PLEASE HELP - Component Failure - Customer Relations e-mail

To whom it may concern:
I've been trying to reach someone from customer relations, but there is not an email in the web site and the call center is not very efficient. I'm in Caracas, Venezuela and I've been having problems with my 800 MHZ iBook. The computer experienced the following symptoms:
- Scrambled and distorted video
- Appearance of unexpected lines on the screen
- Intermittent video image
- Video freeze
- Computer starts up to blank screen
An authorized Service Provider determined that the component failure identified for the Expanded iBook Logic Board Repair Extension Program affected my computer.
In order to make the arrangements for the repair, the AASP needs the invoice of the purchase, which I don't have because I did it over the Internet and my father in law brought it to me from the US.
I have the web order number, the billing and shipping info, and the computers serial number. I'm hopping that Apple can send me a copy of the invoice so I can proceed with the Repair Extension Program, but it has been impossible to speak to any customer relations representative, or find an email address in the web site.
Please, please ,please, I need an email address of customer relations.
I would really appreciate any information you can give me.
Thank you in advance.

Veronica
Call 1-800-MY-APPLE, select the appropriate option, give the customer service representative your web order number, phone number or e-mail address, and they can pull the invoice up and e-mail you a copy. I'm a newbie too, so go easy on me.

  • Please help, After mac 10.5.8 mail server migrated to snow leopard server?

    Hi,
    All my old emails date has changed to the date on which i migrated to snow leopard server, all the old emails show as they arrived on 31st of Dec 2009.
    How do I fix it. Very Very important to me to have the arrived date.
    Please help
    Thanks,
    Gulab Pasha

    here is a link of other users having wrong date problems after upgrading to 10.6
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2134525
    Some people have managed to fix their date problems. The easiest workaround is to add the column "Date Sent" under (View->Columns->Date Sent) in mail.app and to sort by the send date not the received date.
    Hope this helps

  • Sky Hub keeps disconnecting... please help? New customer...

    Hello there, I am a new customer to Sky only joining last month, and  my broadband hub keeps disconnecting. I use wifi which is normally good, but the last week or so, every day our hub shows an Orange face, which I know sometimes means it's updating, so I leave it for one hour or more,  and it still does  not show white and we cannot connect to wifi. We have to restart the modem everytime for it to work, and have to keep doing this every day now... please help? As i dont think we should have to keep restarting our hub everyday for it to work. Many thanks,Hayley

    That might well be one of the most ridiculous posts I've seen on here.
    If you want help then provide us with more information including your router statistics,the exact issue/issues your having along with what Sky have so far done to try to rectify them.

  • MBP 17" A1189 battery fail – please help access Apple Customer Support?

    Seven Steps to a “Help Me, Please?” Plea for Assistance
    [1] 2009 – Apple creates global, free-of-change, battery replacement program: ‘MacBook and MacBook Pro Battery Update 1.2’ Exchange and Repair Extension Program – for their design-flawed Apple A1189 battery’s dead-&-bloated failure mode. [kudos, respect due]
         A typical design-flawed Apple A1189 battery in dead-&-bloated failure mode – swollen cells crack open the battery’s casing
    [2] 2011 – My A1189 battery fails, dead-&-bloated: Apple replace it free-of-change, as per [1], and my MacBook Pro is up-&-running again in no time. [perfect Apple Customer Service, as usual]
    [3] 2014 – My A1189 battery fails, dead-&-bloated (and takes down power adapter too): Apple now wants ME to pay THEM for the replacement parts needed to repair the damage caused by THEIR design-flawed A1189 battery failure to MY Macbook Pro!
    Erm... surely some mistake? I think NOT: intolerable Apple[don’t]Care injustice is intolerable – “So, we bust your computer, eh? Fuggedabahdid! You give us money, we fix your computer, capiche?”

