Possible to use RMI without IIOP for EJBs?
Is it possble to use RMI on a client to connect to a remote EJB without using CORBA
(IIOP)?
How might I do it?
I'd like to avoid the CORBA overhead if possible.
Thanks.
Do I just have to replace iiop:// with t3:// in the url?

IS O&G - is it possible to use MPL without activating the ECC- DIMP?
Hi
We are an Oil and Gas industry and activated IS oil and gas in ECC6.0, our requirement is to use functionality such as Master Parts list which is there in ECC-DIMP under configuration control, as some companies within same group where MPL is required .
The question is it possible to use MPL without activating the ECC- DIMP
Request you to please help us to understand.
RegardsHi Venkat,
If a report is created over a DSO, it pulls data from the active table of a DSO. So as suggested in all the posts above it is not possiable to report on the DSO without activating it.
Activation of DSO only allows to generate SID's to link transaction data and master data, SID's could also be generated at the time of reporting (When the report fetches data from BI server, but for the SID generation data is needed in active table). Also activation checks the correctness of data etc.
Could you please let know why you want to report on the unactive request, is it having some problem with activation?

Is it possible to use SCOM without an Opertaional database? (and without the data warehouse).
Hi,
No, it is not possible, you must at least have the Operational Database. But please check Microsoft Monitoring Agent, is that what you are looking for?

Is it possible to use ERMS without Interaction Center
Hi experts,
We have a requirement wherein we want to receive email from our customer. The system should automatically create Service Request from Incoming Email. The Service Request should get automatically routed to the respective Orgs. The agents should be able to send emails from Service Request using Tracking ID. I understand that all this can be achieved using ERMS and Interaction Center. My concern is that we do not intend to use Interaction Center. Would it be possible to use ERMS without Interaction Center (using any business roles of Type: CRM Webclient and not IC Webclinet). Please advice.
Regards,
Namita
Edited by: Namita Singh on Aug 13, 2010 7:09 AMHi Harish,
Thanks for the response. Our requirement is to create Service Request automatically as soon as an email reach the SAP system. these are external email sent by customers. But we do not have any plans of using Interaction Center. I was investigating if this can be possible at all. Any put would certainly be hlepful.

In my family we have 3IPhones 4S, one IPhone5, one IPad3, one IPadMini and two IPad 4. Is it possible to use the same energieadapter for all of those ?
Yes but the iPhone chargers will struggle to charge the iPads ,they need more power than the iPhone chargers produce and with an iPad will charge VERY slowly
The iPad chargers whether 10w or 12 will happily charge all your devices and Apple confirms the compatibility on the relevant web page. -

Yes. Technically there will not be any conflict as long as the private addresses used by the 2 clusters do not collide, and provided that the switch's port capacity and bandwidth will not be exceeded.
Your NA (netadmin) can also configure the switch to separate the 2 Interconnects from one another (called partitioning when using Infiniband) - if the switch supports such features.
A major consideration is not to make the switch, public. That typically cause a range of problems and can have a serious impact on an Interconnect. But using 2 private networks on the same infrastructure should not have the same problems - if configured and implemented correctly. -
Possible to use RMI to upload client side image files?
Is it possible to use RMI to upload client side image files? My intent is to allow remote clients to upload a number of small image files (jpg & gif) to a central server DBMS, by modifying a "Customer" object (eg adding a new Image object to a vector of Images?) Is this possible? Any suggestions greatly appreciated :))
Is it possible to use RMI to upload client side image
files? One possibility is to implement a serializable image object that you can upload to the server as any other object. When your server receives this serialized image object, just generate a new gif/jpg from it.
But if your client-program is an applet, the situation is different: how can applet read image-file from users harddrive?

Is it possible to use a still store for colorcorrection in FCP X like also exists similar to Color?
DDo you want the image for comparison or to store the correction? If it's just for comparison, the roundabout way is to export a still frame and reimport it.

Im completely new to Mac. Im swapping my windows laptop for macbook pro and looking for network storage solution which the Time Capsule seems to do. Is it possible to use this as NAS for my desktop Windows PC - windows 7
Broadly speaking I want some sort of network storage( wireless or through my existing wifi router) that I can access files for both my windows PC and Macbook and also to access files to my iPad/ iPhone. Some sort of backup and sychronisation so that I can access certain files remotely.
Buy a real NAS.. synology or QNAP are the standard... although companies like Netgear and Western Digital and Seagate make them as well.
There is no problem sharing between Mac and PC now.. you do not even need a NAS to do that.. you simply share the hard disk directly. Mac talk SMB.. everything talks SMB nowadays.. so it is easy.
ipad and iphone are not designed to use NAS.. they are designed to backup only to the cloud or itunes.. but you can load an app like file browser if you want.
http://www.stratospherix.com/products/filebrowser/
Remote access to the Apple TC is somewhere between difficult, to impossible from a PC.. Apple use BTMM and iCloud but the service is not offered to PC.
A real NAS will offer HTTPS or SFTP or several other methods.. that both Mac and PC can use.
You simply plug it into the current wireless router.. it is a network device and assessable over the network. It is not necessary to buy another router.. in fact that is a waste. -
Is it possible to use Apple's fonts for commercial use?
Is it possible to use Apple's fonts for commercial use?
Thank you very much.Here's a look at the font agreement section from OS X Mountain Lion:
E. Fonts. Subject to the terms and conditions of this License, you may use the fonts included with the Apple Software to display and print content while running the Apple Software; however, you may only embed fonts in content if that is permitted by the embedding restrictions accompanying the font in question. These embedding restrictions can be found in the Font Book/Preview/Show Font Info panel.
So basically, you need to examine the fonts to see if there are notes on usage restrictions or limitations. -
What are the limitations of using RMI over http with EJB?
We have a requirement for an intranet application where the majority of the clients
(Swing clients) will be able to connect directly using either T3 or IIOP. However,
there are a number of clients that will need to traverse a firewall.
We could use SOAP, but I dont want to lose the value that RMI gives us (clustering,
security, statefullness support etc). I am thinking of using RMI over http - which
Weblogic supports.
I have been trying to find some documentation on the topic - but havent succeded
so far. What I would like to understand is: What limitations I would have using
RMI over http. Do I lose anything (apart from performance) using http?
Regards,
NickYou will have to enable tunneling on the server side and I have not heard of any
complaints of using it.

