PMS Unlocking Appraisal documents

Hi all
We like to unlock all the locked appraisal documents for every half an hour.
For the above functionality our ABAPer has written a Z program to unlock all the appraisal documents and wanted it to be scheduled for every half an hour.
Functionality of the above program.
1) Go to Tcode PHAP_ADMIN and execute.
2) Go to the tab Goto-> Locked appraisal documents, Then it will show all the locked appraisal documents.
3) Select all the locked appraisal documents and then press unlock, then all the appraisal documents will be unlocked.
The same above functionality is incorporated the program, so if it is scheduled for every half an hour,then the appraisal documents will be open to the employees for every half an hour.
As the process is not any way related to SM12 TCode (which consists of all the locked objects),the other objects other than Appraisal documents will not be unlocked.
Goto-> Locked appraisal documents is only specific for the appraisal documents.
But as per our knowledge SAP Standard is unlocking all the appraisal documents for every one hour.
If we schedule this Z Program for every half an hour, then both the standard and the Z Program will clash for every hour which is not required.
Can any one tell me where to change that one hour limit to half an hour in the standard it self.
or will there be any problem if both the programs clashes for every hour
Please let me know how SAP Unlocks the Appraisal Documents for every hour, (Using a background job or Is it a configuration)If it is a background job please let me know the standard job, so that we can change the time of the standard job.

I have searched the Tcode RZ11, there for the parameter what you have specified, the value is 1800 seconds.
But when I observed in the system, I have logged in to the portal, we are displaying the appraisal document through a custom BSP application.I opened the appraisal document, then in the back end it is locked, after that I have kept the portal session idle for 1 hour. Later after 1 hour I have noticed that the appraisal document was unlocked but the portal session is still active(not Auto logged off). By this observation I think that there might be no connection between auto logoff parameter and Unlocking appraisal documents.
I have gone through other parameters in the table TPFYPROPTY, but I couldn't able to find out the actual parameter.
I think the parameter might be of the type Enqueue, because it is regarding locking.
Can you please help me out in this issue or provide me any document related to the parameters and their working.

PMS Logging Appraisal document changes

Hi Experts,
We are letting both manager and manager's manager to change the final rating. One of our requirement is to log the changes made in final rating column so that when we can track who had changed the rating and what was the previous rating.
Is this by default possible or we need to enable logging at template configuration level?

As we have selected speical and detaild option, used SLG1 transaction to check the log it only shows the changed by and date , i want to see the objectives entered and changed as well.
Is there a way to check this.

Appraisal document not trigerring to the part appraiser ID

Hi All,
In PMS,the appraisal document is not triggering to the part appraiser's ID.It is triggering to the direct manager (appraiser ID),but the document is not visible to the part appraiser.Can anybody throw some light on the issue.Help is highly appreciated.

Hi,
Why would you want to do this? This is dangerous and can cause major inconsistencies. The standard unlocks in the web after 30 minutes as per default, but thats a configuration setting.
I would not recommend to have this report running in a productive environment.

Unable to view the appraisal document in PMS

Hi,
We have upgraded our system from 7.01 to 7.4 and ECC from EHP4 to EHP7.
After upgrade we are not able to open the appraisal document from
Appraisal Inbox (Performance management) page/Employee & Reviewer Inbox
page but getting blank screen.
We had refer the note 1600380, according to the note we had checked the objects in all pages mentioned.
But then also unable to view the appraisal document.
Refer the attachment.
Kindly guide us to resolve the issue.

Hi ,
Before upgrade it was working fine, There is no change in the authorisation in the backend.
Kindly specify what kind of authorisation are required, so that we can check at our level.
No error messages and logs are generated related to this.

PMS - OSA: Creation of appraisal document

While creating the appraisal document we have to mention "validity period" and "execution period".
Kindly explain the difference between the both periods.
1. Do we need to mention validity period and execution period same, while creating appraisal document?.
2. In which scenario we can mention different validity period and execution period, while creating appraisal document?.

