Photos disappear upon saving a new photo page

Hi,
I updated to iweb 08 2.0.2. My previous site migrated over just fine. However, since updating iweb i have been unable to put any new pages up on the site. i have created a new page via iphoto and created one from iweb and drag and dropped the photos. After saving and before publishing it goes back to those same 3 pics from the pages original template. Anyone else experiencing this? Also, i just got a message that there was an error publishing the site. Any help is much appreciated. I did look for others with this problem but no luck so if there is another thread please point me that way.
Have a good weekend.

Hi Scott,
Yes there appears to be many errors in the log. I will paste it below.
Thanks!!

  • Ipod nano - photos disappear when I add new ones

When I transfer photos from my computer to my ipod nano that's fine - but the photos already in my ipod disappear!
    Anyone help?

Are you choosing the same folder each time to sync
    photos from?
If this isnt the case then thats why the photos
disappear, the ipod recognises that the "new" folder
chosen doesnt have the photos already contained on
the ipod in it and deletes them accordingly.
The easiest way to transfer photos (at least i found
it easier lol) is to create a new folder on your
computer called "ipod photos" or something like that,
then copy all the photos that you want on your ipod
into that folder. Then sync the ipod photos from that
folder, and when you want to remove certain photos,
simply delete or move them from the folder, connect
    the ipod, and sync again.
    Hope this helps
Many thanks- I'll try that. I assume that it's the same procedure for Windows (you) and Mac (me)?

  • New iPhone photos not showing up on new Photos app on iMac

In the past, when I took a photo on my iPhone, within moments it would show up on Aperture on my iMac in the iCloud tab.  This is not happening on the new Photos app on my iMac using the latest OS.
In fact, there is not an "iCloud' stream area within the Photos app. Also, under iCloud system preferences, I have selected "iCloud Photo Library, My Photo Stream, and iCloud Photo Sharing."
Not sure what I'm doing wrong here.

    Same problem.
After USB is connected, iPhoto shows iPhone name with "(0)" photos.
Same whether iPhoto is open or closed before USB is connected.
Same whether iPhone is on or off when USB is connected.
    Rebooting iPhone did not help.
    Relaunching iPhoto did not help.
    Rebooting Mac did not help.

iCloud shared photo stream stopped working since the last OX update with the new photo app.  I don't have access anymore to the sharing albums, even those that I own
Don't the albums show at all?
Are you signed in  with the same Apple ID that you used with iCloud before?  And are you currently browsing the System Photos Library? Only one Photos library, enabled as the System Photos library can sync with iCloud.
For me it helped to disable iCloud Photo sharing in the System Preferences > iCloud > Photos > Options
and in the Photos. app Preferences < iCloud.
Then restart the Mac and enable the same Preferences again.
    And wait.
The Shared albums came slowly back and were all back after one day.

  • Photo browser doesn't show new photos loaded in iPhoto today

I tried to find some photos in photo browser to attach to an email. The photos were in an iPhoto event I added today, but they didn't appear in that event via the photo browser in iMail.
For background, I used a new SDHD card in my Nikon D80 and found my card reader didn't support the HD function of the card (I have loaded photos from this camera using the same card reader with an SD - not HD though- card for a year with no problem). Instead of using the card reader, I loaded the photos using a USB cable from my camera to my iMac, just as I had always done previously with the card reader. That is the only difference in loading today's photos from any other photos loaded previously
So, I don't know why the photo browser didn't see the new photos and don't understand how loading them directly from the camera versus from a card reader should make a difference. Any ideas about the failure to find the photos via the photo browser even though they are there in the event in iPhoto. Please help!

Unfortunately, it did not. I had tried that several times, and today when I rebooted I thought it might be resolved. I also checked the number of pics in iPhoto and Photo Browser, and the numbers do not match (more pics in iPhoto than Photo Browser by the number I added to iPhoto yesterday).
I also checked for any software updates, but didn't find any. I am current with all the Apple software updates that I get prompted to download.
    Any more suggestions greatly appreciated.

  • Cannot download photos from Kodak Z612 using new Photos

I had no problem downloading photos from my Kodak Z612 camera using iPhoto. Now I cannot download anything using the new Photos or Image Capture. As in earlier posts, re. iPhoto April 2014, I get a list of the .jpg photos that I wanted to import and a message that says the files are in the wrong format. Really? .jpg is the wrong format? I tried a couple of work-arounds from April 2014, but they did not work. Does anyone have any ideas on how to download photos from my Z 612 using the new Photos?

Thanks for the info, but I have done that before searching for answers to the problem. I, and anyone else with the same problem, should not be required to jump through extra hoops to do what we have always done with iPhoto, whether it is a Kodak or a Nikon.

  • Why are my photo images pure black?  New photos uploaded are not viewable and are 100% black.  How can I fix this?

Recently my photo images are 100% blacked out and can't be viewed at all.  Also, upon editing a few photos Aperture got bogged down and then image turned 100% black.  I am now aftraid to open or edit any photos, and fear I have a virus/bug that could be damaging my photos.  What can I do to fix this?

    Hello hjerge,
After reviewing your post, I have located a piece of information in the Aperture manual that can help in this situation:

  • Upon Import Of New Photos Old Photos Disappear From Catalogue

I have Lightroom 2. I created a catalogue and imported photo's into it from my computer. I then went to import more photo's to the same catalogue and I cannot find the previous imports photo's. I tried to reimport the originals and Lightroom told me I am trying to import duplicates even though I cannot see the photo's in the catalogue. I tried looking at the filters and it only shows the photo's form the new import, clicking 'previous import' also does not yield any results. Any suggestions ?

