PL/SQL package valid, but Oracle cannot "see" it

We recently upgraded from 8.1.7.2 to 8.1.7.4. A strange thing I have noticed is that even though a given package and spec are are listed as valid in the dba_objects table, I am unable to describe the package nor execute any of the package procedures/functions. When trying to execute, it indicates that the package does not exist. When I do a describe on it, it returns a blank line, yet I can pull the code from the dba_source table. To fix the problem, all I have to do is an "alter package xxxx compile".
Anyone know what could cause this problem. I'm not sure, but think it could be related to 8.1.7.4 since I never noticed it when we were on 8.1.7.2. This can be quite troublesome to trouble shoot.

Steven, I don't have an answer for your problem, but we experience a similar problem on 8.1.7.4. All packages are valid, but a call to a particular packaged function, on a brand new session, results in: ORA-06508 PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called.
Our "cure" is to compile the respective package body, although it is already compiled and valid, at least according to the data dictionary.

Because you've got music and movies streaming to your Apple TV, I know you've authorized Home Sharing under the file menu of iTunes. But under that same iTunes file menu you must also go to the "Home Sharing" pull-down and select "Choose Photos to Share With Apple TV". You can select All photos, or just specific albums. Maybe worth saying again that this is done from iTunes and not iPhoto.
If you've already done this and still no photos on AppleTV, check to see that your photo file names (previously imported into iPhoto) have valid suffixes (such as photo.jpg). Without that valid suffix, iPhoto on your Mac will show the photo just fine (courtesy of the hidden Type Code embedded in the photo file), but AppleTV will not.

all configurations was ok and working fine (meaning data was extracted on source and replayed on target) before extract/replicat processes restart

Not necessarily. I'd suggest downloading and installing the "combo" update. That's a combination (thus the clever name) of all the updates to Leopard since it was first released, so installing it should fix anything that's gone wrong since then, such as with one of the normal "point" updates. Try the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - Run Option #1, Repair Permissions, followed by Option #4, Rebuild Database, if needed.

There are some bugs that can cause this issue. If you are adding long, smooth scrolling pages (ie 1024x3000) and performing a "New" to add the page from the Folio Builder Panel versus using the "Import" command, this issue can be caused.
As the previous posted said, you need to either have all horizontal, all vertical, or all horizontal and all vertical pages. You cannot have a mix of both. If there is a fundamental error with your folio, it iwll not be available in the viewer.

Are you seeing an Invite Window ?
Video Invites are normally top centre of your screen and will appear to "float" over any other app you you using.
Audio Only invites are top and right of the screen.

Yes, they do play in iTunes. (And just in case you don't know, I am on my home computer where I originally set up my iPod.) When I hook up my iPod to my computer the songs are there on my ipod, while veiwing it on iTunes, and they play, they just won't play on my iPod. And no, I don;t get an authorization window that pops up when I play the song/video, they play automatically
