Please wait or portlet loading message

How are you guys handling this for both stand alone portlets and adabptive porltets? Click in portlet A, portlet B should show "loading..." (or somehting) while you wait for content. You guys using standard js? putting the js in the header portlet or in each portlet?
Thanks!

i'm sure there is a better way to do it lately using something like jquery but this is how we did it in the past. i would name a div and then use a function to set the div inner html to "loading..." and also register for the callback at the same time so it would show loading until the the event registered for was fired from another portlet. hope this helps.

  • How to send a 'loading, please wait...' message to user

My web application needs to load about 1000 item names to screen. It takes about half a minute before the names are returned.
While waiting, the screen is blank and user wouldn't know what's going on. Is there a way to send a first page ('Loading, please wait...')to the browser, and then desplay the result page after the procedure completed.
I searched in this forum before posting but didn't get help. I'm pretty new in this area, please help me.
    Thanks.

By clicking a button. It's like a principal logins to school site, the first page he/she sees is student name page, the page is a big dropdown down list with all the student names in this school.
I tried some javescript but didn't work. I think the problem could be:
    1. it takes time to get data from table and generate a html doc.
    2. it takes time to display the page.
Reason1 is main problem and any javascript won't work at this step.
    Any suggestions, please?

I hope you get this before Apple bumps my response. I and everyone I know that has a 5th generation Ipod has the same trouble as you. Don't bother sending it in to Apple because they will just tell you there isn't anything wrong with your unit and send it back. I have had my 60 gb since September and it has crapped out on me more times than I care to count and these are waaayyyy too expensive for this B.S.!!! Read this article, printed it is 9 pages but it may help you:
    http://www.vsa.cape.com/~danh/ipod.htm#meter
With all the people having this problem I can not believe that apple is not doing something about it or a least giving an intelligent answer to this question.

  • Display ("Please Wait") message WHILE the page loads

    Hello All,
I have adf/jsf application. How to add message " Please Wait While Page Loads" WHILE+* the page is loading ?
I am thinking of Window.confirm(" Please Wait While The Page Loads") Is there a better (More Modern) way to do this?_
    Many Thanks,

John, when I type <af:statusIndicator and ctrl + space, JDev does not show statusIndicator as one of the choices. I tried adding code but it seems it does not recognize statusIndicator as one of the tags. I am using other jsf and adf tags on the same page :(
    Thanks,

  • Please wait while ...

    HI ppl,
Give me some ideas how to display a msg "Please wait while page loads " while jsp page is doing long database operations.
I know how to achieve this in html pages using javascript when page loads big image but with long database operations javscript trick doesnt works.
    Any thoughts???
    Thanks in advance.

There is one little sneaky trick that might work, but I'm not sure if this will work all the time. Here's what you do:
    1. page where you fill in a form to store in the database or something. Hit submit
    2. submit to a simple JSP page which has the text you want to show the user, plus all the submitted data in hidden inputs. in the body tag, add an onLoad='document.formname.submit();' to submit the hidden input fields to the page that does the database action.
The old page SHOULD stay visible until the database operations are completed, as long as you don't generate ANY output before the database transactions are complete... but again don't shoot me if it doesn't (or better yet, shoot the browser for clearing the display buffer to soon) :-)

  • MSI GE60 Windows 8 - Please Wait Problem

    Hello.
I've been an MSI Notebook GE60 user for around 4 months now.
I bought this laptop in Stockholm, Sweden in July and one day after purchase it has this problem. Every time I would turn on the PC from a shutdown, sleep or  hibernate and also if I locked the screen with win + L a "Please Wait" with a loading circle would appear for 30 minutes...until I could finally log back on. I turned the laptop into the store where I purchased it and after a couple of hours the tech guys checking it for problems. They told me that it was caused by hardware problems and not by ME. So...They took the laptop back in and told me that I could get my money back due to the law in Sweden. With that money I buy the same type of laptop. A MSI GE60.
Now it is August 28 of 2013 and Im having the same problem...THE SAME PROBLEM...
I am so pissed and angry at this point. I am furious with rage.
I buy a a very good and expensive laptop with money I have worked hard for and I GET THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN???  THIS IS totally unacceptable.
I live in South America, Argentina. And I go to school, this problem cannot continue. I cannot wait 30 minutes every time I open my pc from sleep mode. I cannot shut it down and open it up again (it works fine then, but i lose all my work etc..)
I have scanned the computer with sfc /scannow and also run all troubleshooting options.
Scanned for virus's. Possibly everything that can be done. HOWEVER, this problem goes away when I run in safe mode. What can this mean?
I'm seriously demanding a refund if this is a hardware problem from MSI once again. I'm really sad about this, this is a great laptop, but the same problem occuring twice...? Come on..
    Thanks for reading.
I hope someone gets in contact with me.

I tried both solutions. They did not fix the problem.
    Hi D..!
I am sorry to hear that.
You ran sfc and dism as administrator? And I take it that you have removed hibernation and use the fastest powerplan? Anything in the logs that point you in the right direction?
Since you bought the GE60 in Sweden you are covered by Swedish consumer laws that is even better than in my country Denmark, because you have at least 2 years of warranty! Use that and turn the nb in where you bought it!
This GE60 is my first computer that is not Asus and less than Win-8, and I am not an expert in MSI and Win-8. However there are some very clever and able people in this forum, so keep on pushing this item until you find the right solution!
    Hope you will succeed!