Hi Harish,
1. Validation Period refers to the period of the appraisal. For example, you may create an appraisal document for an employee for his/hers performance in the year of 2013 - in that case the validation period may be 01.01.2013 until 31.12.2013.
You may refer to the Validation Period as the BEGDA and ENDDA of the appraisal document (similar to HR Infotypes).
The execution period is the period in which the appraiser can access the document and assess the appraisee. For Example, you can determine the Execution Period as 01.09.2014 - 30.09.2014 -in that case the appraiser/s can edit the document only in these dates.
2. Validation Period is mandatory. Execution Period is optional.

Is it possible to lock an appraisal document?

One of the client requirement is to lock the incomplete appraisal document from editing. Is there a function available to lock the document from editing? Does any one know how to do it?.

Hi Terence,
I think you are looking for a more permanent lock on the document.
What you can do is make sure you have a status or sub-status configured for the appraisal template. This is configured on the status_flow tab.
For this custom status you would make sure the Person Authorized is some Role other than the appraiser / appraisee. You can configure a custom role.
You would basically jerry-rig the template so that when the document is moved into that sub-status neither the appraiser / appraisee can move the document forward or backward, and you make the document have a read-only status.
Than to make this work, when the documents are live, a performance management adminstrator can go into phap_admin and manually mass move all the document status to the limbo status you configured. Once you want to unlock it again, the adminstrators would move it back to a document status that then gives the appraisee or appraiser control on the document.

Appraisal documents access control

Hi All
i am working on PMS in EHP 6 environment.As per configuration , the participants of the appraisal documents are employee , appraiser and reviewer. Our requirement is such , we want HR admin to have the change access to the appraisal document. The documents are available in the queue of the participants on portal. Can we have these documents in the HR Admin queue with the change access to it. If yes , please suggest how can we proceed further.

ESS EHP5: Appraisal document not working

Hi,
I am implementing performance appraisal (EHP5 and BP ESS 1.50) and am sorting out the very confusing scenario of EHP4 and EHP5 versions of appraisal documents. I am using the pmp version EHP5 and BP ESS 1.50 (BP ESS 1.41 not installed). I did basic setting in Object Setting and Apprsaisals (repla = X) and created a category and a basic template (Do I need to do this if I use the predefined version?).
But when I run the iViews, I got a system dump from the pmp version ...
Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible
Error Code: ICF-IE-http .....RABAX_STATE -e: OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED_NO
I checked sap note 1319829 but our basis guy said we are ok with sap basis level (level 7)
... and this error from the flexible version:
The Web Dynpro application was called up with the wrong URL parameters
I checked some related notes about OBN configuration but they are only for EHP4. I've very little about EHP5. And from what i found, the EHP5 PMP version already takes care of OBN configuration in the iviews and launchpads.
BF and extension sets are all on as far as I can see.
My questions are: is BP ESS 1.4 needed to run appraisal for EHP5? Is Object setting configuration needed for EHP5 (predefined) which is abap based, since whe I tried the template (web layout), it shows BSP sicf bsp services not activated.

I have following scenario in PMS (not using Talent Management)
I am using Flexible PMS (Objective setting & Appraisals) with setting " HAP00 REPLA as A".
HR is triggering the template through PHAP_CREATE giving Appraisee, Appraiser and Reviewer.
After that, i am logging in through Appraisee id in the ECC and trying to see the document in Infotype 0024, tab (Appraisal where Appraisee / Appraiser)
but i am not able to see the document however i am able to see the document for Appraiser in Infotype 0024, tab (Appraisal where Appraiser) when logging in through appraisers id in ECC
May i request your expert opinion regarding the above mentioned issue.
Note: Status Flow in Appraisal Template is correctly defined.

