Playing album downloaded from limeware in itunes

Have downloaded via Limeware( a file sharing facility) a complete album but cannot play it in itunes. track plays but there is no sound. ! appears next to details of the download. Haven't had any problems up to now. Anyone any ideas?

As far as I know, Limewire is just a P2P network so you are relying on the quality of the file from the source's desktop.
Assuming that all your other iTunes tracks play OK, the chances are that you've got some dud tracks.
One thing that might be worth trying - just in case - is to select one of the tracks and apple-I to get its information. Check in one of the tabs that the volume is not at the lowest. I know it's a long-shot but it's worth a try.
Assuming the files are MP3s, you might try playing them in some other app. May be QuickTime or something freeware from versiontracker.com or similar. That way at least you will isolate whether iTunes is having the problem or it is the files themselves.
Hope this helps in some small way.

This is not a law forum but technically I think your daughter is supposed to own her own copy, not a second copy of the track you bought.  In that regard it would be best to use Apple's gifting service to give her the track.

I checked with SanDisk's own online support and they indicate that they have notified Apple of the issue.
According to SanDisk, the problem lies with Apple not having the iOS 8 version of the Safari browser having DRM decoding enabled that the Media Drive relies upon to decode and play iTunes DRM titles. Non DRM encoded videos will play in the browser.
DRM audio is not effected as this is handled by the native iOS music app.
As of the date of this post SanDisk have not been given a timeframe by Apple for this issue to be resolved.
I hope that Apple resolves this issue quickly as I have a large collection of DRM video titles on a 128Mb memory card installed in the Media Drive that I am unable to view.

First of all make sure that you have the volume turned up with the control on the right side of the iPad. You play music in the Music App - not in iTunes. If you have the volume turned up and you are using the Music App - restart or rest the iPad and see if that helps.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • How can I download from other countries iTunes Stores?

I want to download from other countries iTunes stores but I have of course not a credit card for each of these countries and I can use my e-mail address only once (logically )to register. Any chance that I can download from i.E. the French store when I live in the UK?
Thanks for helping me if possible

Unless you can show some form of residency you cannot buy from another country's store. The question on cross store purchasing is asked frequently so I'll just quote the most complete answer (courtesy of Dave Sawyer) from the many given:
In order to buy from any given country's iTunes Music Store, you must have either:
    a) a credit card with a billing address in that country, or
    b) a mailing address in that country and a gift certificate or a prepaid card that was bought in that country.
If you cannot fulfill one of these two sets of conditions, you will not be able to purchase from any given country's iTMS.
.......this is due to restrictions placed on Apple by the record companies and other rights holders (who are often completely different from country to country and so all require their own individual negotiations and contracts), not by Apple's choice. And this also applies to all the legal download stores that carry major-label content, not just the iTMS.

iTunes Store: Error (-50) when downloading purchased videos
Last Modified on: April 24, 2007
    Article: 303887
    Symptom
The following alerts may appear when trying to download purchased videos from the iTunes Store:
"There was an error downloading your purchased music. An unknown error occurred (-50)."
This can happen when the connection timeout occurs while downloading purchased video content from the iTunes Store.
    Products affected
    iTunes Store
    iTunes for Windows
    iTunes for Mac OS X
    Purchased video content
    Solution
Deleting the cached video files of the download, and starting the download again from the beginning, often will resolve this issue.
To find the cached video downloads:
Navigate to the downloads folder on your system. This folder can be found in the following locations:
    Mac:
    ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Downloads
Note: The tilde (~) refers to your Home directory.
    Windows Vista:
    \Users\username\Music\iTunes\iTunes Music\Downloads\
    Windows XP and 2000:
    \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music\Downloads\
Locate the folder that contains the cached video file for this purchase.
In Windows Vista, the folder will be named for the purchased video, and the name will end with .tmp.
    Example: The Dundies.tmp
In Windows XP and Windows 2000, the folder will be named for the purchased video, and the name will end with .m4v.tmp.
    Example: The Dundies.m4v.tmp
Move the .tmp folder for the affected purchased video to the Trash or Recycle Bin.
    Open iTunes.
From the Store menu, choose Check for Purchases.
Enter your account name and password and click the Check button.

  • How do I get my IPod touch and Ipad to play songs/albums downloaded from my Icloud correctly??

I used ITunes match just fine.  But, tracks/entire albums play incorrectly - song plays about 1 minute, then skips to next song which plays for about 1 minute, etc.  This is true for both IPod Touch and IPad (1).  The same files downloaded from ICloud play fine on the computer and they also play fine on AppleTV.  I have deleted and redownloaded these files numerous times, which makes no difference.  Purchased music and some ripped from CD's play correctly on Touch and Ipad.  This also seems to be connected CDs that were ripped and reencoded at a higher version before uploading.  The files in question are now Matched AAC audio files.

You would need to restore the backup of your iPad Mini to your iPod Touch, and the apps would need to be compatible with both devices.
Restoring the backup to your iPod Touch will overwrite the data and settings with those contained in the backup so if you have anything on your iPod that you want to save, you would need to do that first.

  • Issue playing movies downloaded from iTunes on TV when linked to computer via HDMI cable.

Recently I purchased the advance digital copy of "Star Trek Into Darkness" as it was it was released just in time for  moving some people into another state; we planned to watch it when we rested for the day.  After hooking my windows 7 laptop up to a Samsung flatscreen TV using an HDMI cable, iTunes refused to play the movie.  It would play when the computer was disconnected from the TV, and the same error would appear when reconnected.  The error stated that I had to be connected to an "HDCP compatible device."
Is this some way of iTunes forbidding me from watching movies downloaded from their service when connected to an exterior device?  My computer has no issues playing other content, such as netflix, when connected to a TV.
For me it's pointless to buy movies now from iTunes; I feel like I've wasted $20.  Why on earth would I want to sit in front of a computer to watch it when there's a TV five times the size available?

    Hello happylilvampyr,
Unfortunately, this is due to a lack of HDCP support provided by the TV in use. More information regarding HDCP can be found in the following article.
iTunes for Windows: Unable to view or play HD video content that requires HDCP
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3354
As an alternative, you can always download the movie in standard definition, which will allow for viewing on non-HDCP devices.
When you purchase an HD video on a supported device or computer, only HD video will be downloaded. To download the SD version, you need to download the video again from your Purchased page. Conversely, if you purchase an HD video on an unsupported device, the SD version will be downloaded. Then, you will need to download the HD version from your Purchased page. • 10.8.5 ITUNES WILL NOT PLAY MOVIES DOWNLOADED FROM ITUNES

Downloaded the new iTunes last night and it seems to work well with music but it will not play movies I've downloaded from the iTunes store. The sore works, Radio works, I can buy from the store but movies I have from iTunes (Star Trek, The Incredibles, ST: Into Darkeness among others) strat then crash. I get a message about an error with a plug in (FX I think) that has failed or is not found.
Anybody else seeing this? Any solutions?
    Thanks in advance.

Okay, I think I found my problem. I have SRS iWOw installed and the FX plugin is part of that. If I disable iWow all movies play as they are supposed to.
Looks like I need to contact SRS for an update/upgrade or dump it and find another sound enhancer app.
    Thanks fo looking.
