Possible to extract R3 attributes directly from portal?

To get an IUser object the following code can be used:
IWDClientUser wduser = WDClientUser.getCurrentUser();
IUser result = wduser.getSAPUser();
The IUser has several methods like getCIty() & getEmail(). Is it possible to retrieve custom attributes for this object?
What does the method getTransientAttribute() do?

Generic get method to access additional transient attributes.
These attributes are contained in separate namespaces, and
are accessible via their names. Attributes that are in no
distinct namespace are formally located in the namespace
null.
Note: the transient attributes are instance specific.
Parameters:
namespace - namespace the attribute is in (may be null)
name - name of the attribute
Returns:
the values of the respective attribute, or null if this namespace
or attribute within this namespace does not exist

Is it possible to control a Mac directly from an iOS device without being connected to a WiFi network, i.e. an airport or similar.

I would like to control my MacMini (Late 2012) 2.3GHz Intel Quad Core i7 processor directly from my iOS device, either my iPhone 6 or my iPad G3. By directly I mean without having a wireless or wired network in place.
I know there are a number of iOS apps that utilize VNC technology but I believe they all require the Mac to be connected via WiFi to an Airport or similar wireless networking device. I would like to control my MacMini remotely without having it already connected to a WiFi network and wondered is it possible? The iOS device and Mac would be in close proximity to one another.

Guys, thanks but I did not mean to control it by infrared. I know only too well that iOS devices do not have that capability. However they and the Mac both can send and receive WiFi signals so is there any reason they can't talk to each other directly.
When I am in my home I have an airport but I would like to take the Mac Mini out on music gigs with my Apollo interface which serves as my mic preamp and mixer as it does in my studio but the Apollo needs to be connected to the mac via thunderbolt to download the plugin software that provides reverb and eq, etc. I would like to do this without the need of a monitor and keyboard, hence my dilemma. The only thing I basically need to do is start the mini and the rest happens automatically but I need to also shut down (which I know can be accomplished a couple of ways) but with out having a visual interface you can't make any changes or verify what setting are being used.

First, thanks for your reply. It's greatly appreciated. However, the level of your response fails to address the scope of the original question. Your first supposition is incorrect, that most MS Word docs copy uneventfully into the body of Gmail emails. This only applies to the most basic of MS Word docs (i.e., those utilizing minimal formatting, such as basic letters, etc.) and otherwise runs contrary to dozens of online complaints posted by users such as myself (though not on the Firefox website). Second, everyone knows you can add an attachment to Gmail emails. In this case, the recipient will not accept attachments of any kind, and has therefore asked that the content be copied directly into the email body. This is not uncommon in these cases. Third, the very nature of Notepad makes it unable to translate/interpret any documents beyond the most basic, hence its name: Notepad. Fourth, apparently this problem is rare or virtually non existent with other browsers, as all the complaints online appear to be Firefox related. Again, however, I appreciate you taking a stab at this.

Update AD Attribute directly from OIM

I just want to change one attibute in AD from a process task in OIM.
This process task is using an adapter that calls a Java method. In that method i'm initializing a com.thortech.xl.integration.ActiveDirectory.tcUtilADTasks instance and then calling its setUserAttributes(objectGUI,hastable) method. However no changes are reflected in AD..
I guess i'm not taking the right approach so I'd appreciate ur help.

That's the way to provinsion a field from AD User Form to AD. What I need is to write a Java code to update an attribute directly in AD to the desired value. Some thing like this:
Pseudocode: UpdateValue(ObjectGUI,pInstance,attribute,newvalue)
I guess I have to use methods from tcUtilADTasks in com.thortech.xl.integration.ActiveDirectory package, however I've tried several times without success...
Any suggestion?

in-line in the ActionScript ExternalInterface.call() executions is
that all of the code can be encapsulated in the Flex logic. That is
you do not have to write the JavaScript separately in the HTML
wrapper. You can if you want, of course. Certainly no harm in that
;-) Since your original question was how to detect the browser
information "directly from FLEX", I suspect you might like being
able to write the JavaScript methods in-line ;-)

I am not sure whether it is possible but if ever, it must be with a Microsoft COM object. i.e. you have to write a COM-Wrapper java class to access the content of a word file.
The best way i can consider is to use the OLD Visual J++, which was deprecated after .NET and C# were introduced.
It may still function, if your project is nothing commercial.

Is it possible to use Lightroom/Photoshop directly from a external hard drive?

As a beginner at Lightroom and Photoshop and still having a large amount of old photos I want to work with, can I leave them on the external hard drive or do I have to import them to work on them? My constraint of course is space. Thanks, Wyndon

Your photos can reside on any hard drive or even a network drive that is connected to your computer. The import process doesn't put the image "in" Lightroom, but rather simply creates a pointer in the database so that Lightroom can keep track the adjustments and changes that you make. Lightroom will create a preview image, and you can control the size of those previews making them smaller if space on your hard drive is limited. You can even move the folder containing your catalog to the external hard drive if you want. This would minimize the amount of space taken by the Lightroom program. The catalog can reside on any hard drive connected to your computer, but cannot be on a network drive.

Possible to extract "Maker Note" metadata from a JPG?

I am trying to access the camera-specific "Maker Note" metadata that is stored in a JPG image. As far as I can understand, this data is not recognised by Bridge since it is not associated with a standard "Namespace". This is probably due to it being very camera/model specific.
Can anyone point me towards the method for accessing this data - even in a RAW/binary format? I do not mind having to interpret and parse this data myself. I am just trying to find a way to actually read the data.

Print BW Report from Portal 6.0

Hi,
I have a BW report iView and I would like to print the BW report from Portal. I don't see an option to print directly from Portal.
Is it the only way to print is "export to Excel and print it from there" ?
We are on EP6 and BW 3.5.

I'm not a BW person but as far as I remember there is an HTML section when creating BW reports.
Try to put:
<a href="javascript:print();">Print Report</a>
in tis HTML section.

Exposing WebService directly from ABAP Class not from BAPI

is it possible ti expose a Webservice direct from an ABAP OO-Class.
I know the possebility to do it for RFC enabled Funktionmodules but I think it is no good coding style to call ABAP-OO-Methods using RFC-Module only for providing them as methods of an WebService...
Is there anyone who has exerience on that area ?

thanks for your answer. But the WS-Call are OO codings and the class is OO coding. From my point of view it is not a good style using an RFC Functionmodule as "middleware" between OO-Classes.
However, if it is not possible I have to live with the possabilities SAP provides.

Hi,
If u want to increase the speed of reading then u can try this.
If each line of the file is almost the same length then u can fix a particular size for each record.
For example each record will occupy 50 bytes. If u want to access the 10th record u can just use skip method to skip 450 bytes and read 50 bytes from that location.
In this method there will be wastage of space, but memory consumed when running the app will be less since u dont store full content of the file in memory(vector)

I am trayin to retrieve some user and arganizational attributes from portal channels (2005Q1), but, with directive "<dtpc:getStringAttribute key="attribute"/>, i can not retrieve some importants attributes as "dn" and an custom attribute from the organization that contain user entry, for example, "orgIdSuscriptor".
i don't know how to retrieve in the same channel some attributes of user entry and some attributes from oraganization entry, any one know how?
