Please help. store connection issues.

Error Message: iTunes could not connect to iTunes store. Please check network connection and try again.
Specs: MacBook, 10.4.11, iTunes 7
Additional Information: Another computer with iTunes 9.2 can connect to store just fine. Also, there aren't any proxies enabled and I can access the internet from the MacBook.

    uninstall and reinstall
    there is a complicated way to work with just the mobile device support but its simpler just to uninstall itunes and related components and then reinstall itunes
    ur music will be fine, u will just lose the playlists. but ur mobile device support will be working again.

    I am new to itunes. I have never connected to the store, however, I recently downloiaded version 8 and attempted to access the itunes store and received multiple errors. Specifically: "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store unkown error -3212 and unkown error -11222" The term used was check your network connection and try again. Since I have read the previous posts, I must admit I'm a fairly pc illiterate. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Problems connecting to the iTunes Store often stem from issues with the Windows firewall or a firewall in a router, a privacy filter (such as McAfee Internet Privacy Service or Norton Internet Security), an antivirus/antispyware utility, or a download accelerator. Start here:

    for some basic tips to start isolating the cause of the problem. What you may need to do is temporarily disable any such service and see if that fixes the problem. If none of what you read in those articles makes sense to you, you may want to recruit a friend or family member who's more experienced with computers to help you.

  • Please help me connect eMac, cable modem, and Airport Extreme Base Station

    I connected Ethernet cord from cable modem to Airport Extreme Base Station and then another Ethernet cord from Airport Extreme Base Station to eMac, but I could not get internet access on my eMac that way. I'm only getting internet access by directly connecting eMac to cable modem. Can someone please help me with a step by step explanation of how to set these 3 machines up so that I can have internet access on both my eMac and, wirelessly, on my new MacBook.     jenngee, Welcome to the discussion area!
    Ensure that you power off the cable modem for a minute or so when you switch it to another Ethernet device.
    Ensure that you are connecting the WAN port of the AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS) to the cable modem. The eMac should connect to the LAN port.
    The steps for setting this up can be found in the "Designing AirPort Networks" (direct PDF link) document. Look through that document and try to get it setup. Then return here if you have more questions. Don't forget to post what you tried and the issues you encountered.

  • Please help - itunes/nano issues

    So I recieved my new ipod nano today, downloaded itunes onto my laptop (Windows 8) no problem. Then tried to sign into the store to retrieve previously downloaded music and it just says 'store currently unavailable please try again later'. However, when I sign into the store using my daughters ID, I can do so no problem. My own ID is working on my tablet to access the store, however as this does not have a USB port I am unable to sync music to it via this. Please help, this is so frustrating!

    1. I can't update my iPod Product Red. I've downloaded the update, and when I click "update" in iTunes, it just sits there for hours saying its updating
    2. The first time I start windows, connect my iPod Nano and then start iTunes (or even the other way around, start itunes then connect ipod), my nano doesn't show up in itunes. I need to restart the service after plugging in the nano every single time!
    3. I cant restore my iPod Nano either, the same problem with the updating my ipod, the progress screen just goes back and forth for hours without doing anything, infact my nano just seems like it looses synch during both an update and a restore, because the do not disconnect message on the screen goes away once either update or restore process is started.

  • Please help with Contribute issue- Adobe or anyone!

