POP to imap and still receiving messages in both places

Ok I posted the other day about getting too much mail.... I get all my mail on both my iMac and my iPhone. So I was told to set the gmail account up as imap. I changed it to imap within Gmail then went to my iphone and deleted the old Gmail account and set up a new account using these instructions:

I was excited to half my mail however I woke up this morning and yet again, all my mail is in both places, the iPhone and the iMac, so what am I doing wrong here?
I just set up the imac mail to be imap and ummm right now its downloading 3277 emails! No one told me that would happen, I thought this was going to get me less email, not more! Yikes.

I don't think you fully understand how IMAP works. The real advantage of IMAP vs POP, on multiple devices, is that the devices will all be in sync under IMAP. If you delete on one device, it will be deleted on ALL devices. The mail that shows on one device will show on ALL devices. This behavior is not true using POP. So, once you've gone through your mail & deleted what you don't want, from that point on ALL of your devices will be kept in sync, e.g.- if you read & delete mail on your computer & then launch the mail app on your phone, everything will appear exactly as you left things on your computer.

That suggests that the installer is getting damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)

Hi,
If is just to pass the message (as the sender source is the same as the receiver source),
first you should have the Message Interface of you message
then you should configure the Receiver determination, as the sender interface use your message interface and in the interface determination you can use the same message interface (same name). You dont have to add any mapping, just let empty and save. Just use one message interface for sender a receive.

That usually indicates the mailbox on your ISP's mail server. That's where you have to look and clean up.

If you are receiving popups, it is possible that this is being caused by an extension that you have installed on Firefox.

I'm having issues with iMessage. It works fine on wifi and I receive messages as iMessage without issue in network or wifi. However as I send a message it starts as iMessage then says not delivered. Then sends as SMS since I have it enabled.

iMessage works on wifi without issue. However I receive messages on network but can't send. I send a message it starts sending as iMessage ten says it can't send. Then starts to send as SMS since it's enabled. I have reset network sertings, updated to ios7, etc and done about 3 othe suggested in order resets to get it to work and it still hasn't started working when I'm not on wifi. Any suggestions?
It's a iPhone 4S. I have two iPhones. One setup to receive iMessage just to its phone number. Therapeutic to receive to its phone and email. I wouldn't think that would be the issue as all 3 are separate. Bone the same going to both phones.
