PI2.0 - parameterized configuration via templates

Hello,
I tried tu use csv file import as a method to can provide mass rollouts with device individual parameters also.
Q1: is this possible in generall?
If I try this, I get an error message: "Empty csv file. Import From csv Failed"
The csv isnt empty, but maybe wrong formatted, because its an not documented feature.
Q2: What is the right format or in other words what is wrong in following csv? On which log-file at the ade# I have a chance to can catch the real cause?

The variables in the template are $device,$location,$contact,$trap1,$tc,$syslog1, the device name matches the name used in Prime Infrastructure exactly. Should I use Management IP addresses in place?
many thx for hints in advance, Steffen

The change events are syslog messages
Do you see syslog messages from the switches in the PI GUI?
You can configure a tcpdump to listen for syslogs on port upd 514.
That way you know if the switches have sent anything and from what source IP.

Michel

• Define Tabs and Process Configuration for Template (HAP_TA_CONF)

I am currently building a new appraisal template for my client and I have configured the process timeline in the development system via the IMG node Define Tabs and Process Configuration for Template (transaction code HAP_TAB_CONF).
Does anyone know how to transport the tabs and process configuration through the system landscape?
We are on SAP ECC 6.0 Enhancement Pack 4

Hi Sushil,
I have used the report RHMOVE30 as you recommended and it worked perfectly in one run. I did not have to create custom relationships. I simply selected all the Process Item (VH) objects for my appraisal template and ran the report.
Many thanks for your help. It has saved me having to configure the tabs and process timeline in each client.

• Creating Parameters in RTF Template for BI Publisher Report

hi,
I have created Parameters in my BI Publisher Report and in SQL query. But i need to create same parameters in RTF Template , so that when i publish this report in dashboard , parameters will be visible. Can you please tell me how to create Parameters in RTF Template for BI Publisher Report ? I am not finding option. Please let me know .
Thanks in advance
Gayathri.

all the parameter's value will be there in your xml .
just you need to add parameter heading and corresponding xml tag name to get the parameter value on the report.
if u dont have you can try like below
https://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/entry/get_your_parameters_here_guv
Declare Parameter in RTF Template
Before you use the parameter in the RTF template file you need to declare it first. You can do so by having the following syntax.
<?param@begin:%parameter_name%?>
Note: where %parameter_name% is the parameter name that you have created at the BI Publisher Server UI.
Here is an example:
<?param@begin:param1?>
Use it in RTF Template!
Once it’s declared in the RTF template you can start using it as the same way you use the variable. You need to just add ‘$’ prefix in front of the parameter name. Here is the example:
<?$param1?>
The above example would print the parameter value in the report output. If you want to use this value in your condition or calculation you can simply use it as ‘$param1’. Yes, it’s that simple.
If you are not sure if and how the parameter values are passed to the report when you run the report you can use this command in your RTF template, which will return all the parameter values passed to the RTF template at the runtime.
<?xdoxslt:getXDOProperties($_XDOCTX)?>

• Define Tabs and Process Configuration for Template

Hi All
I would like to give the local HR the ability to define Tabs and Process Configuration for Template
The only way I can find to create these definitions is using SPRO and I don't want to give HR users SPRO
Is there a transaction which will allow the HR users to define Tabs and Process Configuration for Template?
Thanks
Maya

You can try this URL:
http://server.domain:port/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/hap_configuration?WDCONFIGURATIONID=HAP_AC_TAB_CONF
Just change server, domain and port to match your SAP instance.

• Auto-Managed configurations via WLSE 2.15

I'm managing a very large roll out of AIR-AP1131AG access points, all in autonomous mode, using a WLSE running version 2.15.
Due to the current network environment, these are all being shipped out with a basic configuration as there is no dhcp service at the remote sites. I'm then using the WLSE to push out a full config to the newly installed access points.
I can manually create a configuration job and push out the final config to access points that have already been discovered and managed by the WLSE. However, I've never been able to get the Auto-Managed config option to work - the WLSE never attempts to push a config when the devices are first discovered and managed.
I hope I'm just missing something (not so) obvious in the WLSE config.
In the WLSE interface, under Configure->Auto Update->Auto-Managed Configuration->Assign Templates, I have a template created, the Enable box is checked, I have a known-good configuration template selected, and under Matching Criteria: I have Device Types checked with AP 1130 in the selection box. I also have Update device credentials checked and Copy Running configuration to Startup configuration checked.
Under Auto-Managed Configuration Options I have SSH selected as the protocol, and Email results of auto-managed configuration jobs to (my email address).
The WLSE never tries to push a config to access points when they're first managed, so I have to manually find the newly-discovered access points and create a configuration job to push the configs to them.
I have a TAC case open on this issue, but I'm having a tough time just getting the TAC engineer to respond.
What might I be missing here?
Thanks...

Such issues have happened occaisonally . I usually go about by resetting and reconfiguring WLSE from the beginning. Now I have plans to upgrade the software to see if it resolves the issue.

