Possible to show datafiles that require level 0 backup?

We have some large databases with many datafiles. Is there a command to list / report which datafiles dont have a level 0 backup?
From what I am seeing report need backup - ignores reporting datafiles that may just have a level 1 backup - even if there is no level 0 to base it from.
Is this correct?
Finding this out the hard way when creating a duplicate and finding out that the duplicate fails as it cant find the level 0 for some datafiles
(Linux 11gr1 100tb db Exadata)
Thanks for helping me make sense of this..
Daryl

I tried that .. it doesnt list any issues but I know there is..
RMAN> report need backup
2> ;
RMAN retention policy will be applied to the command
RMAN retention policy is set to recovery window of 89 days
Report of files that must be backed up to satisfy 89 days recovery window

Nothing..
but look at this.. there is no level 0 backup .. it fell off .. ie over 89 days old.

  • Datafile Lost but no backup available

    Version:11g
    We are archivelog mode.
    We inadvertantly lost a datafile and due to some reasons the RMAN backup is not accesible. But all archived logs are available. Is it possible for me to recover the datafile?

    Hi friend,
    We can perform complete recovery in four situations.
    1. System datafile corrupted with recent backup.
    2. non-system datafile corrupted with backup.
    3. non-system datafile corrupted without backup.
    4. Disk corrupted and recreating non system datafile.
    steps
    Recovery of a Missing Datafile that has no backups (database is open).
    If a non system datafile that was not backed up since the last backup is missing,
    recovery can be performed if all archived logs since the creation
    of the missing datafile exist.
    Pre requisites: All relevant archived logs.
    1. alter tablespace <tablespace_name> offline immediate;
    2. alter database create datafile '/user/oradata/u01/dbtst/newdata01.dbf';
    3. recover tablespace <tablespace_name>;
    4. alter tablespace <tablespace_name> online;
    If the create datafile command needs to be executed to place the datafile on a
    location different than the original use:
    alter database create datafile '/user/oradata/u01/dbtst/newdata01.dbf' as
    '/user/oradata/u02/dbtst/newdata01.dbf'

    I have been doing online banking with this bank for 7 months with no problems. About 2 weeks ago I started having problems with certain things within the account. I called the support team with the bank and told them the problem and they suggested to uninstall firefox and reinstall so I did. Now I can move around within the account but can not sign off. Also all my accounts that require a sign in I have the same problem and some games I play only load up part of the game. I play goldminer and now I can not see the little miner to play the game. 16bit? Pixels extending beyond the canvas? (from a crop with delete unused pixels turn off).  Have you previously been saving PSD files?
    IME you sometimes have to tell Photoshop that the first save of a session is JPG, and it remembers from there on.  The way to 'tell' Photoshop that JPG, or PDF, or PNG etc are now your preferred format is to Ctrl (Cmd) click on that format in the Save As drop down list.  So long as the file does not have parameters that your chosen format does not support, then this should work for you.
    [EDIT]  Just noticed that you did include 'Crop' in the subject line.  Do you have 'Delete cropped pixels' checked?

    Is it possible to recover my data from iCloud backup without working wifi? I have as many other upgraded my iPhone 4S to iOS 7.0.2 with the result that the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth no longer works. However, i can connect to iTunes via cable but there is wrong version of backup.

    Answer is no.
    If you want the iCloud backup you have to have n internet connection, thus WiFi.
    The not working WiFi has happened with quite a number of users.
    It is not exactly clear what is the cause but there are suggestions to clear it up:
    Some people have had success by removing an apostrophe from the iPhone name. If your iPhone is called something like “John’s iPhone” then this might work. Go to Settings > General > About > Name and change it to something with no apostrophe.
    Some people have reported success by putting the iPhone into Airplane mode and then going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings, but the problem may return.
    You could also try going to Settings > Control Center and disable Access on Lock Screen then turn your iPhone off and on again.
    Make sure that your router firmware is up to date.
    Try backing up your iPhone and then restoring it. Check how to factory reset an iPhone for details.
    If nothing is working for you, try contacting Apple or take your iPhone into an Apple Store.
    Succes, Lex

  • In WebI report, is that possible to show ZERO in NULL fields?

    in WebI report, is that possible to show ZERO in NULL fields? crystal report has no issue, but i could not find a way to set ZERO to NULL field
    can you tell?

