Plotting of graph with more than 4000 data points in Excel

Hi All,
I am fairly new to labview world. I am trying to plot out line graphs of the results from my program into Excel worksheet. I have huge set of data points(10000) stored in each of 10 different worksheets in MS Excel workbook. I am trying to compile results into last sheet as graphical representation of all the various dataset into 10 different graphs.
My problem is that I am getting error because MS Graph does not allow me to plot more than 4000 rows or datapoints. Is there better and cleaner way of programming this? Or if some one can provide an example of how to handle such case. I'll appreciate any help.
My goal is to able to plot one set of data 1st then I will be able to run through various worksheets to compile into standalone results.
ERROR MESSAGE: "Report Generation Toolkit: Graphs you create or edit in Microsoft Graph cannot contain more than 4,000 rows or columns, including row and column headers. "
Also for example if we run Line Graph example and change the # of data points from 100 to 4000, we get same message.
Error -41114 occurred at NI_ReportGenerationToolkit.lvlib:Excel_Insert_Chart.vi -> NI_Excel.lvclass:Excel Insert Graph.vi -> Line Graph (Excel).vi
Thanks,
Saurabh

Hi Dennis,
I am collecting waveform data from oscilloscope using labview in both data & graph format. So my program collects data for a particular operating condition & then saves the data on a worksheet. After it loads new operating condition & goes over same cycle. I have to save all the data points in excel for different use cases, which I am saving in different worksheet for each specific operating condition.
Since I already have data saved in excel at the end of test, I am trying plot each use case in the same report for study & presentaion after tests are finished. I have not been able to do so. I read the post which you have mentioned, seems like newer excel or labview version have same issue. I am using LV 9.0
I will try using decimation but if you have any better way of handling this problem, I'll appreciate if you can share that.
Thanks for your help.

in my excel, which i have attached, there's all data with about 11000 row.
i want to use it to plot a graph and i kinda stuck at here where there is this limit of 4000 row? and i can't seem to get the header i have link in the block diagram to the graph either.

  • Formating Line thickness for lines in graphs with more than 6 lines.

I have a line graph with more than 6 lines on it and I'm trying to make them all 1px.
I can specify a line thickness for the first 6 lines but after that, the lines go back to the default thickness.
Is it possible to change the default line thickness for a graph or format the line thickness for the 7th line and more?

Good news! I found out how to format more than 6 lines of data and it's really simple to do!
In the bottom left hand corner of the Format Chart Data, next to the Clear All button, is a button marked ADD.
If you click this button, another row is added allowing you to format the 7th line of data.
Click again and you get a row for the 8th line and keep clicking to add more lines.
I'm making a note of it here in case it is useful to someone out there who searches on this problem in the future.

  • Create a logical column with more than one data source

I'm having a problem to create a logical column with more than one data source in Siebel 7.8.
What I want to do is the union of 2 physical tables in one logical table.
For example, I have a "local_clients" table and a "abroad_clients" table. What I want is to have a logical table "clients" with the client data from the 2 tables.
What I've tried is dragging the datasources I need onto the logical column.
However this isn't working because it only retrieves the data from the first data source.

    Hi!
I think it is not possible to do this just by dragging the columns to the logical table. A logical table can have more than one source, but I think each column must have just one direct source column.
I'm not sure, but maybe you should do the UNION SQL to get the data of the two tables. In the physical layer, when you create a new physical table, it's possible to set the "table type" as a "SELECT". I didn't try that, but it seems that it's possible to have the union table in the physical layer.
    Bye.

Helena, I think you might get a better response either from the SQL-PL/SQL forum, or perhaps the Portal Applications forum - both of these tend to have folks very familiar with PL/SQL and the OWA packages.
This forum is on Web services based on SOAP, WSDL and UDDI. These can be PL/SQL based but typically don't use the mod_psql or OWA web solution.
As a pointer, I suspect you may already be familiar with, but just in case, you can always take a look at chapter 3 of the OAS documentation, "Developer's Guide: PL/SQL and ODBC Applications" where they go through a number of examples using parameters. See:
    http://technet.oracle.com/doc/appsrvr4082/guides/plsql.pdf
Hope this or folks from the other list can help.

  • Reports 9i Graphs with more than one query..

    Hello,
I am converting my 6i reports to 9i reports. On my graph reports with more than one query, when I invoke the graph wizard it changes the value of the src to the wrong query automatically. When I run my report, I am getting the error REP-0069 Internal Error rwlib-1: REP-6219 Column (Column Name) not in given cursor hierarchy. Although it's a pretty easy fix to go into the graph settings in the property palette and change it back, it is extremely frustrating. Has anyone else ran into this problem and did you find a permanent fix?
    Thanks,
    Laura

    Hi Laura
One workround would be to create a new query in the Data Model that includes desired fields, and then source
    chart to the new group.
FYi, bug2527100 was filed on this issue and is already fixed. The fix would be available in 9i Reports 9.0.2.2 patch. Reports 9.0.2.2 patch is scheduled to be released on Mar 05 2003 (tentative date).
    Thanks

  • IT0041 - employee with more than 12 date types;

Has anyone had an instance where an employee has had more than 12 valid Date Types on IT0041?  If so, how did you enter their 13th date type?  We have just created our 12th date type in the table and we will probably be creating a 13th date type in the near future.  We have a number of employees who already use 11 date types and could use the 2 new ones as well.  I tried to create a new Subtype for my new Date Type - but the new Subtype requires that Date Type 01 be entered.  I am not comfortable with having two identical Date Type 01s in IT0041 (one on Subtype 0001 and one on Subtype 0098).
Has anyone used more than one Subtype on IT0041?