  • I cant register cloud on my 58L4300U "loading, please wait" message comes up and does nothing

So i bought this TV for myself just yesterday, and after goign through all the setup, i pressed the cloud button to get into cloud. it takes me to the introduction step, where i have to set device name, icon, wallpaper, and then the next step is to create account.
BUT when i set my device name and press next, a message "Loading Please wait" shows up on the top left corner of the screen for maybe about 10 seconds. Then the message goes away, and guess what. Nothing happens.
Im literally stuck at this stage, can't proceed and cannot use cloud service!

  • "loading data. please wait." message on flash charts after releasing to 3.1

We are experiencing "loading data. please wait." message on all flash charts after exporting our app from dev (3.1.2) where all of the charts work fine and importing it into prod (3.1.2) where the message occurs.
A work-around has been found by resetting the #HOST# variable in charts' regions' source code
    from:
    XMLFile=#HOST#apex_util.flash?
    to:
XMLFile=<physical URL of the production app>apex_util.flash?
Obviously this is an ugly work-around and requires a lot of work every time we do a release because it gets overwritten back to #HOST# with ever import (we have quite a few flash charts).
Any suggestions, or rumors when this "bug" will be fixed?
    Thank You
    Boris

    Hello,
Take a look at this thread and see if it addresses your problem -

    BTW it's not really a 'bug' ;)

  • Question about Page Builder behavior - how to get a "please wait message" ?

    Hi all together,
I got a question about Portal Framework / Page Buider handling iView Integration.
We are working with a lot of App Integrator iViews and often the pages includes with app integrator are loading longer than the rest of the portal. So there is the idea to put in a "please wait while loading message" for the enduser.
I analysed the html code, the page builder is generating and foud out 3 diffrent approaches how the page buider is rendering the IFRAME with the integrated application configured with an app integrator iView.
My question is how can I influence this behavior to put a "please wait while loading message"?
Different types of iView integration in the client I have seen:
    a) direct loading of the content in the IFRAME (<iframe id="" ... scr="/mysource">)
    b) Filling the iframe with 'about:blank' and loading the content later by filling a form with JS
         ( <iframe id="" .... scr="about:blank">and after the iframe  <form id="" action="mysource" ...>
    c) Filling the iframe with a html file from the portal layout and loading the content later by filling a form with JS (similar to b)
         ( <iframe id=""" ....scr="/irj/portalapps/com.sap.test.mylayout/html/blank.html>
I checked that variant b) is getting generated when loading a page with different components on the side (not only the app integrator iview) and variant c) is generated when just one app integrator iView is positioned (no portal page).
Goal: To get the "please wait picture" I want to know how to get variant c) in cases of different elements on one page
So I would be able to put this picture on the HTML-Page in the Portal layout (blank.html)
Hope, someone with a deep portal / page builder know-how can help me out!
Another way: Does anybody knows another way how to put a "please wait message" while app integrator application is not loaded yet?
Thanks in Advance and kind regards,
    Jens

    Hi Jens,
there are several reasons why you don't get the loading animation:
Web Dynpro ABAP: https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1432358 -> missing configuration
Wrong height size for iView: https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1358494 -> alter configuration of the iFrame height (loading animation gets displayed, but is hidden)
FPN, BSP, BEx: https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1290995 -> AI isn't showing the animation because of performance considerations. I guess that is your case. Depending on your portal version this is a simple service configuration or involves some customization.

  • Wolfenstein: The New Order message "please wait while downloadable content is being validated"

When starting Wolfenstein:The New Order, the game goes through all the publisher/developer title screens and goes briefly to the standard loading screen then the screen goes totally black. If I press a button on the controller, the game shows the "Loading profile" prompt with the spinning circle. Soon after the message is replaced with "Please wait while downloadable content is being validated".  Here is where the game just hangs forever. I have left it on this screen for over an hour and nothing happens. I contacted Bethesda support and they sent me here saying it is a PSN issue.  I have already tried uninstalling and deleting all save games, etc. but the problem persists even on a non-patched game. This started happening on Sunday and I have already played the game through once and was on second playthrough and this is the first time I have encountered the problem. Greetings!Thank you for contacting Bethesda Technical Support.
The issue you are experiencing may be related to PSN and/or Internet connectivity. Please make sure that you were signed into PSN and online when trying to run the game as it needs to validate the downloadable content. If for some reason this issue persists you will need to contact Sony support for your PS4 as the validation process is ran by them on their end and not an issue we can investigate.Warm Regards,
The Bethesda Technical Support Team. From what I can tell, I am signed in to PSN since I can access the store and see my trophies and friends online. When I signed out and signed back in, I did get a message about not being able to reconnect but it did eventually. I have done extensive searches on the web and I don't see anyone else having this issue.

I am having the same exact problem. I got this game from gamefly last week and it did it. I told gamefly they sent me an entirely different game and it still is hanging up at the validating dlc screen, a wheel just continues to spin and nothing happens. My interent is fine and I am connected to PSN as I too can see that my friends are onine.

  • How do i reverse a download? the little center is turning & it says "loading, please wait". it's been doing this for several hours & I don't know how to stop it.

I was downloading add ons; i let it wait until i left the site to load, but it's been running & showing the center spinning & "loading, please wait; it's been doing this for several hours & i don't know to stop or disable it

There is a rectangular white box between the top & bottom of the screen with no buttons on it. The wheel turns with 'loading, please wait'. There is a little arrow on the upper left with 2 green & gold 'men'. When I click on it this message shows up on the screen "Please accept the Terms of Service first (Add a social network). The only way I can get the wheel to quit turning is to go to 'tools' & click on options & it stops turnning. I already had a yahoo, facebook & twitter accounts, so I don't know what to do.
I've checked in my Control Panel & there is nothing with Firefox in there. If I can't resolve this can someone tell me to how to unload all of this & start over.
    Thanks.
