  • Installing Microsoft Office on Windows Server 2008 R2

Can I install Microsoft Office on Windows Server 2008 R2?
I'm not trying to use this installation from client machines, I just want to use this installation from the same machine.
It's a Home LAN, I need to develop some applications, but basically, the server should be used as any other machine by any member of the family.
Each machine will have it's own suite of Office Applications. It's just 3 machines
Believe you can do it, and you will!!

Yes, I've done that successfully, but I use the Volume Licensing edition (Professional Plus).
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee624351(v=office.14).aspx
If you have a Retail edition, it might not be as successful...

  • Trouble installing microsoft office 2013

When i try to install Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013 32 bit i get the message "Please Wait, were sorry. It looks like another installation is running. Please wait until it's finished and try installing Office again" although i
do not have any other installations running. And once i press close to that Microsoft Bootstrapper "stops working" I have windows 7. Please help, thankyou!

    Hi,
First, try to reboot your computer to check the issue, if the issue still occurs, then try the following methods.
Note: Modifying REGISTRY settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the configuring of REGISTRY settings can be solved. Modifications
of these settings are at your own risk.
I need you to check in the registry for a certain subkey that might be there. The subkey we are looking for is called “InProgress”
From your desktop click the Start
    button
In the search field type “regedit” (do not hit enter, “regedit.exe” will appear in the start menu)
Right-click “regedit.exe” and select “Run as administrator”
(If you receive the User Account Control message, select continue or allow to proceed)
You should now be the Registry Editor.
Now we are going to browse to the following subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\InProgress
    Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    Expand SOFTWARE
    Expand Microsoft
    Expand Windows
    Expand CurrentVersion
    Expand Installer
Under the “Installer” key do you see the subkey “Inprogress”, if so, right-click the “Inprogress” subkey and select delete.
After you delete the “Inprogress” subkey, close the Registry Editor and any other window that you may have open and restart your computer.

  • Trouble Installing Microsoft Office 2008 10.8

Getting a headache trying to find a clear answer on this -- if I can't install Office Entourage PowerPoint Excel on 10.8.3 in 2013, is it possible?
I just did an Erase and clean fresh install of Mountain Lion 10.8.3 (late 2011 MacBook Pro).
I have Microsoft Office Mac 2008 Upgrade (not worried about the Upgrade issue), however
    My installer is version 12.0
To get to current 12.3.6 — I will need to run three updates manually (the Auto Update feature didn't work the  last time I installed under 10.7 so I expect to do the same under 10.8):
    12.1
    12.2
    12.3
I read there may be a problem running the three service pack updates manually because they may not work in the Apple Store Auto Update Software Update routines....
Has anyone done this or know of a clear source to confirm what to expect, how to install and update Office 2008?
    PLEASE ADVISE

Figured out how to install Microsoft Office 2008 Upgrade 12.0 onto a fresh start-from-scratch clean 10.8x Mountain Lion install -- it is possible with no problems and here are instructions how to do it:
    Manually download the following updaters:
    Service Pack 1, 12.1.0: Office2008-1210UpdateEN.dmg
    Service Pack 2, 12.2.0: Office2008-1220UpdateEN.dmg
Service Pack 3, 12.3.6 (or latest)
Run the Office 2008 installer from the install disk.
When the Upgrade prompts you for an eligible version, insert your full retail install disk, and point the updater to that disk's root folder — note my full retail Office 98 disk didn't work, but my Office 2004 full retail disk did the trick.
Run each Service Pack as needed.
After all are updates are manually ran, then run the Office software update.
I can confirm Office 2008 installed on Mountain Lion and appears to be working as expected on my Late 2011 MacBook Pro, 10.8.3.
Lanny& Barney-15E THANK YOU FOR THE CORRECT ANSWERS!

  • Firefox Not Responding after Installing Microsoft Office 10

After installing Microsoft Office 10 (student and home edition) on my laptop, I noticed that Firefox is going into the state 'Not Responding' every time I access it - it takes about 10 secs to 'think' and then comes back online. It continues to do this every time I want to access a new page, new link, click on mail in Yahoo Mail, etc. Has anyone experienced this issue?

    1) Check the $IAS_ORACLE_HOME/Apache/JServ/etc/logs/jvm
has servral logs for OACoreGroup Servlets that are initialied
    2) You might have to enable the debug option in jserv.properties and jserv.conf
(find IsItWorking.java in Metalink for the appropriate note )
    3) If this is 403 forbidden then check trusted.conf alongside httpd.conf
pls keep posted about how this issue got resolved.

i have finished installing Oracle applications
11.5.10.2 on IBM clusters (HACMP version 5.1)its a
multinode setup with mutual failover. other
applications are working fine. the installation went
well. but the final part on the middle tier , during
the post install checks it says JSP not responding. I
checked the apache error-log and saw the follwoing
    entry
    [Sun Apr 23 21:04:21 2006] [error] [client

that bafles me because that ip address was not used
in the installation. its the persistent ip address of
the HACMP. the service ip that was used in the
    configuration file was 172.29.200.75
however there is no mention of this in the error
log.i also edited the oprocmgr.conf in the
Apache/conf directory after which i dont get the
error however the servlets pages then hangs and
returns page cannot be displayed error on internet
explorer. no error is registered on the error log.
the jdk am using is 1.4.2 which is the recommended
    one.
what this means is that i cannot access the self

pages to access the application in 11.5.10.2
i opened a TAR with oracle on 8th April 2006 and till

  • Error 1704 - Can't install Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007

    Hi,
I am attempting to install Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 on my windows 8.
I ran the setup like normal and it went 100% but froze and nothing else happened.
I then looked into a few threads and saw that I should run it in compatibility mode. When I did this I got an error message, which stated, "Error 1704. An installation for Microsoft Office Office 64-bit components 2007 is currently suspended. You must
undo these changes made by that installation to continue. Do you want to undo those changes?"
Seems simple, but when I click yes, the error message immediately comes back up (which just continues no matter how many times I press yes. So I press no and it ends....
I don't know much about computers but I need to get my resume in to a job ASAP!

