PIR consumption at different plant

Hello dear gurus,
Here's a tough one; I have a situation (quite common) where there's a supply chain with one manufacturing plant and a number (like 4) of distribution plants. (CPG)
Normaly in SAP in such a situation you need to maintain PIRs for each distribution plant (there's where sales take place), and with special procurement key relate the supply to the manufacturing plant.
Thing is that in my case customer is not willing to maintain PIRs for each DC, but rather have one global forecast (at manufacturing plant level). To accomodate that I made a development that reflects the available stocks in DCs as supply elements in MFG. plant, so we can run one MRP planning run to get production planning.
My yet unsolved problem is the incorrect consumption of PIRs. I use strategy 10.
Ideally was if I found a way to consume planning in the MFG plant with sales in the DCs.
Any ideas?

Dear,
If you are maintaining the PIR in manufactering plant system will take the stock of manufactering plant.
Requirement will flow from DC to manufactering plant, In this case you maintain the requirement from in the form of PR from DC, how the system will understand the requirement from DC.
Hence correct and stright forward way is you need to maintai n stg 40 in C and maintain special stock indicator. Hence system will create PR after considering the stock at DC.
If this is not the case, you need to go for ZMRP.
Please come back your view is different and looking for some thing different

  • Consumption from different plant

    hello,
I want to have consumption in different plant than delivery plant.. (depending upon sales org & division) eg: I want to deliver from Plant A but consuption should happen always at Plant B after PGI.. i want to see this in MD62 after PGI.. When i do reverse of PGI, consumption should add back to Plant B (from where it is consumed) ..I have created a table with sales org & division and maintained plant from which you want to consume and made some correction in function module LE_ATP_RV_REQUIREMENT_GENERATE, but it doen't work.. Pl can you suggest the way where I can make it happen..

    Hi Kishore,
we have many plants under one sale sorg, we want to have consumption happen under one plant whenever sales happens from all these plants.. eg: I have IN01, IN02, IN03 plant for sorg IN00, when I use IN01 as consumption plant then I can put demand on this plant,,

  • REM PIR consumption.

    Hi Gurus,
Previously material has strategy 10,now i changed to 40 but the PIRs are not consuming by incoming orders.
In other plant materials having strategy 40 working fine, the same i wanted to do in different plant (in which strategy is 10)thats why i made changes from strategy10 to40.But it dosent works i.e. PIRs are not consuming by incoming orders.
    Pls help

    Hi Deven.
check in "Requirement Class, Tcode : OVZG, The "Transfer of Requirement should " (Rq) should be clicked (on). Also check the Allocation Indicator (Allln).
The Allocation Indicator Controls the consumption of customer requirements with planned independent requirements whereby the customer requirements type is only allocated one consumption st
Also check in Requirement Class, whether the Right Requirement has been Assigned to Requirement class. Tcode : OVZH.
If solved, reward point & close the Thread.

  • Sales Order and Production in different plants

    Dear Experts,
I have a scenario where Customer specific Sales orders (MTO) will be created in one common plant, whereas production can happen in 2 other plants.
The common plant doesn't physically exists and is created in SAP to cater common requirements (raw materials, plant equipment, shared services, common items etc).
There are 2 ways to create Sales order:
    1. Create order for both production plants in individual plants. (In SO line, specify the individual plant)
    2. Create order for the common plant. The requirements should be distributed to both the production plants.
If I go with the 2nd option, SD, LE and QM will not have pain areas.
But, when i run MRP, the SD requirement will show in common plant. How can I transfer that to production plant?
I do have PIRs in individual plants. The same should be reduced as well.
I can create an so specific order though CO08, which is not preferred. Is there a way to auto-convert the requirement to another plant?
    Thanks
    Prem

    Hello Prem,
Quota arrangement with special procurement type P ('Production in alternative plant')
As suggested you can use the Quota arrangement  in this case along with special procurement key production in alternative plant
Production in Alternative Plant - Special Planning Processes - SAP Library
The customizing for the special procurement SPRO -> Production -> Material Requirements Planning -> Master Data -> Define Special Procurement Type for both required plants.
For quota arrangement which has a special procurement P - Prod. other plant" defined in MEQ1, you should make sure that the field "procurement plant" is correctly maintained and percentage.
Quota usage should be 4 in material master. Please test this for PIR consumption BAdi 'MD_PIR_FLEX_CONS' will be helpful
Please see note  1967124 - BAdI enhancement for flexible primary independent requirements consumption/reduction.

  • Number range of  accounting document for different plants

whenever a billing document is created in SD (using the T-code VF01); an accounting document will be simultaneously created in the FI module. one document type(TS,number range---60:1 to 9999 ) have four  plants .different plants have own number range and sequential document number .
eg: doc. type   num.range    fr       to           plant cty       co code
             TS           61            1        1000       PLANT_1      3100

                            64           3001    4000       PLANT_4      3100
How can that carry out this function ?
thank you for your help !

