Portal.properties file

Hi! Is there any published documentation on the parameters of the portal.properties file for ALBPM WE 5.7? I'm specifically interested in the definition of fuego.portal.debug=false.
Thanks,
Christine Spretnjak

the following properties:
# Port to launch Portal HTTP debugger.
fuego.portal.debug=false
fuego.portal.debuggerPort=9007are used to enable an internal web server that shows debug information of the workspace application. it is similar to the option available for the engine.

  • Read properties file in abstract portal component

    Hi,
    i have test.properties file, i want to read information on this file and its located in src.api/properties . if any one knows How to read this  properties file in abstract portal component please tell me.
    Regards,
    nari.

    Hi Nari,
    Follow the below steps:
    1. Store your properties files (test.properties, test_en.properties, test_xx.properties where xx is the locale ) in the folder PORTAL-INF ->Private ->classes
    2. In portalapp.xml for component-config, add this
    <property name="ResourceBundleName" value="test"/>
    3. In your abstract portal component you can use the below code to fetch the value for the key "SERVER_NAME".
        public void doContent(IPortalComponentRequest request, IPortalComponentResponse response)
             ResourceBundle resourceBundle = request.getResourceBundle();
             if(resourceBundle!=null)
                  response.write(resourceBundle.getString("SERVER_NAME"));
             else
                  response.write("Error");
    Let me know if you still face any issue.
    Thanks
    Prashant

  • Passing properties file to portal

    Hi experts,
    I have one application which was built on PDK. I have one properties file which holds connection information of backend. now how can i pass these properties file to portal. In webdynpro java, we can achieve this using application parameters. but in PDK which procedure we have to follow?
    one more question is, For PDK applications creating the system object is mandatory or optional?. if mandatory how can we do that one for PDK application?
    Regards
    maha

    Hi,
    If it is a AbstractPortalComponent, DynPage or JSPDynPage you can put the information in the portalapp.xml file of the project into the component profile-section for example:
        <component-profile>
            <property name="z.system" value="R3_SYSTEM"/>
            <property name="z.debugMode" value="false"/>
        </component-profile>
    See [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/c9/c8af42a6f6cb6ae10000000a155106/frameset.htm|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/c9/c8af42a6f6cb6ae10000000a155106/frameset.htm] for more info about portalapp.xml.
    Then in code you access the values:
    String system = request.getComponentContext().getProfile().getProperty("z.system");
    The properties are visible in iview properties in Content Administration -> PortalContent -> [iview properties] - here you can change them.
    Hope that helps,
    Romano

  • Properties files in a Java package not included in DC build

    We are developing a Portal Standalone DC and i have a JspDynPage component within it. and i need to do internationalization in  it. so as part of that i want to keep multiple resource bundles(properties) so that i could manage my properties files easily, For example
    MSS.properties
    MSS_es.properties
    ESS.properties
    LSO.properties
    since portal by default has no way to do this bcos it allows only one resourcebundle to specify in portalapp.xml file, i have kept the resource bundles in java package like
    com.companyname.portal.resources.
    when i export from NWDS with selection of "i want to add non java resources into jar " option from windows->preferences->enterprise portal ->application development studio, it exports all the properties files as part of the par and everything works. but when i do the DC build it ignores all my properties files and it is not working. any suggestions on how to resolve this??? does SAP provide any other way of handling multiple properties files inside a PAR?????

    We are using NWDS 2004 SP19.  and yes i have defined three default SCs as dependencies. I tested with 2004s NWDS and it seems work fine. I am able to resovle this issue by moving my properties files into another java DC and create public part in java DC and use those public parts in Portal application DC.
    So The problem of not including the properties files into Jar seems to be issue only in Portal Application DC not in Java DC. thanks everyone for the quick responses..

  • Usin properties file in bpel

    Can I use properties files with bpel (if can how it does?)
    for tune some region options

    You could write a custom xpath function and plug-in to the bpel engine to do this job.
    The custom xpath function can read a property file and convert into a xml element and use that xml element inside bpel.
    The tricky part is to map the properties file into a xml schema and convert the properties file into xml document. Inside bpel, the variables refer to xml elements.
    Another easy solution is to use java <exec> to do the same.
    -read file
    -change your mail/portal data inside the java exec using setVariableData() function.

