Portal - ESS error in Wroking time-- Leave request.

Hello Masters in ESS/EP,
I am getting the following error in EP for Leave request in Working time:-
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.context.ContextConfigurationException: DataNodeInfo(FcForm.Orig_Request.Item_to_Check_Orig): structure field Umskd not found
Are there any settings needed to be done in R/3 or EP or in PTARQ related to leave request activation. Kindly let me know. Its urgent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we solved this issue with applying the following patch:
Patch for SAP ESS 600 Support Package 11
which you can download from SAP Service Marketplace at:

               -> SAP ERP 2005
                    -> Entry by Component
                         -> SAP XSS (Self Services)
                              -> SAP ESS 600
                                   -> #OS independent
We also applied Patch for SAP PCUI_GP 600 Support Package 11.

Can you check with other user who is having all the roles.
This error has something to do with the roles.navigation is occuring with URL means check the roles or try with other user.
Look into permissions and also in different browser also.
Log file u have to search in OS LEVEL.
Mail meto [email protected] if it doesn,t work and we can try for other ways.

ESS Error in EP for Working time -- Leave Request.

Hi,
We are on ESS 600 and EP 7.0. We have configured for the leave request and hence using the standard one. We are able to see the process succesully till steps as followed:-
1) Employee can apply to leave from ESS on EP.
2) Approver gets mail in the UWL.
3) Approver can Accept the leave.
4) We run the program to Post the leave.
5) Leave gets updated in infotype 2001.
6) We run program to send mail.
But the employee doesnt get any mail of approval from the approver in his UWL on EP. Any thing needs to be done to make this whole process successful. Kindly let me know.
Also kindly let me know whether the above steps are right and how do we make it automatic without any manual intervention. We need to schedule the jobs, if i am not wrong, but what programs need to be run at what time do let me know.

Hi Gaurav,
The mails will be sent to the user's mail box. If you want it to appear in UWL, you need to set uo the SONIC connector. By default, UWL only reads workitem tasks. If you install SONIC, then this connector will enable UWL to read the sap r3 inbox as well.

If you want to send mailos to external mail id's then configure SCOT and SOST.

BSP error while applying a Leave request in ESS

Dear Friends,
Reposting an issue which I posted earlier in ESS Forum as I didn't get solution there and the issue is more technical and moved towards Netweaver applications.
While applying a leave request in ESS portal, I am getting an error page saying Business Server Page error.
Checked related SPRO Nodes: Both ESS UI5 and ESS (Java) nodes. They are maintained. Being HCM Functional Consultant, this error I am not able to analyze anyway. So asking Portal /Netweaver experts here.

Error - While changing existing leave request from ESS

We are trying to use the standard leave request application in ESS/MSS. The basic required standard configurations are done. Since we wanted custom notifications, the related workflow is copied into custom workflow and we have included required custom notifications. The custom workflow is also configured properly.
Now, the standard functionalities like making leave request, triggering notifications, approving leave request and posting information into backend are working fine from the ESS/MSS.
When the employee tries to change the existing leave request (before approval) from ESS, at the 2nd step (Review and Send), it is displaying one error message General task: can be edited by all users. But, it still allows submitting the records.
Once it is submitted, the system throws one java error at the final step (after pressing SEND button) u2013 Failed to process request. Please contact your system administrator. - java.lang.NullPointerException. The complete error information is provided in the attached word document. Even though, it throws error the submitted data is getting saved into the backend.
Please help to solve this issue.

What custom notifications you require in leave request? We have all available in standard using Rptarqemail
First of all, the WF task should be set as
General task: can be edited by all users, which you have done presumably under task classification
Now, for checking purposes, can you check with standard WF in table v_t554s_web for one absence only?
ie WS12300111.
Please test this and let us know if you have errors
Also please check your custom WF whether it is working correctly or not?

ESS Error message due to Leave Collision

Dear Friends,
We are doing new ESS MSS implementation on ECC 6.0.
We have configured SAP R/3 to accomodate Collision of leaves in table V_T554Y (Global Time constraint raction) and we can create leave collision through PA30.
E.g: A person who has taken Annual Leave on a particular date can take sick leave on the same day. Sick leave will overwrite/delimit the Annual leave.
We are getting a collision error message while applying for the same leave (Sick leave in the above example) through ESS and not able to go further with the leave request. The same leave, I am able to create through PA30 in R/3.
Please suggest a solution.

I have same problem to you.
If the leave request is already maintained in PA30, the collision error message will raise and the request can not save to R/3.
Dear export, could you provide the solution about it, how can I update infotype based on request via portal approve. I know the collision message according to customizing V_554Y_B.
The leave request can not save data if the collision type is E(-The system does not allow you to create the new record, and
displays all collisions.), right?

