Populating Account field with totaled number from Activities.

Got a curious one.
We're using activities to count up the numbers from various site visits. What we want to do is have the number just populate automatically on the account record. So, whenever a new activity is saved, or an older one is updated. We want that number to update on the account. Is this a workflow thing? a Joinfieldvalue function thing? Both together using the Account ID to tie them together.
So, on the activity record, there are various number fields for different value. But we're also having a total field that adds it all up. We want that field plus all the other total fields for activities attached to this account to be added up and place on the account record in a custom field.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I think you may be right. I did some research and came up with this.
Use query builder and default values to populate Activity records with information from the associated Account record. Then the User would enter any new values on the Activity, and, upon saving, a web service would be triggered to populate the revisions back to the Account record. This way, the Account record would always have the most current values, and the next time they have an activity, the activity would be populated with the most current values.
We can’t go from the Activity to the Account. That’s why it needs to be the web service for this portion. There needs to be a one-to-one relationship defined, and on one Activity record you can define one Account that is related to it. But it doesn’t work the other way, because an Account can have multiple activities and there’s no way to define “THE” activity.
Does that sound right?

    Dear SAP Gurus,
    I have to clear CENVAT Clg account using PO number. I have tried all possibilities, ultimately was partially successful.
    I was able to bring in PO number for all SA Documents, but not for RE Documents (Value "00000" is getting populated in RE documents in Assignment field).
    To resolve this partial error, I took help of ABAPer, to replace values for CENVAL Clg account for Document Types RE with PO number.
    However, when I go to FBL3N / F-03 (For clearing) it shows me "00000" (the old value). Now, when I double click the line item or when I check the table values for this document, it shows me PO number.
    Requesting you help me solve this error.
    Table values updated but, FBL3N and F-03 not.

    I have already maintained Sort Key as "014" Purchasing Document and Open Item Managament in FS00.
    Thats the reason why I am able to get PO number in SA Document Types. But the problem was populating PO values in RE Documents getting generated during MIRO.
    Therefore, we developed one program (ABAP), to populate values in Table BSEG-ZUONR to be copied from BSEG-EBELN.
    Table is getting updated correctly.
    However, i am not able to see PO number in FBL3N and F-03.
    Kindly suggest, why is that so ?

    Does anybody know if it is possible to display in FB03 in accounting document a refference field with sales order number?
    Can parameter AUN be used for this purpose? If so, how can it be set up?

    Hi Sylwia,
    What you could do is to talk with you Sales & Distribution folks. They could set up a copy control strategy that drives transfer of information from Sales order to billing and/or from delivery to billing (Tcode: VTFL). Either the header reference field or the allocation field (Assignment field at line item) can be set up to capture the sales order number when the financial document is released to accounting.

  • Investment order settlement- assignment field with order number in GL code

    We are settling the investment order to the concerned asset and in reco account of the concerned asset it has to update assignment field with Investment order number from which order settlement was happend.
    For example I am booking all the expences to 1000 GL account code for investment order and I am settling to 2000 GL code.
    Investment order number is coming in 1000 GL code in fbl3n and for 2000 asset class (Reco 2000 GL code) it it not showing IO number.
    We want IO number in 2000 GL code line item.
    Do the the need full.  It is very urgent..........

    when u are seeing gl line item .onse u enterd inthat screen change layout screen tab will be ther u plz see the  IO filed and select that . to next saide it will give urs IO no.also

  • How can I get a report with total number of pages printed on my HP Officejet Pro 8610?

    Since knowing the number of pages I print is so critical to a choice of using the "HP Instant Ink Plan" or not, how can I find the total number of pages I have printed on my brand-new (installed 2 days ago) 8610?  And if I can, is it a "resettable" or rolling total?  Don't see anything in user guide and a search yields nothing usable on this blog.
    Printer is installed wirelessly on an older PC with Windows XP SP3.  I can also of course intstall it with network cable but so far it works OK on my home network without network cable.  If it matters which OS, I also have a Lenovo laptop running Vista on which I can install this printer. 
    Please do not respond that I can find the total by counting the number of pieces of paper I have.  Surely the internals of this fine machine must have the requested data so that HP can tell my usage if I select the monthly ink plan!
    This 8610 was a good buy (net $89.00 after trade-in of my six year old J36xx Deskjet) at Office Depot/Max which of course influenced my decision to buy it.  So far I am very happy with printing qualities and speed, have not tried the scanner yet and will probably never use the fax since I have no land line phone.

    Section #2 of the Printer Ststus report will tell you. Please try:
    Printer status report
    Use the printer status report to view current printer information and ink cartridge status. Also use the printer status report to help you troubleshoot problems with the printer.
    The printer status report also contains a log of recent events.
    If you need to call HP, it is often useful to print the printer status report before calling.
    To print the Printer Status Report
    1. From the printer control panel display, touch and slide your finger across the screen and then touch Setup.
    2. Touch Print Reports and then touch Printer Status Report.

  • Account group with Internal Number Range

    Hello Gurus,
    With Internal number range assignment to the Customer Account Group, I am unable to extend the customer from one sales area to another sales area with the same Customer number.
    If I am not it is a standard feature that irrespective of the number range (internal or external), with the same customer number, customer can be extended to multiple sales area.
    Please correct me if I am wrong and suggest a solution.

