Plan query output based on Characteristic Relation.

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement to display all the characteristic relationships which are defined based on DSO for a Real time Infocube when we execute the query with the help of web template. Can anyone put some light on this.

  • Query output based on date - Oracle 8i

I am trying to write a very simple query to output data based
on date ranges, but I keep encountering an error.
    When I do this statement:
    select * from my.table
    where startdate > '2008-01-01'
    I get this error:
[ODBC][Ora]ORA-01861: literal does not match format string
When I format the select statement this way:
    select * from my.table
    where startdate > #2008-01-01#
    i get this error:
    [ODBC][Ora]ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected DATE
    got NUMBER
Currently using CF8, and what I believe is Oracle 8i. I have
tried formatting this data in many other ways, but can't get it to
work. I know that when I query the database via access, it has no
problem returning results with the SQL date formatted like
    #01/01/2008#

You can use the Oracle to_date() function to convert your
    string to a date/time object:
    select * from my.table
    where startdate > to_date('2008-01-01', 'YYYY-MM-DD')
Or, since you are using an ODBC connection to Oracle, you can
try using the ColdFusion CreateODBCDate() function:
    select * from my.table
    where startdate > #CreateODBCDate("2008-01-01")#
Or, as already suggested, use cfqueryparam with the
    appropriate CFSQLType, such as
CF_SQL_TIMESTAMP instead of CF_SQL_INTEGER like you are
    attempting to do.
You can't use a "string" date value against a date/time
column in an Oracle query, as it won't perform an implicit type
    conversion.

  • Query output based on the date range ...

    Hi All,
I have an issue related to the jump query, main query based on the time frame. For Example if he selects Sold_To : 6895 for the Calday 10/01/2007 – 01/31/2008 and when jumps to jump query , the jump query should display the data based on the input given in the main query. That is it should show the data individually for four months.
Expecting the reply from your side...
    Thanks in advance…

    Sruthi,
Make sure that u have those 3 fields in 2nd Query and CALDAY with Variable.
    Create settings in RSBBS.
    Click on ASSIGNMENT DETAILS tab
CALDAY  >  Type = Variable  > Selection Type = Selection/Single value/Multiple single values ( same like ur first query )
    All other fields ( 3 na ) > Type = Generic
    Click on Continue / Save.

  • Characteristic selected in Dropdown box does not influence planning query

    Dear all,
We have a problem filling all the characteristics in a planning query to make it possible to plan, inside a BEx Layout.
We are using Dropdown boxes to restrict the characteristics in the query so it can be able to plan. Only when we put the characteristic in the lines of the query it is able to being able to plan on the required conditions. This results in a query with many characteristics in the lines and therefore unattractive to the users. We believe that it should be possible to restrict the characteristics in the query by drop-down box. Can you explain us how to achieve this restriction in the planning query.
    Kind Regards,
    Mazzz

    Hi Mazzz,
you have to insert a dropdown menu, link it to one dataprovider (maybe the same of the query) ad set some simple paramiters in dropdown (chose characteristic end so on..)
    hope this helps

  • Help with Planning Query - 0CALMONTH not showing up

Hi, I have a simple planning query where I am trying to allow users to input or change an Amount by Material/Month.  The User inputs a Version and a Date Range to maintain.  The selected dates should show up going across the screen even if there is no existing data.  These Variables are in the Query Filter along with a few other characteristic Filters.  So in my query I have 0MATERIAL in the Rows and I have 0CALMONTH and my Key Figure.  Under advanced for the characteristic 0CALMONTH it is set as Master Data.
When I run the query for some reason the 0CALMONTHS do not show up going across.  If I run the query and put in one value then the 12 months show up.  Seems like a bug.  I have another similar query where this works.  Can anyone take a look at the screen shots and help me figure this out?

    Dear  Kenneth,
I think its a bug.  If we post the value without the drilldown on 0CALMONTh then its open for the input, and after that if we drill down it with 0CALMONTH for same selection, it opens for input.  but for new selection of month it not opens.
    Have you solved the problem?