    Hi Melophage,
    Happy, Happy Day! With only the opposite of help from Apple Inc., and in reality thanks to the assistance and encouragement of my BFF IRL and your good self, my grand old MacBook Pro Kallisti has risen from Hades once again, and sprung back to life – and this reply is coming at you from her very own keyboard and net connection.
    My non-Apple replacement battery and a second-hand power adapter from TheBookYard.com in Liverpool arrived on Tuesday, and with the swapping in of an unblown 3A fuse, all is as well again as it was before Apple’s design-flawed A1189 battery killed Kallisti for the second time.
    What I’ve neglected to mention so far is that in early 2014, the screen began to fail intermittently, then with increasing frequency, until only via a DVI-HTML cable to my 50-inch TV could I see what I was doing at all. Yesterday the screen was working again initially, but only for a couple of hours, before failing to black again.
    Seems this is yet another well-known and well-documented fault with all the MacBook Pros that use the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics processor – see, eg: Apple’s (also prematurely terminated) ‘MacBook Pro: Distorted video or no video issues’ » http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2377 . I’ve a shed load of reading up to do on this issue from all over the web, including what appear to be some possible DIY fixes. I’ll most likely not waste any more time or energy on expecting Apple to take any responsibility for yet another well-known and well-documented fault with their MacBook Pro, since I find their naked contempt policy for Mac owners who fail to buy a shiny new Mac when the old one breaks down to be utterly revolting (not to mention environmentally unethical and unnecessarily destructive).
    Re: you yourself being of the Yanqui petite bourgeois persuasion – on the two occasions I’ve been fortunate enough to visit the USA, I’ve been genuinely impressed by the admirable attributes of the Americans I’ve met and stayed with: heartwarmingly generous with their time and attention, welcoming with an effusive hospitality, helpful, friendly, and compassionate. Yet there’s a world of difference between the esteem in which I can hold individual Americans, and the contempt in which I can hold the ruling class social institutions of any country, including especially the USA and my own, the UK: greed-centric corporations, brutally repressive police forces, mass-killing-focussed foreign policy initiatives, etc., &c. Rest assured, from what little I know of you, you’re certainly in my highly esteemed American individuals category.
    I don’t know how useful my advice was, since it wasn’t sufficient to convince the store manager at the Regent Street Apple store to provide you with a replacement battery.
    I’m pretty sure nothing short of physical torture (which is obviously and repellently obnoxious) would convince that heartless, hard-nosed SoB to break with Apple’s iron cast built-in obsolescence policy – listen up and listen good: your Mac’s so old it’s ‘vintage’, so screw you, buddy – if you ain’t gonna buy a new Mac, or buy from us the parts needed to repair the damage we did to your old Mac with our known-to-be-faulty components, you can can just get the **** out of our shiny, shiny Apple Store, coz respecting your fancy-schmantzy ‘UK statutory consumer rights’ is only gonna put a dent in our bottom line, and getting to be filthy rich off of the likes of youse is what Apple’s really all about these days, capiche? I have GOT TO End This Conversation NOW!
    There’s plenty of free web-based help and advice on reporting dodgy traders like Apple to the Trading Standards authority, and pursuing reparations from such lawbreakers through the small claims track in the civil courts. So now I’ve Kallisti back up-&-running again (albeit with a dead screen), on which to document my anti-Apple legal research, I’m taking my time to ensure I’m following due process, and relishing the irony of developing a suitable regulatory/legal punishment for Apple on the very ‘vintage’ flagship MacBook Pro which their offending policy has all but written off as obsolete. Plus, since it turns out its “Super”drive won’t eject a freshly burned DVD-R, I’ve ordered an Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 32-bit DVD to do a fresh unibooting install on my 2001-design backup PC notebook, to add some non-Apple computer robustness to my resources, until such time as I’ve saved up enough for to buy a purpose-built touch screen Ubuntu 14.04 LTS notebook, such as the System76 Darter UltraTouch (» https://system76.com/laptops/model/daru4 ); and that leaves plenty of time ahead to compare the long-term customer support reputations of potential Ubuntu PC manufacturer companies, to ensure that I don’t get taken for a fool by another Apple-like mobster-type corporation.
    Time to begin investigating coconutBattery, I think. Many thanks again, Melophage – with zero support from fellow Mac users, I’d most likely have given up and thrown in the towel some time ago, but you’ve helped me to find the self-motivation to persist in perusing a just solution, despite my beginning this process by being sunk in the depths of an episode of severe clinical depression. I must admit, I’d no idea that contending against Yanqui corporate fascism could be so therapeutic!

