Planning of Dependent Requirements for BOM Components in Make to Order scen

Hi Friends - I want to execute a full cycle Make to Stock Scenario with Materials planning using MRP.
The scenario will include BOM Components with Routing.
The process flow I want to execute -
1. Create a Sales Order for a Finished Product (Product should have a BOM for Production)
2. Do the product Materials Planning for the Sales Order through MD50
3. Get all the dependent material requirements (both for products as Planned Order and also for BOM Components - all the BOM components should also be planned)
4. Convert Planned Order for Product to Production Order
5. Convert Planned Orders for BOM components to Purchase Requisition
6. Confirm Production Order
To execute this I have done the following
1. I have created a Material Master data for Finished Product (FERT).
2. I have assigned Item Category Group - NORM, and General Item Category group as NORM
3. I have assigned MRP Type PD in MRP 1 View and Strategy Group 20 (Make to Order Production) in MRP 3 View.
4. Now created a Universal (Type 3) BOM for the product with one material component.
5. Now also created a Routing for the Material with two operations having PP01 a control key.
6. Now created a standard sales order for the product.
7. Executed the MD50 for the Sales Order Item.
Now where do I find the BOM components for this material in the Sales Order?
After executing the planning Run MD50 I am only getting the requirements for Product only. I can't see any dependent requirements for the BOM components.
How do I make sure that the BOM components are also planned while the product is planned?
I have checked the component Stock Requirement List - there are no requirements generated from the Sales Order Product BOM.
Pls help me on this. How to do this so that the raw material components are also planned?
Thanks
Purnendu

Hi Dhaval, Sandeep, Ashok - Thanks a lot for your replies.
I have checked the Planned Order Created through Planning Run.
If I click on the Components Tab I am getting following message
No material components were determined
Message no. 61027
Diagnosis
Until now, no BOM explosion has been carried out or no BOM has been created for this material yet.
Procedure
Either explode the bill of material for this material, or
create the components manually by processing the planned order in change mode.
If I try to explode the BOM through Header Menu - Edit> Explode BOM
I am getting the same message.
If I click on the Bill of Material Tab - I am getting the same above messge.
Ashok - I have tried both the Selection Method -
Nil - Selection by Order Quant.
1 - Selection by Explosion Date
But with no effect.
Waiting for your advice.
Thanks and warm regards
Purnendu

  • Dependent requirements for Top level materials planned in MRP

    Hey Gurus,
A top level material 20350 has a component 30397 and both of these materials are planned in APO.  We have another top level material 30399 (but this material is planned in MRP) and the component 30397 (is planned in APO) will the dependent requirements from material 30399 be populated in APO for material 30397?
    Sincerely,
    Kris

    Kris
As Datta has mentioned the dependent demand will not reflect for the component material in APO. We had the same scenario as yours and this is what we did
We modified the Planned order integration model filter criteria by adding custom logic in the BAdI CIF_INT_MODEL. The logic was to query the BOM tables in R/3 and find out all parents that have SNP relevant materials as components and include these parents in the list of materials for which planned orders are to be CIF'ed from R/3 . The BAdI will be invoked when you run the IM generation .
You also have to CIF the BOM to APO . Once the PDS and planned orders are available in APO , the dependent demand will be created automatically. ( If you do not want to modify the BAdI then you can write a query and identify the parents and add them to the integration model manually)
    Thanks

  • How to create requirement for BOM, not for its components?

    Dear gurus,
I have never worked in PS module before. Now I have the following task:
There is Project, Network and WBS. I inserted material for operation in WBS and exploded the material.
Now the system must create requirement for this material but NOT for components of BOM. How can I configure the system?
P.S. We don't use MRP and we can't change Material Master Data.

If you have never worked on PS module I am not sure if you will be able to configure the system
please attend some courses in PS from your local SAP academy course names are PLM200, PLM210, PLM220, PLM230, PLM240
for your specific requirements I would recommend PLM200 and PLM220

  • CIF - Dependent Requirements for Product Planned Externally

    Hi Experts,
I have flagged a product in APO to be planned externally [Procurement type: P - external procurement planning].
I see it has Planned Externally in the Planned Orders where it is used as a component.
My problem is that que Requirements are not transfered to R/3 so the product can be planned by MRP.
What are the necessayr settings to maintain (excluding the technical CIF settings to connect R/3 to APO).
    Thanks,
    Marc

    Hi Kumar,
So basically, you are saying that I can only transfer planned orders through the CIF and that I was wrong in assuming that I could transfer Dependent Requirements directly ?
    Thanks,
    Marc

  • Planning of dependant requirements in continuous production

    Hi Experts,
    The scenario is as follows.
We are producing a bulk material and packing it in to bags. We have orders for bulk material and packaging material. This is a continuous production. i.e. we donu2019t have to wait till the completion of the bulk material production to start the packing.
Just after the production of 1st batch of bulk, I can start packing. This means the bulk material order and packing material order are overlapped. How can I map this scenario in R/3 MRP so that the overlap appears in the scheduling?
    Thanks & Regards
    Prathib

    Prathib,
What I am looking for is an overlap when I run MRP.
I am going to assume that the 'bulk material' is a component of the 'packing material'. I believe you can achieve your requirement through your BOM explosions.  The dates of dependent requirements can easily be offset from the start date of the higher level (packing) order.
One method is to assign portions of the Bulk component BOM to different routing operations of the higher level (packing) production order.  For this to work, you obviously must have more than one operation in the higher level (packing) order.  You also must use Lead time scheduling during the MRP run to make this work for the planned orders.
A second method is to use a fixed offset. In this case, the lower level (bulk) order completion date is offset from the higher level (packing) start date by a fixed duration of days.  This offset can be entered at the detailed item level in the BOM (CS02)
Finally, you can create a distribution function (OPB3), and a distribution key (OSPA), in which you can fine tune exactly the timing of the dependent requirements, using 'percentage of completion logic'.  This distribution key can then be assigned at the detailed item level of the BOM.

