Please Wait Script

I have a payment script which processes credit cards through PayPal, they say that it can take as long as 30 seconds to process the payment, which leaves the end user hanging.
I need a script that displays a 'Please Wait - Your order is being processed" in the middle of the screen.
Would anybody happen to have anything off the shelf that I could use? If it uses any server side code, it must run on a CF7 server
Thanks
Mark

Thanks for the reply Dan, I was just about to post myself to say that I had found a solution, a simple little script that works real well. The only thing I can't seem to do with it is add more than one line of text without it leaving a huge gap between the two lines, but that's not the end of the world.
This script puts a please waiting on top of the existing submit page and it does not disappear until the next page is ready to be displayed, which also helps by not allowing them access to the submit button
Here's the code, I'm sure somebody else will also find this valuable:
<script type="text/javascript">
var ray={
ajax:function(st)
        this.show('load');
show:function(el)
        this.getID(el).style.display='';
getID:function(el)
        return document.getElementById(el);
</script>
<style type="text/css">
#load{
position:absolute;
z-index:1;
border:13px double #000000;
background:#ff8400;
width:700px;
height:300px;
margin-top:-150px;
margin-left:-150px;
top:50%;
left:35%;
text-align:center;
line-height:300px;
font-family:"Trebuchet MS", verdana, arial,tahoma;
font-size:18pt;
color:ffffff;
</style>
<div id="load" style="display:none;">Processing... Please wait. May take up to 30 seconds</div>
You then just have to make sure you have ONSUBMIT in the form
<form action="YOUR NEXT PAGE.cfm" method="post" onsubmit="return ray.ajax()">

  • Please wait for the group policy client - shutting down issues

    Hi
    I have issues with shutting down machines. When machine is connected to company's LAN everything works fine. However, if machine is connected to VPN - Juniper NC - 1 hour or more it always hangs when it is shutting down. When I shut down the machine
    (verbose mode on), first stage is:
    Please wait for the system Event Notification service.
    This ends exactly
    after 3 minutes. Next stage:
    Please wait for the group policy client windows 7
    ...is never timed out (even after few hours). Machine never shuts down.
    In Application logs there are always these 4 events when machine is unsuccessfully shutting down:
    6005: The winlogon notification subscriber <Sens> is taking long time to handle the notification event (Logoff).
    4627: The COM+ Event System timed out attempting to fire the Logoff method on event class {D5978650-5B9F-11D1-8DD2-00AA004ABD5E} for publisher  and subscriber .  The subscriber failed to respond within 180 seconds.
    The display name of the subscription is "ISensLogon2". The HRESULT was 80010002.
    6006: The winlogon notification subscriber <Sens> took 180 second(s) to handle the notification event (Logoff).
    6005: The winlogon notification subscriber <GPClient> is taking long time to handle the notification event (Logoff).
    Sens is timed out after 3 minutes while there is no 6006 event for GPClient and machine is stuck there for ages (Please wait for the group policy client
    stage). I noticed in System logs that machine always hangs if there is this error
    5783: The session setup to the Windows NT or Windows 2000 Domain Controller \\server for the domain X is not responsive.  The current RPC call from Netlogon on \\machine to \\server has been cancelled.
    I made a group policy log and below you can see part of GPSVC log when machine is unsuccessfully shutting down:

    I tried with signing out from VPN before shutting down machine, I even switched off WiFi but machine still hung. If i tried to get GP results before shutting down machine it takes ages and it is stuck in "Getting the user name" stage.
    Gpupdate /force never updates policy (It stops at Updating Policy...). I tired with installing different hotfixes which did not resolve the issue. I never have any
    issues with logging in, no GP scripts are applied when user is logging off or on, no roaming profiles. The only issue is when machine needs to be shut down.
    I excluded 1 machine from GP and left it on VPN for a few hours, several times. It always shuts down successfully. I applied GP back one by one and the one which is presumably causing an issue is Avecto which adds admin rights when VPN application
    starts (event 100):
    Process started with admin rights added to token.
     Command Line: "C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Juniper Networks\Setup Client\JuniperSetupClient.exe"
     Process Id: 5540

    I guess there is a DNS issues when machine is on VPN which leads that GP cannot be applied / updated. Not sure if or why Avecto would have an impact on this. When machine is trying to shut down it still somehow thinks it is connected to DC. What
    I also noticed are several explorer crashes while machine is on VPN.
    Does anyone have same issues? All machines are Dell with Juniper NC (VPN).
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    According to event log, Winlogon process takes a long time to handle logoff event. That's to say winlogon process is waiting for response to logoff.
    According to your description after, this problem is most probably caused by Avecto. You can try to disable or uninstall it temporarily for test.
    To make further troubleshoot with this problem, you can try to use WPT (Windows Performance Tool) to make troubleshoot.

