Polling for print command using Apple event

Hi,
I need to create a daemon process which will poll for the Print command ( Can be initiated by any application like TextEdit). I am now stuck in handling the Event (I am very new to handling system events). Can anyone help me by providing the sample code, about how to handle the Print Event?
Appreciate if you could teach me how to handle events.

Issuing networksetup -help from the command line lists all the possible commands. I think the one you want is probably:
networksetup -setproxybypassdomains networkservice domain1 domain2 etc
Where networkservice would be either "Built in Ethernet" etc.

I always run a Time Machine backup before updating anything and recommend you run a backup as well. Paid apps should migrate over without any problem. If you have problems with VPP codes not transfering over properly, you can talk to your Apple SE or contact VPP for Education support and they can help you. While I haven't experienced any problems with updating, its never a guarantee that others will have the same experience.

As soon as I posted, Ifigured this one out on my own by going into user settings and changing the default there. Then I was able to delete the default @mac account. Thanks!

Works but not x2 iPad2. WiFi network is the same for printer and all Apple devices. Help.

We are unable to print from ipad2 using Epson Artisan 730 printer. Software download to Macbook was successful but unable to download software to x2 iPad2. All Apple devices are on the same WiFi. I followed the Epson instructions but message box pops up stating Safari unable to download file. Any suggestions.

The iPad and iPad 2 using iOS do not use the same software as your Mac using OS X.
They are entirely different operating systems.
Look in the iPad Apps Store for Epson iPrint app for iPad. It is free.
The Artisan 730 is one of the printers the app supports, so this app should allow you to print from your iPad.
If you're looking from the Mac side, open iTunes, and the iTunes Store, then the App Store, and search for Epson iPrint for iPad

KB fix for print document name in event logs on Server 2012 and Server 2012R2

It appears as though the requested corrections to the documentation where never honored
Note After you apply the hotfix or update, you can show the printed document name in the event by enabling a specific Group Policy.
The policy name:
Computer Configuration \ Administrative Templates \ Printers
Allow job name in event logs

In my simple test, I see that the Group-Policy does exist on 2012R2 but not for 2012.
I isolated the registry changes so I can update a 2012 only system... that text is below.

WE use it more for ad-hoc analysis and ourbeautifully printed reports either come out from Hyperion Reportsor Brio. For using specific analyzer version: This answer is almost "yes".Why almost? this is because, you can use only the versions thatare shipped with hyperion analyzer installation. If you check youdeployment folder, there should be 2 version of java executableshipped with it. One should be from 1.3 family and one from 1.4. Soyou can make analyzer choose from these version. How is this done? This is done from analyzer.properties file. Ifi remember correctly, it should have 2 line with something likeJava class id commeted (with #) in the file.To force it, you need to uncomment the version the line with theclass id of your needed version. Note: you might already know this but remember that having higerversion of java can cause issues with analyzer. Sometimes thereport looks crooked and sometimes the things dont appear on thereport. How to poll for a message using OSB ?

I have created a queue in weblogic JMS . I have a Java client to push messages to that queue. I want my OSB to act like a listener and pick up the messgaes from that weblogic queue . I already have messages being pushed into the queue . How do i configure my OSB to pick up those messages ? Should i have to configure it through Proxy service or business service ? Once my OSB reads those messages , how do i know that proxy has picked those messages?
Could you please explain it with screen shots if possible ?

in this blog i pretty much did the same.
only in my case the testframework stores the messages on the queue.
but the proxy service enqueues them from the queue and the business services stores them on the filesystem.
proxyservices are used for the input/start of your process and the business service is used to 'request/trigger/invoke' other processes.
i hope this is a bit clear definition to know the difference between both.
if you want to check wether or not the message is retrieved from the queue, you can login in the console of weblogic to see if the message is still in the queue, if not, some processes (in your case the proxy service enqueued it). In your proxy service you can add logging to see the message went through the osb service and eventually you could for example check the file system if the file is stored there (but this depends on what functionality your business service has. In my case it's a file business service, so it stores all messages on the file system.