  • Installing Microsoft Office for Mac 2011

I have a Macbook Pro 5.3 Boot ROM Version MBP53.00AC.B03 with SMC Version 1.48f2. The computer will not read the software for installing Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 (Home and Student). An alert blocks installing of the Firmware 1.7 Update. Mac Support said the problem is the Microsoft software. Microsoft said the problem is the Macbook Pro. Does anyone know how to resolve the problem so the Office 2011 can be installed?

An alert blocks installing of the Firmware 1.7 Update
Firmware updates and Office 2011 are unrelated and have nothing to do with each other.
If the firmware won't install, then post your question in the OS X forums.

So, could you still open Office application even user get the error message?
If you deploy Office suite by deployment tool or system center and meet the sync timeout issue, try to copy the installaion source to the local drive and reinstall it again.

  • Trouble installing Microsoft Office 2003 on my mac

    Hello all,
I was just attempting to install Microsoft Office 2003 (Student and Teacher Edition) on my Mac and I haven't had much success thus far.
Basically I've put the install disc into my Mac, the disc icon pops up on my desktop, but I can't seem to get it to install. Should it be doing this automatically, or is there something else I need to do? I've tried dragging the disk icon to my applications folder, but not luck.
I feel like this is a relatively elementary issue, but I haven't been able to find any other help regarding this specific problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks for your time,
    Garrett

Office 2003 is for Windows only. 2004 and 2008 run on Mac OS.
If you are in fact using 2004 or 2008, then please post your question on Microsoft's own forums for their Mac products at http://www.officeformac.com/productforums

  • Installing Microsoft Office on 2 user accounts

    Hi
I have 2 user accounts on a Mac Mini (both administrator)
I have installed Microsoft Office 2011 with Outlook but it has only shown up on one of user accounts. There was no option to install on both accounts when I installed it.
Is there anyway to use MS Office 2011 on the 2nd account?
    Thanks in advance

Where was Office installed; in the Mac HD/Apps folder, where it is accessible to all user accounts, or in the Users/~/Apps folder where it is only accessible to the user in whose account it is installed?

  • Should I have installed Microsoft Office 2010 Filter Pack 64 bit with Ex 2013 SP1?

I have installed Exchange 2013 SP1 on a 2012R2 server, and all went well (I am at early stages of migration).
Following the pre-reqs listed here: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb691354%28v=exchg.150%29.aspx#WS2012
I installed Microsoft Unified Communications Managed API 4.0, Core Runtime 64-bit only.
Since then I have seen other articles suggesting that I install:
Microsoft Office 2010 Filter Pack 64 bit
Microsoft Office 2010 Filter Pack SP1 64 bit
Given I didn't notice any errors in the install, do I need to install those filter packs or is that outdated advice?
    regards
    Roga

Thanks for taking the time to post Ed
I did a bit more research and it appears that there is more than one view on this.
    E.G. this blog
Why Exchange 2013 doesn’t need the Microsoft Office Filter Pack says:
"Exchange 2013 swaps MSSearch for the Search Foundation, a component shared with SharePoint 2013. The Search Foundation has no need of the Office Filter Pack because it includes its own filters. Unfortunately, until SP1 came along,
the Exchange 2013 Setup program overlooked this fact and stated that the Office Filter Pack was a prerequisite. Setup would install if the Office Filter Pack was missing, but who’s going to ignore a warning issued by Setup. In any case, that warning seems
    to have finally been suppressed."
    This blog
Planning and migrating a small organization from Exchange 2007 to 2013 (Part 10) has:
"After choosing the relevant setting needed to begin installation, the Exchange 2013 setup program will now perform readiness checks. Assuming these complete successfully, we'll expect to see just one warning.
This warning relates to the lack of the Office 2010 Filter Packs, which are not required for installation, and are only required to create Transport Rules for OneNote or Publisher files"
    And this one
Exchange Server 2013 FAQ: Is the Office Filter Pack Required?
"The Exchange 2013 pre-requisites page on
TechNet, at the time of this writing, does include the Office Filter Packs as a step in the preparation of a server for Exchange 2013. What it doesn’t make clear is that they are not required.
The new Exchange Search already has support for indexing/searching Office file types, as well as a series of other file types including some third party formats such as PDF. You can see a full list
    here.
So should you install the Office Filter Pack? If you want to stop seeing that warning message, then yes. If you want to take the approach of only installing required software on your servers, then no. Consider also that installing it means potentially having
to update it later on if there is a bug fix or a security issue."
The final para above is the approach that I have now taken, but if someone can give me a good reason to install office 2010 filter packs on Ex 2013 sp1 I'll revise my view
    regards

Just to be clear, Office 2010 is for Windows.  Office 2011 is for Mac.  If you actually are trying to install Office 2010, you'll need to have installed Windows on your Mac either through Boot Camp or in a virtual machine.