  • Install 8.1.7 on RedHat 9 hangs after Initializing JVM from ..Please Wait

    I am trying to install 8i 8.1.7 on redhat linux 9. when I start the installer I initially got the first error below. I did export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1. Now the installation starts and I get

    and then get back to the $prompt after some time and the welcome screen never comes up.
    Whats wrong?

    Hi,
    Follow the Steps below as I managed to configure and Install it with the help of these steps
    1. Things you need before the installation
    Before you start installing Oracle, you need to have the following packages:
         jdk-1.1.8_v3 - Blackdown Linux port of Sun's Java Development Kit
    You can find it at www.blackdown.org
         Red Hat Linux 6.2 compatibility packages
    compat-libstdc++-6.2-2.9.0.16
    compat-glibc-6.2-2.1.3.2
    compat-libs-6.2-3
    compat-egcs-6.2-1.1.2.16
    You can find these packages on your RedHat CDs, download them from RedHat site, or from some mirror site.
         glibc-2.1.3-stubs Patch from Oracle.
    2. Pre-install actions
    2.1 Installing compatibility packages
    Install all of the RedHat 6.2 compatibility packages mentioned above by issuing rpm -Uvh package_name, e.g:
    # rpm -Uvh /mnt/cdrom/RedHat/RPMS/compat-libs-6.2-3.i386.rpm
    2.2 Installing Java development kit
    According to jdk documentation, we will install it under /usr/local by issuing e.g.
    # tar -xvjf jdk-1.1.8_v3.tar.bz2 -C /usr/local
    Note that it is not necessary to add path to the java executables in PATH environment variable, so you can safely keep whatever jdk or jre version you already have.
    2.3 User oracle, groups and software mount points
    We need to create two groups, oinstall and dba.
    The oinstall group will own all the installation files, so user oracle should have the oinstall group as its initial group. We also need one more group, dba, that will have oracle's SYSDBA and SYSOPER privileges granted. User oracle should have the dba group as its supplementary group. Note that all linux users (accounts) that are in group dba will also get these privileges.
    # groupadd oinstall
    # groupadd dba
    # useradd -g oinstall -G dba oracle
    # passwd oracle
    Create directories in which database files will reside. Oracle recommends OFA - Optimal Flexible Architecture (see oracle installation guide), but in this example everything will be installed under /home/oracle:
    # mkdir /home/oracle/product
    # cd /home/oracle/product
    # mkdir 8.1.7
    # chown -R oracle.oinstall /home/oracle/*
    2.4 Setting the environment for oracle account
    We should now login as user oracle and put the following lines at the end of .bash_profile:
    export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.5
    source /usr/i386-glibc21-linux/bin/i386-glibc21-linux-env.sh
    export ORACLE_BASE=/home/oracle
    export ORACLE_HOME=$ORACLE_BASE/product/8.1.7
    export ORA_NLS33=$ORACLE_HOME/ocommon/nls/admin/data
    export PATH=$PATH:$ORACLE_HOME/bin
    unset LANG
    First two lines modify your environment so that gcc and ld look for glibc 2.1.3 compatibility headers and libraries.
    The unset LANG line is there because if LANG is set, java is known to generate JNLS Exceptions.
    Listing of valid Oracle NLS Data parameters including supported languages, territories and storage character sets can be found here.
    The .bash_profile should now be executed in order to initialize these variables:
    $ source /home/oracle/.bash_profile
    or we can just log off and than back on as user oracle.
    If you use some shell other than bash (tcsh, sh, ...) all of those variables should be set according to syntax of your shell and put in script that automatically executes at user login.