Problems networking win7 pc to Mac with printer attached using apple bonjour

Bonjour print wizard says “no bonjour printers are available”
Have Mac networked to 2 PC’s. One has win XP, the other win 7 home prem (hereafter referred to as pc2).The printer is attached to the Mac. I can print from the Mac and the XP pc -but not from the win 7 pc (pc 2). Bonjour is installed on both the pc’s.  Whenever i open the bonjour print wizard on pc 2, it says “no bonjour printers are available”
THINGS I HAVE CHECKED OR DONE TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE:
system pref. > printers& scanners - verified that the Mac is set up for sharing.     (see screen shots 1-3 )
2) Verified that the network is intact and functioning normally - i can xfer files from one to the other.
3) On pc 2 - opened devices & printers - it shows my printer as the default printer
4) Attempted to delet and reinstall the printer - when trying to reinstall the printer, got
      error msg “windows could not connect to the printer”
5) checked firewall issue - under “allowed programs and features, there was a tic in the
  bonjour service and a tic in the box for home/work  network . I understand there is a
   UDP 5353 that needs to be open but i did not know how to access this port to verify
that it was open
My observations are that pc 2 cannot “see” the printer installed on the other side of the mac.  The Mac can see it as does the xp pc.  I’m thinking its a firewall issue but don’t know how to go any further.  Any and all help appreciated.

Unable to control volume on headphones for Spotify when using Apple Iphone Dock

I have an Iphone 5 and its connected to the Apple Iphone Desk docking station.
I have plugged my headphones into the Line Out port on the back of the docking station
However I am unable to control the volume of Spotify and it plays music at full volume through my headset
When undocked it works fine.
How can I fix this?

Apple Events XML Import

I've written an application that interfaces with FCP using Apple Events that grabs the XML for a given project, adds some markers to the xml, then sends the updated XML back to FCP. It works getting the XML every time, but t only works properly to send back the updated XML sporadically. I monitored the Apple Events and they're getting sent properly. I also looked at the XML that's being sent and if I tried to import it using FCP's import function, then it works properly.
Has anyone else seen this kind of problem where FCP doesn't seem to recognize Apple Events? I think I heard something on another discussion about the possibility of FCP's Apple Event queue being full or something along those lines, but I don't know how I could check that.
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Well I hate to beat a dead horse- I just don't want this to get pushed back into oblivion. Sooo.....just thought I'd add this:
What Apple says about Logic:

And what Apple says about Final Cut HD:
"Final Cut Pro HD supports XML interchange format, which describes every aspect of a program from edits and transitions to effects, color correction settings and keyframe data. Using XML interchange format, you can seamlessly share project, bin, sequence, clip and media data generated by Final Cut Pro HD with any other application or system that supports XML"
Actually I am not sure if this is a Final Cut problem or a Logic problem but either way they are BOTH Apple products and I would assume that if any two products would work great together it would be these two (at least here's to hoping)

No. Apple only keeps the pdf file for a book for 30 days. Without the library and book project you won't be able to reorder the same book.

If you want to prepare the files for printing after editing, you could try the actions panel in Expert Mode. There is an action for 4 inch x 6 inch prints which will give your originals the maximum resolution. Then export the photos to a CD or thumb drive etc and take to your store or upload on-line.

Sorry for the goose chase. For prints, I use the Walgreens app. You can pick them up at a local store, or I think they will mail it to you.

Just received Apple TV as a gift. I don't have Wifi. My Mac accesses the web through Time Warner Road Runner, and my iPhone and iPad are 3G.
Is there any way for me to use Apple TV?

:/ I thought the Time Warner Road Runner modem had WiFi build in. If you are using one of the old cable modem to ethernet only units, you'll have to buy a WiFi router or run an ethernet cable from your cable modem to the Apple TV (IF your model has a spare port )
