Planning Product

Hello,
Could anybody please  explain me when and how the "planning with planning product" option should be used in APO? Also, can somebody confirm me if strategy 40 is supported in SNP? My understanding is that planning with planning product- strategy 60- is only supported by DP.
thank you all!.

Hi,
APO SNP does not support  planning with standard strategy 40 ( Planning product) .
APO SNP only supports strategy 10( anonymous  make-to-stock prdocution ) and 20 ( Planning with final assembly).
APO demand plannig is used for generating  forecast statistically and then processing for arriving at a consensun demand plan.

  • Planned Production Order Calculation

I am interested in the calculation and examples of Firm/Planned Production Orders using different firm fences (e.g., 1 week versus 2 week), sales quantities (e.g., greater and less than Forecast), and actual production (greater or less than plan).  I am new to SAP and am looking for the calculation definitions including total demand, unconsumed demand (bwd and fwd), safety stock and available quantity.

  • Consumption with CDP by using planning product

    Hi all
I use product A, with planning product B mainteined in MRP3 and transfered to APO as hiearchy PLANNING PRODUCT. The consumption works in APO if I do not use descriptive characteristics (material, plant, customer).
If I use descriptive characteristics consumption do not work. I mean, problem is here:
Each consumption group has mandatory characteristics 9AMATNR and 9ALOCNO. The characteristics 9AMATNR for real product and planning product is not the same and teherefore the consumption do not work.
Do you have any experience or idea? Is it possible ti use CDP forecasting consumption with planning material scenario?
    Thanks
    Pavel

    Hi Stefanos,
What you are doing is absolutely right.. However, I want to ask a few question..
    1. Are the characterestic values included in the filter ? ie. If you want to change for Country: UK, is UK present in filter?
    2. Are there any other characteristics that you have not included in the function and are getting changed by chance ? Like you might need to include 0fiscyer in To Change if you are assigning 0Fiscper.
    3. Write a small FOX function with hardcoded values to check if the system is accepting the values or not..
It should work.. Please write back in case you need more help..

  • SNP Capacity plaaning scenario with planning products

    Hello APO Experts,
I have come across a capacity planning scenario in metal industry.
Suppose the machine is producing sheets of thickness ranging 2mm thickness to 8mm thickness. There are three groups as shown below P, Q, R,
These individual product orders are loaded on Resource: W100
Groups                                                          Limited Capacity In Tons          Individual products   Planning product
    Group P: Less than 2 mm                                      75                          a1, a2, a3, a4, a5                       P
    Group Q: From 2mm to 4 mm                               100                           b1, b2, b3, b4, b5                     Q
    Group R: From 4mm to 8mm                                 325                         c1, c2, c3, c4, c5                        R
The total sheets produced in one day 500.tons  All the groups should be producced on daily basis in the sequence of P,Q,R. Limiting the capacity given above. In SNP planning , I would to limit the capacity based on the basis of planning products.
The planned orders will be coming for Individual products that are a1, a2, a3, a4.
In SNP planning run, the quantity of Individual orders should be sum up at the group level.
For Group P : a1, a2, a3 u2026. Sum up and the quantity should be checked for Capacity of 75 tons order quantity.
For Group Q : b1, b2, b3u2026. Sum up and the quantity should be checked for capacity of 100 tons order quantity.
Like wise for Group R : c1, c2, c3u2026. Sum up and the quantity should be checked for capacity of 300 tons order quantity.
I want to use the planning product concept to model this scenario. P will be the planning product for a1,a2,a3....
Q will be the planning product for b1,b2,b3....
Following master data created : Material master , BOM , routing for individual products. Material master for planning product. Planning product updated in the material master of individual products in MRP view.
Please let me know , your suggestions for use of planning product scenario with capacity check on product group level.
    Waiting for your reply.
    Regards,

    Ravindra,
So, you are saying you are unconcerned about consumption of independent demand, and unconcerned about performing ATP against a forecast, which are the main feature of a planning product?  You are only interested in how your supply elements and capacity consumption is aggregated/disaggregated?  If this is the case, I don't understand why you would wish to use Planning materials.  Based on what little you have told us of your requirements, I would think that Product Hierarchies would be more suitable......

