Postcard Viewer

I used a Postcard viewer script in Lightroom (also available
as add-on in Photoshop) which creates a folder with the html coded
page and all other files needed to view the page. Is there a way to
add that to an existing page on a website. I would like to avoid
having it as a pop up window. I'd like to find a way to have the
photos pop from the center of a page with other elements around
it.

Do I need to create a folder/index file on my FTP
Yes.
Read this very very carefully :
If your postcard slideshow is in a folder titled PostcardViewer and you place it in your iDisk/Web/Sites folder the URL you would use in the code above would be http://web.me.com/MMeaccountname/SimpleViewerSS/PostcardViewer/index.html. The height and width on this example is 700 x 800.
but I don't understand the "URL to the index.html file that's created inside the slideshow folder on the hosting server" bit.
This is the URL to the index.html files that's created inside the slideshow folder on the hosting server :
http://web.me.com/MMeaccountname/SimpleViewerSS/PostcardViewer/index.html
Use you OWN URL to the server where you host your slideshow.
Instead of this part of the URL : web.me.com/MMeaccountname
Use this : www.yourowndomain.com/

  • Print an Airtight Postcard viewer

Does anyone know if it is possible to print an airtight postcard viewer within LR, in addition to posting it on the web?
    Thanks!

You need to replace the XXX and XX with the pixel dimensions that you want the frame to be. Also I would change PXFRAMEBORDER="0" to PX FRAMEBORDER="0". Running those together may also be part of the problem.
Give this a try and then adjust to your page:
<IFRAME SRC = "http://web.me.com/dieselusvisual/PostcardViewer/index.html" WIDTH="700" px HEIGHT="800" px FRAMEBORDER="0" --if "0" no border, otherwise "1" with borderMARGINWIDTH ="0px" MARGINHEIGHT="0px" SCROLLING="no" --"no"no scrolling bar, "yes" show always, "auto" showed when need > Your browser does not support IFRAME </IFRAME>
I just tried the above and it worked for me. However, some of the pictures fall outside of the frame. You might recreate the slideshow with just 3 photos/columns across to keep them all in a page. Or adjust the thumbnail size along with the frame size to get more columns and keep them all in the frame.

  • PostCard Viewer - how to, for complete dummies!

I've found this HTML snippet at http://web.me.com/toad.hall/Demo_3/Postcard.html which would look great on a website I'm making. However, it's the first HTML snippet I've put in so far, so I'm a bit confused!
I know how to put the provided snippet into iWeb, but I don't understand the "URL to the index.html file that's created inside the slideshow folder on the hosting server" bit... Do I need to create a folder/index file on my FTP? And how to I then add the photos to the album in iWeb?
Please, treat me as a complete idiot & newcomer - I think I need the basics first!
    Thanks,
    greg

  • Simple viewer integration

Can anyone tell me how to integrate a simple viewer gallery into my iweb site through .mac?
    thanks
    s

    Svendo,
So on my photo page, I started with a blank template. Then I drew a text box just big enough to accomodate my gallery viewer (908x522). I then typed some placeholder text "PHOTOGALLERY" and then published the page. Then I found the page.html file and opened it with my text editor and found the PHOTOGALLERY placeholder text. I replaced this text with the iframes code below...
    <iframe src="http://homepage.mac.com/jwtseng/1/" width="908" height="522" scrolling="no" border="0" style="border:none;" frameborder="0"></iframe>
Save and that's it. So for your own gallery, you'll need to determine the dimensions and edit the width and height values. And obviously you'll need to edit your own URL depending on where you end up saving the folder. Just think of the iframes concept as a webpage within a webpage and it will become clearer.
The gallery that you see is composed with a free app called "Expose" It is wonderful and has a Mac gallery manager available. I like the AirtightInteractive templates as well (simpleviewer, postcard viewer, autoviewer). But I like the whole gallery in one idea...today. Haha...
Hopefully you have found to be helpful or even an answer to your questions.

  • Upgrade Simple Viewer

The "Simple Viewer" website indicates that the viewer will now work with iPhones and other non-Flash enable applications. Yet, when I build a gallery in Bridge using Simple Viewer it does not work without Flash. Is this an upgrade issue? And, does anyone know how to upgrade so that it will work through Bridge?