Try clicking on "All Photographs" in the Catalog section on the left-hand panel.

  • Photos disappeared in migration to new Mac

I've learned a lot from reading this already but don't see my specific problem so here goes.
My old iBook was dying so several months ago I bought a new one and moved everything over to the new machine using FireWire. However, iPhoto 6.06 on the new machine doesn't display my 4000+ old photos. They are there in the iPhoto library so I can't import them. I fear I messed them up by manipulating the files inside the library (which I now realize I must not do).....but I never had a problem like this on the old machine.
So...I do not have a current backup.
It seems like I need to drag all my photos to the desktop and rebuild my library. However, within the iPhoto Library folder, my photos aren't organized in rolls - except the new stuff I've downloaded from my camera since buying the new machine. The old pics are in folders named by year, then within the year folders are month folders as well as a Data folder in each, then within the month folders are day folders - the days I downloaded. Within each day folder are jpgs of the pics as well as folders typically called Thumbs, Originals, and Data. This structure was created by default, not by me. Maybe it's an artifact of an older version of iPhoto, or of my old camera (I used to use Canon Imagebrowser software to download, since past versions of iPhoto didn't automatically rotate my pics).
Do I need to drag stuff out of each and every "day" folder (there are probably hundreds of those) to create and populate a new library? If yes, what exactly do I drag....just the jpgs, leaving the Thumbs, Originals, and Data behind? Or is there a better way?
Any help is greatly appreciated! I have a bunch of photos on CD that I want to import into iPhoto, too, but to try and do that now would surely be a disaster..

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
That sounds like a mess all right. YOu seem to have av6 and a v5 library messed up together.
Yes, you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same film rolls and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, books, calendars etc.
Move the iPhoto Library Folder to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library Folder on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual rolls to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
Then you need to recover the full size files from the Year Folders:
    Choose File > Find.
Change the search scope to find files in "this folder" that are "Size is greater than 50KB" and "Kind is Images". (You can click the + or - buttons in the Find window to add or remove search terms if needed.)
Drag the search results into the iPhoto window to import these images.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library Folder on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

  • All my previous events disappear when I import new photos into iphoto?

Each time I import photos from my Canon digital camera into my iphoto, the new import is the only event that shows. I can't access any menues or events in iphoto; when I open iphoto from the dock, only my most recent event opens. To import photos from my camera, I open iphoto, connect the USB cord to my camera and the USB port on my computer, and click import. The next time I open my iphoto, nothing is there except my last import. When this happened a few weeks ago, I looked at the discussions and found out how to rebuild the library, which I did, but I can't do that every time I import photos. What is happening? What is wrong with my iphoto?

It sounds like you have a damaged database.
Try these in order - from best option on down...
    1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
    2. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
    3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.
As to why you have repeated corruption - Are you running a Managed or a Referenced Library?
If you're running a Managed library, then it's the default setting, and iPhoto copies files into the iPhoto Library when Importing
If you're running a Referenced Library, then you made a change at iPhoto -> Preferences -> Advanced and iPhoto is NOT copying the files into the iPhoto Library when importing.

  • Photo info on thumbnails in new photo ap????

Previously the photos shown in ann Event or Album the image number  shown automatically, and you could add or rename that image.  With the new update those items are not showing.  Has that feature been removed?  I looked thru the drop down options in photos and I don't see how to turn that feature on.  Is it even possible?  I know I can select a photo in an album or event and then hit the info button to turn it on and it stays on as I scroll thru each photo, however, I want to see the image numbers and titles when looking at all the thumbnails in a certain event or album.

    Has that feature been removed?
Not removed but the title which shows below the thumbnail was not included in the conversion from iPhoto to Photos.  User léonie has created some Automator/Applescript apps that can: 1 - put the file name of the original file into the title box; 2 - let you batch rename the titles in a couple of ways.

What about title batch change??? Cannot find it...Please help
Batch changing of titles, dates, captions is not supported in Photos.
I posted a few basic Automator workflows to do batch changing using Apple Script on the Photos User Tip page:
    Photos for Mac
You can try them out as templates for your own scripts, if you want a work-around directly in Photos:
Batch Changes in Photos for Mac:  Change the titles to a Given String
Photos for Mac: Batch Change the Date and Time to a Fixed Date
Photos for Mac: Batch Change the Descriptions
Photos for Mac: Batch Changing the Titles to the Filename
For the time being, it is much more convenient to import photos first to Aperture or iPhoto and to make all batch changes, including adding location data, and only then importing the photos to Photos.

  • Does uploading iPhoto libraries from multiple Macs with the same photos create duplicates in the new Photos app?

I have 4 Macs and I had the same iPhoto library on each of them. When I chose to turn on the iCloud Photo Library on each of them, each Mac, each one of them uploaded the library to iCloud Photo Library.. Now it appears that I have many duplicates in the new Library. Is it adding each of the 4 libraries to the mix? It's a real problem as I have 25,000 pictures - 70GB in my library. So paused the upload on 2 of the Macs about half way through in case it is creating duplicates, until I get some answers. Any help would sure be appreciated.

I'm in the same boat as well. I'm doing one mac at a time and seeing how it works. Howev the upload is so slow, who knows when it will be done.

  • How can I export photos to Shutterfly using the new Photos app on my Mac?

I just blindly accepted Photos as an upgrade from iPhoto.  Now, I cannot figure out how to export my photos to Shutterfly (this is both my backup method for saving photos and also how I send albums to family/friends).

Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
Install the App from the App Store.
Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.