    Bram,
    This formula you used above is corrcet but is returning you a character '0' and when a descending sort is applied character values will be at the top.
    So , apply the formula 'ToNumber' on the value returned form the above formula :-
    ToNumber(above formula)
    And then it will change 0 to number and give you the exact sort order.

  • HT201210 I tried to update to IPad 5.1, but when it finished and tried to restore the backup, it shows me that Itunes could not back up because a session could not be started with iPad. need your help please

    I tried to update to IPad 5.1, but when it finished and tried to restore the backup, it shows me that Itunes could not back up because a session could not be started with iPad. need your help please

    This has happened to me a couple of times and what I do is quit iTunes and restart my Mac and then try again and then it will work.
    If iTunes has already created the backup, you should still be able to restore from the backup when you are connected to iTunes. Right click on the iPad name on the left side of iTunes and select restore from backup. After the process completes, sync with iTunes to transfer all of your apps, music, photos and other media back onto the iPad.

  • Just bought Snow leopard 10.6.3 and upgraded my 2008 iMAC; now want to use the free upgrade to Maverick... is that possible? I read compatibility requirement of 10.6.8 or later...

    Hi! Just bought Snow leopard 10.6.3 and upgraded my 2008 iMAC; now want to use the free upgrade to Mavericks like I was advised in the Apple/Switch store... is that possible? I read compatibility requirement of 10.6.8 or later...???? Thanks for any guidance!

    Before installation you should back up all your data.
    When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard to bring it up to 10.6.8, or download the combo update from here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
    Check via Software Update whether any further updates are required, particularly to iTunes (you will need the latest version in order to synch with mobile devices).
    You should now see the App Store icon in iTunes, and you now need to set up your account:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4479
    You can now upgrade to Mavericks OS 10.9 for free IF you have one of the following Macs, with not less than 2GB of RAM, and at least 8GB of available space on your hard drive:
    iMac (Mid-2007 or later)
    MacBook (13-inch Aluminum, Late 2008), (13-inch, Early 2009 or later)
    MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid-2009 or later), (15-inch, Mid/Late 2007 or later), (17-inch, Late 2007 or later)
    MacBook Air (Late 2008 or later)
    Mac Mini (Early 2009 or later)
    Mac Pro (Early 2008 or later)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
    iCloud system requirements:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4759
    If you cannot run Mavericks you can purchase the code to use to download Lion from the App Store (Lion requires an Intel-based Mac with a Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7 or Xeon processor and 2GB of RAM, running the latest version of Snow Leopard):
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/D6106Z/A/os-x-lion
    or Mountain Lion:

  • How is it possible to show contents of JComboBox that aren't in list

    I have an application that I have developed over time that requires that I be able to select any item in a JComboBox list and send an actionEvent. In order to do this I set the value of the JComboBox selectedIndex to -1 indicating no selection. This enables me to select the first item in the list and send an actionEvent. The only problem is that the window where the items for the box appears is initially blank. (I don't know if window is the correct term). I would like the ability to place a message in this window such as "Please Select FooBar". Anyone know how to do this?

    Maybe something like this:
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    import javax.swing.plaf.basic.*;
    public class ComboBoxPrompt extends JFrame implements ActionListener
         JComboBox comboBox;
         public ComboBoxPrompt()
              String[] items = { "Bryan", "Nick", "Tom" };
              comboBox = new JComboBox( items );
              comboBox.setSelectedIndex(-1);
              comboBox.setRenderer( new PromptRenderer("Select Person") );
              getContentPane().add( comboBox, BorderLayout.NORTH );
              JButton button = new JButton("Clear Selection");
              getContentPane().add( button, BorderLayout.SOUTH );
              button.addActionListener(this);
         public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e)
              comboBox.setSelectedIndex(-1);
         public static void main(String[] args)
              JFrame frame = new ComboBoxPrompt();
              frame.setDefaultCloseOperation( EXIT_ON_CLOSE );
              frame.pack();
              frame.setLocationRelativeTo( null );
              frame.setVisible( true );
         class PromptRenderer extends BasicComboBoxRenderer
              private String prompt;
              public PromptRenderer(String prompt)
                   this.prompt = prompt;
              public Component getListCellRendererComponent(
                   JList list, Object value, int index, boolean isSelected, boolean cellHasFocus)
                   super.getListCellRendererComponent(list,
                        value, index, isSelected, cellHasFocus);
                   if (value == null)
                        setText( prompt );
                   return this;
    }

