Placing a Webpage in a window subsection

Hello,
i have an application running. My wish is that when the user clicks on a LinkToUrl element (say to display a map), that the referred webpage be included into the present window and not be opened in a separate window.
Is this technically possible. If Yes, then how? Any alternatives?
Regards,
Gerald

Hi Gerald,
You could use an iframe in case the content is display-only. Otherwise, portal navigation could be used. You will have to use a LinkToAction in both cases.
Best regards,

  • Unable to center webpage in browser window!!!

    Hi! I have looked for and tried almost everything to center my webpage in the browser window yet it doesn't work!
    this is the page: www.claudechalhoub.com. I want the page to be centered regardless of the browser window size!
    I have included the following code in my html:
    <style type="text/css">
    body {
    text-align:center; /*For IE6*/
    margin: 0;
    padding: 0;
    min-width:770px;
    background-image: url(pictures/lastimage.jpg);
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    background-color: #000;
    font-family: "Palatino Linotype", "Book Antiqua", Palatino, serif;
    color:#FFF;
    font-style: normal;
    #wrapper {
    width: 770px;
    margin:0 auto;
    text-align: left;
    </style>
    And then I've included:
    <body>
    <div id="wrapper">
    <div id="ap_text"> "The beauty of Claude Chalhoub's music is that it doesnt sound "new" at all. It sounds familiar, even if you have never listened to Arabic music (or classical music) at all. As if it had always been there. It's as natural as breathing. And that's what great art is all about – making the difficult seem easy."</div>
    </div><!--close the wrapper div -->
    </body>
    I can not figure out what is wrong for it not to work!
    Any guidance???

    If you still insist you want to have your image within the background image, you could just change your 'body' css tag as follows:
    body {
    text-align:center; /*For IE6*/
    margin: 0;
    padding: 0;
    min-width:770px; /*minimum fixed width to suit majority of smallest browser widths*/
    background-image: url(pictures/lastimage.jpg);
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    background-color: #000;
    font-family: "Palatino Linotype", "Book Antiqua", Palatino, serif;
    color:#FFF;
    font-style: normal;
    background-position: center top;
    Center positions is horizontally and top positions it vertically.

  • Compaq Mini CQ10-101SA Windows XP - Unable to view entire software or webpages in a window

    Hi all!
    We have a Compaq Mini CQ10-101SA which is running Windows XP.  We have an issue with the display on certain webpages and software whereby you cannot see the entire page in the window.  While this has been somewhat "inconvenient" when viewing webpages, it has now become a problem as we cannot use an important software package that we have installed.
    Attached is a screen shot of the software in question - Hogia Smart Kassa (a point of sale till system).  The bottom third of the page is missing, and you cannot scroll down to see it.  This is a problem as it is where the "pay now" button is!
    I have tried different screen resolution settings, DPI settings, and screen appearance settings in the "Display" area of the control pannel but nothing stops this from happening.  Is there a "shrink to fit" button that will show the entire page on the screen in a smaller size?  Can anyone help?!
    Many thanks,
    Ashley

    Good Morning @AshleyElliott ,
    It is a fantastic place to find answers and information!
    For you to have the best experience in the HP forum I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide Learn How to Post and More
    I grasp that your retail software displays to large on the screen.  If there is a way to set a screen setting for a particular program you would need to check with the manufacture for that setting.
    In the meantime you can try this as a work around.  Once you have the  pay window launched if you press and hold  the CTRL and press the minus sign it will make the screen smaller.  To enlarge it you would press and hold CTRL and press the + sign.
    I hope this helps.

  • Some webpages resize the window but when the window opens in a new tab, the entire firefox browser is resized. How do I stop this from happening?

    This usually happens when the window is resized in order to fit the smaller content/intention for a webpage.
    I would like Firefox to ignore the window resizing (down sizing) commands when opening a window in a new tab and just display the window in full size.