  • User entry in Query output screen

    Hi Friends,
Is there any option to allow user entry in the query output (not variable entry screen), so that the output will change accordingly?
    Regards,
    Guru

    Hi,
Once query output is generated you can not have any variable selections further. What you can do is, Filter your output based on existing characteristics.
If there are any free characteristics available you can drilldown on them or put filter restrictions on them and you can get the new data for those required attributes.
But you can not change the original output set once generated, you will have to re-execute the query.

go to change mode of query
in that set the query properties /go to the query property secreen
in the "Display " tab set the supperssion as "active (all value=0)" and in structure properties select the check box "also use  zero suppression for strucure element"

  • Result Row in the query output

    Hi,
If I restrict a characteristic by hierarchy then I can’t have the result row displayed. If the hierarchy active is removed then the result row gets displayed. All characteristics are marked to show the result row.
This characteristic is Account Number. If in the query definition I remove the restriction on account numbers and just select hierarchy active and the required hierarchy in the properties then I get the result row in the output. But now it also displays all the unassigned account numbers in a separate node “Not Assigned Account Number (s)”.
I can’t even restrict it in the output with hierarchy active selected. When I do select filter value in the output the options Include in Selection and exclude from Selection are grayed out and hence can’t select it.
    Please advice on this issue…
    Thank you,
    sam

    Hi Jaya,
I think you misunderstood my issue.
My problem is not that i do not want to see the field. But instead, i do not want to see only the results row in the query output.
I need to have the results to populate a calculation via sumct formula.
My question is, can sumct be populated if i hide/supress RESULT row ?

  • Total Line in BEX query output

    Hello,
I have a requirement, where we have to show just total line in output for BEX query. We want to hide {though hide feature will not work} line items that we process. How can we do it?
       Requirement goes like this:
Let say for orders, we have order requested date and actual delivered date. The query formula processes all line items for given selection and measures ontime, late and early shipments based on date in variable exit we have. At output (that is in total line)query will write have % ontime late early.
So for selection calmonth we need to show % ontime late early but for that we need to process all line items to get % calculation. So, how can I keep only total line in query output.
For example: Output should look like for selection of calmonth, plant - product  or shipping point etc..
Calmonth plant - % ontime late early or
Calmonth product - % ontime late early or
Calmonth shipping point - % ontime late early
It is working in a way it shows all line items and total line at last. All I want is total line and ignore line items.
      Thanks,
      Aj

Remove the drilldowns for the "detail" characteristics that you do not want to see. The report will then display only the "totals" that you do want to see.
    Hope this helps...

  • Setting time critical digital output based on axis position (PCI-7358)

    HI,
I need to set a time critical digital output based on encoder position (this will switch fast acting valves). I was planning to try the general purpose DIO but I can't find any examples, I have been through the manuals, searched the site etc. Where can I find help with this, all the examples only seem to deal with digital input triggering or RTSI? I'm thinking of an onboard program that just monitors encoder positions and sets digital outputs.
Some time back I seem to remember reading that general purpose DIO should not be used for time critical operations, is that correct? And if so what are the other options - RTSI going to another DIO board? The DIO really needs to be deterministic, is RTSI the only option?
    Any advice appreciated / Martin
    Certified LabVIEW Architect

Even with an onboard program you will always get a delay of several milliseconds between your axis has crossed the position and until the digital outputs are set. If this is ok for you then you could choose this approach.
For the case that you only want to toggle one digital line the Breakpoint feature should be the best solution as it toggles the breakpoint output almost immediately when the breakpoint positions are reached.
If you need to change a whole pattern instead of only a single line then the approach you mentioned would be the best solution (RTSI and high-speed DIO like the 653x boards). Combine this approach with the breakpoint feature by routing the breakpoint output to RTSI and using this as a update clock signal for the DIO board.

  • Removing Leading zeros from query output.

    Hello Experts,
Is it possible to remove leading zeros from the query output for a particular column?
I have a characteristics 'Reference Document' which has values like '000001386'. The users just need '1386' to be displayed and have asked us to remove the leading zeros.
Is there something that can be done for this at a query level? I can't modify the underlying InfoProvider because this requirement is just for one set of users, the other users need the document nmber in the original format.
    Thanks
    Arvind

    Hi,
you can use ALPHA conversion option in the definition of that particular characteristic.
    Try this code  in a routine.,in query designer;
    data a(9) value '000001386'.
SHIFT a LEFT DELETING LEADING '0'.
    write:/ a.
    Output will be : 1386
    Or use this method also
    data a(9) value '000001386'.
    Call function 'CONVERSION_EXIT_ALPHA_OUTPUT'
    Exporting
    input = a
    Importing
    output = a.
    write a.
    output:
    1386

