Picking files from trp server

hi..
one thing i am not able to understand sometimes xi system is unable to pick the file from the ftp server i have checked all commmunication channals parameters every thing is ok.
some times it picks the file and sometime it doesnot..
i would be greatful if you could help me in this regard.

2. give all permission to your file, maens...right click on file and click on properties. then give all permission to file so that XI server can read this file.

SSIS 2012 -Not Executing file from other server.

I am working on SQL 2012
I have a SSIS Package -
1) Execute SQL Task - calling Storeprocedure
my StoreProcesdure contain OpenRowser Query which Pull Data from Excel and Load into SQL Table.
Scenario 1
On Development Server example IP: (10.11.12.13)- File is present in D\ExcelSource\ folder of dev server
1)My SP Run/execute successfuly on SSMS
2)MY SSIS package execute successfuly which contain above SP
Scenario 2
I have deployed SP and SSIS to production server
On Production server example IP: (10.11.12.100)- File is Still Present in D\ExcelSource\ folder of dev server
1) MY SP Execute successful on SSMS Picking file from '\\10.11.12.13\D\ExcelSource\' folder
2) SSIS Package Fails where SP is picking file from '\\10.11.12.13\D\ExcelSource\' folder
"exec [dbo].[spLoadexcelEMPdata]" failed with the following error: "Cannot initialize the data source object of OLE DB provider "Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0" for linked server "(null)".".
Possible failure reasons: Problems with the query, "ResultSet" property not set correctly, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly.
3)When I copy excel file from dev to prod server and Give prod server path ,then SSIS package execute Successfully
NOTE :
a)ACE.OLEDB 64 bit (2010 )driver is installed on prod server
b)Same SP execute successful in Prod SSMS
c) SSIS and SP execute successful in Dev server
I have even Share development server Folder with everyOne so that File in it is accessible
Also given Read Write permission to excel file and folder
WHY my SSIS package with SP FAIL when Picking file from dev server ??? where as same SP runs fine on SSMS
HOW to resolve this.... ?? Please assist

You just gave more valuable info...
exec [dbo].[spLoadexcelEMPdata] runs locally on the prod machine
Thing is, you have the 64 bit driver, so it might work from the package or SSDT/VS if you set them to 64 Bit mode
It is because the complete office is not necessary for OpenRowset.
I assume, you referenced the driver
OPENROWSET('Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0', 'Excel xyz.0;...

How to Select the Latest file from Application Server?

Dear All,
I am working on object, which had requirement to Pick the file from application server.
The Application server contain the files in /temp/sms/ directory. The files are having the name Like smsqry_yyyymmddhhmmss.txt and I have to Pick the Latest file (Base on file name for eg. 'smsqry_20060713102333) from that all and after getting the file I have to delete the file from application server.
So How to do this.

Problem while reading the file from FTP server

Hi Friends,
I have a problem while fetching files from FTP server.
I used FTP_Connect, FTP_COMMAND function modules. I can able to put the files into FTP server.
but I cant able to pick the files from FTP server.

Hi Umesh,
My understanding on your requirement is to read a file from pres. server and pass the data to an IDoc function module. Am I correct?
If this is the case then you can create a report which picks up the file from pres. server and then read data from the file and pass it to the parameters of the required function module.

Files from FTP server to Application server

Hi All,
I am new to SDN and SAP XI, can anyone tell me whether its possible to move the files (different strcuture files i.e. some are master data files and some are transaction data file) from FTP server to Application server with one interface. Actually the process is already established at clientsite for placing master data files like product, plant etc from FTP server to App server through FTP adapter. Now my requirement is to move transaction data file with completely different structure as master data to App server. If we place these trasaction data file in same folder/directory as master data files does SAP XI pick this file also. If not what are the steps I need to follow to achieve this. I know that if we create new configuration it will work but I question is does master data interface picks this transaction data file also.
Right now our process for master data files is SAP XI picks the files and deletes the file from FTP server folder. The master data file names are plant_attr.csv, product_attr.csv etc and transcation data file name is salestrasactiondata.csv. I need to move these files to application server on daily bases.

Yes it is possible.
There can be two ways of doing it.
1. N:1 mapping, BPM will require for this.
N:1 Mapping refer this blog
IDOCs (Multiple Types) Collection in BPM
BpmPatterns CollectMerge

part2 BPM with Patterns explained Part-2
Second option
Create 3 scanarios in integration directory and correspondingly in integration repositoy create different data types, message types, mappings & interface mappings and then in each of scenario us different message interface and interface mapping.

