Photoshop CC sometimes fails to recognize Nvidia card (GT 730M)

I run Photochop CC on my laptop and Photoshop sometimes fails to recognize Nvidia card (GT 730M), and I get an Intel driver crush notification.I set the Nvidia cardas prefered one for Photoshop and it still fails. Drivers are up to date. Any way to fix the issue?

If the Intel is the onboard graphics processor you could try disabling it in Device Manager and BIOS, and let the Nvidia card operate alone..

  • Superdrive Sometimes Failing to Recognize DVDs

I've had my MacBook Pro for about 15 months and the Superdrive is now sometimes failing to recognize blank media, or ejecting commercial DVD's after playing the movie for a few minutes. Obviously the warranty has expired and I'm thinking of buying an external drive if the problem can't be fixed inexpensively. Any suggestions as to how to resolve this problem?
    Thanks in advance.

Yes, I am having same problem. After updating to OS 10.5.2, my SuperDrive in my MacBook 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo will not play any DVD or Enhanced CD. (It will play audio CDs.)
For me, this is DEFINITELY an Apple software/firmware issue. When a DVD wouldn't play in my MacBook SuperDrive, I would instead use my MacMini successfully, which was running OS 10.4.x. I recently updated the MacMini by cloning my MacBook to it, and viola, succeeded in replicating the exact problem.
Also curious, my MacBook SuperDrive almost worked the first time I put my first DVD into it. DVD Player asked to set the region, which I did. It then refused to play the DVD or any other media DVD/CD subsequently.
I have no solution yet, but will share with all when I do.

  • Android Update -- now fails to recognize SD Card!

Android did an automatic update yesterday, and suddenly failed to recognize the SD Card.  It keeps telling me the card has been removed and that I need to insert a new one.
This device has been rebooted, cache cleared, card viability verified.  What gives?

        Hi dont-have-time-for-this,
SD card issues are no fun, I feel you! I also have a Galaxy S3 and when I received my software update I did a factory reset http://bit.ly/LfV00q after installation to prevent any system conflicts and post update issues, and I have not experienced any issues with my SD card. Try it and keep us posted.

  • Photoshop CC 64 bit sometimes won't recognize Nvidia graphics card

Sometimes when I open Photoshop CC 64 bit on windows 8.1 I get these warnings. I then have to restart my laptop for Photoshop to recognize my graphics card. Sometimes when I launch photoshop it is fine and there is no issue at all. It seems like every other time I launch Photoshop I get these warnings. I noticed that when installing programs from Adobe CC there are 2 versions installed. I tried opening the version that is not 64 bit and I did not get these warnings.

I noticed from another thread, that nVidia released a new Windows driver earlier this month.  About the 3rd of March if memory serves.  I don't know what card you are using, but I think some of those drivers cover a range of cards for the OS the driver is intended for.

  • Cs6 doesn't recognize NVidia Card for graphics processing?

On starting up Cs6 for the first time, the program said that it doesn't recognize the NVidia GeForce 7300 GT. Is this right? Is this going to be true for the release?

That's a bummer. I had the same problem but can't remember the exact steps I took to fix it. At first it would not recognize my graphics cards because they were different (NVIDEA, RADEON), and would ONLY recognize the NVIDEA 7300. Then I updated all the drivers and swapped the order of my cards around, and changed the slot settings with the Expansion Slot utility (if you are on an older MacPro). After some tweaking they all loaded and are working well but don't have all the extra features that a new graphics card would have.

  • Photoshop CS6 constant 25% CPU Usage with Nvidia card (nvoglv64.dll)

    Hi,
i'm using Adobe Photoshop CS6 (Cloud) and have the latest version installed. I experience a high cpu problem when i want to zoom in the picture, then sometimes the cpu load of the CS6 process is constant on 25%. I tried the graphic advanced settings in CS6 from light, normal, extended. With the light setting it happens not so often, but sometimes it is there.
My driver version is 310.90, but this happened also with previous versions or with beta 313.96.
My graphic card is a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 470 Super Overclock with two different monitors connected.
Does anyone else have this problem?
I want to buy a newer Nvidia card in the near future, but it would be not so good if the problems persists.
Here you can see a screenshot from the Process-Explorer.
I can work more or less with CS6, that is not the problem, but the constant cpu load bothers me.
Maybe someone have some ideas to solve this?
    Thanks!
    Bye

