Possible to rename popup strings upon changing `Chapter` field in `Composition Marker` dialog?

I am in need to dynamically change the values inside a popup upon a user changing the value of the `Chapter` field within the `Composition Marker` dialog. I realize that we cannot add new string values to a popup at runtime, but I read a thread in this forum, and in the `Supervisor` example in the SDK, that it is possible to rename them. However, it seems like the event for making the changes to those values is triggered by a user changing values in the parameter set of the plugin itself.
So my idea is to populate a popup param with 20 strings--for example, 1, 2, 3, . . . 20. Then when a user enters in a string within the `Chapter` field in a `Composition Marker` dialog, it updates the popup list to show the user entered string. Is this possible? I know I can access the string in the `Chapter` field via javascript ExtendScript. Can I do it within C++ code?

to get the marker string you should use AEGP_GetMarkerString() with AEGP_MarkerString_CHAPTER. as for changing the popup values, by looking at the thread you pointed out, it seems it's possible to change the popup names at any time, and not during a specific code. the entire accessing of the popup data in that example was done using AEGP calls, which should not be affected by the calling time. (except for rare cases) never tried it myself. can vouch for my advice here. since popup param's amount of entries can't be changed dynamically (to the best of my knowledge), you can create 30 (or any other number) of hidden popup params, starting with 1 entry and ending with 30 entries in it, and make only the param that fits your purposes best at that moment - visible.

Make two New Folders on the Desktop, (Office and Home might be good names).
After Mounting the Volumes at work, drag the Globe Icons to the Office Folder, after mounting the Shares at home, drag them to the Home folder, (you can even rename them once in the folders).
Drag those two Folders to the Dock between Applications and Trash to have two popup menus for nearly instant connecting.

Is it possible for an End user to change the theme or Font of the application.
We have a requirement where End user should able to change color or font of application (like we do theme change in some social networking websites)

You could:
1. export your current theme
2. change the exported file using a good editor and change the path
#IMAGE_PREFIX#themes/theme_10/
to
#IMAGE_PREFIX#themes/theme_&THEME_NUMBER./
and do that also with all strings related to that theme number.
3. crete an application item THEME_NUMBER
4. create an application computation for THEME_NUMBER to set it to a value (10) in case the value is null
5. import the theme and make it the current theme
6. create a link in your application which will set the value of THEME_NUMBER to whatever - 1 to 20 for the standard themes - and submit the change
This will change the template as you specify.
This explanation is of course simplified. Depending on the design of your application it may require considering some other details that need to be adjusted.

The assumption is that all of your referenced classes in all css files have the same name for the same class with a leading theme number (which istn't the case in standart themes). However, this can at least give you an idea on how to proceed. I have done that with some custom themes I created and it works very well.

Is it possible to pass a String from an applet to a web site (as a field value in a form, an ASP variable, or anything else). Basically, I have a pretty large String that is being edited by an applet. When a user clicks on the submit button, a different page will show up which has to display the modified string. The String is pretty large so it doesn't fit into the URL variable.

Why do you want to do this in Java?
Javascript is the correct language for these type of situations.

but, no, you can not offer the functionality of a videoDVD by simply uploading the files.
consider any web-site generator (software, on-line/template based) to create a website with 'links' to the indiviual videos. with some craftmanship you could 'emulate' the look&feel of your DVD …-
btw: users of web-sites usually expect a diff. 'format' for video than mp2s of a videoDVD.

Report COOIS Field string text change

I have found the report RCOTX000 to change the text in field string in order information sytem report , well I want to change some field label text in the report COOIS / COOISPI ,so I try with the help of RCOTX000 but it is not changing the field text . Is there any other setting required for this or there is no way for changing the field text ?

Hi, this is probably a bit of a stupid question, but one that has me quite confused all the same!
Is it possible to pass a string or class name etc. representing a type of class in java, to a method so that instead of having to redefine a method with say the following args:
public SolarPanels[] bestPVPanels(int budget, int percent) {
HashMap<Integer, SolarPanels> panelsMap = new HashMap<Integer, SolarPanels>();
}As at present needing to create a methods bestWindTurbine() and many others exactly the same, but for the type, I would instead like to be able to create a method like:

HashMap<Integer, aClassName > renewableMap = new HashMap<Integer, aClassName >();
}But cant sus how to do this as passing a String is off course going to cause problems unless its it possible to cast a string to a class name, any help or advance would be much appreciated.

Class.forName(classNameInString);But that will only return a Class object.
And as Java generics are erased at runtime, passing the class name to the method is useless as it is too late to use it anyways.

Hi Robin,
Just create on empty DC and copy the
web dynpro component from your previous DC.
you need to recreate model.
It will ask you to add files into DTR. say yes and your DC will be copied.
copying a model folders and wdmodelclassed from SRC folder will help you in copying model. but advisable is recreate model.

without repainting all canvas.if your not comfortable repainting the entire canvas, You can use the selective repaint function. it repaints only the area specified by you

Managed system asking logon popup while clicking change & Workload E2E in solman_workcenter ->RCA>E2E
it asking logon pop-up if i click change analysis & workload analysis for all managed system.
My Bi client for solman system is 400.but they asking my BI production system logon credential.
I check in Solman_setup , i gave my bi client only and also i re-run my solman_setup basic configuration wizard.
But still i am getting the pop-up.
How to change this setting .Any help?

The field being changed as well as the fields being updated are all fields in a table (accessible via HTMLDB_APPLICATION.G_F0x).
Updating the fields in javascript is no problem. The problem is calling the javascript routine upon changing a "table" field.
Is there a way to accomplish this?

This procedure explains you Renaming dashboards from BI Answers window itself..
Login answers, go to Settings > Administration.
Click on Manage Presentation Catalog
Select Show Hidden Items check box appears under reports list...
Select the Shared folder name, then go to _Portal*
here you find all the dashboard names
Click on rename button corresponding to the dashboard.. and rename it..

I load it into the database and then create a plsql procedure:

trying to compile it gives me:
20/1 PLS-00311: the declaration of "CreditCard.cc(java.lang.String[])
return java.lang.String[]" is incomplete or malformed

I don't think you can use a String Array directly, you have to use an oracle.sql.ARRAY.
You use the oracle.sql.ARRAY parameter in Java as an OUT parameter in the stored procedure. You need to use an ArrayDescriptor which requires a corresponding Oracle Nested Table type.
Try something like the following:
First the Nested Table Type:
     CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE
     TBL_STRINGS AS TABLE OF VARCHAR2(999);
Then the Java method:
public static void getStrings(oracle.sql.ARRAY[] theStrings) //has to be an array of oracle.sql.ARRAY's as we use it as an OUT parameter
try
     //get a connection
     Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:default:connection:");
     String [] colours = new String []{"RED", "GREEN", "GOLD"};
ArrayDescriptor desc = ArrayDescriptor.createDescriptor("TBL_STRINGS", conn);

Then the call spec:
