Pool limit Exception

Hi All,
I am facing the below issue:
Caused by: weblogic.jdbc.extensions.PoolLimitSQLException: weblogic.common.resourcepool.ResourceLimitException: No resources currently available in pool EMRepos to allocate to applications, please increase the size of the pool and retry..
In the AM I have doAmPooling = false.
Due to above I need to Shutdown the weblogic everytime and start and deploy the application again.
Any other settings that might help.

Abhilash,
Your question isn't very clear, but perhaps reading [url http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/web.1111/b31974/bcampool.htm#sm0299]this part of the documentation will be useful for you.

    Hello,
    I am looking for assistance from the project server community.
    When I click “Save and Synchronize” on the Active Directory Enterprise Resource Pool Synchronization page nothing happens and the status does not change.
    This is a new instance of PWA and I am preforming this task using the farm admin account. The farm admin account can read AD.

    Hi,
    I also get the same error when I'm trying to do the synchronization between Enterprise Resource Pool and Active Directory.
    I am in a single domain topology between Project Server 2013 and AD, and I'm doning the synchronization with the farm admin account, who has read/write access to AD.

  • ExecutorService thread pool shutdown exception

    Hello,
    We are developing a desktop application (no applets etc) on the Netbeans plaform. I am trying to add a thread pool via the Java5 ExecutorService. I think we have a very standard implementation using static methods - we copied it from some basic examples in blogs. Please see the class below.
    Everything seems OK until I try to run shutdown. During the application shutdown we catch an exception that says
    access denied (java.lang.RuntimePermission modifyThread)The exception is raised when running the ExecutorService "shutdown()" method.
    Please note that this is a desktop application, and we DO check the permission with the SecurityManager (see code) and we do seem to have the correct permission (no exception raised during check).
    Firstly, this is the first time we've used ExecutorService, so maybe we just have just implemented it incorrectly. Secondly, all "googling" on the issue reveals very little. It only seems to happen to applets.
    ANY SUGGESTIONS, ADVICE, GUIDANCE, HINTS would be MUCH appreciated.
    public final class ThreadPool {
        private static ExecutorService threadPool = Executors.newFixedThreadPool(3);
        public static void execute(Runnable worker) {
            threadPool.submit(worker);
        public static void shutdown() {
            SecurityManager s = System.getSecurityManager ();
            if (s!=null) {
                try {
                    s.checkPermission(new RuntimePermission("modifyThread"));
                    // we apparently have permission, so proceed to shutdown ...
                    threadPool.shutdown();  // EXCEPTION RAISED HERE !!!!!
                    threadPool.awaitTermination(15L, TimeUnit.SECONDS);
                    threadPool.shutdownNow(); // brutal mop up
                } catch (Exception e) {
                    logger.warn("ThreadPool.shutdown(): ex=" + e.getMessage());
    }

    You don't explain the context in which this application is launched - applications can be restricted by security policies too.
    shutdown requires two permissions: one from the installed SecurityManager if any, and the other directly from the AccessController. Your installed SecurityManager may be saying "yes" while the AccessController says "no". There is a change in Java 6 such that only the security manager is queried.

  • Project Online Enterprise Resource Pool Limit

    Does anyone know if there's a limit to the size of an ERP in Project Online? We have 30K+ users that need to be added to the ERP...
    Thanks,
    Roland

    Hi Roland,
    The boundaries are more a question of projects than users. Here is the
    boundaries adviced for Project Online, for example 2000 projects and 150 custom fieds. Note that few weeks ago
    Project Online has been scaled up.
    Hope this helps,

  • PoollimitException in weblogic 10.3

    hi,
    we are facing the poollimit exception in weblogic 10.3 which is upgraded recently. previously our application is running in bea weblogic 8.1 SP5 application is working fine with connection pool settings default 25 and we are not getting the poollimit exception in 8.1 .
    Recently we are upgraded the weblogic from 8.1 to 10.3g in the new version of weblogic we are facing the poollimit exception .at frirst the connection pool is 25 then next day pool limit exception occurs and server is down. then increased to 50 again servere works for two day again server down for the same reason.
    My Questions are
    1) i have not changed my code same code is working without poollimit exception in 8.1 with 25 why it is not working in weblogic10.3g and is this nessary to increase the connection pool in 10.3?
    2) how may users it supports with default connection pool settings.
    Thanks in advance
    Chaitanya Kiran PVN

