PHP user management system

I have been using an ASP based user management system with an
Access
database and it has worked very well, however, I need to
implement a similar
system on a Linux server. I know you can password protect
sections of the
site using htaccess but I want something similar to what I
get with the ASP
system, ie user reg page and redirection pages for those who
enter wrong
details, duplicate usernames, password recovery, etc. Nothing
fancy, just
the basic functions to allow people to access restricted
areas of the site.
No payment will be involved, my client just wants to limit
access to certain
parts of the site to registered users.
Can anyone recommend something simple and easy to setup and
use? Either a DW
extension or standalone, bearing in mind I don't know PHP but
I can edit
code with a little guidance...

Solaris 11.2 User Manager System Error

Has anyone encountered a system error when attempting to add users as the root role or executing the user manager from the cli as root?
I can use the gui manager after a user has been created in the staff group. I run into issue creating the user as root in any group but staff and any default shell outside of /usr/bin/bash.
Example - Using gui to create user in ftp group with /bin/bash as login shell with auto set for userid and home directory.

Web Based User Management

Hey guys,
Any suggestions on how to have a web based user management system? I am looking for users to be able to change their user passwords from the web.
Either to the local NetInfo or the Open Directory.
Most of my users just use mail / webmail services and I want them to be able to change their passwords easily.
I have looked into Usermin (usermin.com), but wonder if there is a better solutions.

Error While creating users in managed system.

Dear All,
I am configuring SAP Solution Manager 7.1. I am in stage of Managed System Configuration (for JAVA).
In step 6 Create user: While creating (System) user SM_COLL_<SID> I am getting error :
An error occurred while processing the UME command READ_USER from agent <hostname> : Server returned: 401 Unauthorized. Please check SMD agent application logs.
And for ABAP System,
SMDAGENT_XXX Technical User (in Managed System <SID> Client 000)
while creating user SMDAGENT_<SID> and SAPSUPPORT
I am getting error:
No CENTRAL nor DIALOG instance known for system <SID>
But in SM51 I can see Server Status Active.
and Users are not present.(Checked it through SU01)
I am not getting why this is happening.
Please help me regarding the same.

Document Management Systems for Home User

Hello!
I'm just a regular home user with a bunch of incoming snail (paper) mail. To get rid of the hassle to file the incoming stuff permanently I plan to scan it immediately and dispose afterwards.
I would prefer a document management system to just putting the scanned files in a folder. All DMS I found so far I rather enterprise grade (like Alfreso, Agorum Core).
EDIT:
Desired features would be:
- Tagging (hierarchical)
- Key - Value pairs attachted to the document
- Preview
- Indexing (of text documents)
Since I've never used a DMS before I'm not sure what is desriable.
How do you handle similiar situations?
System is KDE. Maybe there is a possibility to use the nepomuk tagging system...

Managed System Configuration Super User Issue

Hi folks ,
I have a strange error in Solman SP8 Managed System Config .
In Step 5 : "Enter System Parameters" , for entering super user , it throws an error even though the user credentials are valid.
This happens for some of the managed systems only . The error says : " Issue with connection to system <SID> <Client>".
It does not seem to be using the right RFC and I feel it is checking for the user in 000 client , regardless of which client we give . Because if we give 000 credentials it works.
Please help . As without this I cannot save any of the system parameters like Load Balancer URL etc.

I have seen this exact issue when my IE cached the page and was stuck with the client 000 RFC's selected on step 3. I just exit managed sys config and clear my cache and start solman_setup again. To avoid this all together I set my IE to check for newer versions of stored pages every time I visit page. (under internet options -> general -> browsing history -> tempory internet files)
Then
In step 3 create the user to avoid security issues or auditor problems later on. This way the SM_ADMIN_XXX will have the proper roles required. Please note (The user is not authorized to use a Trusted RFC (authorization object S_RFCACL). To authorize the user, assign the role SAP_SM_S_RFCACL manually).
Confirm there is no error and hit next. For an explicit save.
Now go to step 5 and select the client that the RFC's were created on and hit test credentials.
This should solve your issue.

