Pls help! Stub/JSP

i generated a stub out of a web service using Jdeveloper. how do i invoke the stub in jsp? urgent!!!! pls help!!! thanks!!!

Another way would be to embed the code from your stub into a code section in your JSP.

Instead of l;ogic:iterate can I use directly getattribute(p1)? <logic:iterate
Still I m doubting I can not utilize columnsVO file in logic:iterate, I can utilize only formbean file.

May I ask why have you done it?
If it is related to printing of the list then it is of no use.But it IS of use. The objects compEmployees is in scope.
It has the list we want to print out.

Unknown problem with JSP, JavaScript - Pls help

Hi Friends,
I am facing a strange problem. Explained it below. Kindly help me as it is really affecting my work. Thanks in advance.
I am working on building a web application using jsp, servlet, ejb. the IDE used is WSAD 5.1.2.
I have the below :
1 JSP - Input page - for user input entry
2. Java script1 - For all client side validations
Java script2 - For handling the data submission to servlet (as selected by user)
Javascript3 - Header & Menu Bar
3 Servlet - This actually retrieves the values from the hidden parameters, sets them in session and redirects the control back to the jsp.
Logic for one small iteration : Two drop downs are there. On selecting the first drop down the second drop down should be populated and the first drop down should display the user selected value.
1. When the user selects the first drop down onchange() event gets fired which calls a method in the javascript.
2. In the javascript I set the value of a hidden form field to the selected combo index and submit the form to the servlet
3. In the servlet, I retrieve the hidden request parameter (Index),
set the index in session. Do my business logic based on the value of the index. Set the collection (to be displayed) in second drop down in session.
4. Send the response back to the JSP.
5. In the JSP, we have a method which is called during the onload() event of the body
6. This method sets the user selected values in appropriate controls(by taking from session)
Problem faced: I have a javascript which creates the menu bar for my application and this i've included it in my jsp. I dont know whats wrong with this javascript, when it is commented out the page works perfectly fine. Both the user selected value and the collection are loaded exactly as expected. But when it is included the collection is loaded in the second drop down but the selected index of the first drop down is not set - the drop down gets reset to the default value.
Also on body load of my jsp, I call a javascript method which sets the current date in one text field of my form. Even this is not working fine when I include this javascript. I don't see any script error in this javascript in my browser though. Strange but guess something basic :(
I'm sure there is nothing to do with session. I've tried printing the entire flow. The Servlet sets the values correctly in session and they are also correctly available in the JSP page. The JSP also gets loaded with the user selected values but something happens on page load which clears the values to default.
Am also confused in what way javascript is related to this, coz when I remove it things are working fine.
Am really helpless here pls do the needful. any help is appreciated.

A problem in RMI with JSP..pls help

RMI with Java is working fine,but...
1. I am facing a problem when i use RMI with JSP..its throwing an exception during "Naming.lookup"..here is my code snippet:

Pls help Session manipulation in Jsp

Hi,
In JSP, I wanna check whether user has logged in, but it doesn't work, could you pls help?
I guess the reason is I didn't initiate session attribute of userid. If it is true, could u pls tell me how to do that?
or, how to know the attribute not set yet?

Do something like session.setAttribute("userid",sUserId); during login.

Make it something like

hi every1, can some1 pls help me. the situation is:- when someone renewed a book the date_Return has to be increased by 7 days.
to test i'm using the following:-

built-in date functionality. If date_Return is a date datatype
in your DBMS then there should be a function to add a number of
days to it. For example, in Sybase, you could write your UPDATE

Hi guys (very urgent pls help me out)

i have an doubt that iam using JBoss AS, my scienraio is
inital when start my Application Server it will connects to mysql DB datasource, i will retrieve some values those are DB Names like oracle,sql server,db2 etc in my JSP page iam placed at combo box upto this i am very much successful but now my problem is after gettinh those values in html select box.
if user selects Oracle and in the same screen user can enter connection config details and after submitting the request. At runtime App Server want to connect for that particular Database.
for ex Oracle and its connection parameters then it want to connect that particular Database without restarting the server.
so mysql is internal DB and Oracle is external db. how to manage this scienraio
please anyone knows solution, pls help me out......

I managed to get ultrasearch running now. The crawling process seems to run smooth. Executing a search gives me the correct result. However, i can not display the documents that are listed in the resultpage.
The link to the document is like this:
http://myportal/pls/portal/display.jsp?type=file&f_url=C:\ultra_docs\sultan\filetransfer\htc\site.doc
The path in the url seems ok to me.
Cliking on this link gives me the following error:
The requested URL /pls/portal/display.jsp was not found on this server.
Please, help me out here :/

I just tested it by accessing the search page with the following url:
http://myportal/ultrasearch/query/search.jsp
This gives me the same result and the links to the actual documents work fine now too! But it is not working from within portal, the links generated by the ultrasearch portlet give me an error.

Urgent: Sessions problem pls help me

Its already late to post this problem.pls help me urgently.
I have a servlet & two jsp's. first i request servlet, it processes something and forwards request to my first jsp. In that jsp on a button click, i'm displaying a new popup by calling showModalDialog. this dialog gets data from the same servlet but it forwards to my second jsp.(second jsp can be seen in dialog)
Now if i submit form from my second(dialog) jsp, the servlet reports that session has expired. I tried a lot but invain. any one who helps me is appreciated well by all of our forum.

It could be that you have cookies turned off and you're not using URL Rewriting.
In J2EE, the first time your browser makes a request to the server, the server responds and appends a SESSION_ID parameter to the request as well as storing a cookie with the SESSION_ID.
The second time your browser makes a request, the server checks for the cookie. If it doesn't exist it checks for the parameter. If neither exist the server assumes its the first time your browser has made a request and behaves as describe in the previous paragraph.
In your case when you submit the form if you have disabled cookies and the action attribute doesn't have the SESSION_ID paramter appended to the url, the browser will assume it's a first request. The user will not be logged in, hence your session has expired error.
To fix this you need to encode the URL in your JSP. You can use the struts html:rewrite tag or the HttpServletReponse.encodeURL method, or if you're using JSP 2.0 the JSTL c:url tag.

Bear in mind that your 'Excel' format is really just delimited data and a pure ASCII file, which doesn't support the type of highlighting that you're requesting.
In 9i you can use jsp technology to embed reports data directly into an Excel spreadsheet. In this case you could probably also include either an Excel macro, or execute some java code that highlighted the appropriate row/values.

Also, be sure to put 'tabs' - \t not spaces between the columns you want to create. Otherwise, each line will be formatted into one column.