Photoshop demands a lot of the system, but it doesn't normally run in a loop like that.  It sounds like you have a specific nVidia driver problem.
    Does everything else work right?
You might see if nVidia offers any advice on their support site for how to clean old driver remnants out of your system that might have accumulated, then install the latest driver again.
Have you tried changing the various settings in Edit - Preferences - Performance, in the [Advanced] section?  Your card should be capable of Advanced operation, but maybe as a workaround you could try Basic mode (making sure to close and restart Photoshop before testing).  If nothing else it could help isolate the issue further.   Since in Normal and Advanced modes the monitor color management is done in the GPU (and in the CPU in Basic mode), it might be interesting to see whether switching to Basic helps.  If it does, you should review what color profiles you have set up for your monitors.  Profiles are complex beasts and they can be screwed up in a variety of ways and cause pretty weird things to happen.
    Good luck.

  • Lenovo T530: Photoshop CC 2014.2 can't detect Nvidia card (340.84)

    I have up-to date Windows 7 x64 SP1 ENG version of windows.
Here is some screens to illustrate the problem
The problem poped up 2 or 3 revisions of Nvidia driver ago with original version of Photoshop CC 2014. As you can see updating program and video card drivers to date, do nothing. And yes, i tried to launch PS with mouse context menu and forcing to use Nvidia chip. In control panel of video card PS is assosiated with Nvidia card too.
These glitchy computers drives me crazy, maybe this is why i quit IT...
    Any suggestions?

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    I've found solution by myself.
When launching PS i've noticed, that GPU activity icon in system tray shows up weird process: sniffer.exe, instead of prospective PS. It seems, that this file somehow interfere with a whole system. Sucker located here:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2014\sniffer.exe
You can rename or even delete it (without aftermath), then launch PS. After this weird manipulation software will recognize Nvidia chip, but you have to wait additional 5-7 seconds in a stucking freeze.
Same delays awaits you when you try to launch external plugins, which are using GPU acceleration.
So, all these actions, is a half measure. I am sit tight on PS 2014.2 and rolling back to old Nvidia drivers 333.11 (all revisions between 333.111 and 340.84 have the same problems, or it is glitchy Adobe?)

  • Erazer doesn't recognize Nvidia Geforce 650 card

In brief, after a series of failed attmepts to repair my H530 desktop, Lenovo replaced it with an Erazer x510, since the H530 was no longer in production. When the Erazer arrived, I was unable to get a video signal. I tried my HDMI and VGA cables. I didn;t have a DVI cable, at the time. I was unaware that the BIOS was set to use the installed card. (In my defense, all my previous PCs used a VGA cable, no matter what the graphics source.) A tech diasbled the card by unplugging the power cable, then reset the BIOS for IGD. Since I was interested in trying the Nvidia card (when life unexpectedly gives you a fairly powerful game machine, it seems like the height of ingratitude not to play games), I bought a DVI-D cable. The monitor couldn't detect a signal. (I tried both AUTO and PEG in the BIOS.) I guess the lack of signla wasn't a complete surprise for several reasons:
    1. The device manager shows only Intel graphics.
    2. There’s an Nvidai control panel, but it gives a message: “Nvidia display settings are not available. An Nvidia graphics card was not detected in your system.”
A file search for “Nvidia” prosduced one hit, from the file GlobalInstallorder.xml
    component order="0x10c5000" name="machine.inf.nvidia_sys.ntx86.nvidiaagp_install, Type=driver, Version=6.1.0.0, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35"/>
The fan on the card does work.
My bios settings (just the ones I believe might be relevant) are:
    CSM [disabled]
    Boot mode auto
    Quick boot [enabled]
    Secure Boot [Enabled]
I would love to be able to use the card. After going to a lot of forums where "graphics card not recognized" produced a hit,  it seems like my options would include:
    Download a driver
Remove the card and reinstall it
    Disable secure boot
    Enable legacy devices
I am hesitant to do anything that might prevent the computer from functioning. It's my work machine, so I don't want to brick it. I downloaded the Nvidia driver, but didn't install it. Is that a safe first step, or should I settle for restricting my play to my PS3 and Xbox 360? Thanks for any helpful suggestions.

  • VXI USB resman fails to recognize VXI technology cards

Using the new USB VXI controllers, resman fails to recognize the VXI technology card in the system.  version 3.5 NIVXI.  VXI tech card is VM9000 base unit, VM6068, VM1602 and VM3618.  Does anyone know the trick to get this working.  It works fine in my old MXI system and works fine with an old embedded controller.

