Pilotage génération de courant agilent e3634a via Ni USB 4431

Bonjour,

What do you have it connected to? Doesn't the optical head you are refering to require an actual instrument like the 8153?

  • How to send string with line feed to Agilent 33250A via COM1

Agilent 33250A is a function generator. In HPERTERMINAL, when "Send line ends with line feeds" is enabled, simple strings make it work well, such as: "APPLQU", "OUTPUT ON", etc...
But I can't make it work with .vi file. COM setting is correct because 33250A shows "remote" icon immediatly after string sent. It will respon "error" to any mismatched setting (e.g. 9600 vs 115200). So, the connection is there but it just doesn't respond to commands.
I don't know why. The termination character is enabled in .vi
I apprecite your help to make the .vi to send string just like the HYPERTERMINAL with 'line feeds'.
    Thank you very much.

From what I can see it looks like you are NOT specifying what termination character you want to use when you call the serial port init.
When not otherwise specified, the port will be configured to use the default termination character which is a "carrige return" HEX 0A.
Try wiring a "Line Feed" constant to the init VI.

  • I want to know hardware to collect voltage and current from battery and read it through labview

    Hi all ,
As per requirement of my job I want to measure voltage and current of battery connected to motor. I want to read those voltage and current through Labview. I want to know what hardware I need to acquire that voltage and current and feed it to computer and read through Labview.
I also want to know, whether I need to program according to hardware I use or Whatever I will program will read data coming from hardfwarwe?
Please give suggestions over it .
    Thanks

    c54909,
It depends on what equipment you have available and what is your budget.  You could for example use a storage oscilloscope with a current probe to accomplish this task.  This will give you very good timing waveforms if your charging sequences are short.
If you are looking to automate I would recommend using any GPIB controllable power supply by Agilent or HP such as a (Agilent E3634A) and a USB-HS from National Instruments.
Keep in mind depending on how accurate you want your data you may need a GPIB current meter to read low currents in the uA.  If you only need mA resolution you can usually use the same power supply you are making the voltage reading from.  You want to make sure you pay attention to things like current limits on your supply and Over Current Protection settings (OCP) as they can make testing interesting.

  • How to connect to Agilent DSO7104 through USB connection

I want to connect to Agilent oscilloscope DSO7104 using USB interface.
I have installed labview 8.0, ag6000a Instrument Driver and visa4.6.2.
When I use Example of ag6000a Instrument Driver, the VISA resource name are COM1, COM3 and LPT1.
What should I do to use USB interface?
    Thanks.

There should be an inf driver file that comes with the instrument if it supports the USBTMC class.

  • MAX don't release LAN connction while communicating with Agilent 86122A

    Dear guys,
Yesterday I met a communication issue while talking to Agilent 86122A via LAN.
It showed I cannot run MAX before launching LabVIEW; otherwise I'd have trouble in send commands in LabVIEW.
I doubt if MAX MAX don't release LAN connection while communicating with Agilent 86122A?
    Please advise,thanks.
    I debugged as below:
1, Ping the IP of Agilent 86122A shows internet is OK.
2, I restarted the instrument, LabVIEW reported the same error code.
3, I restarted PC, launched LabVIEW first and run the code (*IDN?), everything is OK!!!
4, Again, I send *IDN? With MAX, and it seemed to be OK.
5, hit x to close MAX and then run the same and simple code (*IDN?) in LabVIEW, but it reports error code -1073807346.

    Caglar,
The documents you mention ahould include the proper prcedure for using this hardware in LabVIEW. Here are my recommendations:
The version of NI-VISA  you mentioned is not valid. The most recent version is 4.6.2. I would recommend ugrading if you do not have this version. After the upgrade, ensure that tulip is enabled as well as the other settings and see if this helps.
When talking about the instrument, the biggest concern that usually is relevant with 488.1 is that it will not respond to *IDN?. In your case, it looks like it does, and should work as 488.2 is backwards compatible. It seems to me, the issue is still with the 82357A, and we have not yet reached the voltmeter.
In order for NI-VISA to work with your device, NI-VISA must be the primary visa driver.
Hope this helps, let us know how the upgrade turns out. If you continue to have issues, take some screenshots of the preferences in MAX and upload them on the forum.

