Pinnacle usb hybrid pro stick 330e won't work

stands an installation guide on a (I presume) debian - based system.
I'm on arch64 and I'd love to have my usb-tv working,
but during the installation all sort of things go wrong,
first of all the following doesn't work

if you change source by build, it does exists. however, in the second part, /usr/src/linux-2.6.24-ARCH/... does exist,,
of coarse when I try to compile the driver supplied on that site, nothing works

Hi.
New userspace driver for empia based cards compiles cleanly and simply works on Arch's 2.6.24 kernel (there were some headers missing but it's been fixed immediately after i reported it)
Checkout and compile snapshots of these two repos (order matters):

Arch should be correctly supported, however some files were not included in these repos yet. I've sent an e-mail with missing files to Markus, but I guess he's earning his living right now, as the development stopped suddenly (it happens to everyone sometimes).

make arch-media-daemon executable and copy it to userspace-drivers/init.d directory downloaded from hg repo (link above) The second file should go to userspace-drivers/udev directory (I suppose it's not really needed).
All you need to compile it using build.sh script is kernel-headers package. You should also add arch-media-daemon to DEAMONS, and media-stub to MODULES.
With 2.6.25 there were some stupid api changes, a few things need to be renamed like in this quickfix:

If you apply this quickfix, the code won't compile on 2.6.24 - feel free to add some #ifdefs, but the driver doesn't work well on 2.6.25 anyway (I've a different tuner, HVR900. Maybe your device works well). Video is slowing down/speeding up and mplayer is complaining about my cpu being too slow. I haven't reported it to Markus yet, as I'm more interested now in getting the 'in kernel' driver to work: all i need is to have composite input correctly supported. I've an external DVB-S tuner connected to my laptop through HVR-900 right now and the mainline driver seems to be lacking PAL-DK support (I get hiss instead of audio).

So I bought my MacBook Pro second hand, and it came with no installation discs, but I got Mountain Lion and had it installed and decided to back it up to a disc in case of this scenario. I followed some instructions to make a bootable disc and used it to install a fresh copy of Mountain Lion back when I first got it.
My problem is that without the boot partition of my MacBook's hard drive it doesn't seem to want to boot the disc.
Since I didn't want to buy a disc and I don't have another MacBook or know anyone near me that does, I decided to download a hackintosh iso and use it along with my other laptop to install iPC 10.5.6....this installed successfully and my hopes were that my MacBook would be able to boot it, so I reinstalled my MacBook's hard drive and to my surprise it booted, although not normally. Since it is hackintosh it has some rewritten boot features so it's not a true OSX, but it is fully functional. Since I finally had OSX booted I figured I was in the clear and would be able to install Mountain Lion from this, but then I found out that you have to have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or later in order to install Mountain Lion.
Now I'm stuck with a hactintosh version of Lion and still no way to get back to Mountain Lion, is there anything I can do now that I have a functional OSX installation?

Flash Pro CC Debug won't work correctly

Hello. I am using trial version of Flash Pro CC and I think it's a glitch.
If there are multiple layers that have own frame script and run Debut(ctrl + alt + enter ), debug won't work correctly.
for example there are 2 layers on main stage Layer A and Layer B..
Layer A has this one trace script,
trace("1");
Layer B has those 2 trace scripts.
trace("2");
trace("3);
And I put breakpoint on trace("1"); of Layer A, and run Debug and use "Step In" to run all scripts manually.
And if trace("1"); is finished, you are supposed to get to trace("2"); but instead you will get to trace("3"); in this case.
I mean little yellow arrow, which tells me what script is running right now, is marked on trace("3");.. not on trace("2");
It seems Flash pro CC thinks Layer A's trace("1"); == Layer B's trace("2"). He can't recognize Layer A and Layer B are different.
I think it's a glitch. Does anybody notice this glitch?

Macbook Pro sound sometimes won't work. Took into Apple to be fixed. Still not working.