Thanks for the reply but I don't think that is the problem.  I have many other cards in the system and they have no problem just this one card with three addresses on it in one slot.  I think it is a bug in the NI resman software or a bug in the VXITech cards.  But since the VXITech cards work fine in the old systems that I have I think it is a bug in the USB VXI software.  But I need NI to explain or help find this.

  • [BUG] Photoshop CC crashed immediately after selecting NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M GPU

I just started using Photoshop CC trial and I immediately ran into problem with my video card.
First Photoshop doesn't recognized my GPU which is Nvidia GTX 680M. I'm using a new Alienware R4 with Win8 pro, I then searched the forum and followed this thread
Photoshop CS6 doesn't recognize my NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675M GPU?http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1157982
After following the instruction now Photoshop CC is supposely using my NVIDIA GPU, but it immediately crashed after launching, for both 32 bits and 64 bits. My NVIDIA driver version is 320.49 600 series, the latested one I just updated. If I deselect the NVIDIA option in the control panel I no longer suffer the crash problem but as you know there is a reported problem with Intel HD4000 integrated GPU where screen flickering keeps happening if you use a toolbox. To avoid the problem the only thing I can do is to deselect the use GPU option in CC option (changing the mode advanced setting doesn't help). By deselcting the GPU option get rid of the problem but there is another problem with zooming: it cannot zoom in real time anymore, instead it's having a toolbox where you choose a reagion and it will jump to that region, and I can only zoom in by doing this, not zooming out.
So basically I had a problem with NVIDIA which crashes CC immediately and a problem with Intel HD4000 integrated GPU with flickering screen and another problem with no GPU selected where I cannot zoom in real time. Whatever I do always give me some sets of problem that I can't solve.
BTW I haven't try CS6 yet, I may proceed to download a trial copy and I thought CC and CS6 are using the same core. Nevertheless, those problem should definately be looked into.
    Any helps? Thanks in advance.

  • Scandisk or defrag fail to recognize hd volume

    hello all, and happy holidays.
i've had this issue b4 but didnt pay too much attention to it, but now it has happened again so i am a bit bothered.
i have seagate 7200.7 120GB sata drive with ncq hooked to the nvidia sata controller #2.
The drive has 8 volumes (c-j), c,d,e,g,h are ntfs, the others fat32.
Sometime when my computer hangs and i've to reset it, scandisk fails to recognize some volumes (totally random this time f,i, always fat32) as valid win xp volumes.
I can still open these volumes and read and write to them, but cant run defrag (i use disk keeper pro) on them, or for that matter anyother hdd tools like windows scandisk etc.
Now when ever i reboot, scandisk kicks in complaining that it cant scan non-xp drives.
My options include turning off scandisk, reformatting (loads of data on them, really not a good option), find out whats causing it!!
So anyone here help me work on option three
Rest of the system is in the signature.
    thanks.

    Hello again tcdm1972,
This quote from a MicroMat technician is misleading and makes me wonder about abusingly promoting defragmentation (and using their products) as so necessary.
Yes, in certain rare cases one might benefit from defragmenting HD and HD free space, but in Mac OS X it is not so black and white question.
    - In the more general usage of Mac OS X, defragmentation is actually counter-productive and defeats the very clever way Mac OS X has to rewrite every file on-the-fly onto the best possible location at this very moment, each time an application uses it.
Best location on the hard drive varies, depending on many more criteria than the simple contiguity.
About the term "optimization" in Apple software installs:
I find it misleading too, as all it optimizes is the launching of applications in Mac OS X
(it's the "update_prebinding" command really, nothing to do with defragmentation).
    About OnyX, Yasu etc:
These too are small utilities to run quite harmless Terminal commands. They don't play in the same fields, nothing neither to do with defragmentation.
DiskWarrior too has yet another approach: Directory handling.
So, your original question about using iDefrag:
    On their website they state
"To defragment your boot volume, you need to boot from a different volume"
    as I said.
In your case, the solution is clear:
since you have two boot partitions on your HD,
    - boot from Partition 1 to defrag Partition 2,
    and
    - boot from Partition 2 to defrag Partition 1.
That is, a copy of iDefrag installed on each of your Mac OS X volumes.

