Please return to the use of subjects for the email notifications like in the old system.
I have no way of sorting post. Even sorting by subject doesn work right.

No response so will mark answered to get rid of it.

Variants: Overview
Use
Whenever you start a program in which selection screens are defined, the system displays a set of input fields for database-specific and program-specific selections. To select a certain set of data, you enter an appropriate range of values.
For further information about selection screens, see Working with selection screens in the ABAP User's Guide.
If you often run the same program with the same set of selections (for example, to create a monthly statistical report), you can save the values in a selection set called a variant.
You can create any number of variants for any program in which selection screens are defined. Variants are assigned exclusively to the program for which they were created.
You can also use variants to change the appearance of the selection screen by hiding selection criteria. This is particularly useful when you are working with large selection screens on which not all of the fields are relevant.
Reports, module pools, and function groups may have several selection screens. It is therefore possible to create a variant for more than one selection screen.
Variants are an interface between the user and the selection screen. They can be used both in dialog and in background mode, although their uses are slightly different.
Variants in Dialog Mode
In dialog mode, variants make things easier for the user, since they save him or her from continually having to enter identical values. They can also make the selection screen easier to read, because you can use them to hide input fields. Running an executable program with a variant containing an optimal set of values also reduces the capacity for user error. The optimized database selections speed up the runtime of the program.
Variants in Background Mode
Variants are the only method for passing values to a report program in a background job. Therefore, when you run a program in the background, you must use a variant (or SUBMIT... VIA JOB). To avoid you having to create a new variant each time you run the report, ABAP contains a mechanism allowing you to pass variable values to variants. See variable values in variants.
To ensure that an executable program is always started using a variant, you can specify in the program attributes that the program may only be started in this way.

You access the variant maintenance tool from the initial screen of the ABAP Editor. Enter the name of the program, select Variants in the Sub-objects group box, and then choose Display or Change.

Before creating a new variant for a program, you should check whether you can use or adapt an existing variant instead.
There are two ways to display variants:
Position the cursor on the Variant field on the initial screen and press F4. The following dialog box lists all of the available variants:

Procedure

On the variant maintenance initial screen, enter the name of the variant you want to create.
Note the naming convention for variants (see below).
Choose Create.
If the program has more than one selection screen, a dialog box appears in which you can assign the variant to one or more screens. The dialog box does not appear if the program only has one selection screen. In this case, the selection screen of the program appears straight away.
If there is more than one selection screen, select the screens for which you want to create the variant.
Example:

Otherwise, the variant only supplies values to the selection screens that you select in the list.

The (first) selection screen of the program appears.
If your program has more than one selection screen, use the scroll buttons in the left-hand corner of the application toolbar to navigate between them. If you keep scrolling forwards, the Continue button appears on the last selection screen.
Enter the required selections, including multiple and dynamic selections.
Choose Continue.
Result
When you have finished, an overview screen appears (ABAP: Save Attributes of Variant), on which you can enter the attributes of your variant and save it.
Note that when you create a new variant, you must enter both values and attributes.
Names of variants: Names can consist of up to 14 alphanumeric characters. The "% " character is not allowed. If you want the variant to be transported automatically with its program, you must create a system variant. The name of a system variant starts "CUS&" for customers, and "SAP&" for SAP system variants. You can only use the "&" character within this prefix in the name of a system variant. It may not occur in any other context. System variants are administered by the Workbench Organizer. Although you can create and access variants from any client, they are always stored in client "000".

I want to print or export (PDF) a design with a indication of the used pantone colors without the separations so that our customer can see them (not CMYK)

Before i used CS illustrator i was able to indicate the used pantone colors on a print or PDF with coreldraw.
Can anyone tell me how to make such a print with CS6.
My clients have to see the used Pantone colors in the design (not CMYK)

Add your spot colors to your swatches panel (Window> Swatch Library> Color Books> Pantone+ Solid Coated>)
In the fly-out menu on the swatches panel, select all unused swatches and delete. Also delete any unused swatch groups.
File> Document set-up> make the bleed .5".
Use the type tool to indicate the spot colors on the outside edge of the bleed area, make the type color match the indicated spot color.
Save as PDF. This PDF printed with bleed will show the spot colors. Alternately, you could select "add crop marks and color bar" in the print settings, which should also indicate the spot colors.
In InDesign you can add a Slug area to your page, where the spot colors would typically be added.

Customise Subject Line for Email Notifications?

I am using FormsCentral to receive Course Submissions.
Because Gmail groups all emails with identical Subjects & Senders, I need to be able to differentiate the Subject line of the Email Notifications, to include a unique field identifier (such as email address).
Is there a way of doing this? This would mean a vastly improved workflow for me, if the emails coming in are "unthreaded" because of Subject Line uniqueness!

please can we add this to the Feature Request List.
Every notification generated by the form arrives with an identical sender and Subject. Gmail reads them as part of one long thread, and there is no way to separate the items in a single thread without changing the default Email settings.
I need either the Submitter's name, or their email plus the date of form submission to appear in the Subject Line of the Notification. This would be a MASSIVE plus. The use of special shortcodes for such notifications is a feature offered by parallel industries, such as ZenDesk, where each support request can be configured to show custom info.
I hope you can prioritise this feature request.

