Photoshop CC 3D render reflections

Hi,
Just upgraded from photoshop CS6 to CC and using some existing files but when 3D render kicks in the ground plane reflections disappear, has it changed or am I doing something wrong or is it a bug?

Yes, thank you that works. It appeared to be constrained to 2 dimensional movements before, but now it works. It's very confusing having 3 dimensions to work in!

Photoshop CS5 Video Render Never Finishes; Mac and Windows

Hello,
I've tried rendering a video using Photoshop CS5 and it never finishes. The progress bar reaches the end but the process never completes. The video is only three seconds long (it's the video rendering exercise in Adobe Photoshop CS5: Classroom in a Book, Lesson 12). A 3D postcard is being rendered. First, I tried the settings in the book, H.264, Medium (quality), 15 FPS, 700 x 700, one-pass. That is only 150 frames! It never finished. Since then, I've tried all sorts of output formats from a 70 x 70 pixel WMV file to standard-def DV/DVCPRO NTSC. Nothing finishes. My Mac Pro has 12 GB of RAM with over 8 GB free. Photoshop is at the latest update.
Now, here is the kicker. I had my students try the exercise in the lab at the university where I teach. We have very up-to-date Windows PCs in our lab and Photoshop CS5. The exact same thing happened on the PCs with six of six students, the render never finished.
I've searched to no avail for a posting about this problem. I'm stumped. Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

The serial number is platform specific. So your current serial number will only work on the Mac platform. You will want to purchase an additional license for Windows. Alternately once the Creative Cloud is available you can subscribe have one install under Mac OS and another under Windows of the soon to be current version, CS6, if you would like. Need to get order for Adobe Photoshop 13 amended to reflect 32 bit system and for second order for same system deleted.

I accidentally deleted partially completed order for for Adobe Photoshop 13. It had my credit card info filled in but not the size of the computer (32 bit VS 64 bit) I need order page to reflect 32 bit. Trying to recover original order, I reordered a second Photoshop 13 by mistake and need it to be deleted . I don't know how to get corrections done?

Photoshop CC - EXPORT - RENDER VIDEO issue, screenshots included

Hi there,
I´ve created a 25seconds long video in Photoshop CC. When I tried to export it, after I hit Export-Render Video, no dialog box open, it only shows progress bar sayin: Initializing Video Export" and there it stops. My Photoshop and Pc are working fine, nothing is frozen. Im using Windows 8. How can I fix this issue?

I sometimes get this problem then if I kill Photoshop and try again everything goes smoothly and it renders. There is something wrong in Photoshop video rendering module - when it fails it seems to get in an endless goto loop or so I guess as it is only using one of the eight cores and hyperthreads available to it, when working properly it uses all eight. Exactly the same file with exactly the same edits hang without even getting to the stage you illustrate, hang as you illustrate, open the render box and then hang rendering or renders the video perfectly. Something needs investigating by Adobe.

Photoshop doesn't render a pdf file correctly.

When i opened a pdf file made in Illustrator (Mac version) it showed a preview like this:
But when it was opened, the file looked like this:
As you can see, the text "RADIO TV" is missing, though it must be there.
That happens only when I open it in it's native CMYK mode, otherwise (RGB, LAB or GRAY) it renders ok.
When I open the file in Acrobat, it shows the text normally, (as on the first picture).
So I looked at the file closely in Illustrator, and found that all the layers are mostly with the same features, but why Photoshop treats them differently???
It's a vital question for me, as I work in a printing company, and we've lost money and can lose clients because of the error.

If you export a layered file to PDF from Photoshop using a Hight Quality print preset, it keeps text and shapes vectored. You can carry on zooming in on the PDF and still see fully sharp text and objects. But if you bring that same PDF back into Photoshop, it rasterizes the entire document unless you check 'maintain Photoshop layers' (something like that) when exporting to PDF.
So I am wondering what options there are when exporting to PDF from Illustrator, (at which I am still very much still learning). The Illustrator forum guys will be able to answer that in a flash I am sure.

Photoshop CS4 3D render quality

Is it possibe to increase the number of polygons of the basic 3D models in Photoshop CS4? I would like to use them in 2D, but the low number of polygons makes them look too bad for my purposes. I looked everywhere on the net for the last hour but couldn't find an answer. I know it's not a 3D modeling application (that's what I use a different application for), but it would be useful if I can use those models without having to open a different program.

Photoshop cs6 video render queue

How do I get a video render into the Adobe media encoder queue instead of doing individually ?

