Planning on 10 keyfigures

Hi ,
I have unique requirement as it always turns out to be -:)
This is more of a functional question rather than a techie Q.
My user wants to do a planning on per customer basis periodwise for Discounts to be given to each user.
Now there are about 10 different types of Discounts that the customer can avail & the user wants plan separately each of them. This will enable him to see the agggregate figures for each Discount type.
now my concern seems to be whether the performance of the system or the complexity would increase if we consider planning on 10 keyfigures simultaneously. (I am not so sure on this performance aspect.)
Can i go about having this 10 KF for planning ?
or could there be any alternative possible ? i am not able to think any till now, as the user is keen on planning in all the 10 discounts types.
or how would be the approach if put this Discounts types into char ? (cant imagine)

Ramesh,
I have had similar requirement before on sales application and we chose characteristic approach because in a period a customer would have maximum of 3 to 4 discount types based on eligibility criteria.
But if you think a customer may be eligible for all discount types then i would suggest going with key figure approach.By doing this way you can limit the number of records.
Downside to this is tracking all these key figures when you write any required function.

Could you help me on below process please.
Iam working with BI7.0. I have real time cube (daily sales) and user need to access and update/add records accordingly.
So for this real time cube I have to create planning layout with the data. User can see that data and update/add.
I dont how to create planning layout (i heared that rsplan) how to show the data.
Also I need some help on ABAP, I need to map some fields from a table.
Actually from a flat file iam uploading data into ODS. In ODS has 3 more extra infoObjects.
Ex: Shopping mall code, tenent number and outlet number info i have to pick contract number from table with routine and pass that contact number into ODS one field. It means Contact number will not come from flat file, thats what need table and routine.
So for that I have to create one table (SE11) with all the information. and i have write routine.
I have to read flat file 2 fields( like A and B) and check the value in a table and get the value C and put into ODS one field. I have to do this with routines.
In the table have A, B and C values. Table also I have to create. so also please can u tell me some steps.
Could you please help on this. Also with process chains for this.

If you go to RSPLAN there you can go to Portal link (it must be configured properly in system)
In portal there will be wizard where you can easily go step by step and create planning functions and sequences like below:
       1.      You choose the appropriate InfoProvider.
       2.      You create one or more aggregation levels.
       3.      You create one or more filters.
       4.      You create one or more planning functions.
       5.      You create a planning sequence.
       6.      You test the planning model.
which is clearly explained in below link

after doing this you can create a query on aggregates you have created above and then make query input ready i.e planning enabled for keyfigures you want like mentioned in below link:

then you can run query in Analyzer and save it as a work book after proper drilldown which can be used as template.

how can i write a code to get the sum of value of days(example 1 to 30).
This is in BPS ...
i created multi planning area and creted planning function with {keyfigure name,planning area,days}.
now i want to read all the actual values from basic planing area(basic cube) and calculate the sum of the value.if you have idea can you share the code.
ENTRIES = VARC ( 'zvardays' ).     ex(zvardays like 28 days or 29 days or 30 days or 31 days)
COUNT = ENTRIES.
*Get the all the days value from actual
FOREACH PAREA = 'basic planning area'.
COUNT = 1.
DO
     SUM = SUM + {amount, count}      (amount is a keyfirgure value)
ENDDO.
COUNT = COUNT+1.
   SUMACT = SUM.
ENDFOR.
can you correct the above code ....to read the values and sum of the those value.

Manual update of Forecast/Demand and Stock data in SNC5.1

Can we update the Stock in Hand at customer's place when we receive these values every monday by email?
So after getting these figures on every monday we want to update it in SNC5.1 manually.
Is it possible? If yes then how? What is the impact?

Product:<product>
Partner for third key:<Business partner Org of DC(ship from location)>
From Date,to date and quantity
and click on set.