  • Query Result based on the Parameter Form

Good Morning folks. I really couldn't come up with a smart enough Subject Line but I will try and make it up in the body.
I currently have a report that accepts Parameters on the Parameter Form. They are Employee ID# and Number of Copies. The Employee ID is stored in the Employee table but the number of copies is not.
The output on the Report shows all the different addresses and Phone Numbers the Employee has. Lets say, Employee ID 0001 has two addresses -- Home and Office. In the Report output based on my Query, it is going to return me two records in the Repeating Group. I however, have another parameter along with the Employee ID which is the Number of Copies. In this case, if the Number of Copies to be printed is 1, then its not an issue. However, if the Number of Copies entered by the User is 4, I would expect in that case 4 x 2 = 8 pages of Report output (4 with the Home Address and 4 with the Office Address).
I know there is way to do this using a Temporary table in AfterPForm and then using the results in the Query by joining my query to the Temporary table but I was really hoping to avoid this situation if it can be handled through the Query.
    Main Query:
    SELECT    e.emp_no,
              e.saln||e.first_name||' '||e.last_name emp_name,
              a.street,
              a.city||' '||a.province||' '||a.postal_code city,
              '('||a.tel_area||') '||a.tel_number telephone
    FROM      employee e, emp_address a
    WHERE     e.emp_no = a.emp_no
AND       e.emp_no = :P_EMP_NO;Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I think I have not explained my requirements clearly and I have missed some valuable information. I will go ahead and start again.
We do have quite a few reports with similar scenarios, so avoiding Temporary tables would be very beneficial if this works using Queries.
I have a Report that has a Parameter Form. This Parameter form has 6 fields in total.
Three of them belong to Customer ID# and 3 belong to Number of Copies.
    User Parameters for Customers: P_CUST_ID1, P_CUST_ID2, P_CUST_ID3
User Parameters for the Number of Copies: P_N1, P_N2, P_N3
So, the field PF_CUST_ID1 would have a source with P_CUST_ID1 and the field PF_N3 would have a source P_N3
    Form Paramater:
      PF_CUST_ID1   ----------         PF_N1   ---
    PF_CUST_ID2   ----------         PF_N2   ---
PF_CUST_ID3   ----------         PF_N3   ---So, at any given point, there could be a maximum of 3 Customer ID's passed to the main query. Here is an example of what the input parameters could look like.
User chose to enter values for Customer ID's 1 and 2 and left it blank for Customer 3.
      Customer ID1   1001         Number of Copies   2
    Customer ID2   1002         Number of Copies   3
Customer ID3   ----         Number of Copies   -The Query that retrieves data looks something like this. The query below is intended to fetch Customer Home and Office Addresses.
Of course, it is possible that there might be No home or Office Address or both.
    SELECT    c.cust_no,
              c.saln||c.first_name||' '||c.last_name cust_name,
              a.address_type,
              a.street,
              a.city||' '||a.province||' '||a.postal_code city,
              '('||a.tel_area||') '||a.tel_number telephone
    FROM      customer c, customer_address a
    WHERE     c.cust_no = a.cust_no
    AND       c.cust_no IN (:P_CUST_ID1, :P_CUST_ID2, :P_CUST_ID3);Based on my query:
Customer ID 1001 has 3 Addresses (2 Home and 1 Office) --> Total number of Records = 3
Customer ID 1002 has 2 Addresses (1 Home and 1 Office) --> Total number of Records = 2
The output should be something like this. I have put a Label Copy1, Copy2 and Copy3 to show
how the data will appear for readability.
Cust No Customer Name      Address Type    Address Line 1         Address Line 2        Telephone

    Hi Experts,
Does anybody know how to create a query/report based on statistics??
For eg: I got one report output in excel sheet with SAP logo, this report gives the details of All the queries with long runtime.
The columns in the report are Query,Navigations,Mean Rumtime and Number of users. I want to create similar one can anybody explain me how to?(I am working on BI7.0)

    Pia,
No need to create a new report. Activate BI statistics and these reports are available. check below links...

  • Remove comma in query output from Char used as KF

    Hello Friends,
To be able to display a characteristic in a particular way I used formula variable and displayed it as Key Figure in the query output. By doing this I am getting the output in the required format, but only problem is that the value is being displayed with commas. As it is an order number, I want to display it without commas.
I don't want to use VB as the query is to be published in web also.
Please suggest if there is any way to achieve this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Praveen

Hey Praveen, there's a few ways to skin this cat. The simplest method is to make sure that the user parameters in SU3 don't have commas for numbers. The problem is that this is a global setting so you won't get commas for other numbers in which you may want commas. Also, you'd have to make sure your replacement variable was defined as type "number". The other options include using VBA in BEx, and/or Table Interface in the Web. If you are using BW 3.5, you can use XSLT to render a table with and not have commas for that value by using the XML Query Result Set Item. Hope that helps,
    Prakash
