Just spent two days trying to pick up my eTicket from Brittany Ferries that I had to change return dates on, only to find that suddenly BT have decided to block non UK IP addresses.
I could read and send emails fine, but try to attach a file or download a file and it does not work. The person I was staying with had an IP cloaking prog on their PC and running that allowed attachments to be downloaded from my btopenworld account no probs.
So much for OPENWORLD!

Hi. Welcome to the forums.
Can you give more details why you think BT are blocking non UK IP addesses ? Which Country were you in, and what sort of error messages were you getting ?
May I assume you were using webmail via a browser, if so which browser and was this via the friend's machine or your own ?

Storage repository for GOS attachments outside R/3

Greetings!
For our requirement we have to extract and store GOS attachments in a DMS server.
I would like to know what are all the possible soutions to store the data outside R/3 (our users will not accessing them everytime but just to have reference when needed). I do not have much knowledge about DMS so some reference link also would be of a great use.
Please let me know if I need to eloborate on my requirement. Your help is much appreciated!

You can store GOS documents in external server. Follow steps as below
1) Link content category SOFFHTTP to the repository referring to external server.
2) For SOFFPHIO class in table SDOKPHCL, maintain value X for CAT MAINT field
3) Go to the transaction skpro8, maintain SOFFHTTP as new category for SOFFPHIO class,
After making these changes, GOS documents will be stored in external server.

Storing attachments outside the database..??

Hi All,
We are working on R12.1.3 ,OEL 5.4.
My client wants to store the Ebs attachments on to the local file system rather than the database...!!!!
Is it possible to store the FND_LOB attachments to local disk...?
Please guide me...!

I do not know of a way of doing so using base functionality. One way would be to use a custom table that is externally defined, but this would mean a lot of custom code being written and maintained.
The space will be taken up regardless of where the files are stored - on the filesystem or the database. In addition, file stored on the filesystem are susceptible to possible virus attacks, while data in the database is not.

STORE ATTACHMENTS IN A FILE SYSTEM

Currently when the users use the attachments it gets stored in the database level in fnd_lobs
table and it seems the volume in our production db is shooting up daily. We wanted to know is
there any way of storing the attachments outside the database for large objects? is it possible to
store them on the OS level or on a NAS mount? We are planning to leverage the std attachment
feature for our iExpense module which may shoot up the DB space to 100-200 GB per year. So please
let us know the possible options to reduce the space issue in DB causing by the attachments.

BFILE Datatype
The BFILE datatype enables access to binary file LOBs that are stored in file systems outside Oracle Database. A BFILE column or attribute stores a BFILE locator, which serves as a pointer to a binary file on the server file system. The locator maintains the directory name and the filename.
You can change the filename and path of a BFILE without affecting the base table by using the BFILENAME function. Please refer to BFILENAME for more information on this built-in SQL function.

Binary file LOBs do not participate in transactions and are not recoverable. Rather, the underlying operating system provides file integrity and durability. BFILE data can be up to 232-1 bytes, although your operating system may impose restrictions on this maximum.
The database administrator must ensure that the external file exists and that Oracle processes have operating system read permissions on the file.
The BFILE datatype enables read-only support of large binary files. You cannot modify or replicate such a file. Oracle provides APIs to access file data. The primary interfaces that you use to access file data are the DBMS_LOB package and the Oracle Call Interface (OCI).

Airport Express and outside network interference

I have been having some difficulty staying connected to my Airport Express lately. I'm running a Power Mac G4 MDD (airport card) and an iBook 933mhz (airport extreme card), and an iMac (wired to a router). The airport express is also cabled to the router, which is connected to the cable modem. Everything worked fine from February to about 2 weeks ago. No dropouts or anything. The airport admin utility is set up as follows:
-Wireless mode: Create a wireless network (home router)
-WPA personal wireless security
-Channel - 11 (I have experimented with all channels)
-Mode 802.11b/g compatible
Wireless options
-multicast rate 5.5
-interference robustness enabled
-transmit power 100%
The iBook, I noticed this evening, seems to be picking up an outside network. The power mac doesn't seem to pick it up though. Im thinking it has to do with the difference between the 802.11b card in the Power mac and the 802.11g card in the iBook. Although the two wireless computers drop the connection, I also noticed this evening, that the Power mac seems more susceptible to the dropout (the connection isn't always lost at the same time). I also have a difficult time reestablishing the connection. I'm starting to think my problem lies in the channel setting, except none of them seem to make much difference. What other options do I have to limit this interference????