I purchased a Macbook Pro in July 2014 so my computer is still new. There is no damage to it (it has never been dropped and kept in case). My issue started about a month to month and half ago. When watching netflix the show will stop and when I try to hit play it comes up as an audio system error.
The sound won't work and then a few minutes later it'll turn on, as if it was lagging. For example I would send an email and try to hit the volume button to get the sound to work and then a little later I will hear the whooshing sound from the email and the sound adjusting sounds from the keys all at once. I followed the steps from netflix to fix it which were to uninstall and reinstall silverlight. That still didn't work. After a while I took it into Apple and they replaced the switch board. I got my computer back yesterday and today it is still not working. I have done everything I can think of to fix it. What else can I do?

Return it to the repair shop. Tell them they didn't fix it. Take full advantage of your warranty.

X58 Pro and esata - Won't work...

I am just beyond frustrated with esata now! Wouldn't work on my last board (Asus P5K-Deluxe) and now it won't work with my latest build on the X58 Pro.
I tried to connect my Thermaltake BlacX external storage device via esata today and nothing happened when it was connected. I tried two different cables, one brand new one and one that has the corners 'shaved'.
I got ticked off tonight and bought a Lacie D2 Quadra 1TB external drive with esata. No go for this as well. Both the Thermaltake and Lacie work via USB2 no problem but USB2 just isn't fast enough.
I have made sure the Extra RAID/IDE Controller was Enabled in the BIOS (which it was)...
Aanyone have any suggestions?

Sometimes it is that easy. That's why I asked about the OS you had. Some component recognition issues tend to arise from time to time with different versions. Drivers are another fun element in the mix as well. If it stops showing again, looks like a 'reboot' will fix it. As an afterthought, it may have something to do with the 'connect' sequence. Now & then if I forget (can relate to age), & leave a portable device connected after shutdown, at bootup, the boot sequence is all messed up. Anyway, glad it is working now.

Cinema Display and MacBook Pro - Power Button won't work

I have been using a 20" Apple Cinema Display (plastic model) with a 17" Powerbook and never had a problem. Recently I acquired a 15" MacBook Pro and it's like the power button on the display has no use at all. The only way to turn on the computer is opening the computer lid, turning it on and then closing it. The display also won't shutdown the computer, although the power button light reacts to the touch. The funny thing is that the display settings button work fine. Does anyone has a clue?

Malcolm, thank you for the answer! But I still don't understand why my new MacBook Pro, having exactly the same connector as my older Powerbook had, won't behave the same way? I'm still using the same DVI to ADC adapter, I'm wondering if the new Macbooks maybe have some PIN assignment disabled on its DVI connector. And anyway, shouldn't the power button be able to at least shut down the computer, as long as pressing it would just open the shut down dialog box?

DVD Studio Pro and Motion won't work

I posted this in the Tiger forum and didn't get a solution so I'm trying here.
After installing Tiger DVD Studio Pro and Motion quit working.
Both applications open (in the menu bar at least), but neither one will open all of its windows and nothing happens when I click on anything in the windows that do open. Nothing's frozen (the menus still respond), but there are no windows to work in.
I booted into Panther from my Backup drive and DVD SP works, but Motion won't even startup.
I'm hurtin' here. Can anyone help?

Premiere Pro CS6 just won't work

What am I supposed to do? It's been months since I've been able to edit because Premiere CS6 won't load any footage. It hangs up for hours simply trying to open project folders to import footage. I've been using Premiere for more than eight years, and I've never had it behave this way...everything was perfectly fine under CS5.5; but, once I upgraded to CS6, the program became useless.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Master Collection suite and Premiere Pro individually more than once and nothing works. Short of taking the software and external hard drive home, I have no other Macs with which to edit.

K7t 266 pro: promise chip won't work

the promise controller (as far as i know the: pdc 20265, fasttrack 100) won't start after install of both windows 2000 professional and windows 2003 server enterprise. In both cases it gives the errormessage: "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"
I've tried the following:
using the latest bios version: v 1.9 013102
load latest promise drivers from msi site both with install and after install
2 operating systems: win 2k prof & win2k3 serv. ent.
I'm really don't know what to try next, anyone any clue what may cause the problem?