    Go into ''Tools > Options > Content'' and next to where it says ''Enable JavaScript'', click ''Advanced...''' and then untick ''Move or resize existing windows''.
    This is the only way to do it. I believe there is a bug filed to prevent all sites (by default) from resizing the window if there are more tabs open, but I don't think it has been fixed.

  • Why are webpages narrow on Windows 7 with Firefox 6?

    Recently got a new PC that has Windows 7 installed. I downloaded Firefox as my browser. Version 6. All webpages are narrow and font size is small. Do no have this problem if I use IE. Is there a setting that I need to change in Firefox?

    If you have increased the minimum font size then choose the default setting "none".
    *Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
    *Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"
    Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems: <b>View > Zoom > Reset</b> (Ctrl+0 (zero); Cmd+0 on Mac)
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Zoom_text_of_web_pages
    You can use an extension to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages.

  • How can I open all webpages within one window, using tabs?

    As new user I am missing the opportunity to open a link with a new tab. Firefox opens it often within a new window. Using CTRL can solve it, but I'm not used to that.
    I used IE and IE has a setting to open everything within a new tab, instead of in a new window.
    Is something like that possible for Firefox?
    (I read something like that some website needs to be opened with a new window, because it would show better. To me that is nonsense, because I can decide for myself how to open a page.)
    So please add a setting for that, I think it would please more people than just me.
    TIA,
    Jaap

    In the Tools menu select Options to open the options window. In the options window go to the Tab panel and make sure the setting "Open new windows in a new tab" is selected.
    Firefox only has a small number of tab settings listed on the Options window, you can get far greater control over tabbed browsing by using an add-on. Some examples that greatly enhance tabbed browsing features are:

  • Compress avi file to be placed on webpage

    I have a 50 mg avi movie taken from my canon still photo camera and it's in iphoto that I would like to compress to send to a webpage for family to view. Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Mike

    Ok I think I copied the .avi file into iTunes, but what do I do in "advanced tab"?
    I don't see the file in my videos?
    Mike
    You don't necessarily need the Pro upgrade.
    (Did the kkirkster actually write that?)
    New to iTunes 6.0.2 is a feature that allows your to
    "Convert to iPod".
    Look under the "Advanced" menu after adding the .avi
    to your iTunes Library.
    If the file plays properly in iTunes it should also
    convert to .m4v format that can be used in a properly
    formatted Web page.

  • Firefox is placing a cursor in the html window of pages that cannot be edited messing up the scroll option using the arrow keys

    Whenever I click in a window pane to scroll using my arrow keys it is placing a cursor in the window and scrolling off of it, instead of scrolling the entire page by using the arrow key it is scrolling by the cursor location inside of the window like a word document.

  • How can I make "Open Link in New Tab" open the new tab in the same window, not a different window?

    When I Ctrl-click a link and choose "Open Link in New Tab" it chooses to open the new tab in a different window (one that's already open) rather than opening the new tab in the same window. Even though the other window is minimized, it automatically gets restored and placed on top of the window I was in. This interferes with my context, forcing me to minimize the window again to get back to the one I was in before. I want the new tab to open in the same window, so I can still see the tab I was in. Some links seem to have the "Open Link in New Tab" behavior automatically, so I never know when I'm going to get thrown out of my current window. Very annoying.

    If you have a mouse with a scroll button then try to middle click the link to open the link in a new tab.
    It is also possible that the links use onclick JavaScript instead of a href to specify the action.

  • Windows 8, problems to show cameras in a flash application

    I have a flash application that shows at screen the cameras that the operating system detects, and works fine on windows 7 but now, in windows 8, i have troubles with several cameras. For example firewire cámeras or screen capture driver.
    I made a simple test application:
    http://mainstream.atnova.com/test/testCamaras.html
    The same code executed like an air application seems to work, and the same webpage, running in windows 7, shows all the cameras right.
    Is there any bug on flash player for windows 8?
    Thanks.