  • Maintenance Wizard appears to hang:  Execution Started: Please Wait

    I have a customer using the following navigation route through Maintenance Wizard:

    However the next page seems to hang with:

    Please Wait.
    Can anyone advise what could be the problem or how to get additonal errors to diagnose the problem.

    It took about 8 seconds for me. Not too bad at all.

  • "Please Wait" message

    Good afternoon,
    I have setup the javascript to display a clock icon with "...Working..." displayed while long processes are running when a button is pressed. What I need to do now is to define a link in a report column, initializing values from columns within the report and still display that "Please Wait" icon & message.
    How do I get the "Please Wait" to work and still pass multiple parameters to my linked page that are values from the report, not within variables in the page?
    Thanks,
    Don.

    Good morning,
    I have managed to figure this out for myself. Here is the solution (in case someone else wants to do this):
    1. Creating the whole "PLEASE_WAIT" process using the following information that I found here in the APEX Forum:
    A.) Add this text to the Page HTML Header (or create a shortcut like I did):
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    function html_Submit_Progress(pThis){
    $x_Show('AjaxLoading');
    window.setTimeout('$s("AjaxLoading",$x("AjaxLoading").innerHTML)', 100);
    doSubmit('SUBMIT');
    function submit_HideAll(pThis){
    $x_Hide('wwvFlowForm');
    doSubmit('SUBMIT');
    function submit_ButtonRegion(pThis){
    $x_Hide('button_region');
    doSubmit('SUBMIT');
    //-->
    </script>
    B.) Add this text to the PAGE FOOTER for each page you wish to use the "Please Wait" pop-up.
    <style>     #AjaxLoading{padding:5px;font-size:18px;width:100px;text-align:center;left:50%;top:50%;position:absolute;border:2px solid #666;background-color:#FFF;}
    </style>
    <div id="AjaxLoading" style="display:none;">..Working..
    <img src="#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#clock.gif" id="wait" /></div>
    C.) Add this to the BUTTON (or URL) you wish to activate the "Please Wait" pop-up.
    D.) Be sure to have a default branch back to the page containing the "Please Wait" pop-up; if you are adding this to page 5, have an unconditional branch to Page 5.
    To add it to a url, add the following text to the Page HTML Header:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function open2(url){
    window.location = url;
    </script>
    Then, in the "Column Link" section of the report item definition, provide your link as follows:
    javascript:javascript:html_Submit_Progress(this);open2('f?p=&APP_ID.&APP_PAGE.:&SESSION.::&DEBUG.::P19_Variable:#P18_VALUE#);
    Substituting the P19_VARIABLE and #P18_VALUE# with the appropriate variable name and value. You can have multiple variables assigning each a value, simply separate the varible names with a comma and do the same for the variable.
    If this is all too confusing, write to me and I'll try to explain it better. I'm not a JAVA person myself, so this might not be the optimum solution - but it is a solution that works.
    Thanks,
    Don.

  • "Please Wait Message" Slider with cfgrid

    Some of my cfgrid type=html results are taking a long time
    and an impatient user will likely wander if they need to hit the
    submit button again. I've seen how to implement a standard "Please
    Wait Message" with flushing periodic results, but how do I do it in
    this datagrid environment with an AJAX-based cfgrid with CF8.01? My
    users all use IE 6.

    I believe I did. Here's the code. Functions without the line
    "grid.loadMask = true;"
    <HTML>
    <HEAD>
    <cfajaximport
    tags="cfform,cfdiv,cftextarea,cflayout-tab,cflayout-border,cfinput-datefield,cfgrid"
    />
    <script type="text/javascript" >
    <cfajaxproxy cfc="#strcomponentpath#"
    jsclassname="diaproxy" />
    diaproxy = new diaproxy();
    diaproxy.setCallbackHandler(handleResult);
    function initDIA(){
    //set page permissions
    setstartuppermissions();
    //the grid will be empty, but will have the default layout
    customizeGrid();
    // Set the focus to the first search field for those that
    prefer to not use a mouse
    setFocus();
    function setFocus(){
    var objFirstField = document.frmSearchGrid.strsearchdb[0];
    objFirstField.focus();
    <!--- this function is called when the Search button is
    clicked --->
    function submitSearch(){
    //refresh grid with new parameters
    setpermissions('test');
    ColdFusion.Grid.refresh("searchGrid", true);
    customizeGrid();
    <!--- this function is called to refresh grid (hiding
    columns and customizing grid footer) --->
    function customizeGrid(){
    <!--- Create a new paging tool bar in the grid footer and
    display the record count in it. --->
    // get the grid component