  • Please Help! Suddenly unable to open Mail, Address Book etc

    This morning when I woke up my IBook my Mail was still open from yesterday. When I tried to open ICal it kept crashing. So I restarted and then suddenly ITunes, Mail, Address Book and ICal would not open at all!! (However, it seems that iPhoto, Appleworks, Safari etc is fine).
    I do have a IPhone, but haven't synced in a week or so. Not sure that that would be relevant at all.
    The other weird thing that has happened, is that all the info on the top right hand corner of my menu bar (my airport, date, weather snitch, spotlight etc) disappeared a few weeks ago. It has been blank there ever since. When I just did a check of those applications ( internet connect, weather snitch) they also didn't open now.
    Thanks in advance for any advice at all...
    BTW, I just ran verify disk, and it stopped with this error message:
    " the underlying task reported failure on exit" - The volume needs to be repaired.
    Really hoping that someone can help me with this!

    Hi ALSVLA, and a warm welcome to the forums!
    Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Tiger Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
    *Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
    5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
    Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
    (Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
    The usual reason why updates fail or mess things up, is if Permissions are not fixed before & after every update, with a reboot... you may get a partial update when the installer finds it doesn't have Permissions to change one obscure little part of the OS, leaving you with a mix of OS versions.
    Some people get away without Repairing Permissions for years, some for only days.
    If Permissions are wrong before applying an update, you could get mixed OS versions, if Directory is the slightest messed up, who knows!

  • PLEASE HELP ME!!! APPLE MAIL

    Hi! I am a college student and this is my first Mac. When I got the MacBook, I deleted out the Mail program because I though you needed a .mac account to use it. Well I would like it back since I have figured out how to use it for GMail. I know that you could reinstall custom with the disk however, I dont have the disk with me. I am in college and those disks are at my house more than an hour away. I was wondering if there was any other way to do this or if someone could please email me or send me a copy of this program. Thank you so much! Colleen

    Okay I have the mail.pkg on my computer but I cant install it. I get to a part where it says "click upgrade to perform a basic installation of this software package..." I click upgrade and type in my password. It starts to install then says to please try installing again. This is really frustrating.

  • Please help with a custom javascript

    Hello,
    I am a military instructor, and I am trying to create a grade report card with Acrobat X Pro.  So far I have made good progress with the help of the forum community (just searching through the pages and pages of posts), but I am stuck on this issue.
    Like I stated,  I am creating a report card (of sorts) where our other instructor staff can input student test grades into the fields as they [students] progress through training.  The form is showing the particular test with an input field for the grade.  Lastly, the student's overal GPA is displayed in percent format.
    My conundrum: I am trying to code a field that all a user [instructor] will have to input is a numerical value with or without a decmil, and the field will display it as a percentage.
    If I use acrobats default percentage, the number entered into the field will be multiplied by 100 (i.e. I enter 90 and acrobat displays 9000% in the field).
    I would just like to be able to type in 90, and 90% be displayed; or type in 88.5, and 88.5% be displayed.
    With the scripts I have entered, no decmils can be displayed, and the overal score is multiplying the average by 100, thus if I entered the number 90 in the first exam, the average calculates to 9000%.
    I am assuming the custom format script and custom keystroke script made the average calculation script not work correctly.
    Thanks in advance.  Ryan
    I have entered the following javascripts:
    1.  Document Level Script
    // Document-level function
    function DigOnlyKS() {
        // Get all that is currently in the field
        var val = AFMergeChange(event);
        // Reject entry if anything but digits
        event.rc = AFExactMatch(/\d*/, val);
    2.  Custom Format Script
    // Custom Format script for text field
    if (event.value) event.value += "%";
    3.  Custom Keystroke Script
    // Custom Keystroke script
    DigOnlyKS();
    4.  Custom Calculation Script for an Overal Grade Average
    event.value = myAverageFunction(["pk1","pk2","pk3","pk4","pk5","pk6","pk7","pk8","pk9","pk10","pk11","p k12","pk13","pk14","pk15","pk16","pk17","pk18","pk19","pk20","pk21","pk22","pk23","pk24"," pk25"]);
    function myAverageFunction(aNames) {
        // n = number of fields that have a numerical value
        // sum = some of values for the named fields
        var n = 0;
        var sum = 0;
        var v;
        // loop through array of name strings
        for (i = 0; i < aNames.length; i++) {
          v = this.getField(aNames[i]).valueAsString;
          // check for not a null string and not a space  and not is Not a Number
          if (v != "" & v != " " & isNaN(v) == false) {
             n++; // increment count
             sum += Number(v); // add to sum
        return (n != 0) ? (sum / n): "";