  • IPhone shows connection with wifi, but I do not have the ability to do anything that requires internet

    When I first unlock my iPhone, it says I have connection to internet. But when I do something that requires internet, it either does not load, or it gives me a connection error message. I just got this phone yesterday from my mom and she barley used it. I have tried factory resetting it but it wont let me.

    Hi Bdegroot8,
    Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it sounds like the iPhone is having trouble with Wi-Fi. It looks like you have already done some troubleshooting. I would recommend that you read these articles, they may be helpful in troubleshooting your issue.

  • Issue of offline OS Level Backup

    Our system config - MySAP ECC6.0, Solman 4.0, SQL Sever 2005.
    This is in regards of Offline and OS level Backup being taken thru Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) by us on monthly basis.
    It is observed that the TSM do not take the open files or the files which are active and being used by the system,
    at the time of taking the backup, although the SAP and MS SQL instance are down.
    It is further observed that mostly windows system files (C:) are not backed up, since most of the files
    Are system files and are active.
    Hence in other words the system is not taking the complete OS level backup and would be not be useful and Workable, when required to restore, in emergency
    Kindly suggest some suitable and reliable solution as soon as possible.
    Thanks & Regards
    Rupali S

    Sorry to post this issue, have noticed that this is a known issue with TSM using on 64Bit, TSM with next release will have options to backup open files as well.

    I have the most recent Level 0 , Level 1 and post-L1 Archive logs of the source DB.
    I am trying restore, recover in a different machine using plain RMAN (not RMAN DUPLICATE) into a new datafile location.
    After the Level 1 backup was taken, 2 datafiles (namdata01.dbf, finaldata01.dbf) were added ( this got 'recorded' on the subsequent post-L1 archivelogs )

    5> restore database;
    6> switch datafile all;
    7> switch tempfile all;
    8> recover database;
    9> }RMAN executes the commands in the run block stepwise. In your case, starting from "set newname for database..." and lastly executing "recover database...".
    Let me interpret it for you.
    1. You restored the controlfile from the L1 backup which does not have any information about the 2 newly added datafiles. You cataloged the backuppieces and the archives to this controlfile, which means that the controlfile would now be aware that the required backups and archives are in this cataloged location.
    2. You set newname for database to the desired location, thereby this command is executed restoring the database from the L0 and L1 backups. (These 2 backups do not have any information about the newly added datafiles and hence the 2 files would still not be restored).
    3. You execute restore database which restores the files from L0 and L1 backup.
    4. Switch datafile all, this renames all the files that were restored in the previous steps to the desired name/location that was mentioned in step 2.
    5. Recover database: This is where the archivelogs come into picture. The data in the archives would be created & recovered. The newly added datafiles are now created & recovered but RMAN does not go back to STEP 2 and STEP 4 to re-execute the commands in STEP2 and STEP4 to restore it to the desired location (STEP 2) and Rename it (STEP 4). The files will have to renamed later by moving them manually to the location that you require.
    So, RMAN does not execute the SET NEWNAME for datafiles which were added after the backup as the information about these files do not exist in the RMAN backuppieces.