  • Can no longer run multiseat w/ 2 nvidia cards

    Hello,
I've had a working multiseat configuration for a while now, though I haven't used it in about 3 months. I switched to this configuration a few days ago (by uncommenting lines in the Xservers file, like I always do). The problem is now I am getting this error in Xorg where the first seat that should start does not, instead it displays no video (and the monitor goes to sleep as if it wasn't connected but still powered on), while the second seat starts and runs normally. Here is the Xorg log with the errors toward the end:

It looks like this is the issue ^, I have googled it with nothing interesting to show. I don't know what it is , but I have a feeling it might be a bug in the nvidia drivers since I have updated them since I last ran my multiseat. Also I think it is interesting how the errors seem to be happening on GPU-1, even though GPU-0 is the one that goes blank. Please I appreciate any help.

I have the same exact problem with Kubuntu 11.10 and 3 NVidia cards. My multiseat starts correctly on all 3 displays, but after I logout from seat 2 or 3 I get there

  • [SOLVED] Bumblebee/bbswitch Not Disabling Nvidia Card

Hello all.  I've been able to resolve a wide variety of problems by searching through the posts here, but it seems I've come up empty on this one.
I'm running Arch on a Sager NP5160 (Clevo W150HN), i7-2630 QM, 8 GB RAM, running Optimus with an Nvidia GT 540M Optimus setup.
I've had Bumblebee and bbswitch running fine in the past, but recently I needed to reinstall Arch (my own fault).
I installed bumblebee and bbswitch again, as described on the wiki.
However, once everything is installed and configured, bbswitch is still unable to deactivate my Nvidia card.
I'm using the proprietary Nvidia driver.
I have verified that bumblebee.conf has the driver set to Nvidia (not nouveau), and uses bbswitch.
I have also tried blacklisting both nouveau and nvidia, as well as adding bbswitch to the modules section of my mkinitcpio.conf file (and regenerating the initramfs).
A curious point that I have noted is that the Nvidia card is disabled during boot, and up until I login.
Once my information loads, the Nvidia card is activated and I cannot deactivate it, even manually.
Here is the dmesg output when I run glxspheres64 using bumblebee:

Sorry to bump this, but I've found some more information.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure what to do with it yet.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the relevant packages outlined in the Bumblebee wiki.
When my laptop boots, the Nvidia card is disabled up until I log in, at which point it appears to be perpetually enabled, unless the Optimus indicator lights are showing incorrectly.
This is the log output I receive when I run optimus glxspheres64:

  • Problem with NVIDIA card

    Hello,
I'm using a Sony VAIO-VGNFE41Z notebook with the NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 graphics card. Approximately four days ago the card started to display artifacts on the screen even before the appearance of the VAIO logo during the BIOS initialization process. These artifacts look like green dotted squares, blue randomly placed rectangles and vertical green dotted lines. Since these artifacts appear even before grub takes over the boot process, I really think that this is a hardware issue.
After the appearance of these artifacts the X server doesn't start up but I still have access to the text console and "nvidia-debugdump -l" displays the following:
NVIDIA: could not open the device file /dev/nvidia0 (Input/output error).
    Error: nvmlInit(): Driver Not Loaded
What bothers me however is the fact that I've been using Archlinux on my notebook for approximately one year and before that I used Windows XP for approximately seven years. So my question is whether or not it is possible that the proprietary NVIDIA drivers somehow slowly "destroyed" the graphics card perhaps due to incorrect temperature readings? This is the installation history for these proprietary drivers:

Is it possible that the last update on 2015-04-07 somehow messed up the graphics card? Although I find it weird, because the problems didn't appear until 2015-04-10. Nevertheless the temperature readings don't seem to work. Here's the result of nvidia-smi:

The temperature for the GPU isn't shown. However I don't know, whether or not it's supposed to be this way for the GO 7600 graphics card. Here are the details of an lspci call:

Today the screen suddenly went dark and it became impossible to switch off the laptop. I had to pull (and then insert) the power cable and restart the system. Here's the output of Xorg.0.log.old, journalctl:

So what do you think? Could these problems have been caused by gradual overheating of the graphics card for approximately one year? Or maybe the last driver update somehow messed up the graphics card? I need to know this, because I want to know, whether the problem will repeat itself if I buy another Go 7600 and replace the buggy graphics card with another GO 7600. If it's a "gradual overheating due to a faulty driver"-issue the next card will probably stop working as well after one year. It's interesting to note that nvidia-smi doesn't display the Fan Speed for this graphics card. Does this card have a built-in fan?
    Thanks for your help.