  • Sales for BOM components

    Dear All,
We have all the components of a finished product in our stock. The product assembly is very simple.
So, very well, we can send the components directly to customer, if he is willing to assemble it himself. This way we can reduce the time to deliver it to customer.
Is there some process like this in SAP where this is possible?
    Regards,
    Prakash

    Hi
If you want to deliver the componentS as well as charge PRICE for the components, then the Item category Group for the Main item should be  LUMF and the Item category Group of the Sub-Items(Componenets) should be  NORM.
Once  the BOM material is exploded in the Sales order, then you will find the Item category of the Main Item as TAP and the Item category of the Sub-item as TAN.

  • Records for BOM components that was backflushed.

    Hi gurus,
I need to get the records for the BOM components that was backflushed on that posting date. Can i get that as i am unable to find through the material document list.
Is that the components appearing in the material document reflect the same of the BOM components??
Why because , sometimes the components will be missing for some reasons while backflusing..!
    Thanks for your understanding.
    Naveen.A

    Dear Alapati naveen,
If you are able to see 261 movement material documents, then it means those components were
backflushed at the time of confirmation.
If there's an error in discrete it goes to COGI and in REM it goes to MF47,only after they are cleared
from respective transaction codes you will be able to 261 movements.
So while doing backflush in MFBF,let's assume we need B and C,and ther's a deficit of stock for B ,so
it alone goes to MF47 and 261 will be posted in MFBF.
So in MB51 check for 261 movement and 262 reversals.

  • Planning strategy for Both scenario of Make to order and make to stock

    Hi
My client having Both scenario of Make to order and make to stock ,so please explain me step by step which Planning strategy is use for following situation
1.Forecast the production quantities for the variants and create the PIRs
2.sales order is created for variants
3.Planned independent requirements should consumed by incoming sales orders
Note:If it is MTO scenario i need sales order reference number in production order
    With regards
    Laxmipathi

    Hi,
You can Define Strategy Group under SPRO>Production>Prod.Planning>PIR>Planning strategy-->define st.Group.
In this step, you group strategies together into a strategy group. You can determine a main strategy as well as up to seven alternative strategies.
The main strategy is proposed in demand management or in sales order management and can be overwritten by another planning strategy defined in the strategy group.
You can allocate the strategy groups to the materials directly in the material master record, or you can allocate the strategy groups to an MRP group and then in a second step allocate the MRP group to the material in the material master record.
    Hope it will help you.
    Regards,
    Mukesh

  • Switch Off rounding for BOM Components in Sales Order

    Hi all,
We are using a multi-level sales BOM that has finished goods as components. These materials have a rounding profile attached to them. However, we want the rounding profile to be active ONLY when these materials are sold individually and not as a part of the BOM. Is there a way to switch off rounding for child level materials when they are a part of the BOM ?
    Appreciate your responses.

We solved the same using the item cat configuration.

  • RISING PURCHASE ORDER ONLY FOR BOM COMPONENTS

    Hi Guys,
My client want, system should allow to create Purchase order for the material which are used as a component of a BOM. For other material system should not allow to create purchase order.
How can we meet this requirment.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Maintain the Plant-Specific Material Status as 01 at Purchasing view of the MMR for all other materials which are not defined as a BOM component.

  • ECM - History Requirement for BOM status not activated

    Hello,
He have an issue with the warning message  displayed when we are trying to modificate an BOM (transaction CS02).
In OS25 transaction we defined that only BOMs with "usage = 1" and "status = 3" have history requirement.
The parameters of OS27 transaction are OK too.
The problem is that the warning message 045 is displayed when we execute CS02 for every kind of BOM usage and status.
We must substitute the warning message by an error message. To do that, we must disable the field NOHIS in C_STUE_NOH object, in the user profile. But, when we do that, the error message is displayed to all kind of BOMs status, blocking the process (following the warning message, which is displayed to all kind of BOM status)
This is an issue of SAP_APPL 470 system.
We tested the similar procedure in an SAP_APPL 603 system, and the results were OK, in other words, the warning message is only displayed for the BOM usage and BOM status defined in OS25 transaction.
    Thank's in advance

When the BOM with usage 1 and status 3, by example, is changed with a modification number (following OS25 parameters), the field STZU-HISTK is activated.
Then, if the status of the BOM is changed to 2, the modification number is required, because the STZU-HISTK is activated.
In OS25 transaction only the BOm usage = 1 and BOM status = 3 has the history requirement flag, but after the modification with the mod. number, all the status of the BOM now has the modification number requirement.
How can I allow the modification of the BOM without modification number (other status not flagged in OS25), if this BOM hal already been changed with an modification number (by the status flagged in OS25)?
    Thank's in advance

  • Function module required for BOM Changes

    Dear SAP Guru
I need the function module which gives me the details of changes done in the BOM.
Scenario: Need to develop the report which gives only the details of BOM changed on the given date. The BOM level might vary.
    Regards
    Rahul

    Dear
I think you should have ECM in place to have tracability for any changes carried out in BOM .
Refer earlier posting : Re: ECM ECR
If the ECM is in place , then you can see what changes has been done in CC02/03 Environmnet - > Reporting -> Bill of Material.
Otherwise please try the following Functinal Module : You can also try CEWB and CS80
    1. CSAP_BOM_ITEM_MAINTAIN
    2.CS_BOM_EXPL_MAT_V2
    3.CHANGEDOCUMENT_READ  and CDHDR