Error when creating a leave request

Hi Experts,
I am setting up ESS (WDA) EHP5 on Portal 7.3. I and ERP6. I got this error when clicking on the calender to create a leave request:
No data for infotype 0001, personnel no. 00000000 in period 2012-01-24 - 2012-01-24. (Modifiers not found)
Got the same error on the portal as well as using PTARQ
I did customizing for Leave Request and there are also data for IT0001.
Is there anything else missing?
Please advise.

SInce you are getting a message recarding pernr 00000000, it looks like your user in portal may not be tied to an employee via infotype 0105?

Error Message Classes for Leave Request

Hi,
I've checked every error message class I can think of but can't find the warning message:
"Absence cannot be partial-day, so clock times have been removed."
which is displayed in Leave Request.
Does anyone know which class it is in so I can stop it being displayed?

You mentioned about configuring messages in Leave Request. How do you change the text of a standard SAP message? I would like to change the text of the message 015 Payroll Area &1 locked that is displayed in the portal, without using BADI.
As I read through the blogs this seemed to be the closest message to my particular question.

I have configurted ESS/MSS on EP 7.01 SP03, but it is giving error in almost every tab.
When i navigate in to Employee Self Service < Working Time < Leave Request tab it ends up with error pasted below.

Error in ess leave request

Please find the below error and guide me in this, as the employee has applied leave request and it is approved and posted in 2001 but the employees has an Option in ess to change his approved leave also but when he is trying to change the leave getting the error
The leave must not start before 22.04.2009

Providing Calender option for dates in Leave Request form in ESS Portal

Hello All,
Can anyone tell me how to get the calender option for the From date and To date fields in the craete leave request iview in ESS ?
In the backend R/3 transaction, we are able to see the calender option. But it is not visible in the portal.

Go to:
IMG > Personnel Management > Employee Self-Service (Web Dynpro ABAP) > Service-Specific Settings > Working Time > Leave Request > Processing Processes > Define Processing Processes for Each Rule Group
Select your Rule Group
Under Record Partial-Day Absences in you have three options: Hours and Clock Times / Hours / Clock Times
You should select Hours and save the record.
With this, you will only have the duration and clock times will not be displayed.

i am very new to workflow so any help would be appreciated. can some one please provide a detailed step by step guide on how to create a workflow for canceling leave requests (must go thru manager's approval first before the cancellation to be applied) via portal?

Hi,
If you go with the standard, you don't have to create any workflow, you can use the existing one. The approach is exactly the same as implementing a workflow for new leave request. Basically in the SPRO you need to go to the ESS area and find the Leave request related configuration there. You will find that you can define for each absence type a workflow which will start (and you can define them both for new request and cancellation requests). With proper configuration, everything will work without any WF development effort.
If you find out that the standard solution does not fulfill the requirements, return to this thread for more detailed questions.

IT105 subtype 0001 & relation to portal (teamcalendar, leave request, etc.)

Could you provide me some Informations/Documentations about the relationship between IT105 0001 (Systemuser) and the standard time management iViews in portal, e.g. Team calendar, Leave Request etc.
Background is, that we use the same System user id's for different persons in different periods. I want to obviate that this could cause errors in Enterprise Portal (EP7.0, ESS/MSS 1.0, NW04s, ERP2005, SP 13).

Maybe you are right but im not sure.
My problem is that we have a problem in a productive system: A manager looks into his team calender and all seems to be ok and then he goes back to an other month and there comes the error message infotype 105 does not exist. I do not know what exactly was made but in IT105 subtype 0001 there is entered a system id that was deleted in su01.
So because of the error there seems to be any relationship between the IT105 and team calender at all.
We tested different combinations with persons that leave the company and give the user to another person and we also tested persons without a systemuser. And we were not able to force any error message in any combination.
We go to SAP Support and ask for this relationship and told them the problem but they answered:

I want to understand why and when does IT105 has some impact to team calender.
So could you or anybody else give me a hint.

ESS: Leave Request - How to use a custom Leave Workflow?

Hi Experts,
I am implementing ESS 1.0 for mySAP ERP05. I have a custom workflow for Leave Request which I want to use for the ESS Leave Request. Can someone tell me what are the configuration steps required for this?
I have already performed the following activity:
SPRO --> Personnel Information --> ESS --> Service Specific Settings --> Working Time --> Leave Request --> Specify Processing Processes for Types of Leave
Here I have defined the WF ID of New Request as the custom Workflow ID.
Now when I trigger the Leave Request from EP-ESS, the message comes that the request was sent successfully.
But in the backend no workflow gets triggered. I even tried to write an implementation for the BADI PT_ABS_REQ to trigger the custom workflow event, but still no activity in the ECC workflow upon submitting thwe portal request.
Can some one please advise.

Ohh.. So the standard WF also doesnt get triggered??
Are you sure u have done SWU3 config??
If u have, Try using SWU_OBUF to refersh the workflow buffer.
Try swi1 to check what is happening with ur WF.
Try login to requesters login ... SBWP ... check the outbox. Is there a WF with Error here.