• Prime Infrastructure and WLAN Configuration Controller Templates

Hello,
I work with PI v1.2 in customer environment. This app has SNMP relation with 7 controllers (4 controllers in 2 WiSM modules, 3 controllers are standalone). All controllers uses WLANs which I sometimes need to update. I would like to use the PI so that update all of them in one step. But when I use WLAN Configuration Controller Templates and choose given WLAN Template then the PI answer me with error message: "Unknown Exception Occured. If the problem persists send logs to the Tech Support."
Have you anyone had such a problem? Is it any bug of the application?
Thank you.

Yes, you should be able to discover templates from the WLC

• CONFIGURATION OF TEMPLATES FOR IPCC AGENTS

Suppose I have 100 agents in a Cisco IPCC Express environment, and I want to asignate them some skills. Is there any way of configuring a "template", so I can make bulk modifications or I have to make all changes one by one?
Thank you very much!

No. CCX does not have a BAT Template-type concept. Your closest option will be the Assign Skills option within RmCm Configuration. This will let you assign skills to multiple agents all at once.

• How to Invoke Oracle Configurator via URL Outside the APPS Firewall

Hi Gurus,
We would like to invoke Oracle Configurator via URL same as Oracle iStore. Please let me know the process/steps to meet the requirement.
Thanks in Advance,
Venky.

There is no restriction that Oracle Configurator may only be executed from within an Oracle hosting application. Configurator may be invoked from any application that has the ability to call Configurator's UI servlet. As an example, Astec (now part of Emerson Network Power) has had a Configurator application they call their "Power Wizard" on their public website for nearly eight years (http://www.powerconversion.com/powerwizard/).
Venky, I would recommend you search My Oracle Support for articles containing 'configurator firewall' or 'configurator ssl', and then filter the results to just EBS articles. If what you find there is not helpful, opening a Support Request to get information more tailored to your particular scenario may be advisable.

• OS Configuration in template VS OS Configuration in GUST OS Profile

Experts !
SCVMM 2012 R2 with Windows Server 2012 R2.
I have the template created which has OS Customization selected while creating the template.
I have also defined OS Profiles which has the run as account, local admin password and set the attribute
DomainJoinOrganizationalUnit as "OU=Group1,OU=Hosting,OU=Servers,DC=domain,DC=com" using powershell.
Here is the screen shot of the Gust OS Profile.
If I create a VM using this template along with this OS profile, which setting will get precedence?
I tried different combination and I always feel that only the configuration on template is getting precedence.
I started digging into this as I couldn't never get the VM created on the OU configured on OS Profile. Computer was always getting created on the default computers OU. So I tried to change the settings in the template to join into a work-group instead of
the domain. So the template is set to "WorkGroup" and the profile is set to "Join to domain" and I see that computer was not joined to the domain and was in the work group.
Any help much appreciated !
Cheers

Bump. Struggling trying to sort out the same here and the TechNet guidance is definitely lacking. Also cannot get a VM to deploy from a Win 7 template without specifying some dummy account for the Administrator Password setting, which is ridiculous.
I just want to set the Administrator password...

• "No parameters provided for template"

I am trying to compile a utility class which makes use of the stdLib queue class where we set up our queue as a private member, declared to be a queue as follows:
class rawMsg{
class rawMsgQue {
private:
queue<rawMsg *> myQueue;
A rawMsgQue object is created as a member of an outputWriter class in our io package.
The code compiles and runs fine using gcc, but when trying to compile using the Forte WS6U2 package (Sun Solaris 2.6), we keep getting the "no parameters provided for template" error, even though compatibility is defaulted to 5 (according to docs). Any Ideas?

Please provide a code example that could in theory be compiled as-is. If you add the necessary header, the code compiles with Forte Developer 6 Update 2 latest patch, so there's no way to tell what your actual problem might be, if any.
Revised code sample:
#include <queue>
using std::queue;
class rawMsg{
class rawMsgQue {
queue<rawMsg *> myQueue;

• Date Parameters in Data Templates..

Mornin all..
How are you using date parameters in your Data templates..?
I'm trying to run a Conc Program that has a date parameter. in ORACLE Con Program the value set is setup to retrieve the format dd-MON-yyyy.
I also have this format specified in the Data Template..
<parameter name="p_paydate_from" dataType="character" />
<parameter name="p_paydate_to" dataType="character" /> ..and then again in the SELECT statement..
<![CDATA[
SELECT DISTINCT.......
TO_CHAR(ip.creation_date, 'dd-MON-yyyy') Paid_Date, sfc.faculty_code Faculty, etc..
FROM
WHERE
AND TRUNC(ip.creation_date) BETWEEN NVL(:p_paydate_from, '01-JAN-1999') AND NVL(:p_paydate_to, '31-DEC-2299')...
]]>..yet when I run the report it just ignores the data parameter and returns all records..
I know that if that this was done in ORACLE Reports I'd have to place this in AfterPFormTrigger..
IF :p_paydate_from is not null then
:lp_paydate_from := 'and ip.accounting_date >= to_date(:p_paydate_from, ''YYYY/MM/DD HH24:MI:SS'')' ;
ELSE      :lp_paydate_from := '';
END IF;
IF :p_paydate_to is not null then
:lp_paydate_to := 'and ip.accounting_date <= to_date(:p_paydate_to, ''YYYY/MM/DD HH24:MI:SS'')' ;
ELSE       :lp_paydate_to := '';
END IF; Question is - do I have to create a trigger and put it into my data template or am I working the date parameter wrongly..? How do you use date parameters in your Data templates..?
Many thanks for Looking..