Input ready query - not ready for input

I have created the following in IP:
1. A multiprovider based on an actuals cube (Standard infocube) and a plan cube (realtime - data can be planned not loaded).
2. An Aggregation level on the multiprovider - containing infoobjects: 0version, employee, WBS element, infoprovider, fiscal year, fiscal year variant, 0currency and 0amount.
3. A filter on the following infoobjects: employee (=123456), wbs element(XX.XX.XXX.X), version (variable - mandatory; ready for input), fiscal year(2008) and fiscal year variant(XX).
4. A planning function to copy from version 0 (actual) to version 866 (random Value - Master data exists).
I have created a query on the multiprovider and set the query properties correctly. I have also created two restricted key figures as follows:
1. Actual (Restricted by infoprovider = actual; version = 0; fy = 2007; fyvar = XX)
2. Plan (Restricted by infoprovider = plan ; version = input-ready variable; fy = 2008; fyvar = XX)
I have used all the infoobjects in the agg. level in the query. I am using the same version number (866) on the query selection screen as defined in the filter.
When I run the query, I can see only the actuals line. The plan keyfigure is not ready for input (although keyfigure properties are set to "Data can be changed using user entries or planning functions).
What am I doing wrong which is preventing the plan keyfigure from opening up for planning?
I have also tried to create an agg. level on the plan infocube with similar settings as above. When I run the query, I get a no data found result - which I think is right because there is no data in the planning cube.
PS: When I use the wizard in the planning modeler the keyfigure (0amount) can be changed.

Hi Avya,
Use a filter on the 0currency, for a particular currency type. (if problem is: currency type keyfigures are not input ready)
This will mak it input ready.

BPS Layout and Varibales on Data slices

Hi Frineds,
I have some doubts in BPS. Please clarrify me with the exact answers.
1) What is the optimum time for excuteing Manual planning layout?
2) Can we create Varaibles on Data slice in both BW BPS 3.5 version and SEM BPS? In which versiona we can create varaibles on data slices? I nwhich version it is not possible to create varaibles on Data slices?
3) One basic question: Does planning package contain keyfigures or it contains only Charactgerstics?
4) what is meaning of Selection Varibles in BPS? I read one document like we can create Selection Variables in Accound based modeling but it is not possible to create Selection Varaibles in Key figure based modeling/
I gone thorouth the help documentaion and other documents but i didn't get clear idea on above issues.
Please provide me ur suggestions and valuable answers for above questions.

Hi for All, Pleeeeeeease help me, Update Air application problem

Hi guys,
I have big adobe-air ajax based application installed in my computer ,I have updated some files in my application, and generate the new(updated) version of the air file and put it in the server .My application size is 300 MB. The problem is that the update framework will download and reinstall all the files of air application(300 MB !!!) ,
Is there any way to reinstall only the updated files of my application without need to reinstall all the files during the update process ????

The Data is missing in Segment E1EDKA1

Hi,
We are using the message type ORDRSP & standared Process code SD10.When we created the sales order in SAP system the all segments are avilable for E1EDKA1.
The Data which passed to outbound IDOC onlt few segmnets of E1EDKA1 is avilable.e.g if we have totale 8 in sales order then in outbound idoc only 4 are avilable which is sap standared.our custom partner fuctions are not visible.
Please suggets what I am missing.

Let me little bit clear abt this issue. Actually we r using a multiprovider for the reports in which there r 2 infocubes. One is actual n another is planned. the column keyfigures which were selected in the query were been written with some code in the transformation rule and at the same time these column keyfigures are using the object ficsper3 (linked to fiscper3). can yu plz go through this code and let me know.

          Yfiscper3 type /BI0/OIFISCPER3.

MPOS Creation

Hi colleagues
We plan to use DP and GATP in APO for FMCG industry.
For which i have a following Questions:
Level for Forecasting:
Product, Product Group, Plant, Province are required.Forecasting is done in monthly level.
Expected combinations = approximetly 9000 to 11000 CVC's
For Forecasting we plan to use keyfigure fixing at Product and Plant Level.We need to maintain aggregate at Product and Plant.
For GATP Check and Allocation Check:
Product, Product Group, Plant, Province,9AKNOB and Customer are required.Allocations are done in weekly Level.
Expected Combinations = 69000 CVC's
In our process, Statistical forecast is also one of the input to decide allocation.
For allocations we plan to do fixing at aggregate level at Product and Province Level.We need to maintain aggregate at Product and Province.
For designing MPOS:
Option 1: Separate MPOS for Forecasting and Allocation
Pros: 1) Performance increases for forecasting bcoz less number of CVC's since no customers in forecasting.
2) Only single Aggregate maintenance to the forecasting MPOS and Allocation MPOS
Cons: 1) CVC duplication with 2 MPOS
2) Data realignment need to handled twice.
Option 2: Single MPOS for forecasting and Allocation
What is your recommendations on my requirement.