  • AutoVue for Agile PQM - Java Runtime Environment Question

    Greetings,
An end user is attempting to view/open attachments within Agile Product Quality Management (PQM); we use Agile PQM 9.3.1.
When clicking on an attachment file, a pop-up screen opens with a javascript alert, prompting the user with, "Please Install Java Runtime Environment." After clicking "OK", user is redirected to java download website. User downloads and installs the update.
After rebooting the machine, we attempt to access the attachment file again within PQM and receive the same error message, "Please Install Java..."
After installing the first java update, the user is now on the following java version:
    Java Plug-in 10.55.2.14
Using JRE version 1.7.0_55-b14 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM
Do we need to install the second update to be able to view attachments within Agile PQM via AutoVue?
I can't test the java updates myself because there are some legacy Oracle apps that I won't be able to support if I update my java.
    Thanks in advance,
    William

You might want to post the question to the Agile forum
The popup you see seems to be tied to Agile code itself and not AutoVue
AutoVue will work on Java 7u55
But you are running Agile, so you will need to make sure the rest of the apps are confirmed with 7u55
You also need to review Java update guidelines, by default you will be always prompted to install the latest java update

      DaqmxErr = DAQmxCreateAOVoltageChan(TH_volta, DAQmx_device & "/" & DAQmx_output_channel, "Uin", _
                                                                             -1 * gammeV, gammeV, DAQmx_Val_VoltageUnits2_Volts, "")
      DaqmxErr = DAQmxCfgSampClkTiming(TH_volta, "OnboardClock", frequence, DAQmx_Val_Rising, _
                                                                             DAQmx_Val_AcquisitionType_FiniteSamps, nb_points * nb_cycles)
      DaqmxErr = DAQmxWriteAnalogF64(TH_volta, nb_points * nb_cycles, False, ProgressBar_manip.max,  _
                                                                  DAQmx_Val_GroupByScanNumber, ableau_E(0), nb_sample_ecrit, ByVal 0&)
      ReDim tableau_i(0 To nb_points * nb_cycles - 1)               ' préparation du tableau récupérant les points mesurés
      DaqmxErr = DAQmxCreateAIVoltageChan(TH_lecturecourant, DAQmx_device & "/" & DAQmx_inputY_channel, _
                                                                           "Courant", DAQmx_Val_InputTermCfg_RSE, -1 * gammeI, gammeI, _
                                                                           DAQmx_Val_VoltageUnits2_Volts, "")
      DaqmxErr = DAQmxReadAnalogF64(TH_lecturecourant, nb_points * nb_cycles, 10, _
                                                                   DAQmx_Val_GroupByScanNumber, tableau_i(0), nb_points * nb_cycles, _
                                                                   nb_points * nb_cycles, ByVal 0&)
      DaqmxErr = DAQmxStartTask(TH_volta)

        DAQmxCreateTask("",TH_Volta)
        DAQmxCreateAIVoltageChan(...)
        DAQmxCfgSamplClkTiming(...)
        DAQmxCreateTask("",TH_lecturecourant)
        DAQmxCreateAOVoltageChan(...)
        DAQmxCfgSamplClkTiming(...)
        DAQmxWriteAnalogF64(...)
        DAQmxStartTask("",TH_Volta)
        DAQmxStartTask("",TH_lecturecourant)
      C:\Users\Public\Documents\National Instruments\NI-DAQ\Exemples\DAQmx ANSI C\Synchronization\Multi-Function
En espérant avoir répondu à votre problème.

  • Daqmxregistereverynsamplesevent

    Bonjour,

    Update:100ms
    DeadBand:0%
    Reconnect PollRate:1s
    Server Instance Preference:In process
    Read/Write Method:Asynchronous

  • Some options don't appear in MAX

I have an Agilent 86142A OSA connected via GPIB-USB-HS cable to my PC. MAX recognizes it in the tree, but a lot of options (like self-test, calibrate) don't appear. I'm new in MAX, so I'm not sure whether this is acceptable or not. Have I made some error in installing the device, or do some options simply not show up for particular devices? I've attached an image of MAX in this situation.
If indeed the device is installed fine, how does one perform a test to see if the connection is good if the Self-Test icons don't appear?
Please let me know if it seems the device has been detected properly and all is well.
    Thanks!

Everything looks find. You are not supposed to have options for self-test or calibrate. Those would only be for NI's DAQ cards.

  • Error in installing NI 488.2 in PXI system

    Hi, all
We have a VA-HR instrument and agilent power supplies, which we are being controlled through USB interface in one computer. all the supplies and VA-HR are controlled via single USB.
Now we want to controll these instruments from another computer which is a PXI system with NI PXI 8105 Embedded controller. (PXI system contains Windows XP service Pack 2)
When the USB cable was plugged into PXI system, it gave folowing message:
Found new hardware, USB serial controller D, and also the GPIB-USB-HS.
So we came to conclusion that it requires USB serial controller D drivers as well as GPIB-USB-HS(GPIB-USB-B) drivers.
For that i did download NI 488.2 2.7.3 from NI website and tried to install that into PXI SYSTEM. But during installation, the process rolled back from driver installation and gave an error. i tried this for atleast three times. In other PC the same .exe source of NI 488.2, successfully installed NI 488.2 software without any error.
I can't understand why this NI 488.2 is not being installed.
LABview 8.6 is already installed in the system.
In short i want to connect my Power supplies and VA-HR to PXI system. Please help me out in this installation error.