Appraisal Document not opening in Edit Mode

Hi Experts,
We have implemented PMS in our EP 7.02 SP6 and BP for ESS/MSS is 1.41 version. When I am launching the Appraisal Document from Appraisal Documents (WD UI) template is getting loaded in display mode with different tabs. In none of the tab I can enter the data. Appraisal Document status is Inplanning. This is also throwing a warning message "Missing configuration for phase in current status/substatus of appraisal document".
I have all the notes for OBN navigation.
SAP Note 1272076 - Update of BP for ESS in ECC600/EhP4 for appraisal navigation
SAP Note 1463821 - Performance Management Portal Configuration
SAP Note 1416756 - OBN Configuration in Performance Management
Can any one throw some light whether any configuration left from portal end or from R/3 end.

You are able to open appraisal document. This means either priority/object you choose in OBN is wrong to pick wrong document
Does the document you see have content you configured in template?
OR
OBN is good but your appraisal template has issues.
Check your template configuration in PHAP_CATALOG.

How to trigger follow up processing actions in appraisal documents?

Hi gurus,
We are customizing the performance management process using Objective Settings and Appraisals (ECC 6.0; Enh.Pack 4, ESS/MSS with business pack 1.41) and we have customized the evaluation templates (transaction PHAP_CATALOG_PA) with the enhancement "Follow-Up Proc. (Background) - Adjust Qualific. (Start Date)" in Follow-up Processing section of the Processing tab, at template level (VA object).
The system functions is ok, and the cualification appears in the employee profile (transaction PPPM) correctly after the performance management especialist trigger it using the admin report (transaction PHAP_ADMIN_PA).
My question is: Is there anyway to automatically trigger the follow-up processing after the appraisal document is finished? Do we need to develop in ABAP a new implementation of some BADI?

That's not what happens for our (custom) appraisal: follow-up process(es) are not started when the status becomes "completed", neither from the backend nor the portal. We always have to manually launch the follow-up process from the phap_admin transaction, and select the ones we want to be done.
In phap_catalog, we have a couple of follow-up processes that are selected in the "Processing" tab.
when the approval process is activated (infty 5025) and or status 6,7,8,9 are selected then the follow up process only takes place after status change to close approved.
Even when setting the status to "closed approved", no follow-up process is started.
Any suggestion? Isn't there a setting somewhere that should be set in order for the follow-up prpcesses to be automatically started when the status is set to "completed"?

Hello Ajaykumar,
if I am not completely mistaking the 360° Appraisal uses the Adobe Forms.
In this case the font can be set in the Adobe Live Cycle Designer by selecting "Palettes" -> "Font".

BADI for changing Appraisal document application name for Web dynpro ABAP

For Appraisal document customizing through PHAP_CATALOG_PA, We have BADI HRHAP00_BSP_TMPL to change the BSP application name which can be used in Web layout for output display. Using this we can change application name from HAP_DOCUMENT to custom BSP application name
Similarly, what is the BADI for changing Web dynpro ABAP applictaion name? Currently its triggering HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT.

I don't know, if there is any chance to get the Webdynpro application name. At least in the ABAP System fields is no information about the webdynpro application name.
One remark: I have allways problems with BAPIS / BADIS that behave different depending on the caller. Could it be a good idea to pass some information through the interface / parameters?

How to unlock Sales Document (Sales Order)?

Dear All,
I was in the process to change a Sales Order. I did all the entries in required fields and before I could save the Sales Order, somehow, my SAP-Connection got disconnected.
I logged again and run the T. Code: VA02 and gave the Sales Order No. and Press: Enter; System responded with Message: Sales Document No., say 123456789, is currently being processed (by User: say, XYZ (thats my id).
How come, I unlock this document so that me and others can process the document.

Just wait for sometime and run some other transactions in your user id, so that it will automatically disconnect the said transaction. Alternatively, you can once again logon and disconnect it (_you should be careful_ while doing this as some users may be working in the same client and if you disconnect by choosing the first option, they will land up in problem)
