Possible to disable volume buttons - ipad?

I have a ipad2 ios7 with a volume button fault - it means the volume (down) button is randomly engaged every few seconds, resulting in the volume going to zero, but even at zero it also means the volume button activation icon is constantly flashed in the middle of the screen.
Is is possible to write an app to disable the volume buttons or buttons in general? so that the icon will not flash on when the button is pressed?
Or in conjunction with this is it possible to lock the volume so that pressing the vol buttons has no effect.
In either case, my main concern is preventing the volume icon appearing constantly on the screen - I can live without any sound.
Apple have provided (in IOS) the neat feature allowing a floating screen button to take the place of a faulty home button. It would be great if they included some way to overcome faulty volume buttons also.

Apple does not repair them. The manufacturer, Foxconn, does so back at their facilities in China. Apple just ships them back, and receives factory refurbished service units from them. They all get new screens and new battery, regardless of age or condition, any other faults are repaired and they are fully tested and come with a minimum of a 90 day warranty.

Yes, you can disable a button on teh smartbar.
You do this by disabling the associated menu item.
Use: QMS$MENU.DISABLE_ITEM or QMS$FORM_FUNCTION.DISABLE.
(See page 14-9 en 14-10 of the User Guide)
In your case you can use:
QMS$FORM_FUNCTION.DISABLE('CREATE_RECORD');

Air Mobile iOs: TextField - Possible to disable 'clear button'?

Hi,
I have got a flash.text.TextField in my new iOs application.
As soon as I focus the text field, that iOs typical grey 'clear button' appears to the right of the text field.
Is there any possibility to prevent that button from appearing? I want to use customized clear buttons at that point.
What I've already tried and what did not work:
- Adding a mask to the textfield: The mask works fine for the TextField, but the clear button shows up on top anyway

[SOLVED] Disable volume buttons

I have a problem that volume touch buttons on my laptop are randomly pressed by themselves and when in prompt i sometimes get flooded with tilde characters originating from these random pressings of the volume buttens. Showkey program identified it as keykode 114 and 115. How would i disable these two buttons on the most primitive level?

Yes xmodmap does the trick in X, but i was wondering how would i disable these two keys on more basic level, that is when i'm in prompt (as they cause tilde characters to randomly appear on inputline). I don't often use prompt so this is really more or less a curiosity, but still i had some instances when i couldn't write my password correctly because of this issue (input was p~~as~swor~d instead of password) and it took some time and couple of reboots so that window of no '~' pressings appeared and that i could properly login.

If the iPhone falsely senses it is docked due to short in the charging port it can disable Volume buttons. Shorting in charging port can be due to dust, debris, etc. If no Warranty, clean with toothbrush and small amount of Isopropyl Alcohol. Never hurts to try a Restore with current iTunes on your computer, too.

Ipad mini loose volume buttons

I had my ipad mini with retina display for 2 weeks now and my volume buttons are loose. I'm very happy with my ipad but the fact that my volume buttons are loose just bothers and I would hate to go back to apple to complain about such a small issue. It might. You need to make an appointment at your local apple store, take it in and have them look at it. Before you go in, be sure to back everything up because apple stores don't repair in store, they swap your malfunctioning device for a replacement.

Something is forcing the volume down button on my iPod down all the time. Because the volume is constantly being turned down the volume square is always up in the middle of my iPod. Rather than having to replace the whole volume down button or the whole iPod, is there a way to simply lock the volume buttons on the side of the iPod?

There is no way to lock them. I would work through the general troubleshooting outlined here to rule out the possibility of a software, although it sounds more like a hardware one.

I have tried the mystical swiping upward on the screen with 4 fingers to get some special sound menu (which I never succeeded in getting). My headphone jack doesn't work all the time either so some times my kids can hear their games and sometimes they can't. I am super frustrated at this point. So any suggestions would be great. Am I missing something basic or do we just have a soundless iPad now?

Possible to disable crtl+alt+del button on HP Slate 500?

I was wondering if it is even possible to disable the crtl+alt+del button on HP Slate 500? As my company has me reviewing the unit to be possibly used within our company but one of the requirements is to be able to lock the tablet down. And one of the things they want is to prevent people from being able to use the crtl+alt+del to access task manager since the plan is to lock windows to one open application. But I can't see any settings in the bios to disable that button. And there are no oblivious options I can find on the Slate and the button does not appear to be controlled by a priority HP software product. The only other way I could think of doing it would be to somehow disable it from the registry.?

This can be done using the Pro version or higher of windows 7, using gpedit and/or administrative templates you can control everything a user account can do or not do.

IPad 2 Rotation, Sleep, and Volume Buttons Don't Work.

I have an iPad 2 running 7.1.1 (11D201) and just yesterday the sleep sleep and volume buttons don't work, and the screen won't rotate at all. I have already tried the following:
Switched the Lock Rotation/Mute settings in General
Power cycling it
Held the sleep and menu button to reset it (the button worked for that at least)
Done a network reset
Reset All Settings and restored from backup
Reset All Settings and restored from iCloud
Erase All Content and Settings and restored from backup
Erase All Content and Settings and restored from iCloud
If anyone has any OTHER suggestions besides what I've already tried, I am all ears. Thanks.

Go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without be charged again. Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

Recurring theme with the 4s losing alerts except for the phone ringing. Most complaints seem to center on the 7.1 upgrade. The fix is dodgy, putting in a charger, playing a you tube video then pulling out the charger and wiggling it until you get the sound back. When you get the sound back, the volume buttons start to work again. Alternate solutions involve cleaning the docking port with a toothbrush, running a pick over the electrodes etc.

How much would a repair for an unresponsive volume button cost for an iPad 3?

The volume button for decreasing the volume as stopped working and has been unresponsive to restarting the my 3rd gen iPad, and doing a hard shut down. My AppleCare warranty for my device has expired and I would like to know how much a repair for this would cost. It should be noted that the button for increasing he volume still works but since the buttons are technically one button on the device my assumption is that both buttons would have to be replaced. If you could shed some light on whether I should repair my iPad or buy the iPad Air, (whichever one seems cheapest or most cost effective in the long run). Thank you for your time and an answer to my question would be gladly appreciated!