  • Please wait or portlet loading message

    How are you guys handling this for both stand alone portlets and adabptive porltets? Click in portlet A, portlet B should show "loading..." (or somehting) while you wait for content. You guys using standard js? putting the js in the header portlet or in each portlet?
    Thanks!

    i'm sure there is a better way to do it lately using something like jquery but this is how we did it in the past. i would name a div and then use a function to set the div inner html to "loading..." and also register for the callback at the same time so it would show loading until the the event registered for was fired from another portlet. hope this helps.
    <script type="text/javascript">
    //there is a bug in the .NET filter 2.2 which causes FireFox to get into infinite loop.
    //this ensures that the PCC is loaded once.
    //myRegistrationVar is a bogus variable.
    if(typeof(myRegistrationVar2) == 'undefined')
         var container = document.getElementById('highlight_content');
         container.innerHTML = "<br><center>Loading Data. Please Wait...</center></br>";

  • EA6300 setup screen keeps saying 'Please wait'

    Hi,
    I have an EA6300 router but when I want to setup at linksyssmartwifi.com, the page just says 'please wait' and the little blue circle goes around around.
    I reset the router, unplugged/plugged the modem, restarted the computer but it's all the same.
    Does anyone have clue what I am doing wrong?
    Many thanks.

    PC 3rd Party Security Software Configurations
    Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.
    Turn off all devices accept for one wired LAN PC while testing.
    PC Web Browser Configurations
    What browser are you using?
    Try Opera or FF? If IE 8, 9, 10 or 11, set compatibility mode and test again.
    Disable any security browser Add-ons like No Script and Ad-Block or configure them to allow All Pages when connected to the router.
    Clear all browser caches.
    Be sure to log into the Admin account on the router.
    Try turning off these features in Chrome:
    Top right corner, little bars for options > Settings > Settings (on left) > Show advanced settings.
    Uncheck these:
    Use a web service to help resolve navigation errors
    Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar
    Predict network actions to improve page load performance
    Enable phishing and malware protection
    IE 11 and Linksys Active X Install
    A quick workaround is to enable developer mode (F12), go to the button icon on the right (Emulation) and select "Internet Explorer 10" instead of "Edge" on Document Mode.
    Log into the Local-Log-in link. Bottom right hand corner of the screen. Use that log in to set up the router first. Once it's all set up, then you can use the linksyssmartwifi.com and activate and connect to the router from remote locations.

  • How to do please wait

    I have a site that access our mainframe tables to compare data that the user enters on our page. When the user hits submit, sometimes there may be a delay to access these mainframe tables of 10 sec. or possibly more depending on traffic. When the user hits submit, how could I show a please wait message/animated image until the response comes back from our mainframe?
    Thanks!!!

  • OT: How can I manage a "Please Wait" message with this scenario?

    I have a page which allows you to paste in a potentially
    large list of zip
    codes.
    When you submit this page, the list is de-duped, and then
    checked against a
    table of ~22,000 zips for matches.
    Where and how in this process could I bring up a "Please
    Wait" message while
    the transaction is being completed?

  • Launching VB6 Editor after installing Visual Studio 2013 results in "Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Visual Studio..."