    Hi leung,
As Mr.Rohit has mentioned it has to be done with the z table and the available user exit.
Wht we have done is.we have created no ranges in obj rv_beleg.Eg
    AA   0000000001 to 0000099999
    AB   0000100000 to 0000199999
    AC   0000200000 to 0000 299999.
Using the user exit we have created a Z table. And assignd for this ombination in the Ztable.
Plant X   Billing type A   AA
Plant Y   Billing Type A  AB
Plant Z    Billing type A  AC
Once this combination matches the appropriate invoice no range gets picked up.

  • PP-WM integration - staging pick parts across two different plants

    Hi,
    My requirements are as follows,
I have a manufacturing plant A and a Sales plant B. For the vast majority of cases goods are manufactured in A, transferred to B and then sold. However in a minority of cases finished goods are transferred from B back to the manufacturing plant A to be consumed in the manufacture of a different finished good e.g. relabelling to another material number etc. Plant B is full WM HU managed.
I want to enable pick parts staging via WM-PP. I am aware of the PP/WM integration steps in customizing but I am having difficulty in staging from plant B to A.
I have set up a WM HUM managed storage location for the production supply area in plant A and assigned to the same warehouse as plant B
Production Supply area is defined in Plant A
Replenishment movement type is defined for storage type
Storage Bin created in Plant A exact same type as bins in plant B
Control cycle created to link Production Supply Area and Storage bin for component materials
    Process steps
Create process order in plant A, list component material storage location as per production supply area storage location
Process order staging creates the transfer requirement correctly
However transfer requirement cannot convert to transfer order for staging. It does not appear to be able to recognise the stock in plant B and returns an error 'negative stocks not allowed in storage type'
My challenge is as follows, is it possible to setup staging of pick parts between two different plants using WM transfer orders?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
This is not possible. You can only stage from one plant and storage location - based on the supply area. The supply areas are maintained per plant and storage location and this is what the system will use for staging.

  • PIR Consumption - Sales Order & Service Order

    All -
I've come across an issue in our system as it relates to PIR consumption.  We create a PIR forecast which is designed to be consumed by orders.  (MM strategy group 40, PIR consumption indicator 1).  PIR is successfully consumed upon sales order creation.
In the same area of our business (aftermarket service and repair), we also require PIR consumption when component requirements are added to our repair service orders.
With the current setup (strat 40, CI 1), the PIR is not consumed after service order component addition.  It adds to the total material requirements.
I've altered our settings across the board to account for both order types, however, i am hitting a wall as to if my new settings are a help or a hinderance.
New settings are (MM strat 40, MM mixed MRP mode 3, PIR CI 3).
Visually, i can see that my total PIR count is actively reduced via MD04 monitoring, however, when looking at the PIR directly, I see that the PIRs have not been consumed.  Instead they are still active and the reqs are hidden.
I don't know if consumption of PIR is allowed for multiple order types.  I know that strat 40 directly relates to sales order requirement planning.  I do not know if there is a strategy that works similarly for both sales order AND service order types.  I'm also very skeptical of using mixed MRP mode 3 to accomplish the PIR consumption.
Could anyone enlighten me on this?  I can't find any information on this sort of order types with consumption.  If it's not possible to combine order types with PIR consumption, so be it.  I'd just like some info.
    Thank you in advance,
    Ehren

Sure thing. I'm running in our test client for the results, but my settings are identical:
Image 1 = MD04 result of addition of PIR using VSF with consumption indicator 3:
Image 2 = Addition of sales order requirement for the same part, VQTEST1.  Successfully consumes qty 1 of PIR material:
Image 3 = Modification of service order to add qty 1 of component VQTEST1. Rather than consuming one of the remaining PIRs, the order created a new requirement above the PIR forecast:

  • Batch Management in different plants

    Hey SAPers
I am using batch managment for certain materials. But I don't need batch management of same materials in other plant. SAP is not allowing to change the status in other plants.
Business needs to maintain materials in batches in warehouse but not in stores.
Do we have a way out for this problem.
    Please respond.
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    MAM.

    dear abdul
You can manage batches in different plants for many materials. For this reason, batches must be uniquely identifiable. In the SAP System, the batch number uniquely identifies the batch. You use the batch level to specify whether the batch number for a material is unique in one plant, or in all plants.
You choose the batch level in Customizing for Batch Management under Specify Batch Level and Activate Status Management
    Batch Levels
    Plant level
The batch number is unique in connection with the plant and material.
The batch number is only known in the plant in which it was created if the stock is transferred to another plant, the batch is unknown in the recipient plant and the system does not adopt any data. You have to recreate and specify the batch in the receiving plant; that is, the same batch number may have different specifications in several plants.
    Material level:
The batch number is unique in all plants in connection with the material.
The same batch number has the same meaning for the material in all plants. One batch number cannot have different specifications in different plants. During stock transfer to another plant, the specification of the batch is known in the destination plant even if the batch is placed into storage in that plant for the first time.
    Client level:
The batch number is unique in the whole client. A batch number can only be assigned once in the client. You cannot assign the same batch number for different materials.
The batch number is only unique at the chosen level.
    Changing the Batch Level
In the standard SAP System, the plant level is set as the batch level. If you want to use a different level in your company, you have to change it in Customizing and carry out a conversion program.
You choose the batch level in Customizing for Batch Management under Specify Batch Level and Activate Status Management.
While the conversion program is running, you can only post batches at the old level. You can only post batches at the new level after the conversion has been completed.
You cannot change back from a higher level to plant level in the standard system. However, you can change the batch level from client level back to material level.
To change the batch level from plant level to material level, the material has to be subject to batch management in all plants.
This will help you for config setting:

  • Stock transfer between 2 projects of different plants.