The biggest problem with the approach of Applets like
stuff connecting to weblogic is the size of the classes that need to
be supplied to the
users. The applets/swing would need a lot of weblogic classes which you
need to
supply as jar file. This file can be in the order of MBs depending on
the
weblogic version. we had a similar kind of problem and migrated the applets
to use
servlets instead of directly invoking ejbs or jms topics etc. Having
the applets
connect
to servlets you would still benefit from the features of clustering etc.
and added to
that
you would reduce the number of remote calls.

Is it possible to use board without MAX
Hi All,
I am develloping an Application that will use a NI USB measurement module. This Application is going to be distributed and used in the production in different industries.
I don't want that an operator can change the channel settings in the MAX, because this could make the measured results worthless. I have heard, that it is possible to controll a board without the MAX under CVI, but LabVIEW needs the MAX. Is it possible to use the dlls that are used with CVI in LabVIEW as well and controll a board without even installing the MAX.
Best Regards

To call methods inside the same application is possible to use RMI ?
hello,
What I should like to know is if RMI can easily be used to implement comunication (calling methods) inside classes that are part of the one same application... This should be a restrict case to use RMI...
The reason to do it come from the need to use the instance of a class knonwing it only as Object... This can be good to do if some code is used for general pupose in many different contexts.
In this case you can pass to the "server class" a parameter 'o' of type Object (all the classes extend Object) of the "customer class" to get back informations if some elaboration happen inside the "server class"...
This purpose is generally implemented with event listeners, but perhaps it could be done easily using RMI too (I dont know it...).
Using RMI in this simple situation, don't should require anything of complicate (stub, .... mashalling parametres....) to have the reference to method of the "customer class" to call. The "server class" already recives a reference of the "customer class" how parameter of type Object, and the mame of the method too.
I propose a simple thoeric example to explain really what I said before:
Class Server {
String methodName;
Object obj;
pubic Server( Oject o , String metName){ // constructor
obj = o;
methodName = metName;
// some thing is done and, at last, the method callbakMethod() is executed
callbakMethod();
}// constructor
public void callbakMethod(){ // this method have the purpose to call customerMethod()
Class c = owner.getClass();
Method m = null;
try {
m = c.getMethod("callBackMethod",null);
* // (1)
// I think that here we could have the possibility to call
// the method customerMethod() belonging to class Customer..
// I don't know if it possible and ... (and if it is possible) I am not able to do it*
}// callbakMethod()
} // class Server
Class Custmer{
public Customer() { // constructor
Server s = new Server (this, "customerMethod");
} // constructor
customerMethod() { // I would this method is called from class Server
// do some thing.....
} //customerMethod
} // class CustomerMy ask is: it is possible to call customerMethod() from the Server class ?...
If the aswer is yes, I wold know the sintax to use to do it, please.
thank you
regards
tonyMrsangeloRMI doesn't help you in the slightest here. You can just realize it all using local method invocation. All RMI does is to make that remote. If the objects aren't remote there is no point.

SSL Certificate for cn=abc.com considering abc.com as our major domain. now we have servers in this domain like www.abc.com, a.abc.com , b.abc.com etc. we installed the verisign certificate and configured ACE-20 accordingly for ssl-proxy and we will use same certificate gerated for abc.com for all servers like www.abc.com , a.abc.com , b.abc.com etc. Now when we are trying to access https//www..abc.com or https://a.abc.com through mozilla , we are able to access the service but we are getting this message in certfucate status " you are connected to abc.com which is run by unknown "
And the same message when trying to access https://www.abc.com from Google Chrome.
"This is probably not the site you are looking for! You attempted to reach www.abc.com, but instead you actually reached a server identifying itself as abc.com. This may be caused by a misconfiguration on the server or by something more serious. An attacker on your network could be trying to get you to visit a fake (and potentially harmful) version of adgate.kfu.edu.sa. You should not proceed"
so i know as this certficate is for cn=abc.com that is why we are getting such errors/status in ssl certficate.
Now my question is
1. Is is possible to remove above errors doing some ssl configuration on ACE?
2. OR we have to go for VerisgnWildcard Secure Site Pro Certificate for CSR generated uisng cn =abc.com to be installed on ACE and will be used for all servers like www.abc.com , a.abc.com etc..
Thanks
WaliullahIf you want to use the same VIP and port number for multiple FQDNs, then you will need to get a wildcard certificate. Currently, if you enter www.abc.com in your browser, that is what the browser expects to see in the certificate. And right now it won't beause your certificate is for abc.com. You need a wildcard cert that will be for something like *.abc.com.
Hope this helps,
Sean