    Yes, I think your app is leaking connections, and in 8.1, GC was saving you. I'll
    bet your code is not thread-safe, such that one Connection variable is being
    set by multiple threads. If two threads each set the same variable, they will
    both use the last connection set, and the one overwritten is leaked. Connections
    should be "method-level" objects, defined in the method, obtained from a
    WLS datasource in the method, used, and then closed without fail, regardless
    of the code path, by the end/exit from that method.
    Here is the ideal standard for safe WebLogic JDBC. If you can
    adopt this, many such problems will go away. Pooling is fast,
    and is best used in a quick per-invoke fashion:, and if
    many of these 'top-level' methods are required for a
    given transaction, WebLogic pooling/DataSources and the
    WebLogic transaction coordinator will cooperate to ensure
    that all work is included in the transaction. Multiple
    connection closings at the user level will not hurt.
    For instance, for a non-XA datasource, we will transparently
    ensure that all of these multiple methods will (necessarily)
    get the exact real same connection for a given transaction.
    /* This is how you should make any of your top-level methods
    * that will do JDBC work for any of your user invokes.
    public void myTopLevelJDBCMethod()
    Connection c = null; // All JDBC objects should be method
    // level objects to ensure thread-safety
    // and prevent connection leaking.
    // Define the connection object before
    // the JDBC 'try' block.
    try {
    // This is the JDBC try block for this method. Do
    // all the JDBC for this method in this block.
    // Get the connection directly from our DataSource
    // in the try block. Do not get it from any method
    // that has kept a connection and is sharing it for
    // repeated use.
    c = myDataSource.getConnection();
    ... do all the JDBC for this method in the scope of this try block...
    ... you can pass the connection or sub-objects to sub-methods
    ... but none of these methods must expect to keep or use the
    ... objects they receive after their method call completes...
    (eg)
    DoSomethingFancyWith(c);
    // Use Prepared/Callable Statements. They are faster usually,
    // Especially because we cache them transparently with the pool.
    PreparedStatement p = c.prepareStatement(...);
    ResultSet rs = p.executeQuery();
    ProcessResult(myrs);
    // Close JDBC objects in the proper order: resultset, then statement, then connection
    rs.close(); // always close result sets ASAP at the level they were created
    p.close(); // always close statements ASAP at the level they were created
    // When the JDBC is finished in the try-block, close the con:
    c.close(); // always close connection ASAP in the same method
    // and block that created/obtained it.
    c = null; // set the con to null so the finally block below
    // knows it's been taken care of.
    catch (Exception e ) {
    ... do whatever, according to your needs... you do not have to
    ... have a catch block if you don't want it...
    finally {
    // Always have this finally block. A finally block is crucial
    // to ensure the connection is closed and returned to the pool,
    // (not leaked).
    // failsafe: Do every individual thing you want to do in the
    // finally block in it's own try block-catch-ignore so everything
    // is attempted.
    try {if (c != null) c.close();} catch (Exception ignore){}
    }

  • How to Troubleshoot the Connection Pool Exception?

    Dear Oracle Gurus, very good afternoon to you.
    I'm looking forward for some tips/troubleshoting guide to escape from the below exception, that occres very frequently to one of application that 100+ users will login from different locations & work on and update the data and save their work, where all in sudden they can't acces the application and it gets down.
    Most of the times in the server log I observed below.
    weblogic.jdbc.extensions.PoolLimitSQLException: weblogic.common.resourcepool.ResourceLimitException: No resources currently available in pool RemoteDesktop.main to allocate to applications, please increase the size of the pool and retry..
    Please help me on, how to overcome this kind of exception.
    In Weblogi c server I see below kind of Warnings.
    If you set the buffer size to zero in a servlet, it would fail to respond and would initiate an infinite loop in the server. WebLogic Server would ultimately display a Errors:
    ExecuteThread: '157' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default' has been busy for "633" seconds working on the request "Http Request: : ../updates/process_manager.jsp", which is more than the configured time (StuckThreadMaxTime) of "600" seconds.
    I searched over google for this kind of error, See otherusers posted the same kind of errors but didn't have any positive replies to troubleshoot this issue.
    I also got Oracle Dev link on Weblogic version upgrade product where they fixed similar kind of error it seems. Which is shown below.
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E13222_01/wls/docs61/notes/bugfixes2.html -- BUG # CR106186