    Hi All,
We have two plants and each plant as multiple projects. Some time it is required to transfer stock between two project which are of different plants. Currently we are using MOVEMENT TYPE 415Q , where stock transfer is done using 4 steps. Our client is insisting to do it in SINGLE step.
Please advice whether it is possible.
    Thanks,
    Vengal Rao.

    Thanks Venkat,
For the quick reply, but here I think using 415Q in MB1B  it has more than one step, and our projects are in different plants, I mean both project are of different plants.
    Please clarify.

  • InfoPackage to load multiple flat file for different plant

    Hi
There is a requirements to load the data from multiple flat files by different plant into BI which source data is coming from other system. Each flat file has it own naming convention.
As data has to load via infopackage into the targeted cube. Then I have to create multiple infopackage in order to load the data according to the number of flat files that provided. However, new plant will be created due to expansion of bussiness. If that is the case, additional infopackage is required to create as and when there is a new plant.
Is there a way to create a infopackage to load the data from flat file by plant? Your advice is much appreciated.
    Thanks and regards
    Kang Ring

    Hi,
The best way I can suggest is....
    1. Create a folder in AL11 for your requirements.
    2. In InfoPackage under Extraxction Tab you can have File Name , just side of this you can fine ABAP Routines ICon there you click on that and asks Name give some and then it will takes to your into ABAP Code there you can access the AL11 and then write code in such way that to take file irrespective of the File name, whatever the file is there in that Folder it ahoud take from that AL11 Folder path.
    3. Load the Data using PC.
4.At the end of the PC Delete the File in AL11 folder , becasue we don't need it for next load.
    Else

  • While assigning batch material  get locked in different plant.

    Dear Guru,
After  implementation ,frequently  facing problem, In CO02  we are  assigning the  batch manually  to the  material  but  one material  is  configured  with valuation type  domestic / import. while  assinging the  bacth to the material  system  showes to another  user  who iis entering the same material in different plant  is  xxxx  user is locked the material  so  u cant  assign  the batch, but   batch we are maintiaining  in   material level. (batch maintianed in material  level.)
currently we are going  in sm12 transcationa and removing the lock, but   we want to know why it is happening. what is the root cause for the error.
    Please  advice.
    Thx

    HI
It is Standard SAP at a time same material or its masters cannot be used by multiple users ids or with same user id also
system gives error material is locked. You can unlock it thru SM12 but be careful while soing so some the data which the another user using may be or may not be lost.
the better way is to ask the user to come out of that material or release it after doing his work

Warm greetings Masters of Material Management
We have one material master for three different plants example  1000, 2000 &3000 with same material group  with different valuation class
If we change material group in plant 2000 it is reflected in 1000 & in 3000
My question is  this the standard practice that material group changed in one plant will be reflected in other plants

    Thank u Amola
The current situation, if user change  material group for plant 2000, it is effected in plant 1000 & in 3000
the impact of this is in purchase requisition

  • Procuring for 2 different Plants(Diff CoCd) in 1 PO

    Gurus
I have extended a Material to 2 different plants belonging to 2 different Company Codes with a Centralized Purchasing Organization.
E.g I used CoCd 0001 and 1000 in standard SAP system and two plants, each from these CoCds. The mat I used is extended to both these plants. In the PO I used a Purch Organization (Not assigned to CoCd, but to both those plants) and 0001. It worked!
    Plz lemme know...

For information on maintaining purchasing organizations, see the IMG activity Maintain purchasing organizations.
    You have the following options:
You can assign a purchasing organization to one company code. This is company-specific purchasing.
You can assign a purchasing organization to no company code. This purchasing organization can then procure for all plants assigned to it, irrespective of the company code to which the plant belongs.
Since each plant must be assigned to a company code, the company code can be determined via the plant in each procurement transaction, even if the procuring purchasing organization is not assigned to a company code.
A purchasing organization must be assigned to one or more plants. This is plant-specific purchasing.
For more information, see the IMG activity Assign purchasing organization to plant.

  • Different order unit for different plant

    Hi,
I ahve a material whose base unot of measure is kgs. Its purchase order unit for plant 1000 is Tonnes, and I want to have a different purchase order unit say LBS for plant 1100. Is it possible?
    Please advice.
    Regards,
    Vengal Rao.

    Hi,
You can maintain different order units for the different plants, since purchase view is at plant level.
Order unit field is available in the purchase view.
If required, you can maintain different order unit in the PO/Contracts other then the order unit in the material master record for that material and plant by activating variable order unit in the material master record - purchase view. In this way, you can maintain different order units in the PO for the same material and plant.