Thank you for your responses.  I don't think changing the Time Constraint class is the best solution for our organization.  We did look at that option.  I don't want to have multiple valid records; I want the ability to have more than 12 date types (values) on one record.  Also, if we allow more than one record, SAP forces us to have Date Type 01 on both valid records - I would be concerned that these values may not match, and then Time Eval would bomb.
I'm also still curious if anyone has used more than one Subtype on IT0041?  Again, we did try this, but SAP forces a Date Type 01 on both Subtypes.

I have a requirement to display more than 4000 characters (clob, long data type) through sql.

I can use intermediate pl/sql processing if needed.

  • PL/SQL process returning message with more than 4000 chars

In our apex application we are using a pl/sql process returning a message.
This message should be shown to the user.
Our problem is now, that the application items in APEX seem to be limited to 4000 chars and the message can be longer.
We are also not able to use a collection, because we can't print the content of a collection in the "Process Success Message".
Here is the content of a page process which is running on page load after header:
Name - Type:     PL/SQL anonymous block
    Source - Process: :AI_TEST := p0001_pkg.get_text;
Messages - Process Success Message: &AI_TEST.
    Image from process [https://twitter.com/OliverLemm/status/324058809138032640/photo/1/large]
If the page is called the result is this error message:

no an item like P0_TEST on page 0 / global page also does not help.
But the error is not the application item / page item it's the problem that the "Process Success Message" can't handle more than 4000 chars.
I tried to paste a string into the process success message, but the error "Error processing row. ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column" occured even when i filled the textarea and saved the process.
So there's no problem with the application item or page item.

  • Line chart with more than 15 data series - color problem

    Hi all,
I've built a line chart with 32 data series (user can control, which of them are displayed at a time). For series 16 to 32 I did manipulate the URL in the browser directly, because Application Express does only display parametrs for up to 15 series. This works fine so far except of displaying the colors. For each sieries I defined a different color. 29 of my 32 series are displayed in the desired color. But series 29, 31 and 32 are displayed in a default-color (#0099CC). It seems that this is a SVG-problem. In the SVG-source I find the wrong color. When I export my application, I see the right color.
    Thanks for help,
    Chris

    Hello,
Which version of APEX are you using?
Go to your Flash Chart attributes - get into your series (click the icon) in the section of Series Query you'll find the maximum rows.

  • Binding with more than one data sources

So i have this table bound to a data source (call it A) and in it i have BID(Books ID) and UID (User ID). I don't want the table to show these numbers, i want it to show the name of the book coresponding to BID (and this name is in another table) and the name of the user coresponding to UID (this is also in another table). So, for this i have modified the SQL statement and added WHERE clauses and it all worked fine. Up to a point at least. After that, whenever i tried to make changes to A and the tables where the book names and user names are, i got a "Number of conflicts while synchronizing:" error. So i was thinking perhaps there is another way to bind the BID and UID to those specific names without the help of an SQL statement. Can anyone help?

Any possibilty of posting your SQL code? And which database are you using?

  • Wireless Roaming with more than one access point

    Dear All,
I am trying to set up roaming access points around my home. My main router is the Hub 3 and what I am doing is setting the SSID and channel i want on the hub 3 then setting the same SSID on the additional access point (WNR1000v3) and disabling DHCP on the additional access point and setting a static IP and a different channel to the one  on the hub 3.
The problem I am getting is that my devices (android smartphone and tablet) will either only connect to one of the access points when I am near it and then when I go to the area that the hub 3 is in it drops the connection.
I want to know why this is happening because at another house where I work I have additional access points broadcasting the same SSID as the home hub 2! which works.
Please could someone tell me why this is happening and what I can do to prevent it.

    Thanks for the reply Keith,
But why does it not allow for Roaming?
There is an internal Ethernet switch which routes the Ethernet frames to a specific device MAC address, via the wireless module, or the LAN ports, but not both.
Once a device MAC address appears on the LAN side, all frames are routed to that interface, until the physical interface is disconnected.
That prevents the same MAC address connecting to the wireless interface.
Universal wireless repeaters do not have that problem, as all connections take place on the wireless interface.

  • Line Chart with more than 15 datapoints

    I'm using Apex 3.1.
I am trying to create a line chart with more than 15 data points. Apparently 15 is the default. Question is, How do I change the default?

But I've been through all the application property pages, much of the documentation, and several tutorials... Where can I change this? It's driving me nuts!