  • Use resourceBundle properties file from KM

    Hi,
    I have a properties file called com.mycomp.apps.phonebook.properties in the KM Content of the portal in KM Content => root => mycomp => apps => phonebook => customizing
    Now I'm developing a new LinkCommand service for the UserDetails.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/65/29b24053c13f5fe10000000a155106/frameset.htm
    The already existing LinkCommand "Send E-mail..." is read from the original resourceBundle com.sap.ip.collaboration.gwui.api.wdf.mail.SendTo
    For my new LinkCommand I would like to use the existing properties file. How do I have to define this file in the uicommand xml or properties xml sheet?
    Can anybody help me?
    With the local project resourceBundle it's working, but I would like to use the file in the KM. Andy ideas?
    Regards,
    Stefan

    Hi Praven,
    Copying all existing SendTo properties file to my project would be an option but I wouldn't win anything.
    I'm quite happy with the existing SAP collaboraton properties files using e.g. for "Send e-mail".
    I won't change this existing ones. I created a new LinkCommand. And for this new LinkCommand I'm looking for a solution how I can handle the translation for it.
    I would prefer e using my existing file which is located in the KM. The reason why it's located in the KM is, if I need to change a translation or add a new translation properties file I only need to change it in the KM. If it's a part of the project I need by every change to deploy the project new.

    the password value stored in OID is just a hashed value (by default) and it's virtually impossible to retrieve the original value of password, as entered by the user.
    There are option in OID for storing the encrypted value (vs the hash value). Perhaps that in this case there are means to do the job.
    In my opinion it's a bad choice (from governance perspective) to allow developers retrieving a user password value from a directory.

    Hi Subba,
    You can find an example of the "dir.md.properties" file at:

    The content for this "dir.md.properties" is just:

  • Error reading properties file upon deployment

    hi. i'm still relatively new with regards to the Java programming language. in any case... i am developing a simple project wherein the application has to make a database connection to a server. the application is finished already however.. i am having problems deploying it.
    my project has a "resources" package containing the file "config.properties" which contains various information (connection details among others). correct me if im doing something wrong, but in deploying in, i copied the "dist" folder of my compiled code and then tried to run the java exe independently which resulted in an error. i already tried copying the "config.properties" file to the dist folder and even creating a "resources\config.properties" file but it still results in an error. could you please help me figure out how to deploy the application with the properties file. the code i used in referencing my .properties file is as follows:
    Properties configFile = new Properties();
                configFile.load(this.getClass().getClassLoader().getResourceAsStream("Resources\\config.properties"));
                String username = configFile.getProperty("username");
                String password = configFile.getProperty("password");
                String url = configFile.getProperty("url");
                String dbtype = configFile.getProperty("dbtype");
                Class.forName(dbtype);
                conn = DriverManager.getConnection(url, username, password); thanks in advance. ^^

    thank for the help mangst. i guess the IO approach is also applicable ^^; i changed my code to:
    configFile.load( new FileInputStream( ".\\resources\\config.properties" ) );but i had a little trouble in debugging it since it starts the file search from the main project directory. however it works fine upon deployment. ^^; thanks again.

  • Error reading Properties file

    I have a main method which i am using to call a servlet located in the same Development Component. Until recently i had the servlet location hard coded and it was working without issues. Now i decided to make the location configurable. For this i created an sap.application.global.properties file in the EAR DC which contains the WAR of this DC.
    The contents of the above file are as follows:
    SAP application properties
    SERVLET.LOCATION=http://<server-name>/ControllerServlet/servlet/com.nike.xapps.eqptsp.swem.controller.ControllerServlet
    The code i am using in the main method to call this properties file and access the property is as follows:
    Context ctx = new InitialContext();
    ApplicationConfigHandlerFactory cfgHdlr = (ApplicationConfigHandlerFactory)ctx.lookup("ApplicationConfiguration");
    Properties props = cfgHdlr.getApplicationProperties();
    String servlet = props.getProperty("SERVLET.LOCATION");
    contained in a try...catch block.
    On dubugging i get a NoInitialContextException repeatedly in the statement where the lookup is performed.
    These are all the additions i have made for reading this properties file. Does anyone know if there is anything more that needs to be done for this to work.
    Thanks,
    Murtaza.

  • Display data on ADF table using a VO binded to a message.properties file

    Hi,
    I want to display data in a JSPX page using ADF table which is based on a ViewObject. The attributes of the ViewObject should get it's value from a abc.properties file(static file).How can i achieve this.
    thanks in advance.
    regards,
    Himanshu.

    Hi Himanshu,
    When you create a VO based on static values, all of the records from your VO are generated into the MessageBundel.properties file like this
    devguide.entity.ViewObj.SL_0_0=1
    devguide.entity.ViewObj.SL_0_1=<val1>
    devguide.entity.ViewObj.SL_0_2=<val2>
    devguide.entity.ViewObj.SL_1_0=2
    devguide.entity.ViewObj.SL_1_1=<val1>
    devguide.entity.ViewObj.SL_1_2=<val2>
    You could add more lines to the properties files maintaining the same pattern. Also noticed that you can read all the values from a CSV file as well.
    The last resource is to programmatically read the file and start creating new rows on the VO, which won't use any of the declarative tools for VOs.