    My issues are many- I don't know where to start. First, as a long-time Adobe customer, I can not believe how support has declined- I really miss my "support package" from the early 90's when I spoke with a person who really knew how to address my problems and/or questions. I am so tired of being outsourced to someone who has no idea how to address my problem- only to send me to "Document #8932023912 03" off of the Adobe website. I want to talk to someone who KNOWS and APPRECIATES this product, and who understands its internal behavior (like what I get when I call MAC SUPPORT). I will pay for it! I have invested thousands of dollars on Adobe software and am now at an unacceptable standstill.
    My small business relies on the Adobe Creative Suite 4 and the Contribute program. Up until now, I have never had a complaint, especially after moving to Mac a few years ago. Troubles started after two things (still not sure what the culprit was) - installing Snow Leopard and installing a Wacom Bamboo tablet (on the same day- my bad). Well, Illustrator, Photoshop work just fine as well as my other non-Adobe programs. But I can't even open InDesign (will post this on the proper post) or Contribute. So Apple had me deduce that I needed to create a new User and try things there. I eventually migrated to this new user but still, I cannot use Contribute.
    I have set permissions with the program and contents of the folder- in addition to my Contribute keys to no avail. I can't even open it. Nor can I open it in my Root user which at least lets me run In Design. I am at a total loss and I need to update a website for my client. PLEASE someone, I would so greatly appreciate any advice or instruction as to how to run Contribute on my new user. Or in my Root user. I just need to get it to open! Reinstall did nothing PLEASE HELP.
    A special note to anyone from Adobe: I want to talk to someone via a support package-- NOT outsourced. Does this fee-based option exist? It doesn't seem to from the main support number. If someone can help direct me, I would appreciate the proper instruction to do so. I need to get my InDesign running again and I have already invested multiple hours, days with Adobe support with NO solution at all. This is unacceptable in my mind, especially for the moneys invested.

    I totally share your views on Adobe period. I loved Macromedia., they also answered all my questions, then Adobe had to buy them out! I called them today (sales Dept., that's where they answer rather quickly., of course), they explained the following: You can pay for a live person, but the prices differ  in that they come in packages. In other words, you can pay a flat rate per hour for one-on-one OR pay for one-on-one tech support 5 times per month, and the amount of times per month vary from that point on., and so does the price!  I'm baffled! They are HORRIBLE!! . Like yourself, am on a standstill ever since I've been stuck with not being able to publish my site with current edits and it gives me a message whereas my own company name is "currently editing the page," so it keeps kicking out. I've tried everything, including but not limited to the following: going to the library and checking out books to troubleshoot; going on Adobe pages for support as well the Help features on the software program., etc...I'm exhausted!  ADOBE you guys need to reassess your Customer Care Support and your outsourcing business as well!!! YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR CUSTOMERS RATHER QUICKLY!!

    I have this package which loads data from  dim tables to a fact table , my Package runs without any problem in BIDS (2012)
    I have installed SQl Server integration services on SQL and service is also running in services.msc,
    the problem comes when i execute my package using my C# application i am using MSDN Method to execute a SSIS package programmatically given here.

    For loading my FactTable i have used a Derived columns  and some lookups , 
    Now if i don't use derived columns and looks ups and just use source and destination component then my package runs fine from my C# application but if i use derived columns or looks ups etc it gives the following error
    "Error in Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime.TaskHost/SSIS.Pipeline: To Run a SSIS package outside of SQL Server Data Tools you must Install Derived Column of Integration services of higher"
    I am searching and trying to resolve this issue from previous 2 days but without any luck please help or guide me what is solution to this problem ,,i will be very thankful
    I have also found that integration services that are running on my system have version  10.0
    but the BIDS have version Version 11.0.3402.0
    IS this causing problem ?  if yes then what i have to do  ?

    The package is developed in SSDT installed by SQL Server 2012, so it is a SSIS 2012 package. However, the Integration Services you have installed is SQL Server 2008 R2 version. To run the package outside SSDT, you need SSIS 2012 installed. The reason why
    the package runs fine with only Source and Destination components is that such a simple package can be executed by the DTExec utility installed by SQL Server 2012 Data base Engine or Client Tools (SQL Server Import and Export Wizard). To run a package that
    uses other tasks/components outside SSDT/BIDS, the SSIS runtime is also required except the DTExec utility. To obtain the SSIS 2012 runtime, we have to install SSIS 2012 on the server where the package runs.

