photos on the viewing area at once (zoom slider at about 99% to the right), I move the slider a fraction more (zoom slider at 100%) and it jumps to 1 maxium sized photo.
    What am i doing wrong? I have a 24" mid 2007 imac with leopard.

    Matt
    You’re not doing anything wrong. That slider is a mite unsubtle.

  • Adobe 5.7 keeps crashing when editing/zooming out on a photo.

    OK, so this has been a HUGE problem for me.  It happens often.  SO much so, I believed it was my laptop, so I went out and BOUGHT A NEW ONE.  As in, top of the line current specs with 16gb ram and 2 graphics cards, and an SSD.  The problem often occurs when I am editing a photo zoomed in, and then zoom out.  It freezes, and a "bezel" window opens up.  I can't do anything, at this point, except shut down LR entirely and reopen.  Thoughts?