Has anyone figrued out any sort of background rendering workaround?
I was using AE to edit but it's slow and I'm so familiar and comfy with PS.
Premiere is nice but there it's tough to feather masks quickly. The Titling thing is cool but kinda roundabout.

I have been working in Lightroom 4.3 for MAC. From there I open 2 files to edit in Photoshop as layers so I can add a layer mask to the bottom layer and use the paint brush tool to make certain areas of the image darker or lighter. I have been doing this with no problem and now it doesn't seem to work. I can see the brushes' strokes on the layer mask but can not see the results on the image.
I keep getting a message from Lightroom saying I may need to download Photoshop camera raw plug in version 7.3 for full compatibility whener I try to edit on Photohsop thru Lightroom, but I have already added this plug in and it asks for it. It happens with raw, jpegs and tiffs from my 1D Mark II or my 5D Mark III and with other people's camera. It used to work fine. Now it dosen't I feel like it is something so simple. Please help. This si crucial to my business.

The wording of the message about ACR 7.3 is a bit misleading: What it means is that ACR 7.3 is required for Photoshop. Lr 4.3 has got it.
Which version of Photoshop are you using?
I suspect it's not CS6 but a prior version. If it is a version prior to CS6 you cannot install ACR (Adobe Camera Raw) 7.3.
You may have downloaded it but you cannot install it. It doesn't install.
On the other hand Lr 4.3 is based on ACR 7.3. So you have an incompatibility of ACR versions: 7.3 in Lr 4.3 and an earlier-version-ACR in Photoshop.
With this situation Lr an dPhotoshop are not fully compatible, i.e. you cannot open images as layers. You can only open one image at a time, either by letting Lr 4.3 render the PSD (or TIFF) and sending it to Photoshop (by selecting <Render using Lightroom>), or you let Photoshop open the Raw file with its earlier version ACR (by selecting <Open Anyway>).
In this situation you have two choices: Either upgrade to CS6, or open images in Photoshop one at a time and vonvert to layers in Photoshop.

Photoshop crashes when saving for web and devices

When hitting saving for web and devices, Photoshop starts to render images but before it's done, it crashes. I get an error-popup with no text and the screen where normally the animation is shown is red. Then Windows comes with a crash report and I can only quit Photoshop.
I have an animation of over 150 frames, but just some black and white lines, no color.
I'm using Photoshop CS 5.5 on Win7.
I tried deleting the preferences in AppData/Roaming etc, but no result, still crashes.
My Photoshop is also updated to the latest version.
Help?

Where can I find a Photoshop Crash Report?

AE CS3 Crashes after every render with Apple ProRes 422 HQ

I'm rendering some green screen shots with composited backgrounds (short clips, only 10-20 seconds max) and After Effects will crash after every render of footage that has been exported from Final Cut to Apple Pro Res 422 HQ codec. The original footage was Sony EX1 codec, but as I say - was converted before importing into AE.
It will also not let me do batch renders, and will only get a few seconds in to the render. After every time it crashes, it tells me that it saved a copy of the render, and then usually gives me a message about how AE quit unexpectedly and I have the option of reporting or relaunching.
I have 12 Gb of Ram in my MacPro with 2x3.2 Ghz Quad-Core Xeon processors and the latest OS.
AE behaves normally when i animate some Illustrator or Photoshop files and render to various codecs and will not crash. Any suggestions?

Animation at best quality is lossless so you can't get any better than that for the bit depth. The only problem with Animation Codec is that the files are big. I try and use lossless codecs for all of my interim renders. I only use compression when I'm doing the final renders.

How many RAM do I need to use 3D rendering for Photoshop CC?

I just download a trail version of Adobe Photoshop CC and plainning to use Photoshop for all of my 3D works. My systems specs is AMD FX 6100 on the CPU side, NVida GeForce GTX 560 Ti, 8 gig of DDR3 1333 Mhz RAM and WD Black 1 TB and Window 8 64-bit.
when I use photoshop cc to render 3D text, I see that it use more of CPU power and the RAM don't even move.
i check these status using Logitech G510 gaming keyboard LED screen.
I understead 8 gig is more enough for gaming but for intensive task like 3D rendering, I heard that I need 12 gig or 16 gig. My motherboard support up to 32 gb but that will cuase more and thinking of upgrade to 16 gig of RAM. my motherboard only support 1333 mhz and I don't want to upgrade my motherboard.