Well, you are probably correct. It is included with the default installation of Bridge as one of the slide show templates. When you open the output tab in bridge and create a web gallery, there are three "Airtight" options: Airtight Postcard Viewer, Airtight Auto Viewer and Airtight Simple Viewer. "Simple Viewer" is a nice, simple web gallery show that looks good when embedded into a Dreamweaver page.
But, as I said, it only works if Flash is installed. When I went to the Simple Viewer website (via the hot link embedded into the template in Bridge) the description says it works on iPhones and other browsers that do not have Flash installed. So, I was just trying to figure out why it says that, when the version that came with Bridge does not work on sites that don't use Flash.
I'm guessing that Adobe Bridge uses an older version of Airtight Simple Viewer and 1) I am a little surprised that they don't update it since it comes with the default installation of Bridge and 2) since it was installed with Bridge, I'm not sure how to update it even if I download the update file -- I don't know where Adobe Bridge puts the file or what I have to do to update it. The Simple VIewer site allows you to download the product and run it as a separate action, but I did not find any instructions on how to incorporate it into Bridge, so that if replaces/updates the Bridge plug-in.
I was just hoping for some guidance, thinking (apparently incorrectly) that Adobe would offer some support/assistance/guidance for a product they include with their default installation of Bridge.

  • Swf inside fla stage?

    Hello,
I've tried searching on the net on how to do this and there are several answers but none worked for me.  I have a swf which I wish to insert inside the flash stage.  This swf is the airtight postcard viewer.  The stage is basically a picture of a table top table with the left side having some objects.  I want to be able to tween the postcard viewer onto the right side of the table so the pictures scatter out on the right 2/3 and not interfere with the objects or "fall off " the table...once the viewer is done looking at the gallery and click on another link, then all the pics move/tween out (onRelease) as a group out of the way and new contents tween in.
I've tried creating a new object, movie clip, while inside this instance I import onto stage the swf file and back out to scene 1 and place this object onto the stage but it doesnt work.  I can see the swf on the stage but it wont play!
I get ghis error which said "statement must appear within on/onClip Event handler..."
    Please help, thank you!

You will need to use loadMovie() to bring that, or any other, .swf into your current movie. To use loadMovie(), you will need to have a target movieClip on the stage. You will be loading the .swf into this target. Look at the online help for more information on this method.

  • Simpleviewer in iweb site

    Hi
Can anyone tell me how to insert a simpleviewer slideshow into a blank iweb page?
    Thanks in advance,
    Stu

It looks like you may not have uploaded all the files created by simple viewer and/or not renamed the index.html file.
Go to Finder/Go/iDisk/My iDisk/Web/Sites and here you should see your main website folder and an index.html file. This is where the simple viewer files go. Note that there is another index.html file associated with your website. Therefore you CANNOT upload the index.html file created by simple viewer without changing its name as per the instructions. You can't have two files of the same name in the same folder. If you tried to upload this file it is possible that it has overwritten the index file created by iWeb. If you have problems viewing the rest of your site, refresh this file or republish.
So, first of all, look at the files generated by simple viewer. Make sure you rename the index.html.
I don't have a list of simple viewer files at hand but here are the ones produced by Postcard Viewer..
    flash_detect.js
    imagedata.xml
    images
    index.html
    thumbs
    viewer.swf
Just to confuse you even more, you can put the simple viewer files inside your main website folder but that means you would have to refresh the slideshow files every time you updated you site as iWeb will overwrite them.
You'll have to figure out the URL for your slideshow. If you were using a .Mac URL it would be something like.....
    http://web.mac.com/myname/Slideshow.html
When you select the image as a hyperlink to the slideshow use Link to "an external page" and check the "open page in a new window" box so that viewers can easily get back to your site.

  • I don't want a slideshow

Brand new to iWeb. I want to create a simple gallery page, that will have thumbnails in a grid on one side, and when you click the thumbnail, you get a full size photo on the other side. I don't want visitors to have to go through a slideshow, I just want them to click on a thumbnail that looks interesting, and be able to see the whole photo, on the same page. Is that possible?
This is kind of what I'm going for:
    http://www.cherylgraham.net/digital/

You can get that kind of effect with Simpleviwer.
    http://www.airtightinteractive.com/simpleviewer/
You can also install FAExporter as an iPhoto plugin instead of using iPhoto Export.app.
Here's a page that demonstrates Postcard Viewer which is available from the same developer.....