  • HOW TO DUAL BOOT W540 with windows 8.1 / 7

    I got my W540 recently with windows 8.1 pro on it. but as all engineers worst nightmare windows 8 has hard time with engineering softwares (for my case TIA Portal for  PLC programming software which only support windows 7). so i need to have a windows 7. i prefer to keep my windows 8 and have dual boot system with windows 7 added. But i can't install windows 7. initially due to disk type (GPT), then i changed it to MBR without losing my files (which only was possible if i had deleted the recovery partition- now my recovery is on my flash drive). But there are already 4 partitions on the system (1 for C: drive and 3 for recovery and system files which came originally with the product) , how can i install a windows 7? i can't add another partition because that makes my disk a Dynamic disk (which i don't really know what is). all in all, i really need windows 7 on my system ASAP.  If anyone know how to fix this please reply. Thanks guys.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    You are limited to four PRIMARY partitions on an MBR disk.
    But other than the "active" partition (i.e. the small 100MB "system reserved" partition where Boot Manager is placed from doing a cold Windows install on an empty drive, or the 1.4GB equivalent Boot Manager partition that Lenovo provides along with other tools and utilities), all other partitions on the drive can be "logical".  They are not required to be PRIMARY, although Lenovo delivers its partitions that way.  But you can change that.
    You can have up to 120 LOGICAL partitions on a drive (all of which live inside an originally PRIMARY partition which gets converted to an "extended partition" which houses all of the logical partitions.  So if you have at least one logical partition (and thus have to give up one primary partition in order to build that required "extended partitions"), that means you can have up to three remaining primary partitions and up to 120 logical partitions... all on an MBR disk.  No "dynamic", and no GPT.
    Yes, that means even the Windows system partition itself (i.e. "C") can be on a LOGICAL partition.  It's only that one "active" partition (where the BIOS goes to find Boot Manager and its menu, and kick off the rest of the system boot process) which truly must be PRIMARY.  That's the only requirement.
    So, if you want to use MiniTool's Partition Wizard to carve out sufficient free space for your second Windows 7 partition (by shrinking your existing Win8 partition), you can create one or more logical partitions inside that new free space, and do the Win7 install to one of those empty logical partitions.  You can then use a second logical partition in that same free space for "data", if you want.
    Note that Partition Wizard can even convert one of your existing primary partitions to logical (i.e. convert it to an "extended partition", inside of which will be then be the original primary partition now converted to logical).  You can then shrink or move/resize the partitions on the drive (both primary and logical) however you want, to perhaps make room for additional "logical" partitions inside of that now present "extended partition" which can hold up to 120.  You can even convert ALL of your primary partitions except for the one "active" partition (which MUST BE PRIMARY) to logical partitions, which gives you maximum flexibility in having even more than just two bootable OS's along with one or more data partitions, etc., up to 120 logical partitions... plus the one "active" primary Boot Manager "system reserved" partition which must be kept.

  • Web page hosting on Windows 7

    I am using Home Control Assistant to control lights in my house. HCA uses a web page to allow other computers in the house to control devices. I am unable to access  the webpages since installing Windows 7. I have enabled the port 9955. I am unable to localhost:9955 and retrieve the webpage either. • Problem with the Finder window in Chrome

    Hello,
    I have a problem with my finder window in Chrome.
    Since the window isn't a separate window anymore, but stuck to the top of the webpage, my finder window is too big. I can't read the "Cancel" or "Send" (I have no idea what's supposed to be there in English but I assume it's something like "send" and "cancel") buttons. I have provided some images of the problem, even if I make the Chrome window as small as possible, the finder window still is too big for my screen. I can resize the finder window from lest to right, but not up or down, which is extremely irritating for me.
    If anyone can help me how I can solve this problem.
    Thanks!

    I found the solution on another thread...Here it is.
    "I was having the same problem.  I found a way to make it smaller.  First, I opened chrome and clicked the green button on the window to make chrome go into full screen.  Then I tried to save a file to make the finder window open in chrome. When it opened in full screen I could see the bottom of the window so I resized it to make it a little smaller.  Once I did this it remembered the size so now I can access the bottom buttons when I take it out of full screen mode. Hope this helps."
    Worked like a charm!
