  • How to make Chiese Char's shown correctly in Pie Chart of BEx?

Anyone know how to configure the BEx in WAD to make the Chinese description shown correctly in Pie Chart? Any suggestions are appreciated.
    Best Regards,

    Dear Gerald,
please make sure that you have to configure a font for the IGS that supports the desired characters.
Dependant on your scenario you must maintain the xmlchart or gfwchart configuration files. I would maintain both files.
Please refer to note <a href="http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/531668">531668</a> for the xmlchart and to note <a href="http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/596825">596825</a> for the gfwchart configuration file.

  • Bex Analyser: Bar chart with limit or average line, is it possible?

    Hi everyone.
    I have a short question:
Do you know if it is possible to combine different chart types in the Bex Analyser?
I would like to have a bar chart providing monthly values and in the same chart a line showing 1) a fixed limit and 2) another line showing an accumulated moving average.
I have the values as source available, however I can't figure out how to combine the bar charts with a line chart in the same graph.
Does anybody know if this is possible?
    Thanks,
    Nana

    Nana ,
it is possible to have a Bex Chart of mixed type , you can choose the type of display for each series
As for fixed line - you will need to have the values supplied by query
As for moving average , that too needs to come from the query. The IGS service which renders the chart is something similar to Excel - the display options can be changed but nothing more that what is in the data table.

  • Error while creating a Pie Chart

    Hi Experts,
I have prepared a spreadsheet in Web Analysis in which two dimensions are appearing in Rows, one dimension in Columns and one dimension in Page View.
When I convert this spreadsheet into a Pie Chart, or any other chart for that matter, no data is displayed. If I remove one dimension from Rows to POV, data starts appearing in the chart. But it is not a relevant chart as the data shown in it is not in the format in which it is required.
Kindly help in resolving this issue.
    Regards,
    SYR

    Hi Sa'ad
Its been a little while since I used Web Analysis but I remember that there are issues if you have more than 1 dimension in rows or columns. What I cannot remember is whether it automatically shifts a dimension to the page or whether as you suggest it just doesn't display.
Pie charts can only display data from two dimensions (1 rows, 1 columns), you can filter using dimensions on pages. If that doesn't give you what you need then I'm afraid you need to stick to a different chart type.
    Hope this helps

  • Pie Chart / Query : Top 3 and Remainder

    Hi
I am trying to develop a template, which shows various exception information to the end user. There are approximately 20 exception scenarios which are analysed each night and data stored in the cube. This information is then related back to the end user via a simple web template.
I can show that data in a table nicely.
I have created an additional query with a "Top 3" condition applied, which results in the 3 exceptions that contribute the mos to the total being displayed. This query can then be used as the source for a pie chart, so the user can see graphically which are the most important exceptions to address.
I have now been asked to include a "remainder" item in that pie chart, or not have the pie chart add up to 100%. What the user wants to see, is what the top 3 exceptions were, and what all the other exceptions added up to, essentially the difference between 100% and the sum of the contribution (%) of the top 3.
I can write a query which displays the top 3, and include in that a result row which shows the sum of the percentages. So, for example, it will display the 3 and the total will be 87%, meaning the remaining errors contributed 13%, but how would I get this as an additional row in the query?
Alternately, is it possible to have a pie chart that doesn't add up to 100%. A pie chart that is incomplete in essence?
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,
To show the value as a percentage and not have the total be 100%, you need to calculate the value in the query. Create a key figure to calculate the percentage and use a condition to only show the top 3. Conditions wont effect the totals or percentages so the total percentage won't add up to 100.
I don't think it's possible to show a 'other' value with the remainder.
    Kind regards,
    Alex

  • Regarding standardization of Colors in Pie chart Categories

    Dear BI Experts,
I have an issue regarding Pie Charts in the WAD. When we have 5 categories defined in the Pie chart and each category has got its own defined color.
<b><u>issue no 1:</u></b> It is very difficult to go to each cahrt and select the colors for each chart in each category. Is there any place where we can define the colors in common?
<b><u>issue no 2:</u></b> When we have the data for all the categories it is doing good. In case of data not available for any purticular category the color defined for that category is coming for the next category. which shud not happen.
Is there any chance of solving this?
Anyone please help me in this concern. Very much awaited.
    Regards,
    Kishore.

    Bhanu,
Sorry about the late response ... connectivity issues....
As for the color issue - you would have fixed colors to each series ... and when there is no data for one of them then that particular series is absent which would mean that the next series would take its place.
    Example :
    Original query -
    4 categories with 4 colors
If one of the categories does not have data then the query would have 3 categories and category 4 would take the place of category 3 and hence the issue of the colors...
I was not able to simulate the same however ....
    1. If you had the same data set in Excel - are the colors proper- any Standard data set / BeX chart
    2. Is there anyway you can fix the number of categories by way of restricted Key figures etc ? then if that category is present in the query even if there is not data the colors should be maintained.
    Arun
    Hope it helps...

  • Pie Chart Does Not Show Up

    I followed the tutorial here:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd255283.aspx
But my pie chart is blank. I saw this thread, which sounds like a similar problem:

But it wasn't very helpful. I have confirmed that I have followed the instructions in the tutorial exactly, but my chart just shows up as a blank square. I can send the tutorial RDL file if it will help.
    What am I doing wrong?