    We have a requirement where our adf/jsf app needs to pick an EXCEL file from the server where the application is deployed. The sequence is :
    User comes to the page
    Clicks on "Open EXCEL" button
    EXCEL file located in the c:/ of the server opens up.
    How can this be done? I do not see any coding needed because the EXCEL file is being opened as is (and after user views it he closes the file) and the data is not being transferred to the jspx page.
    *We are totally flexible in how this is implemented - ie, using button, link , html etc etc. What ever works!!!!*

    When I plug in my ethernet cable to my PB it does not recognize my internet connection. When I plug in the same ethernet cable into my other computers, it works fine. It is something with my PB ethernet connection, for some reason it just quit working. The only options displayed in my network preferences are Airport and Modem connection nothing regarding ethernet connection.

    Check that you have ethernet-port selected in System Preferences/Network. You can find that in the drop down menu in Show: Network status (or whatever it's in english). The bottom selection let's you select which ports are in use.

  • Please help - CD import issue in itunes

    I would really appreciate some help.
    I have a Sony Vaio laptop and a HP I Pod.
    Have used Itunes with no problems for 9 months and have imported/ripped hundreds of CDs into my library with no issues.
    Recently, however, iTunes stopped allowing me to import/rip CDs into my library. When I try, it imports the first 4-5 seconds of the first song and then locks my entire computer up. I have to power down the laptop.
    I attempted to run the CD diagnostic through iTunes, that also locked up the laptop.
    I have uninstalled and re-installed iTunes several times.
    I had my IT guy look at the laptop and do some preliminary research. He indicated that this is not uncommon and that others have reported having this problem since upgrading to iTunes 6.0.
    Based on that, I un-installed 6.0 and went back to the version that came with the iPod. I think it is 4.9. Problem still exists.
    Please help. I still have a lot of music I would like to load into iTunes.

    When running business rule either from Planning Web (Planning 9.3.1.1.8) or EAS, sometime there will be a error "Error connecting to Essbase Server" appear.
    After the error appear, all the can't be run.
    But after a while, problem may disappear and all the rules can be run.
    Anyone having this problem before, please help

  • Please help! connection problems

    ok I've been working on this for several hours now and can't figure it out.  I just moved back home and my connection was working some yesterday but I can't get it to work anymore.
    It says I'm connected but it won't receive any packets.  I changed the SSID name and removed the old SSID's.  I reinstalled my wireless pci card drivers and switched pci slots.  I updated the router's firmware (it's WRT54G).  I changed Advanced Wireless Settings as suggested: Beacon Interval: 50; lowered Fragmentation and RTS threshholds by 40 each.  I switched the router to channel 11.
    I've tried repairing the connection many times (some times it works, most times it won't renew IP address); I've also reset the router many times.
    My computer skills are intermediate but certainly not advanced.  I can't directly connect it to the modem via cable b/c I don't have the necessary hardware (modem card?).  I talked to tech support and I was able to "ping yahoo.com," google, etc successfully but it just won't receive packets...Please help!

    The best thing to do at this point is to go back over setting up the wireless security settings again and make sure that while you are setting up these settings that you connect an Ethernet cable from that computer to the router then perform a power cycle
    You need to remove the power cable from the Linksys router, then remove the power cable from the modem, wait about 60 seconds, then plug in the modem, then plug in the Linksys router. Wait about 3 minutes while the modem and router sync back up. Once all light are back on,disconnect the ethernet cable and now try to connect.
    Here are instructions to follow if you need them
    Setting up your wireless connection in your router.
    *** Step #5 = you can choose the type of encryption that fits your set-up, the example I give is: WPA/TKIP+AES
    ***Also Pay close attention to the security and security key information and make sure it matches. (What is entered in the router must be entered in the computer.
    1.Open Internet Explorer and type 192.168.1.1 into the address bar.
    2.You will now get a sign-in box, User Name = (Leave Blank)
                                                           Password = admin (all lower case letters)
    3.Once the set-up page opens, click on the Wireless Tab as youwill need to change the settings. A) Wireless Network Mode = Mixed
                  B) Wireless Network Name (SSID) = Choose any name and do not use Linksys.
                  C) Wireless Channel = 1, 6 or 11 is best, so see which work best for you.
                  D) Wireless SSID Broadcast = Enabled.
    4. Now go to the bottom of the page and click on save settings.
    5. Click on the Wireless Security Sub tab.
                  A) Security Mode: WPA
                  B) WPA Algorithms: TKIP + AES
                  C) WPA Shared Key:  Type 24 letters, and numbers using lower and upper case letters
                  D) Group Key Renewal: 3600
    6. Once again go to the bottom of the page and click on Save Settings.
    7. Now you can close out of this page.
    8. You will now need to enter the security info into your computer. I will now give you 2 links, depending which operating system you have, Vista or XP you will follow the one you have.

