.php associated with Quicktime as movie! Global reset impossible.

After the latest System/Quicktime update all my .php files are associated with Quicktime.
Using Get Info -> Open with: TextEdit.app works for a single file.
Using Change All ... resets everything to QuickTime again regardless of the setting and the text in the Change All panel.
Who had this BRILLIANT idea of using the .php extension for Quicktime !?!?!?
This person should be immediately awarded a Nobel price for creative nonsense!

What is the best way to tell,
The "About" window contains the QT symbol with the word "Pro" superimposed on it, The Registration window says QT 7 Pro" below the key, you can export to other compression formats, you can acces the properties window, etc.

You purchase and enter a QT 7 Pro key from the Apple store for $29.99 to unlock the QT 7 Player's "Pro" features.
Also, is there an easier way of dropping in a new image to the movie's "Get info" besides taking a screenshot of the exact frame I want?
Depends on what you consider "easier" and whether or not you want the frame taken from the file or somewhere else. With QT Pro you can simply select the exact frame desired and "export" it as a "Picture" for dropping in the "Info" Window. Sometime I create a custom frame in Photoshop using a background and title of my own making or simply "trim" a teatrical poster, DVD, or video cassette image to use as a custom Finder icon image. The basic question is, "How much work do you want to invest and how good do you want it to look?" The choices are entirely up to you.
FYI: If you don't have QT 7 Pro, you can gain many (but not all) of the "Pro" features using the free MPEG Streamclip application available on the Internet.

Im having trouble getting sound in any of the videos I play in iTunes or Quicktime. It happened when I had my last software update I think, but it also effects any movie and most audio files in my web browsers. Any ideas on how to get my sound back? thanks!

Compressor problems with Quicktime

i am trying to watch a movie link that was sent to me. i uploaded the latest version of QT and it still will not play. it says that the required compressor could not be found. How can I fix this? I use windows. thanks!!

When you install QuickTime it installs a basic set (most common) of compressors/de-compressors. These are known as codecs.
When you try and open a file that uses a third party codec your are usually sent to a QuickTime URL for the download. Trouble is you don't know which to download.
If you can open the file with QuickTime the Movie Info window (Control-i) should help you determine what video or audio codec is in the file. Some common names are DivX and 3ivX . These codecs are offered by third party companies and most (basic viewing) are free downloads.
Other files you may come across may use even more third party codecs or may not even open via QuickTime Player.
There are many third party players you can try.
Do a Google search for VLC and try to open the file using it.

Can you please reset the "This Device Is Already Associated With an Apple ID"

So, i had an ipod touch 4th generation 64gb and have bought any movies and music. I got an ipod touch 5th gen 64gb for christmas and backed up all my stuff from previous ipod (4th) to it. My plan was to Use the 5th gen for games an photos ans social networks. And the 4th gen for Movies an music. On the 4th gen I created a new apple ID. When I went to the store I logged into my son's apple ID, to get one movie i had purchased for him, so i could have it on my device, so i wouldn't have to buy it again. After i downloaded that, i logged in back to my original ID, not the one i used to make a new one (4th), so i could get the movies i have bought previously. When i tried to do this, this came up- "This Device Is Already Associated With an Apple ID". So now i can't download the movies i had purchased previously. Can someone tell me how to reset this. Because I really dont want to wait 90 days to download these movies.

Sorry but there is no way to override the 90 day timer once it starts.

Show days left until reset based on date and condition associated with date

What I need to do is display the number of days until I have to reset a flight condition (FS Column) based on a set number of days (60 days). I have several colums of information but the two I would use is a Date Column and the FS Column(drop down menu with text for options). I would need to be able to look at certain FS options and use the date associated with it to subtract from 60.
If FS= "NG" use date associated with it to add 60 days, and then use that date to compare it with today's date to show how many days are left till the 60 day mark.
So if the last "NG" was Jan 1, 2011 and today was Feb 1, 2011 I would want one cell to show 30 days and another cell to show Mar 2, 2011.
I need to fly in a certain condition once every 60 days. I want to show how many days left I have until I need to reset that 60 day counter. Also, I would like to have another cell show the date associated with the day I would need to reset that counter on.
Unfortunately I am in a limited internet environment so I can not post a picture of my spreadsheet. Sorry for the over explination, trying to make it as clear as possible first go round.

Ahh, thank you! What a pain in the neck. I figure I must have been signed into his account at some other point in time, maybe after... watching a movie..? [Though, that'd be the iTunes store, right? Not the App Store.] Anyway, some situation must've occured where I absentmindedly updated and iPhoto is now tied up with his account.
I'll go ahead and contact support to see if they can get me sorted. I suppose I can just ask him for his password, but.. oh, you know, it's a temporary solution and I guess I was just hoping to easily get iPhoto properly associated with myself again. Thank you!

Hi Allan, thanks for that. I've already set up a log in for my wife and that is all working fine. The problem is that when she logs in and opens iTunes and trys to associate her library with her iTunes account she gets the error message "This computer is already associated with another iTunes account". Whilst this is true, the computer is associated with my iTunes account under my separate log in, which should have nothing to do with hers. If she transfers the association to her account it will lock me out of my content on my log in for 90 days - I'm trying to work out how to associate each of the log in accounts with a separate iTunes account so we can access our music independently of one another without locking each other out. Hope that makes sense!

Well I changed the email for the same account, however I used '.com' instead of '.co.uk' which obviously caused alot of complications. After about an hour on the phone this is all sorted out now and I am left with one apple id, but this is still happening. If this makes no sense to anyone I don't blame you as it took me a good half hour to get my own head round it.

Or you'll have to delete the apps and then download (pay again or free) using your Apple ID.