first let me start saying that it might not solve your problem, however, I was told, by an Apple engineer in charge of the networking for an Apple event, that in case of a mixed network (b and g) set the airport to be b only. He gave me the reasons, but I can not remember.
I used to have my network in b (I have a mixed setting), but since I have 2 airport xpress, one is set to "b" the other is set to "g".
I have had no problems.
Now, since I do not think this will solve your problem, you should check to see if there is any signal of an external interference going on.
Do your problems happen more frequently at a certain times.
Something new in the neighborhood ? So on and so forth.

The volume of the iphone4 receiver is very low outside.

When I need to talk with someone, i need to find very very quite place without any noise. two or three person's voise are enough to stop the communication between I and other end of the phone. So, usually, I am not pick the phone outside. I don't know why, but I want to clerify,my hearing are very sensitive,and young. I think what wrong with my phone.

Honestly, I cannot remember how loud the lock sound was before I updated to iOS 6 since I updated weeks ago. But the volume on my lock sound seems to be the same as it was before I updated.
Have you tried rebooting your iPad? You could also try resetting all of your settings and see if that makes a difference.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.

Problems with iOS 7 Mail and Cisco Unified Messaging attachments?

Does anyone out there use Cisco Unified Messaging in their workplace? I am seeing an issue with iOS 7 (7.0.0-7.0.2) where the following scenario occurs:
You check an email in the Mail app that is from the Cisco Unified Messaging system when you get a voicemail. The voicemail is left by Person A who attaches a subsequent voicemail from Person B and they leave an intro saying "Attached is a voicemail blah blah blah" The email from Cisco comes across as having a .wav attachment and then an email attachment with a .wav file inside (supposed to be the original voicemail from Person B). If you play both .wav attachments, it just plays the same audio and not separate voicemails (one being the intro from Person A and one being the original Person B voicemail). It seems to hold on to whichever .wav attachment you played first (e.g. if you play the Person B voicemail .wav file and then go to the .wav file that should be Person A's intro, it just plays Person B's voicemail).
We did not experience this with iOS 6 and have confirmed that things work just fine on phones that have not been upgraded to iOS 7. Email account on iOS devices is a Microsoft Exchange account.
I am sorry if this is already a known issue, but I've had trouble searching for results. Any help would be tremendous in hunting down this strange phenomenon.

E-Mail Ghost Attachments

When I send or receive an e-mail with a photo attachment (on my MacBook Pro) it arrives not only with the pic I sent but often with other pics as well (as many as ten in some cases.) These additional pics were attached to previous e-mails I sent or received - in a few cases several years ago. What is happening? How can an e-mail pick up attachments from prior e-mails? How do I fix it? Thanks

Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it:
~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Envelope Index
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return.
A Finder window will open with a file selected. Move the selected file to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have names that begin with "Envelope Index". Move those files, if any, to the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is corrupt and that Mail has to quit. Click OK.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the file you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, post your results.