    This problem was solved with a code fix.
    Looking forward for some help, Thank you inadvance.
    FYI..
    I'm using oracle thin driver JDBC connection/Weblogic 8.1
    Edited by: user1072948 on Apr 26, 2012 11:55 AM

    I agree that looking into the number of connections that you have open when you see
    weblogic.jdbc.extensions.PoolLimitSQLException: weblogic.common.resourcepool.ResourceLimitException: No resources currently available in pool RemoteDesktop.main to allocate to applications, please increase the size of the pool and retry..
    would be a good idea; but I would suggest that you don't increase without thinking about the consequences. I would look more closely at what the connections to the database are doing, for instance, how long are the connection being left open for? What are the queries that are being run? Should you expect to see all the connections in the connection pool being used? What is the current connection pool limit? Are you simply going to increase the number of connections to find that they are also waiting? What is the load on the database at the time?
    It's the other error that you say you see
    ExecuteThread: '157' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default' has been busy for "633" seconds working on the request "Http Request: : ../updates/process_manager.jsp", which is more than the configured time (StuckThreadMaxTime) of "600" seconds.
    What does this JSP do? Why would this be busy for so long? Is it related to the previous exception that you have? I'd ask you delevelopment team to look into this.
    In short, it sounds like you have load issues on your server(s) and a careful tuning of the system after a full analysis (thread dumps, heap profiling, connection pool monitoring and code review) would probably be beneficial. It may be that restricting the thread pool may help, it may be that increasing the connection pool would help. I'd not plump for a quick fix here.

    Muthu,
    To find out whether the problem is with container setting or with your application, can you create a simple stateless session bean and check if it works fine. If it works fine send me ejb-jar.xml and sun-ejb-jar.xml for your application.

  • JDev 10.1.3 - running any application results in connection pool error

    After creating a new project with a MySQL connection and since removing the project, I receive this error no matter which application I try to run through the local OC4J of JDev 10.1.3.0.4.3673.
    I can recreate this issue with a brand new app workspace & project with a single html file.
    06/07/06 14:08:19 WARNING: Application.setConfig Application: current-workspace-app is in failed state as initialization failedjava.lang.InstantiationException: Error occurred initializing connectors. Jul 6, 2006 2:08:19 PM com.evermind.server.Application setConfig
    I'm guessing this is a connection pool issue, but I'm not sure how I associated this connection to the pool, or where to remove it. I've reviewed the help files and searched through this forum, and see references to the connection pool on the AS, but not JDev 10.1.3 itself.
    Any pointers are appreciated! In the mean time I'm continuing my search!

    Can you please clarify the following...
    1) Can we run MDB applications within JDeveloper 10.1.3 ? I noticed there is a jms.xml file in embedded OC4J.
    2) How can we test MDB applications within JDeveloper linked to a JMS Destination OC4J based ?

  • Destroying connection that is not valid, due to the following exception [com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: Connection reset]

    Hi everyone,
    I'm facing the following problem in a Server runing Linux with JBoss AS 4.2.2, JRE 1.6, and MSSQL Server 2005 with JDBC 2.0 (sqljdbc4.jar).
    The thing is: on friday morning I started up the server and everything worked fine ... next, from Friday at 6pm to Saturday at 8am nobody has used the system.
    Then on Saturday at 8:05 got the following warning lines every time I tried to do something in my application. While it seems that everything works, after a few days the system starts to decrease their performance and malfunction, so I want to know why it
    might happen these warnings.
    I have tried to find a solution to this problem in several places but I'm not succeeding. That's why I'm writing my problem here...
    Hope somebody can help me!
    Thanks in advance and best regards!

    I´m facing similar problem with Linux and SQL Server 2008 R2. I made the downgrade of JDK 1.6 from 27 to 26 (some people reporting errors when upgraded to jdk1.6_29 and rolling back is ok) but for me the error persists. At this moment we are testing with
    sqljdbc4.jar version 4.0 (released in 3/6/2012). The curious I have two equals Linux boxes and only one have presented connection reset errors.
    Thanks in advance.