What is the use of targetNamespace in the WSDL file and what goes into it

I am not sure how is targetNamespace useful in WSDL definition. Are there any rules for putting value into that attribute. My code generator works for any value.
For example, Both the following code snippets work.

The targetnamespace is used define the namespace for the definitions made in your schema.
For example,
<xsd:schema
xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
targetNamespace="foo">
<xsd:complexType name="fred">
</xsd:complexType>
Then "Fred" will be in the "foo" namespace
And if you had another schema in your wsdl like
<xsd:schema
xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
targetNamespace="bar">
<xsd:complexType name="fred">
</xsd:complexType>
Then you would have two "fred" types one in the "foo" namespace and one in the "bar" namespace.
Then later on in your WSDL you could refer to either one.

I bought an iPhone 5 so i could have the possibility to use the new 4G network here in Belgium, now my provider tells me that they can't give me 4G on my iPhone 5 (any other one yes),they say because Apple blocks the use of 4G on the iPhone's here

After buying a iPhone 5 and iPad mini, and now thinking of buying the 5S and the mini retina, I just changed to an other provider who had a much better deal for a subscription, also one of the first who offers here 4G, now just starting with my new provider and curious how the 4G connection will be, whatever I did I could not get it to work on 4G, now my provider tells me that Apple is blocking all the iPhones here to be able to work with 4G, and they let them work with 4G on only one provider here ( that's very expensive ). I was wondering if this is true or if anyone has the same experience.

The Belgium 4G networks supported by the iPhone 5 are Mobistar and Telenet. The other carriers's networks have yet to be approved by Apple. Perhaps their networks are not up to Apple's standards and again, perhaps, the approval will come in the future.
In the meantime, you can only receive 4G services from either Mobistar or Telenet.

Using Alert Framework to send email notifications when Process Chain fails

Hi Everyone,
I've configured ALRTCATDEF in Solution Manager, selected the alerting option for Process Chains in - RSPC > Attributes > Alerting, but it looks like whenever any process chain fails, an email notification will be sent to the same recipients.
Is there anyway to have an ALRCATDEF - alert category for different process chains, so that different recipients receive notifications for different Process Chains.

Interesting....I was actually hoping for different recipients for different process chains.
E.g. for our
CRM process chain - Support Team 1
FI process chain - Support Team 2
and so on and so on.
I think the only way may be creating a custom process type and implementing a class for this process type that calls function SALRT_CREATE_API. Then adding this process type to the process chain, with a different variant for each.
However if anyone knows a way to do this in a SAP standard way using the Alert Framework, that would be great.

XI File Adapter: Sender and the use of wildcards in the directory name

Quick question for you XI guru's. I have a requirement to <b>read</b> files from an ftp server that live in separate directories like:
/dir1/subdir1/in/
/dir1/subdir2/in/
/dir1/subdir3/in/
I want to setup the communication channel so that it does something like:
/dir1/*/in
Normally I would specify the other directories in the advanced tab however there could be potentially 1000's of subdir's so I want to use a wildcard. Is it possible to do this with a directory name?
I have read this link and it seems to only indicate using wildcards in the filename.

bcz you know three directories. so you can use OS script file and that file can be configured in Ftp adapter.

The use of pseudonyms as the main iCloud iCloud IMAP / new iCloud email without changing Apple ID

There was a need in a new email. My main email of [email protected] and [email protected] I don't use these emails. I created the pseudonym [email protected] and I want that [email protected] was the MAIN email of iCloud IMAP
And [email protected] and [email protected] it is simple to remove.
I am very captious person and if something is connected with names that to me very strongly hurts the eyes. Certainly I could forget, but what for? to me these emails the truth aren't necessary! I use [email protected] from it I write and I receive letters. [email protected] and [email protected] are disconnected in settings and for them only letters come. I want them to remove FOREVER from an account of Apple ID and to use one as the main [email protected]

On the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch: Settings > Mail, Contacts and Calendars > Add Account > iCloud.
On the Mac: System Preferences > Mail, Contacts and Calendars > + (at the bottom of the sidebar) > iCloud.
Note that a second iCloud account may not have the same features as the main iCloud account

The use of ft. in the artists name

Can apple please make a way to put a ft. next to an artist and when you sync it to your ipod it still stays as the same artist?

There already is a way. Select the entire album of an artist where the album has a lot of other "featured" artists (to answer the other poster, "ft." is short for "featurered"). No put the basic name in the "Album Artist" field. This allows you to have slightly different names in the "Artist" field, but the "Album Artist" field you pick ONE NAME to keep them all together.
