PM Notification and Order

Hi all,
I am new to PM and like to know:
1. How many Orders can be generated for a single notification.
2. how many notification can be attached to one order.

Notification is like you are giving what happened,i mean suppose you are working on some machine,suddenly it is down ,on that time you are informing to certain department to machine down and also you have facility like down reason and what causes may be, and part may be damaged or effected etc so you can generate order through notification only one possible,because you are in first step of processing
Order is nothing but according to notification you are sending to order to perticular department to this machine down and this parts may need and service is need this machine and parts may be procure for perticular technical object ,thease all functions are you do
suppose some times you are sending same department or same machine order you can send group of notification in one order in objet tab in order creation screeen

1. Functional Location
2. Equipment
3. Material
4. Serial Number
Configuration setting for overview of notification type doesn't have the option to capture all the above fields.
I am able to get all fields except Functional Location...

Anil,
I have just been looking at this same requirement.
Unfortunately you can only use the standard options for reference objects which does not allow for your requirement.
There are no user-exits/BADIs either, you would need to build a new screen and screen-logic which is a system modification.
The best I could do within the standard system is to include these fields on the Enhancement tab (user-exit IWO10018) or build a bespoke front-end via ABAP or HTML. GUIXT is another option.

Shop Paper for Notification and Order

Hi All,
I have assigned shop paper for both Notification and Order. Now when I am trying to print the Order or Notification via Maintenance Order or Notification respectively, both the outputs are in the selectable mode since order is created from notification.
But user wants that when he is trying to print Order only shop paper for Order should be in selectable mode and same for Notification. I checked the configuration settings for this but could not find anything.
Are there any settings where we can achieve this.

OK...try this:
in OIDB (notification) remove the selection check for all generic entries - this determines what is shown when you try to print. For example, if you have a setting for doc.type = * and it is checked for selection, each of those will appear when you print. By removing this selection check for doc type = *, it won't appear for yours. You should put a line there for your doc type with the selection checked. If you put a second line there for your doc type without the 'selection' checked - it will show, but be optional when you do a print.
In OIDG (work order), follow the same logic. Once you print the order, it will propose to print the notification as well (either selected or just available). Also, i think you should link the notification and order types in work order config.
This works when you are printing a work order, but i'm not sure if you can print the work order from the notification. I just tried this in my system and did get the notifications to print while printing the work order using the settings i've mentioned.

Mass loading of Notifications and orders

Dear Experts,
We want to create notifications and maintenance order in bulk ie nearly 500 nos each for the next financial year in advance . Is there is any standard transactions to carry out this. Please advice whether we can upload from a excel and what are the mandatory fields and data we need to maintain for uploading for notifications and orders .

You can use the LSMW recording method for uplaoding the notification and orders.Create recording for notification and order creation which will grab all neccessary fields.Preapre the flat file or u can maintain the excel file for data preparation afterwrads you can copy same to flat file and uplaod the same.

Relation between notification and order

Hi,
In the notification table QMEL, you have a field AUFNR which corresponds to thr order's number.
But an order can have a principal notification, and other notifications attached to it ( throw the tab objects in iw21/iw22 ).
How to identify the principal notification of an order ??

You can look for a combination of QMNUM,QMART & AUFNR in the Table QMEL.

Notification and order

Hi every one,
In my project we are having notification which is raised by production dept and order is prcessed by engineers. Now i m not getting in SAP we user iw21 to create notification and from there only we can create work order. I m not getting how to restrict production guy from creation of order bcaz screen is same he can create notification and the sam time he can create order also. What is solution for this. Kindly help me in this.

It is very simple ask authorizations team to block the tocde Iw31 in PFCG roles
they can block the tcodes in the roles of production
even if they want to create order direclty or from notification they cannot create

The production (prvovided IW3* authorization blocked) user clicks the Order button, System throws error - Not authorized.
As maintenance Engineers are authorized for IW3*, they can create direct order by (IW31) or wrt notifiction (IW34)
Follow the above steps and run a cycle then revert back with observations

Long Text not transfered from Notification to Order

Hi Experts,
We have 4.6 c version where in the Long Text from Notification created does not gets transfereed to Order if Order is created through Notification.
Does any one knows about any config missing or any note which needs to be applied.
Also if we go for E.C.C 6.0 do we need to maintain the config
Plant Maintenance and Customer Service->Maintenance and Service Processing->Maintenance and Service Order >Functions and Settings for Order Types>Define Notification and Order Integration
instead of or in addition to the config
Plant Maintenance and Customer Service->Maintenance and Service Processing->Maintenance and Service Notifications >Notification Creation>Notification Types-->Assign Notification Types to Order Types

Link Between Service Notification and Sales Order

Hi All,
In our business process, we will create sales order from Service Notification and we can see the same in the Document flow. But when i check in the VBFA table, there are no entries. I would like to know how the document flow is updated without updating the VBFA Table or is there any other table gets updated for this flow.