The psu goes well, np at all. I finally found the reason of the problem: I downloaded the driver for the pdc 20265, where i should have choosen the fasttrack 100 Raid driver.
A not too smart action :(

I am connected to a time capsule both wirelessly and through ethernet...and state of the time capsule is solid green...the internet however doesn't work...The internet works fine when directly connected to my macbook pro but it won't work through the tc

I have deleted time machine preferences...restarted the modem a bunch of times, restored time capsule to it's original settings...after I first set it up in Airport Ulitity its shows a page quickly that states there is a internet problem, but the page quickly goes away before I can read what it says exaclty and states the internet connection problem is resolved...
However it's not resolved, I'm also having trouble doing a back up to my time capsule...I recently purchased a new macbook and retrieved/restore what was on the time capsule to the new computer...that worked fine...wireless worked fine...however when I tried to back up the new macbook...it would faii stating that there isn't enough room on the TC to do a back up...
I didn't end up keeping the new macbook, I was just using it/trying it out while my current macbook pro was being repaired (logic board)
Ever since I got my current macbook back from repair...my backups have failed due to their not being enough space to perform the back up...in the past the back ups would happen and old back ups would be replaced...

The internet was working fine wirelessly through the TC a day ago, but it wasn't allowing my other laptop that was connected via ethernet access to the internet...I had a self assigned IP address error then...I don't have that problem now, but it's not transmitting internet at all...even though it's in a solid green state.
I have no problem completely wiping out my TC including the previous back ups on it...just don't know how to go about it...I have restored it to factory settings a bunch of times and created the network from scratch...just hasn't fixed the issue

If the modem is also a router, either use the modem in bridge and run pppoe client on the TC.. that is assuming ADSL or similar eg vdsl. If it is cable service.. and the modem is a router, then bridge the TC.. go to internet page and select connect by ethernet and below that set connection sharing to bridge.
Please tell us more about the modem if the above gives you issues.

HP FQ834UT USB Universal Docking Station software won't work on my HP laptop with Windows 7 64 bit

I am using Windows 7 and when i went to load software for my docking station, HP FQ834UT USB Universal Docking Station, it said it couldn't use the driver. Is there a software upgrade to allow this driver to work on a HP laptop with Windows 7 64 bit operating system?

I have the same issue - I have it installed on my Windows 7 64-bit machine and although it is running, it doesn't work. I am sitting here in Starbucks, which has a Verizon Wifi hotspot (actually Boingo - which is what Verizon Wi-Fi uses) and the "Connect" box does not appear. I had the same issue at an airport recently. It's one of the worse pieces of software I have had the misfortune to use. When it fails to connect, it causes the Wifi connection to drop (incompatibility with Lenovo Access Connections, maybe). I don't think that Verizon understands the meaning of "QA" and "Software Testing".

Satellite A30, Win XP Pro SP3 - modem won't work

The built in modem doesn't work.
*Explanation:*
The driver is correct and downloaded from the Toshiba support site.
The modem is identified as 'Toshiba software modem amr' and is setted on com3 port.
When I click on 'diagnostic' and 'ask modem' (the right labels may be different, since my is an Italian win xp, I just translated the Italian labels), a window appears saying it's impossible to open the door (port) which the modem is connected to.
I have tried to change the modem com port to different numbers but the problem is the same.
I don't know whether the modem is an actual board connected in some way to the main board or is just built on the main board. If it would be the first case, I could change it ad see. btw, the mini pci slot is already occupied by the gigabyte Wi-Fi board, so the modem must be somewhere else.
It is strange, since I did at least 2 other win xp pro installations on this machine, always downloading and installing the proper drivers, and the modem never has worked.

My Pro access key won't work.

I purchased Quicktime Pro 7 in 2008 for my Black MacBook.The key works on this computer. I bought a Mac Mini in 2010.I went to re-install Pro on it today and the key does not work to activate it. (I installed a new HD 6 months ago). Do I have to make a separate purchase for Pro for each computer?
I'm sure I had Pro Installed on the original HD with the MacBook key.

Make sure you're entering in both the user name and key code exactly as in the email Apple sent you. Any error in either, including leaving off a salutation (for instance, if the email says "Mr. John Smith") will cause the registration to error.
And while QuickTime does not to my knowledge check for duplicate keys, the license does allow unlocking only on one computer per copy, so if you still are using QT Pro in your MacBook, you do need to purchase a second key for your Mac mini.

Your picture looks like you have a USB joystick and it is working. You need some program that uses a joystick (no standard system routines uses one) - what programs have you tried ?