Multiple problems: OfficeJet Pro 8000 Wireless

We bought an HP OfficeJet Pro Wireless for our two Macs and it's been a nightmare. I've searched help guides and forums and am hoping you can help me fix the problems.
It takes 10 minutes to start up the printer each time. There is a lot whirring and noises coming.
Once it's finally, finally on it always can't print. I then usually have to reinstall the software from the CD using the USB cable and not wireless to get it to work, which it will then do exactly one time before I next need to use the printer, turn it on and have it refuse to print.
I have tried every configuration I can think of to no avail.
Currently I have just turned it on and I have a message saying that the printer is low on ink and cannot print. I have used this printer exactly 5 times and there is no way it's out of ink.
I apologise if I sound petulant, I've just never had such problems with any equipment and am worried we've made a very bad investment. I would truly appreciate any advice anyone can give.
Our set up is:
Mac laptop and desktop, both running Leopard
Wireless connection via BT Homehub router
OfficeJet Pro 8000 Wireless

I understand your frustration. Here are a few tips:
1. Don't turn your printer off. If you HAVE to turn it off, don't do it with a power strip or by unplugging the cord. Your printer will use ink (and quite a bit of it) to start up every time you turn it on. This is especially true if the printer did not have power during its time powered-off. You will bleed your ink cartridges dry very quickly this way. All the whirring you hear is the sound of sucking ink through the nozzles to clean them.
2. Set a static IP address for your printer. Pick a number outside the range 192.168.1.64 to 192.168.1.237 that your HomeHub uses to issue dynamic IP addresses. 192.168.1.50 is a nice round number. Here is how you do it:
- Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
- Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
- Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
- Click the Manual IP button and enter:
192.168.1.50 for the IP address
255.255.255.0 for the subnet
Leave the gateway and DNS blank
- Click 'Apply'
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.
Delete and re-add the printer in the print queue:
- Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
- Select the printer in question and click the minus sign at the bottom of the list
- Select the plus sign to re-add it. Look for the printer, select it and wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.
If this does not work, do the same thing, only instead of the second step, right (control) click the print queue area and select Reset Printing System.

1. I notice that if I am browsing a second page on my browser for about a minute and then navigate back to my first page... it's "blanked out" and am forced to refresh. Is this normal? Any way around this? Not particularly useful when on Meebo or when I'm trying to compare movie time on two different movie theatres.
2. Is there any way to save images from a site or from an email to my phone? I know I can't receive MMS so I thought I'd email me a picture to add it to my contacts and couldn't find a way. I also browsed online for an image and couldn't save it nor add it to a contact either. Any way to do this? I had to wait to get home and sync the images to my phone.
3. I noticed that the iPhone's connector is the same as my iPod's connector, but if I plug it into my iPod's dock, a warning comes up that warns me it's not designed for the iPhone. Will I harm my iPhone if I plug it into my car charger, wall charger, dock that's AVed into my TV? I'm just really worried that it'll screw my phone up.
4. I read somehwere I can open PDF's on my iPhone. Can I save a PDF to my phone and open it somehow?

This is normal - in my experience anyway but not with all websites. It doesn't do the same when I have one page open on these discussions, navigate to another page and then back, the discussions page I had opened is not refreshed.

Not supported from a website or from a received messages. You must do as provided with your last sentence - at the present time anyway.

If you get this warning you shouldn't ignore it. Even though the connection type might be the same, if the device is not compatible with the iPhone it can cause problems or potential damage. There are auto chargers that specifically indicated - made for or compatible with the iPhone. I purchased a car charger that is compatible with my iPhone and with my iPod with video.
You can alway check with the manufacturer of the device to determine if the device is also compatible with the iPhone regardless the warning but this should be in writing via their website or provided via email.
4. I read somehwere I can open PDF's on my iPhone. Can I save a PDF to my phone and open it somehow?
You can view PDF, Word and Excel documents attached to a received email from within the received message but you can't save the attachments outside of the message.

Not possible.
The iPhone does not support saving email attachments outside of the received message.
If you want a photo attached to a received message available on the iPhone for viewing outside of the received message, and you are accessing the same account with an email client on your computer (or you can do the same via webmail access using a browser), save the photo outside of the received message on your computer, and then transfer the photo along with other photos transferred from your computer to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process.

Issue could be that the ID 1143785.1;ID 1361594.1 are not straightly compatible with ODC 10.1351
The issue is resolved after applying the Patch ID 15656504, which restores the files of ODC 10.1351 which were overwritten by the applied patches.