    No error message but the next number is getting allocated.
    in VD01 or XD01
    the following steps r followed.
    1. Enter the Account Group
    2. Sales Area (New Sales Area for the customer)
    3. Reference Customer.
    4. Reference Sales Area.
    Rather than going to the sales area directly, General area screens are appearing.
    Upon saving saving the details New customer number is getting allocated.
    I have no clue where I have gone wrong...
    looking forward for suggestions.

  • Replication of BP linked with Customer number from R/3 to CRM

    We are trying to replicate BP linked with the customer number.
    In R/3 when a BP is created automatically a customer is created for this BP (due to activation of synchrozination- BP -->Customer ) with different numbers and is available in the customer-general data tab of the BP in the field - Customer number.
    Both BP and Customer are having different numbers this needs to be replicated to crm as a BP with the Customer number appearing in the Identificatio tab as R/3 customer number (identification type).
    Example - A BP with number-100 is created then automatically a customer with number 2000 is attached to this BP -100. The same needs to be replicated  to CRM. Both BP and customer shud have same GUID.
    With the settings that is done now two records are getting created seperately one with BP number and other with customer number based on settings in PIDE.
    How can we configure this?

    Hi,
    I think you are using some IS component in ECC. Hope you are using BUPA_MAIN and BUPA_REL objects for downloading BP's to CRM. In PIDE you do not need to maintain mapping for customer.

    We can display the Vendor number from the layout in FBL3N report, but the Vendor number will be displayed only if the document is posted from MM module. If the posting is from normal FI, it will not be displayed.
    Other option is to develop a simple ABAP report to display Vendor.

    ASAIK, you can not see the resource name in map descriptive field. But you can do a workaround like, create a hidden field(UD_ADCS_RESNAME) in AD Process Form and use pre-populate adapter to populate this field with your resource name.
    Now in Map Descriptive Field of AD Provisioning, select the field UD_ADCS_RESNAME under the Process Data. You will be done.

  • Auto populate blank text fields with n.a from a button or on print out.

    This seems straight forward but I cannot find an existing questions on this topic.
    I would like to add a form function that will fill any blank text fields with n.a. I do not want to use the default field value as I think it will cause confusion and cannot be applied for text fields formatted for dates. Is it possible to run a script that can do this? It would be OK if the action was triggered from a button or print activity after the rest of the form has been completed.

    The question is whether your form is used only for filling out on screen (and not as a level 0 form, being printed out and filled out manually).
    If so, why not make the default value of the concerned fields to be "n/a" (or whatever you want to name them). That would relieve you from any validating before printing.
    Otherwise, you could maintain a list of field names which should get the n/a value if empty. This list would be an array.
    Your code in the willPrint event (if you want to have it reliably) would then look like this:

  • Billing Document Number saved with Preceding Number from Number range...

    Hi Everybody,
    I am facing with some irregular problem which is as follows :
    For example, Billing Docs created in the month of January was saved with number series like 10161, 10162, 10163 .....and so on....
    But the user has creatd the document in February and it got saved with number like 10121......which is a preceding number and there is only one document like this....
    The number range is Internal Number Range...even though it got saved with preceding number.
    Can anybody plz tell me why this has been happened ?????

    also check whether you are using ztable for number range depending upon plant.

  • Issue with Total Number of SODs at user level.

    We are using GRC 5.3 Production on NT 20003 server. and back end systems are ECC 6.0
    1.We added the Additional Role to one of the business users in ECC 6.0
    2.We ran the FULL synch after adding this role in backend.
    Issue : The total number of SODs did not change for users, even though the SODs for this business users did increase about 300.
    Locations of Screen
    Informer Tab ->> Risk Violoations.
    Analysis Type -> Users
    Does anyone has any idea how this numbers get interpreted?
    The Total number of Violations for permission should increase, if user level SOD gets increased, as per our understanding.

    It should be in below sequence -
    1. Full or incremental sync for user/role/profile
    2. Full or incremental batch risk analysis for role/user/profile
    3. Management report
    The view you see is management report, which is based upon above jobs. FIrst jobs does high level sync like user/role/profile addition/deletion etc. Second job actually does risk analysis. Third one fills up the management view. If your batch risk analysis was run on  Aug 30 aug 10 and management report after completion of the same, the report will show the same data till you run these jobs again even there are many changes in backend authorization.

    I'm a laboratory manager in charge of a hospital project which will be using pdf forms to send and receive data from our end users across the city. I need help with the last part of our pdf form, specifically with a js that will do a bit of text-field autopopulation magic. This, unfortunately, is a beyond what I have taught myself about pdf js functionality.a
    The problem:
    I need to provide my end users with a text field containing a set of data [A, B, C, D, E, F ...] and the total items in this set [tot#]. The end user needs this information as part of the implementation of this particular laboratory machine.
    The particulars
    When the end user asks for an experiment to be run, we must specify some pieces of data to help them interpret the results. These are constructed as panels which contain discrete data elements.
    For example - One experiment may use two panels, Panel#1 and Panel #2. Panel #1 includes the items A, B, D, E, Panel #2 includes the items A, B, C, F, G.
    Thus, the panels may share some of the same items, but, I only want the unique members to be displayed in the text field. If I make a drop down box or checkboxes with the panels, I want to  be able to select the panels that we ran and (in this example) have the text field display only the unique items among all the panels that were used:
    textfield outpute = A, B, C, D, E, F, G - 7 total.
    Any assistance from the pdf community would be very much appreciated.

    Pretty easy, add a CHR(10) (ASCII for carriage return) in the string concatenation.
    e.g.