    Try,
    I'm sorry for being so ignorant with javascript.
    I placed that code in the custom keystroke like you suggested, but it did not work.    Is there a specific way I need to input that code in the custom keystroke area?
    I then tried to put it in the document level code and replaced (/\d*/, val) with your code... that really screwed thing up.
    So now I am stuck where I was before.
    I will try and show you what I am trying to accomplish:
    Right now, this is what is happening
    Exam 1
    Exam 2
    Exam 3
    Final Average
    95.5%
    95.3%
    94.3%
    95.033333%
    What I would like to do is to limit each field to 2 decmil places.
    Each "exam field" has the following:
    The "final average" field has the following:
    and this is in the custom calculations area of the "final average" field:
    Finally, I have this in the Documet JavaScripts area:
    I have a feeling this is an easy fix, but I just cannot figure it out.
    Thanks,
    Ryan

  • It's a mystery...  Please help. (Airport IP related)

    I'm having trouble with Airport. Here is the story: I have a cable modem and the snow airport. It has been working well with my Powerbook G4. A short time ago, I brought home an iMac G4. I was having trouble getting both computers online at the same time so I reset the airport. Now iMac will go online but the airport admin utility wont find the airport. The Powerbook will not go online but I can administer the airport from it. To make things more curious, the airport is is set up to distribute a single address in the form of 10.0.1.X with X being 1 for the airport. The laptop is 2. The iMac (this is the only one that connects to the internet) has its IP address as 207.237.233.192 with the airport being 207.237.232.1. What is frustrating is that I am unable to get these two computers on the same page because the admin utility won't recognize the airport from the comptuer that works. I've tried manually setting the IPs to no avail. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

    They are both on my airport network without question. The airport admin utility on the iMac will not recognize any network even though my wireless network is listed correctly on the airport menu and I can access the internet.
    At first the Powerbook was working with the base station but when I couldn't seem to add the iMac to the network, I reset everything. Then for some reason the iMac would work but the Powerbook wouldn't.
    The Powerbook lists the same network (mine) under the airport menu and the admin utility will recognize my base station but I am not connected to the internet. The diagnostics program failed to solve the problem. It is successful up to ISP then fails.

  • Who is the Vice President of Customer relations? Do you have a number where he can be reached?

    Hi doglady, I will be glad to assist you. Please provide via private message complete description of the problem, model # of unit, phone #, date of purchase and reference #'s related to the issue (i.e,event #, work order).  Thanks, Hailey

    Hi Hailey - I am frustrated and disappointed with Sony Customer Service abroad, specifically, in the Philippines. I am unwilling to work with teams abroad after my experience and I have been a customer for over 10 years. I am also writing to the VP of Sony Electronics Sales, Mr. Michael Fasulo, of my poor experience via phone and chat with the Philippines team that did not resolve my isse and let me know that Customer Service is not their top priority, rather that Sony Policies are their number one priority. This attitude and lack of regard for the customer was communicated by both Vnice Employee ID 806407 and her Supervisor of Customer Service, Jessica, Employee ID 18353, both located in the Philippines. Due to Sony's lack of training and poor customer service, after 10 years of being a customer, I will cancel my order. When a Sony member reaches out I will only consider speaking with a US executive of Customer Service as the subject line indicates or will await communication from Mr. Fasulo. Please do not insist to communicate with teams based abroad. Please provide the VP Customer Relations contact email and phone in NY, USA as I will copy him on the correspondence to Mr. Fasulo. I await your reply with the VP of Customer Relations contact information.

    Hey,
    I want to stop and restart the linux server thru java program.Is it possible to run the os commands thru java program.
    I had it thru Runtime.getRuntime().exec("*.exe");
    it only runs the exe files.How can run files other than exe files like .bat,com ans shell commands..Any body knows please help with the code..or mail to this address
    [email protected]
    thankyou,
    regards,
    j.mouli

    What about "start command.com /C execute.bat", or using the overload that takes a String[] as argument?
    What if you use the the full path of execute.bat?
    What error code do you get?
    And what comes th linux, I'm not sure... you'll need a shell interpreter there too, me thinks. (never had to run anything with runtime.exec on linux). Check the man pages if csh, bash, ksh, or what ever shell you like.