Well....
I need to know if doc attached in CV01N i.e., DMS, will automatically pick by the material during PO creation.
Ex. I have created a design doc of a material... say X. Now i have to send a PO with the docu to the vendor.
While Creating a PO... i entered the material, but when u check the attachment, i am not able to see any attachments... since i have already attached the doc in the material master, in PO the X material has to pick the attachments.
1. I know you can manually attach the doc.
2. you can attach via service object.
But that was not my solution.
can any help me...

As you said, system cannot pick.. You enter some details in the material master tab, these details automatically caputured in the PO. So, i attach a doc, it has to be there.. am i rite ?...
This is was my client requirement..
When they create a PO ... the PO will be sent to the vendor with the drawing stating that it is the dia, size etc etc etc...
Thats why... i need to know is there any UserExit or OSS notes to be applied...

Exeception caused by Call Library Node

I'm getting a serious error with LV DSC 7.1. I was making some changes to the scf file but when I went to save it I got the following error.
An exception occurred within the external code called by a Call Library Node. This may have corrupted LabVIEW's memory. You should save any work to a new location and restart LabVIEW. VI "dsc_DYN_TAInitDB.vi" was stopped at Node 0x48B4 of subVI "dsc_InitTagGroupsDB.vi"
When I restarted LV the error message appeared straight away and I could not start the Tag Configuration Editor. I have since tried repairing and reinstalling the DSC module. This let me get back into the TCE but I still got the error when I tried to save the SCF file. I thought the scf file may have been corrupt so I exported the data to a txt file and imported it to a new file but I still get the same error on saving.
I've just finished a complete reinstallation of LV, drivers and DSC module. When I open the TCE for the first time I created a new scf and and again imported the tag info from the txt file but again when I went to save it I got the error.
There are over 150 tags in the scf for an ethernet FieldPoint system. The PC is running XP Pro. The application was recently upgraded from V7.0 to 7.1. Everything was running fine until the edits to the scf. However, this was not the first edit to the scf I had made.
The knowledgebase contained details of a similar error for LV 6.1 and there were updated drivers available. Is there any ubdates for LV 7.1?

Thanks for your reply. However, I tried the uninstall, registry clean, reinstall as described but I still got the same error when I tried to save the scf after importing the tags from the text file. The error makes it impossible to open the Tag Configuration editor unless I uninstall and reinstall the dsc module which makes it very time consuming to even try anything different.
For now I'm going to go back to V7.0. I've attached the scf file and the exported tag data which I tried to import.

P.S It appears that .scf is not a valid extension for an attachement so I had to zip it.

DW CS3 Mac eyedropper doesn't work

My eyedropper won't pick up colors outside the swatch panel.
If I click on a CSS class (say, "footer") in the CSS panel,
then click on the pencil icon to edit properties, then click in the
color sample for "Background color," I get a color swatch panel and
an eyedropper. The eyedropper allows me to pick colors from the
swatches, but if I hover over part of the page I'm designing, the
color correctly changes _temporarily_, in motion, to whatever I'm
hovering over, BUT nothing happens when I click, and nothing I can
do will change the color of the item to the color the eyedropper
was hovering over.
I don't know if it's relevant, but the color I was trying to
pick up was that of a "false column," where the color of a vertical
sidebar is actually a vertically tiled "background image" set by
CSS.
This is driving me crazy. I have to memorize the hex for the
color and then type it in every time.
Can anyone help me?

Oh for crying out loud -- I feel like such an idiot! :)
It worked like a charm.
I have used Dreamweaver since MX, which is a number of years,
and I have routinely used the eyedropper to grab colors from all
over the place.
Maybe what confused me is that I not only switched from a PC
to a Mac, I switched from a desktop PC to a MacBook Pro, so I'm
using a trackpad instead of a mouse. Maybe the awkwardness (I'm
still not used to it) of dragging on a trackpad while holding down
the (one and only one button, on a Mac) made holding that button
down not "feel" like what I had done before.