  • Unable to create Planning product Hierarchy

    Hello,
I am having a planning material in ECC assigning this material to another finished product.
Defined the planning strategy 60 in the material master of the finished product and assigning the the planning product there.
When I am transferring in CIF , selecting the Planning material check box as well as regular finished product.
My expectation is a planning product hierarchy has to be created in APO but this is not getting created.
I am not sure whether any additional settings to be defined or not.
    Can somebody help me out.
    Regards,
    nandha

    Hello,
In CFM1 select the Planning material check box without any finished product.
Planning materials should be X0 in material master and same you should use in selection.
Do the CFM2 followed by RIMODINI
System will transfer the Planning materials and FG connection as per the entries in PGMI table.
Also refer OSS note 1025982 - Product hierarchy transfer is not working properly

  • Use of planned production standards

    Hi All
I can use 'Scheduling Standards Maintenance' activity to define planned production standards for shop floor processes.
But I do not understand the method of comparing the plan with results well.
Do the report etc. for the comparison exist?
    Thanks for any hints
    Regards

    Hi all,
If I understand your questions correctly, then you are right - there is no separate report which compares scheduled standards with actual numbers. I believe that Scheduling Standards Maintenance is used just to keep that kind of information for reference. The actual numbers to measure the productivity and performance are provided by Yield reports, Cycle Time reports and Resource Utilization reports.
BTW a while ago there was a customization requested by a customer where those values from the Maintenance were used for calculation of operators' salary in particular.

  • ASCP should plan production of all lines of a Sales Order in the same IO

    Requirement details:
    1) We are running an ECC plan in OPM environment (Constrained Classic)
    2) There are 20+ manufacturing plants – all are equally capable of manufacturing any item
    3) Sourcing rules define the sequence in which plants should be loaded (first plant X, go to plant Y when capacity in plant X is full. Go to plant Z when capacity in plant Y is full… and so on.)
    4) Sales Orders are entered in a fashion where 1 SO = 1 container.
    5) There are 5-20 lines per sales order (for items A, B, C, D etc). Together, these items constitute a full container load (FCL)
    6) The composition of this FCL will vary from one Sales Order to another (e.g., customer 1 takes items A,B,C; customer 2 takes A,B,D; customer 3 takes A,B,C,D)
    7) To avoid transfers between plants, all lines of one SO should be assigned to same plant for production – even if that means delaying the shipment. The container will be loaded in that plant itself – instead of transferring it to a distribution center.
As per our understanding, ASCP does not support such a requirement. We attempted the following:
    1) Defined following profiles:
MSC: Maximum number of planned orders per demand = 1
MSO: Maximum Demands per Group = 1
MSO: Maximum Demands per Slice = 1
    2) Defined Demand Priority Rules:
    Schedule Date – 1
Sales Orders, Forecasts & MDS Entries Priority – 2
    3) If there are 10 SOs with the same Scheduled Ship Date, they were given Planning Priority as 1, 2, 3 … 10
    4) All lines of a sales order were assigned the same ship set.
With all the above settings, we could not achieve our goal. Any suggestions from the ASCP Gurus?

    Hi Navneet,
Thank you for your reply. To answer your queries:
    (1) We have a dummy inventory org mentioned as ship-from org in all SOs (calling it 'dummy' - as physically there is no such IO). This is done because the marketing team does not know from which IO material will be shipped (we do not have GOP in scope).
    (2) Sourcing rules mention that a demand in the dummy IO can be met by orgs X, Y, Z etc (each one with 100% allocation, ranks 1, 2, 3 etc). There are no sourcing rules for transfers between X, Y and Z.
    (3) The intent is to fulfill a SO from single org with none of the items internally sourced from other orgs.

  • Direct link between planned/production order & Stock transport order

    Hello,
    We have the following situation.
    Plant A = ordering/receiving plant
    Plant B = producing/selling plant
Material is stock material in plant A (reorder point planning). If required, plant A creates intercompany purchase order with plant B as vendor.
Standard SAP behaviour: MRP run will create planned order in plant B but there is no direct link between the intercompany purchase order and the planned order. It can as well be that this planned order combines several requirements.
Our requirement: Have a 1 to 1 relationship (and a direct link) between the intercompany purchase order and the planned order (and also with the production order which will be generated afterwards). The solution we think about: After creation of the purchase order, create firmed planned order (or immediately production order) by means of a bapi.
My question is whether there are standard SAP solutions for this?
    Best regards
    Kurt

When customer give order and then it creates sales order.
depends on material - I mean Finshed good or Comapny own product ,
If it is outside material ,it creates Purchase req and then Purchase order.
if it is company material ,it creates Planned order and then production order.
Check the transaction you will get better idea.

  • List of planned production orders with necessary information

    Dear experts,
I work at a company that repairs spare parts. The SAP process for internal repairs is the following. Our planner creates a planned order, followingly the production chef creates a production order (ZM04 order). For the ZM04 order, planned and actual costs are known based on components used and actual hours worked on the repair.
I want to know as much as possible for all production orders over the past few years. How do I get this list from SAP?
If possible, describe in a detailed way how to provide this list, I am not super familiar in SAP.
    Thanks in advance!
    Thomas Coebergh

    Dear Rajen,
I think I needed the maintenance order list then. I do have the correct data I need now! Thanks for the heads up. Again, I am not yet super familiar with SAP yet, I am an intern.
    Thanks again.