I too think that seperate MPOS may be a better choice.
Just couple of points.....

For this point, how do you plan to have forecast updated for the CVCs for MPOS- GATP ?
Generating in this GATP MPOS itself or copying from the other MPOS ?
Please also note that 69K total CVCs is not a huge number to me, we have operated in volumes of CVCs which were 10-15 times more.
To have many additional background jobs/ process chains means addtional dependencies, monitoring , scope for confusions , more BW info objects ( say back up cube, extraction cube, hsitory cubes).

For production planning: The characteristics are Product, Division, Plant , Product Manager, Fiscyr, Fisper, Version, Value type & KF's Planned Qty, Average TCD, Noofdays etc.

Macro to restrict the users to adjust keyfigure in planning book

HI,
My Planning book is using by all the managers, where i need to restrict a keyfigure to enter manually for few users.
Only for 3 users the keyfigure has to open, when they are in planning book, and all other users should not have any access to enter manually any voulmes in the planning book.
i tried framing a macro, but not successfull.
Is it really Macro required to make this? or any other way that we can make this?
if it is a macro can u brief,me how to proceed for the macro.

There are APO alerts that use APO transaction /SAPAPO/AMON1 - Alert Monitor.
Can this alert monitor be configured to show up in the universal worklist (UWL) in the portal?
if so would these alerts show up in the alert inbox of the uwl just as other sap ECC alerts do?
(the other alerts i speak of are those referenced here (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/3f/81023cfa699508e10000000a11402f/frameset.htm).
Or are these alerts two totally different types of SAP functionality with the same name (ALERT) ?

you can create macros dorectly in production if u need it urgently. but if you transport a book from dev later it will overwrite what you have made

TSCOPY:keyfigure copy one planning book to other book

When i copying the keyfigure values from one planning book to othe Planning book through /SAPAPO/TSCOPY, the keyfigure is copying all the other keyfogure values also in the other planning book., I need to copy only one keyfigure row values to other planning book keyfigure row. Not all key figure values.

I think you had placed a check mark in the box of Propose Key Figures While executing the TSCOPY transaction due to which it is triggering copy of all Keyfigures.
Plz do not place this checkmark and manually chose the Key figure which you want to copy in source and target tabs.

No Drill Down for a keyfigure in the Planning Book

We have 5 key figures in planning book.One among five key figures is Supply information , the data will be in the level of Material and Plant level.
We have 5 Characteristics such as product, Prod Grp, Plant, Region and Customer.
I want to restrict the Supply Information Key figure not to drill down when user drill downs at Customer and Region Level.
How to achieve the above functionality using Macro?

Sorry for being late reply.
As per your suggestion i created macro and it was working fine when i drill down but when i select keyfigure selection(magnifying glass) and filter some keyfigures in Interactive demand planning system is not showing blank screen without any keyfigures.
When i remove this macro from Level Change, then i can able to use Keyfigure selection.
What is this inconsistency?
My GUI is 720 and Patch 4.
any suggestion?

Exceptions for Keyfigures that can be planned (BI IP)

Hey,
when I define with Query designer for BW7.0 an exception for a keyfigure that can be planned, the exception doesn't work. It only works for keyfigures that cannot be planned.
Does anyone know a workaround?

Hi Martin,
The exceptions do not work when the KF on which they have been created shows blank (not 0, only blank) - this is same even if the KF is non-plannable. Since initially the planning KF will generally show blank, so this problem comes. If there is data for the planning KF, the exception should work. You can check this.
One way in which I worked around this problem was to insert an extra column having some fixed value (say 10) as the last column of the query, create exception on this column and then I used the property of the analysis item in WAD to not display this column. Please note that if you hide this column using the property in query designer, exception would not work again.