I don't find anything where I can provide the user information. It just uses the actual user (SOLMAN_ADMIN). Can you tell me where to provide the user for this step?

SourceFire management system error when I try to delete a user agent

I'm running into an issue with the Sourcefire management system. When I try to delete a user agent within Sourcefire I get redirected to an error page.
Running 5.3. I have attached the error.

Managed system user locking because of solman_setup wrong information

Hello,
Each time I go to solman_setup -> Managed system,
there are two systems with a red point because of non
working rfc connection.
When I reconfigure them (3. connect managed system), I change the
user/password to connect to the managed system.
But our solman still connects to the managed system with the wrong
username and password.
Then the user is locked in the managed system (too many connections with a wrong password),
How could I proceed to tell solman to stop using the old username
password provided?

I has similar issue some time back, please have a look at below link.
RFC error in third step while performing managed system configuration
reset the password and retry, and try to check dump in both the system, solman and system which you are trying to do manage system config.
Even after this you are getting error, please paste the screen shot or attach the error.

Managed System Setup Wizard: which J2EE-Admin-User

Hello,
I'm running the managed system setup wizard in the diagnostic.
In the setup of the parameters, I have to enter the J2EE-Admin-User. But which one?
I tried:
SMD_AGT_ADM (Dialog user with admin roles on both stacks)
SMD_AGT_ADM (Communications user with admin roles on both stacks)
The user was created by me before the setup. But regardless of the user settings, I get the following error:
A logon failure occured on frces4139/SM7/00 (192.168.1.139).
System Setup aborted, to prevent locking the User Account.
Please check error details, specify a valid User/Password if necessary, and start Setup again
Any ideas? Which user or user settings have to be maintained?

I think the user you need to enter here is the j2ee_admin user or another user with SAP_J2EE_ADMIN role.

CALL_FUNCTION_SINGLE_LOGIN_REJ with user SOLMAN_BTC in managed systems

Hi solution manager guru's,
I have a issue with a shortdump in the managed systems. Solution Manager is trying to connect with SOLMAN_BTC via the trusted connection to the managed system. But SOLMAN_BTC doen't exist in the managed systems and the shortdump is created. I can't find the process / batch job that triggers the communication.
Now, the solution could be creating solman_btc in the managed systems but I'm curious if someone can tell me what process is triggering the communication?

SolMan-User switch the Trace on/off in managed System

Hello,
I faced the follow problem. I need a trace in some managed System through 2 or 3 days. If start the Trace in ST01 in some satellite system (ERP-PRO for example ) this will be interrupted by SOLMANCSM100 at certain time daily. I analyzed the Batch jobs but fond nothing.
Does somebody noes what process or job do it and where is it?

Based on my checks, in my opinion its best to open an OSS msg, as most of the time it will require the message processor on SAP side to apply some internal tool to resolve this. Since it is a matter with package stuck scenario.
You may want to open under BC-UPG-OCS

SAPJSF user cannot log-on to the User Management Engine.

We have a newly installed PI 7.0 system.
SLDCHECK is succussful but if we go to the http://hostname:50100/sld - we are redirected to http://hostname:50100/logon/logonServlet?redirectURL=%2Fwebdynpro%2Fdispatcher%2Fsap.com%2Ftc%7Esld%7Ewd%7Emain%2FMain
When we check the default.trc file, we see the error: User "SAPJSF" is the communication user for the connection between User Management Engine and the ABAP backend system SIDCLNTxyz. This user cannot log-on to the User Management Engine.
The SAPJSF user is not locked in SU01. This user is used by the JCO providers to connect to the gateway service.
We opened Visual Administrator and navigated to Server0 -> Services -> UM Provider
We changed the password property at ume.r3.connection.master.passwd
We then restarted the ABAP and J2EE engine. But we still see this error.
Any help to solve this issue is appreciate.