Print Preview doesn't reflect what is chosen from my printer properties

I recently reinstalled my Windows XP Pro machine, installed Photoshop CS4 (actually Master Collection CS4) and installed the latest printer driver from Xerox for my Xerox Phaser 7750 printer. I had a project to print out and it was 12x18. I chose the paper size in my printer properties, but the print preview in Photoshop CS4 would not reflect it, it would continue to say 8 1/2" x 11", even though it showed 12 x 18 in the scaled Print Size box. When I print it accepted the 12x18 and chose the right tray to pull the paper from, but it only printed the 8 1/2" x 11" and cut everything else off.
What could possibly be going on here? It used to work fine on my Photoshop CS2. Is it the latest driver causing an issue? The crazy thing is that I saved my project as a PDF and printed from PDF just fine, so it seems like Photoshop is having some issue.
Any help would be appreciated.

I feel a little silly right about now. I came home, brought up Photoshop and everything worked as it should. I don't know why it didn't before, except that maybe I installed Photoshop, started it and realized I didn't have the printer installed yet, then I installed the printer driver and didn't restart photoshop. If that was the case I could see why I would have problems. Thank you so much for your suggestions though, people that are willing to help even when it is the fault of the user are amazing. MS Word Background image not converting

I have Microsoft Word 2007 & Acrobat Pro 9. I created a document in Word, and that doc has a background image. However, when I try to convert it to a PDF, one of two things happens: 1) the PDF is created with no background image, or 2) the background image is reduced in size & tiled in repeating rows in the background. Neither of these is acceptable! I've tried the following:
From in Word -->Print-->Acrobat PDF
From Acrobat -->Create PDF-->From File
From Word -->Save As-->PDF
From Acrobat-->set background image
This is quite frustrating, since I don't want to re-do everything in Photoshop just to render the PDF properly. I set the image as a background in Word because I want it to cover the whole 8.5"x11" space without any margins. The image is a 95 dpi JPG sized at 8.5"x11"

You may need to check Acrobat and be sure you have Display Large Images selected. If that is not the issue, it may be a setting in your print options of WORD. Programs like WORD and PPT often have the default set to not print background images because they use so much toner in a regular printer. Since you are using a digital printer that option is not needed.

In my continuing efforts to get a simulation of a working system I updated to LR 2.1 and carried out various suggested methods of updating Photoshop CS3 to properly reflect the effects of the 10.0.1 upgrade.
In case it helps development the situation now on my Win XP SP3 is that:
If I open LR before PS CS3, then CS3 reports Sripting Support version 10.0 and the LR "Open in CS3" does not work properly in the way reported before by many people.
If I Open PS CS3 and then open LR, then CS3 reports Scripting Support Verson 10.0.1 and LR "Open in CS3" does work correctly.

ToImage tiff file is huge

We have a Livecycle process that gathers data as xml and then merges the data with a form template using the GeneratePDF activity. Later we take the generated PDF and convert it to a tiff with the Output toImage activity. The PDF is 65k in size, but without compression, the generate tiff is around 200m. With compression we can get it down to around 1m to 2m. At 1m the quality is not the same, noticeably less. We store the tiff in our document repository where all document are stored as tiff's. We have processes where we receive pdf documents from external sources and these pdf's convert to tiff's that are about the same size as the original pdf.
Are there settings/fixes we can use in the GeneratePDF and toImage processes that will help us get a tiff that is closer to the size of the original PDF?

Most files that are 36" tall by 96" long @ 300ppi will be rather big in Photoshop given that photoshop has to render each one of those pixels for each one of those layers. Note that photoshop interprets all objects as pixel information which can be very heavy with the exclusion of text, vector boxes, vector based objects unless rasterized of course. My assumption would be that the company's file was probably produced with mainly vector objects and extremely light png's and gif's from google earth therefore producing rather light files, not to exclude the possibility that the design was put together in a different program like indesign or illustrator which renders PDF's much lighter than photoshop would with the same assets. My suggestion would be to design any background or pixel based designs through Photoshop at a 1/4 size of print output with 300ppi or design at full size with 100ppi at max and then import the files either into indesign or illustrator and then finalize the text and content information from there.
Last thing to keep in mind, when you render a PDF in Photoshop, you render a "Photoshop PDF" which rasterizes any vector objects that Photoshop has produced, with the exception of imported vector objects. Therefore in your final output (banner) the text will be at 100ppi which is not ideal given that illustrator or indesign can produce the same quality file while maintaining the vector properties of the text and vector objects, plus the design process will be a lot less processor intensive.