    when the apple review team review our app,they point out that our  app uses a background mode but does not include functionality that requires that mode to run persistently。but in fact,when the app in background ,the app need data update to make the function of  trajectory replay come ture。in fact, we have added function when the app  is in background mode。we have point out the point to them by email。but they still have question on the background mode,we are confused,does anyone can help me,i still don't know why do review team can't find the data update when  the app is in background and how do i modify the app,or what is the really problem they refered,do i misunderstand them?
    the blow is the content of the review team email:
    We found that your app uses a background mode but does not include functionality that requires that mode to run persistently. This behavior is not in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines.
    We noticed your app declares support for location in the UIBackgroundModes key in your Info.plist but does not include features that require persistent location.
    It would be appropriate to add features that require persistent use of real-time location updates while the app is in the background or remove the "location" setting from the UIBackgroundModes key. If your application does not require persistent, real-time location updates, we recommend using the significant-change location service or the region monitoring location service.
    For more information on these options, please see the "Starting the Significant-Change Location Service" and "Monitoring Shape-Based Regions" sections in the Location Awareness Programming Guide.
    If you choose to add features that use the Location Background Mode, please include the following battery use disclaimer in your Application Description:
    "Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life."
    Additionally, at your earliest opportunity, please review the following question/s and provide as detailed information as you can in response. The more information you can provide upfront, the sooner we can complete your review.
    We are unable to access the app in use in "http://www.wayding.com/waydingweb/article/12/139". Please provide us a valid demo video to show your app in use.
    For discrete code-level questions, you may wish to consult with Apple Developer Technical Support. When the DTS engineer follows up with you, please be ready to provide:
    - complete details of your rejection issue(s)
    - screenshots
    - steps to reproduce the issue(s)
    - symbolicated crash logs - if your issue results in a crash log
    If you have difficulty reproducing a reported issue, please try testing the workflow as described in <https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/qa/qa1764/>Technical Q&A QA1764: How to reproduce a crash or bug that only App Review or users are seeing.

    Unfortunately, these forums here are all user to user; you might try the developer forums or get in touch with the team that you are working with.

  • System datafile block corruption - no backups and database in NOARCHIVELOG mode

    Dear All,
    Database version - oracle 11.1 Enterprise
    OS - RHELinux 5.8
    What are the options of recovering from physical block corruption when there are no backup available to perform block media recovery?
    V$DATABASE_BLOCK_CORRUPTION reports two segments corrupted (please see attached image for details).
    1 table in system datafile - sys_fba_barrierscn
    1 index - (applicaiton index)
    What are my options?
    I know there is a possibility that the database will not restart after a shutdown due to corruption in system tablespace.
    Database is in noarchivelog mode. So online backups are not possible and there aren't any full backups either.
    I am thinking of below,
    1. Run dbms_repair with fix_block_corruption. - Still database startup might fail?
    2. Shutdown the database and take offline full backup with RMAN MAXCorrupt option.
    Appreciate your suggestions and advises.
    Thanks
    Stefan

    Thanks Sybrand,
    Agree with your first two suggestions .
    Also scheduled a expdp job tonight. (Only backup like thing they had was a expdp cron, but until today all the large tables were failing due to small undo_retention).
    Yes. Flashback is not used. So hopefully it will not affect the a database restart i guess?
    Related to dbms_repair, I was referring to - http://askdba.org/weblog/2010/08/physical-corruption-ora-1578-part-3/.
    Where DBMS_REPAIR.FIX_CORRUPT_BLOCKS and DBMS_REPAIR.SKIP_CORRUPT_BLOCKS used.
    Which i think will not use any redo.
    Thanks
    Stefan

  • Is it Possible in Purchase Order that putting the BOM, all the components ?

    Is it Possible in Purchase Order that putting the BOM, all the components of that particular ges populated in the Rowt ? This is necessary to select single - single items is PO..
    We are also using MRP and Forecast. We want to use this method in case of placing URGENT Purchase Order without considering WH stock + PO ordered + ....................
    What kind of Query we would write , that  putting the BOM in the UDF, the componenets get populated in Purchase Order...
    Please give complete query.................

    The query I have provided earlier needs to be set in the ItemCode field at the row level and not on your User field at the header.
    The query below (same as earlier with the addition of the user field name - please verify) will show the Child Items of the BOM item who code you have entered at the Header level in your UDF.
    SELECT T0.Code FROM [dbo\].[ITT1\] T0 WHERE T0.Father = $\[OPOR.U_BOMNAME]
    This will not automatically fire but the user has to first enter the Vendor Code and then enter the U_BOMName and then in the Item code field press Shift+F2 which will fire the above query FMS displaying the child Items for this BOM.