  • Please help us connect my children's new Nanos to the computer!

    I just purchased two Nano's for my children. I have followed the instructions on the CD to install and format the Nanos. We can get the software to load onto the Dell computer but cannot proceed with the next installation step to have it load onto the Nanos. When we plug the Nanos in during the installation step, we cannot select "NEXT" to proceed with the next step. The computer does not recognize the plug in. We have tried both USB ports in the front and back. All are USB 2.0. We have removed all Dell Jukebox and MusicMatch software. And tried to install downloading directly from the Apple website. Please help us! One very frustrated mom and two sad children!

    I have the EXACT same problem...same pc also. The USB ports are good (I've tested with other USB devices). I've installed the Itunes software w/o connecting the Nano (because the software wouldn't let me per above; the NEXT button is grayed out when asked to connect the Nano during installation), and the Itunes software seems to be working fine, but does not see the Nano. No yellow question marks in Device Manager until I plug in the Nano, then I get the yellow question marks under Other devices, subheading is USB device; The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28), To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver. I try reloading drivers by pointing to the CD that came with the Nano, but no good. I've also tried reinstalling the Itunes software and updater 3 times, reset both Nanos, and I still don't get the pc to recognize either Nano. I've reviewed the 5 r's and no help either. Nanos batteries are charging fine. Thanks for any help that can be provided!

  • Please help - Openreach charge issue

    Hi,
    Please help! Is there anyone with technical knowledge and authority over my account charges that I can speak to with regards to an unfair charge that has been placed on my account through a false Openreach engineer's report?
    I transferred to BT on 1st August and, as instructed, waited for the 'go live' email before connecting my HomeHub 4 router. Something that concerned me at the time was that my phone line still had not come back up after being disconnected by my previous supplier, anyhow I went ahead and followed the setup instructions. As I only went for the BT Broadband package (not Infinity) and as decribed here on BT's own help pages, I connected my wired home network which includes a media server and my Sky box to the red GigE port so I wouldn't be short of streaming bandwidth. However, when I turned the router on it would not connect to broadband and nothing I did made any difference. I had no phone and no broadband. I still had no phone line when I disconnected everything and connected my phone directly into the engineer's port behind the master socket faceplate.
    I had to wait 5 days for an Openreach engineer to come out (my wife dealt with him while I was at work) he apparently unplugged my home network from the GigE port and plugged it into one of the yellow 100Mb ports, telling my wife I'd wired it up wrongly(!), but still the phone and broadband would not work. The next thing he did was to replace the master socket and all of a sudden everything was up and running.
    The engineer has subsequently submitted his report stating the reason for the line not working was that I'd wired up the HH4 router incorrectly, which can't be done anyway, and now I'm being charged £99 which is unfair and is patently untrue as it was the master socket that was at fault - borne out by the fact that the phone line was not working before I'd even opened the HH4 packaging. Since his visit I've reconnected my home network to the GigE port and all is working fine - or at least as fine as things can get on a HH4 anyway. I've also been in touch with BT Technical Help who have told me that it is not possible for my network, connected to the GigE port, to have any affect on the master socket, quote "It is illogical [that it should]".
    Is there anybody I can speak to to sort this out?