    Hi Paul,
I also follow the instructions of the tutorial to create a pie chart to the repot in my Report Builder 3.0, it works great. So I think maybe you have configure some other settings, please double-check that you haven’t take some actions that the document
doesn’t suggest. If you already done, could you please tell us which actions are you taken?
If you just followed the instructions in the tutorial exactly, could you please send me the RDL file with sample data to sqltnsp AT Microsoft.com (Please replace AT with @) or upload the files to your skydrive.live.com, so that we can make further analysis.

  • Pie chart issue with WAD

    Hi Experts,
When I try to execute a query through Web Application Designer with a form of Pie chart, its not working properly. All I'm getting in web dash board is just a circle with blue color. Its similar to the first picture in the below image.
    http://img296.imageshack.us/img296/1450/question3hn0.jpg
But I'm getting correct output with Column chart.
Could someone please help me to resolve this problem?
    Bregards,
    Bala

    Hello Krish,
Please try to check the below:
1.Did you check the result of the query in graphical view via Query Designer or analyser.
Is the graphical view with chart type as pie , showing different colours through Query Designer or Analyser?? if you finding similar kind of image then swap axes and try..
2.Did you try to assign different colours for different categories.
    3.Swap display axes
In th left hand side of the WAD screen.
you will find a properties window. in that there will be 2 tabs.generic and web item.
Click on Webitem.in this go to specific.
and check the check box ...swap display axesand now execute.
    Hope this helps you..

  • How to make an odd shaped pie chart

    Hi there,
I was wondering how difficult it would be to translate stats into an odd shaped object, to be divideed up into a pie. Oviously I could make a normal pie. overlay it and split the object up according to the angles, but this would result in un even area mass (ideally the area of each slace should equate to the percentage of each figue).
Hope this makes sense (my brains feeling slightly mushy thanks for excessive analysis of recycling statistics!
    Kind regards D.E

    DE,
In a stump chart case like this it would seem appropriate to use the pith as the starting point of the chart.
The following images show a relatively simple way of making a quite accurate division in connexion with a stump that has a strongly asymmetric shape with reaction wood.
Always keep a copy of the artwork at different stages.
    I) shows the stump, the stroke/nofill annual rings and the pith as a group kept on top and (mostly) locked in the following steps, the stroked and filled (outer) shape of the stump being worked with.
II) shows a division aid in the form of a 360 (1 degrees) pie chart, made from a Polar grid with 0 Concentric Dividers and 360 Radial Dividers: the Radial Dividers are extended past the outer circle, and the pie pieces are formed by Pathfinder>Divide.
III) shows the division aid centred over the pith.
IV) shows the stump moved on top of the division aid, its fill covering the inner part.
    V) shows the result of Object>Path>Divide Objects Below where the stump has cut the division aid.
VI) shows the result when the outlying superfluous parts of the division aid have been deleted.
Now the division aid consists of 360 closed paths, each spanning 1 degree, all starting/meeting at the pith. These should be Ungrouped.
At any time up to this point, the total stump area may be determined, for older versions the free Telegraphics PathArea Filter may be used (available at http://www.telegraphics.com.au/sw/browse/Filters).
Now it is easy to select a number of closed paths of the division aid and use the PathArea filter (or whatever) to determine the proportion of the total area (simple division), to adjust by adding/removing and/or undoing/redoing, and then to Pathfinder>Unite (or whatever it is called in the version in question) to create a piece of the pie, and finally to increase the Stroke Weight as desired.
VII) shows the result of creating the top piece of 11%.
VIII) shows the result of creating all the pieces (made clockwise one at a time), the three 11% pieces (the first one and the two last ones) chosen to be alike, thus showing the great difference(s) in angles for identical areas.
This procedure leads to a great number of Anchor Points in the bark; it is possible to get rid of them by scaling the pieces with the pith as the key object, placing the original stump path on top, and Object>Path>Divide Objects Below, then delete the outlying parts.
It is also possible to move the pieces apart, away from the pith, if there is a wish to hurt the stump (even more).
The accuracy is well within 0.1% of the total stump area for the least accurate pieces.

  • Reporting Services in 2005 Secondary Pie Chart?

       Hi,
In 2008 and 20012, secondary pie charts with a percentage threshold from a main pie chart can be easily created. Is it possible to do in 2005?
    *CustomAttributes
    Thanks.

    Hi Robb,
It seems that you are using Dundas Chart Control for SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services not the Dundas Chart Control 2005 that Microsoft has purchased.
Microsoft purchased the license to use Dundas Chart Control 2005 in Reporting Services 2008 and above. Therefore the supported upgrade is from Reporting Services 2005 Dundas Charts to SSRS 2008 (R2) and SSRS 2012 Charts.
If you are using a particular component released by Dundas for SSRS 2008 R2, you won’t be able to upgrade Reporting Services 2008 R2 Reports with Dundas Charts to Reporting Services 2012 Charts.
To confirm this, please check the details of this assembly “DundasRSChart.dll” located under the /Report Server/bin directory.
If the Product Name is “Dundas Chart for Reporting Services 2008 R2”, it indicates that this is a new version of Dundas Chart for SSRS 2008 R2 (i.e. a third party control). If the Product Name is “Microsoft SQL Server”, it indicates that this is the version
    that Microsoft has purchased.
In this condition, you have to migrate the DundasRSChart.dll to the SSRS 2012 instance and reference it as the custom assembly in the reports. Please make sure to rename the DLL file so that it won’t replace the native DundasRSChart.dll installed by SQL
    Server 2012.
For more information about referencing custom assembly in a report, please see:
    Using Custom Assemblies with Reports