If you are using N:1 scenario then use *.csv in your sender adapter under file name parameter and then all the files will be picked up from same directory.
If you are using second option (3 different scenarios) then also you can pick the different files from same directory. You will be having 3 sender adapters in this case, So, one for picking master data, and another for product data and the last one for transaction data.
So, in case of master data use "plant_*.csv" as a file name and directory name.
In case of product data, use "product_*.csv " as a file name and source directory will remain same.
similarly do it for transaction data.
So by this way all 3 sender adapters will perform their job to pick the different files from same source directory.

Fetching of multiple files from Application Server into SAP Program

Hi All,
I have a issue related Fetching of multiple files from Application Server into SAP Program.
Actual issue is as below.
In the selection screen of my program i will give Application Server Path as :
/PW/DATA/SAP/D1S/PP/DOWN/eppi0720*
Then the based on above input it should pick up all the files that are matching eppi0720* criteria.
Suppose if i am having 5 files with above scenario, i have to fetch all those 5 files at a time and place in my SAP Program.
All those 5 file's data should come into SAP at a time.
Can anybody tell me how can we solve above issue.
If any body has come across same issue please provide me with solution.

Infopackage-Load Many Files from Application Server and later Archive/Move

I have a doubt,   I have a requirement of take many files to load into BI 7.0.. I used the infopackage before with option:
Load Binary File From Application server
I load information successfully... only with one file ...but If I can load many files (with different names) like the next list.. I think it's not a good idea modify the file name (path) on infopackage each time).. :
*All of this files will be on one server that itu2019s map into AL11.. Like

This directory it's not in BW server.. It's other server..but I can load form this location (one file by one)

You can load the files through infopackage by using Routines and pick the files based on date at the end of the file..***

Create two folders in your BW in Application server level, in AL11 (ask Basis team)
I call it is F1 and F2 folders.
First dump the files into F1 I assume that the file name in F1 is "BW_LOAD_20090120.txt", using Unix code you rename the file and then keep in the same foleder F1 or move to F2.
Then create InfoPackage and fix the file name (i.e. you renamed), so you don't need to change everyday your file name at infopackage level.Because in AL11 everyday the file are overwrite.
To I get BW_LOAD_20090120.txt file in F1, then I renamed to BW_LOAD.txt and loaded into BW, then tomorrow I get BW_LOAD_20090125.txt in F1, then I renamed to BW_LOAD.txt....
so in this way it will work.You need to schedule the Ubix script in AL11.
This is the way how to handle the application server...I'm using the same logic.

FM to read XML files from Application server in ECC5.0

We need to pick up an XML file from Application server/FTP server. The requirement is to parse the XML file and process it to create material master. SAP provides standard function modules to read XML files.
Now we need to read the XML file contents of MM01 and upload into SAP Data Base through BAPI
I need to know about the Function modules to read XML files from Application Server and also about the FM's that will update the Date base tables with the data obtained form XML files.

Background: Pick files from directory at central instance

Hi,
In Background, We want to pick files from the directory present central instance. I am using FM RZL_READ_DIR_LOCAL to read all files present in directory and later we process each of them.
This FM works fine while I work online but not in background. In Development and Quality servers it works fine in background. possible reason could be that we dont have central instance in dev and quality server.

Upload files from FTP server

Hi Friends,
We are loading some files from FTP server into the BW (Datasource)
In the infopackage we have given the setting as 'Load from application server' and have given the file path as it is in application server. No routine has been created.
Files are successfully loading from FTP server to the BW datasource.
My question is:
In the infopackage we have only maintained that it should be loaded from application server and the file path.
But how the system(infopackage) gets to know that from which server(FTP) it should pick. Is there any table to maintain these entries. i.e when infopackage is scheduled it only pings the required server and picks the file with the help of given file path.But how does it know which server it should ping.

Hello Niku,
It seems in your case you have only one FTP, and the system is pointing by default to that FTP and picking the required files fro your Info Package.
Normally a Standard ABAP Program RSFTP002 is used to communicate to the FTP Server with the help of RFC . In the Same program you can maintain the credentials ( USerName and password) along with the Source and Destination related properties .
Back to your query , you can check the same in above program ( RSFTP002 ) through SE38 and cross verify your FTP .