Thanks for the comments.
I am able to return records when using the code in the SELECT statement via TOAD.
I've tried specifying dates in the parameter section but it was just the same error.
The error message given when I include these date parameters when in run the Conc Program is..
[051410_022803764][][STATEMENT] 8: p_paydate_from:2010/01/01 00:00:00
[051410_022803764][][STATEMENT] 9: p_paydate_to:2010/01/21 00:00:00
--SQLException
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01861: literal does not match format string
at oracle.jdbc.dbaccess.DBError.throwSqlException(DBError.java:134)I know what the problem is, I just done know how to fix it. I'll try to explain. In ORACLE reports
In the Conc Program (running the report) The date can be entered in the format 'DD-MON-YYYY'
In the Report Oracle sends this date to the report in the format 'YYYY/MM/DD HH24:MI:SS'. To accept this date in the report the easiest method is to.....
1. Create the date parameter as a varchar(20) instead of a date type
2. In the After Parameter Trigger convert the date either into a local variable or into a lexical variable (used in the SQL query) by using the code
to_date(:p_date_parameter_name, '''YYYY/MM/DD HH24:MI:SS'')
srw.message(10, 'P Date from ' ||:p_date_from);
if :p_paydate_from is not null then
:Lp_paydate_from := 'and trunc(...............) >= to_date(:p_paydate_from,''YYYY/MM/DD HH24:MI:SS'')';
:disp_date_from := to_char(to_date(:p_paydate_from,'YYYY/MM/DD HH24:MI:SS'),'DD-MON-YYYY');
srw.message(10, 'LP Date from ' ||:lp_paydate_from);
end if; etc etc etc.. end if;I know that if I can convert it somewhere somehow using that 'to_date(:p_paydate_from,...' thing then I reckon it should work..
I'm currently trying to figure out (a tad rusty at PLSQL now) how can I create an afterpform trigger to be called in the data template that does the above (basically just to convert the date format)..
PLease tell me there is an easier way!
Thanks!

• Package Configuration via SQL Server For a Reporting Queue

The scenario is a reporting queue for a web application. Currently when a user queues a report it stores the parameters in a table by queue ID. When that report is set to run the database creates a dtexec command with all the parameters. We use this
method for transferring the values the user selected to the SSIS packages.
I have used SQL Server package configurations before but they are usually a single table with a distinct ConfigurationFilter column. Is it possible to take the standard table layout for the SQL Server package configuration and add another column, say
QueueID. We send the QueueID to each package at run time and use this value to filter the table to the configuration specific to that report?

Here is a better break down of the current process:
1. A user goes to the web application and selects a report/parameters.
2. This will add data to [QUEUE] and [QUEUE_PARAMETERS] tables associated by the QUEUE_ID
3. The server has a windows service which looks for reports in the [QUEUE] table in pending status and gets the next one available and calls a stored procedure with that QUEUE_ID.
4. The stored procedure puts together a dtexec command through xp_cmdshell which contains all the user parameters from the [QUEUE_PARAMETERS] table.
The purposed process is to replace the self made [QUEUE_PARAMETERS] table with the package configuration table. This means we would only have to send the QUEUE_ID via the dtexec command and not all the other parameters. The problem is that if
I add QUEUE_ID to the package configuration table I am not sure how I would reference a specific QUEUE_ID from the SSIS package configuration dynamically. There does not appear to be an expression that can be applied to the package configuration in SSIS
which means the relationship must make the ConfigurationFilter field unique, even though it is not a primary key.

• Configuration via UCS CLI

Good Day/Evening to all,
I am fairly new to UCS and was wondering if someone could shed light on configuring multiple instances of vlans, vnics, vhba's, vsans etc in one operation via CLI.
I've gone through Tue UCS guide for CLI bit so far haven't managed to across this and I'm hoping someone can assist.
Many thanks
Sent from Cisco Technical Support Android App

Unfortunately, you won't be able to create all this with a single operation. Note that the vnics, vhbas are elements of the service profile, so you have to create the service profile before you can add any vnics or vhbas. Also in the service profile you can assign vlans to the respective vnics, but you must first create these vlans on the fabrics.
One option you have is to create a service profile template and use it to create other service profiles, but this will also take multiple operation.