    I have had various versions of Visual Studio installed beside Visual Basic 6.0 Enterprise for some time with no problems, most recently Visual Studio 2012 Premium.
    I recently installed Visual Studio 2013 Premium, and now every time I open VB6 I get a dialog that says "Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Visual Studio Professional 2013" that shows a progress bar. After it finishes (30 seconds or
    so), it launches again and again and finally VB6 will open. This happens with each instance of VB6, regardless if I've already done it once and never run VS2013 in between.
    If I cancel the dialog, I get this error message in a dialog: "Error 1712. One or more of the files required to restore your computer to its previous state could not be found. Restoration will not be possible." Several more "Please wait"...
    dialogs will appear and if I continue to cancel, eventually I'll get the VB6 editor. It appear to work fine despite the error messages.
    It seems to me that the VS2013 installer flagged some dll's or other files to be rolled back whenever starting VB6. It doesn't appear to be necessary, and I'd like to avoid playing the "Please wait" wack-a-cancel-button game before launching each
    instance of VB6 (or waiting several minutes for no reason). So how do I fix this?
    Note: I've seen something similar happen in Outlook on a different PC when upgrading from 2010 to 2013. The same sort of "Please wait"... dialog would appear each time I opened Outlook. Judging by the "similar" questions that popped up when
    entering this forum post, I'd say this is a general problem with upgrading older versions or installing newer versions of major Microsoft software side-by-side.

    I found the answer!
    I was having the exact same issue, and I was search for a solution and I happened across the following thread: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/f4b0fd38-f4f9-41ea-bd8d-834203a175d2/building-visual-studio-2010-project-triggers-please-wait-while-windows-configures-visual-studio?forum=vssetup&prof=required
    Scroll a small bit down, and there is a post by Barry Wang explaining that you need to use event viewer to find out what is missing. Anyway, I opened event viewer, then open VS 6, then hit refresh in the event viewer (under Windows Logs -> Application)
    and saw a warning message from MsiInstaller. It gave me the following message:
    Detection of product '{9C593464-7F2F-37B3-89F8-7E894E3B09EA}', feature 'Visual_Studio_Professional_x86_enu', component '{E3FF99AA-78B9-4A06-8A74-869E9F65E1FE}' failed.  The resource 'C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\URTInstallPath_GAC\' does
    not exist.
    I opened an elevated command prompt, I navigated to the C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework folder and verified that 'URTInstallPath_GAC' didn't exist, and then I did "md URTInstallPath_GAC".
    Closed and reopened VS 6, and it instantly opened - no "Please wait" message.
    Now this may or may not be the same problem you are having (problem is - I have had it happen on two separate computers now with VS 6 and VS 2013 installed), but it should point you in the right direction. In fact, you should be able to use the Event Viewer
    for anytime the "Please wait" message shows up for any application, and then once there find out what is really missing.

    Need Help ASAP  my State tax form is in a PDF file and the attachment in my email says Please wait...
    I tried downloading updates like it said to but it still will not display the document.  How do I print the PDF file ASAP

    Can you give us a LOT more info?
    What email client? What version of Reader (I can only assume you even have Reader at this point)?
    Please wait? I'm sure it says more than that, right?
    Have you tried simply saving the PDF (it IS a PDF correct?) to your desktop and opening it from there?
    Did you get this form from the IRS or did it come from somewhere else? If the IRS again, what version of Reader?
    Help us help you.

    My ipod 60gb classic is showing as fully charged until I connect it to my pc when it comes up with the error message, 'please wait very low battery' and the little wheel goes round and nothing happens, can anyone explain why this is and what i can do?

    I have worked my way through the assistant and nothing works. I have tried connecting in disc mode but although the screen on the ipod is showing that the device is charged and that it is in disc mode as soon as I connect it to the computer it comes up with the error message 'please wait very low battery' and stays like that until I disconnect when it appears to be OK again. I have tried on both pc and mac.
    BTW the ipod is an ipod video not classic if that makes any difference.
    Thanks

  • Is there a setting to automatically close the "please wait while we generate your document" page that pops up when downloading a pdf file?

    I am constantly downloading pdf's and excel files from our company software which uses a web browser to access it. When I download a file, firefox generates a full screen pop up window that states "please wait while we generate your document." My problem with it is the fact that pop up window does not close after the download. I have to manually close the window. Is there a way to set that pop up window to close automatically after the file has finished downloading and is open in foxit reader or excel or word or whatever?
    Thanks,
    Tony

    Hi,
    You could try is to '''Disable''' the Foxit, Adobe and Office '''Plugins''' in '''Tools '''('''Alt '''+ '''T''') > '''Add-ons''' and use the normal Firefox Open with (when you click on a link) to browse/open it in the required application.