  • OVM Manager 2.2.2: server pool error with file system type

    I'm just getting started with OVM. I've installed OVM on one machine and the manager on another.
    I created a server pool, which seemed to work OK but shows "Error" in the table under the "Server Pools" tab in the manager interface
    When I edit it I see
    Error: OVM-1011 OVM Manager communication with NNN.NNN.NN.NNN for operation Pre-check cluster root for Server Pool failed: <Exception: SR '/dev/sda3' not supported: type 'ocfs2.local' not in ['nfs', 'ocfs2.cluster']>
    Can anyone explain this? Does this mean I can't use a local file system in OVM 2.2.2? I understood this was the case with OVM 3, which is why I went with 2.2.2.
    Thanks.

  • Server Pool WITHOUT shared storage

    The documentation defines Server Pool as:
          +Logically an autonomous region that contains one or more physical Oracle VM Servers.+
    Therefore, should it possible to add multiple servers (physically separate VM servers) to the same Server Pool even though they are NOT using shared storage? When I tried to add the second VM Server to the Server Pool I received the following error:
    During adding servers ([vmoracle2]) to server pool (VM_Server_Pool), Cluster setup failed:
    (OVM-1011 OVM Manager communication with vmoracle1 for operation HA Setup for Oracle VM
    Agent 2.2.0 failed: <Exception: SR '/dev/sda3' not supported: type 'ocfs2.local' not in
    ['nfs', 'ocfs2.cluster']> )Thanks.

    Nothing is as easy as it seems when it comes to Oracle VM.
    When trying to create a new Server Pool to accommodate my second VM Server, I received the following error:

  • Invoice Tolerance variance PP not working for lower limit

    I am working in ECC 6.0 environment. I had configured tolerance variance PP to check MIRO value with GR Value. I had maintained upper and lower tolerance limits equal to 1000/- and had set messages M8082 and M8084 to error to stop invoice activity if invoice value is not within interval specified by tolerance variance.
    I had posted a GRN with value 5000/-. Now, at time of MIRO ---
    1) If i change MIRO value more than 6000/-, error message M8082 is there, which is correct.
    2) But, if i decrease MIRO value by 500/- (which is within lower limit of variance), error message M8084 is there which should not be there until MIRO value will be reduced by more than 1000/-.
    Kindly resolve this issue asap.

    Hi !
    Please note the following:
    The system will check the lower tolerance limit but an invoice will
    never be blocked if the LOWER limit is exceeded. The system will only
    display a warning message. In the standard system invoices will only be
    blocked if the UPPER limit is exceeded because normally one wants to
    prevent to pay more than expected.
    In SAP Library: MM-Invoice with Variances-Tolerances you will also
    find the following explanation:
    Variances are allowed within predefined tolerance limits. If a varianc
      exceeds a tolerance limit, however, the system issues a message
      informing the user. If an upper limit (except with BD and VP) is
      exceeded, the invoice is blocked for payment when you post it. You mus
      then release the invoice in a separate step. If the tolerance limit fo
      BD is exceeded, the system cannot post the invoice."
    The system will check the lower limit but an invoice will never
      be blocked if the lower limit is exceeded. The system will only
      display a warning message. In the standard system invoices will only b
      blocked if the upper limit is exceeded because normally one
      wants to prevent to pay more than expected.

  • Error when trying to create Single-node Server Pool

    We have an existing Oracle VM environment at our company that I have taken over support of. I would like to add a new Oracle VM server to the Manager, but I want it to be in it's own separate Server Pool by itself (no HA).
    When creating the Server Pool in Oracle VM Manager, I am able to enter the new server information, assign all the roles and test the connection properly. However, when I hit next, I receive this error:
    OVM-1011 Oracle VM Server newServerName.domain.net:MyPassword operation Checking Shared Storage failed: failed:<TypeError: list indices must be integers> .
    The Oracle VM server is version 2.2, and I accepted most of the defaults when installing (local OVS formatted as ocfs2).
    The Oracle VM Manager is version 2.1.5.
    Thanks in advance for any help.

    I have a VM Manager 2.2 that is managing a VM Server 2.0 (10.10.10.11). I am adding a second VM Server 2.2 as a separate environment with its own storage pool for management. I couldn't.
    Error
    OVM-1011 OVM Manager communication with 10.10.10.12 for operation Pre-check cluster root for Server Pool failed: <Exception: Cluster root not found.>
    What does this cluster root not found means? I just want to use the same VM Manager to manage another independent VM Server. Is this possible?