For one Sales Order # figures in Notification header table- VIQMEL-VBELN.
Similarly Notification # figures in Sales Order Header table- VBAK-QMNUM
That is a solid link right there.
I Also guess technical objects like Equipment, Serial number also form link between the Sales and Service Documents.
Also check out the logic in document flow program RIBELF20, may be it will give you the clues to the problem.

Then you can go to your sandbox SPRO and try the configuration.
For note question, I am not sure whether I understand it correctly. If you want to automatically create MR from the note that you put in notification. There is not configuration for that. you need an enhancement.

User status for Notification and Work order

We generate Service Notification IW26. I have already configured user status like PMND (Planning order not done), AWOP (Awaiting ordered parts) etc. in the Work order a while ago. Now the user wants same User status to the Notification as well. I like to know from experts what is the value added to have the same user status for both Notification and Work Order?
Do you have any suggestions?

The customer intent behind this requirement must be to check in reporting / List Display Transaction about the Order Status. If they want to know looking at a Pending Notification List about the Order Status, you can always provide similar report using SAP Query Builder or with help of your Developer.
Apart from that If the Requirement is to have these User Statuses in Notification itself, Please advice them that it will be extra activity while performing transaction.
I dont see any other benefit of having User Statuses added to Notification as well.
Do let me know if you have some more info on Why Customer is requesting this....

Check preconditions for archiving notification :
1) The notification has been marked as u201Ccompletedu201D in Change Notification.
To archive notifications, go to transaction SARA. The archiving object for Notification is NM_QMEL.
Click on the Write button in the initial screen of Archive Administration to start an archive session of archiving notifications.

How to access top gray bar in order to put notifications and icons in it?

Replication of quotation and order from CRM to ECC

Hi experts,
We are trying to replicate a quotation and order created in CRM to ECC. We have maintained the same transaction types and item categories in both ECC and CRM. Is there anything else that is required to be done for proper replication??
Now while trying to replicate, we are getting this error: "Partners from account group 0005 are not permitted for partner function BP (Notification E VPD 000)"
How to solve this??

We maintained Partners from account group 0005 for partner function BP. Now we are again getting these errors:
u2022     Account Assigment Object Successfully Assigned to Item 0000000010 (Notification S C( 312)
u2022     SALES_HEADER_IN has been processed successfully (Notification S V4 233)
u2022     The sales document is not yet complete: Edit data (Notification W V1 555)
u2022     Sales document 0005000080 was not changed (Notification E V4 219)
u2022     Status "Obsolete status" of material 101123900 does not allow external procurement (Notification E ME 053)
u2022     Error in SALES_ITEM_IN 000010 (Notification E V4 248)
Is there any place where we can check the notifications??

Partner function not copied from notification to order

hi
i am using same partner determination procedure for notification and service order. i have defined some new partner functions in the procedure. the problem i'm facing is that only the partner functions which are made mandatory are getting copied from notifictaion to order. however i cannot make all the partner functions mandatory because they may not be relevant for all cases.
is this common behaviour of system and if so is there any solution (without making partner functions mandatory)

This is a Standard Functionality . You can try using the below USER-EXIT for your requirement.
EXIT_SAPLV09A_002:
Use this is customer has to be maintained to a specific sales area.
EXIT_SAPLV09A_003:
This suits more of your requirement.
INCLUDE ZXV09U03 - Add your code to copy the specific partner alone to the Doucment if it is an NOTIFICATION TO ORDER alone.
This is used to control the orgin of partners in the Partner determination procedure..

Propagate long text from order to notification, notification to order

Hi Experts!
Like in subject I want to propagate long text from PM order to PM notification and the other way round. If text will be changed in one document it should be changed in second too.
Have you any idea how to do that?

If these are two different fields having different data elements then I dont think its possible until and unless they both have the same data element...
if they have the same data element I think you can keep the long text for the data element and it will reflect both the sides...