But seriously. I've seen a few decent Flash slideshows, but I don't have Flash. Just need something to cylce through all my thumbnails, maybe just form them into one line to lessen the clutter.

    slideshows by AirTightInteractive?
    SimpleViewer
    PostcardViewer
    AutoViewer
Yes, these are all Flash slideshows, but they don't
require you to have the Flash application. Basically
the customization requires scaling your photos,
generation of thumbnails, and editing the photonames
    into the XML template.
All of this is automated using iPhoto Export. There are
    also Photoshop plugins available somewhere.
    Hi James,
Thanks again for answering my questions about my QT movies on another post.
My question is about SimplerViewer or Postcard Viewer. Once I have it ready to go etc and lets say I want to add more pictures to the album down the road do I have to redo the coding etc all over again? Is there a script I can run so I don't have to deal with that headache?? Thanks. Eric

  • M4-bloggery: another static website generator (only reqs. Make & M4)

Just what we need: yet another static website generator.
I grew frustrated with all the static website generators out there that have heavy dependencies on millions of Python or Ruby libraries. True, there is nanoblogger but I found it to be extremely slow and full of features that I really don't need, since I'm not a heavy blogger. There are probably others too, but I didn't find anything that fit for me. Fortunately, I found m4-bakery, which is a static site generator that uses only Make and m4 (and optionally markdown). I'm pretty sure that project was made only as a proof-of-concept, though, and it lacked some basic functionality that I needed, namely a news/blog index and an Atom XML feed.
So, I forked the project and expanded it a bit to make it more functional. I've now split off a clean repository containing only a skeleton, so it's easy to clone it and get started with your own site.
    Pages/posts have a simple format:
    TITLE({"page title"})
    DATE({"2013-02-19 23:01"})
    UPDATE({""})
    BODY({"{"
    Here's some text.
New news/blog posts can be easily created:
    $ make new-post TITLE="A post about nothing"
This would create a file at src/news/2013-02-19-a-post-about-nothing.md.m4.
Once you're done writing, you simply do:
    $ make all deploy
This runs all *.md.m4 files through markdown to create *.html.m4 files, then it runs all *.html.m4 files and templates and through m4 to create the final HTML files. These are copied to the folder "dst" and then deployed via rsync.
It's quite self-contained: all the logic is in one hackable Makefile. All other customization is done in the HTML templates and the CSS. The defaults are quite basic, since I hate web design (in fact, the defaults are just what I used for my own website).
You can find the repository on Gitorious:
    https://gitorious.org/bi-websites/m4-bloggery
I hope someone finds it useful!

  • Idisk password issues + simpleviewer quality issues + google verifying prob

I recently published my website using iweb and used dot.tk to forward my domain name. I have also embeded simpleviewer to show my pictures. This seemed to all go fine until i made a few changes to try and increase the quality of the images which for some reason had strange inpurities on the sides of them. Although the quality did not increase, the page with the images now demands a password to view it. The message says idisk 80 requires a password. I have not set this and have made my idisk public in an attempt to solve this. I have searched many messageboards for answers, but none have helped. Any ideas? I am getting desperate.
I can also not verify my site with google. The html file method told be that a status of 200 was not correct and the meta method said it could not find it.
    Thank you for your help.
    Stefan
    The site is: www.sealeyphotography.tk

The Google HTML file needs to go in the Finder/Go/iDisk/My iDisk/Web/Sites folder.
If you put it in the folder containing your website files, it gets wiped out every time you upload changes to your site.
The URL you give to Google is.....
    http://web.me.com/username/
That's the problem with MobileMe - or one of them.
If you are uploading a sitemap it has to go in the same place for the same reason.
If you have more than one website, you can have as many HTML verification files in the "Sites" folder but you can only have one sitemap.xml. Any others have to be in the actual website folder and need to be re-uploaded every time you publish.
I haven't used SimpleViewer but I do have an example of PostCard viewer uploaded to my server.
The files are uploaded to the main website folder and don't get overwritten because I tell my FTP application not to do this!
If you upload the files to your website folder on your iDisk they will get overwritten every time you publish. Therefore, they would be better to be in the Finder/Go/iDisk/My iDisk/Web/Sites folder.
SimpleViewer generates six items. The index.html file should be renamed something like SimpleViewer.html. The URL will be.....
    http://web.me.com/username/SimpleViewer.html.
Create a link to your slideshow in your website, select it as an external link set to open in a new window.

  • Photo slideshow on Blog Page

    Question specifically for James Tseng...
    1. how do you get photo's to appear randomly and overlay one another on your "blog pages"
    2. And how do you get multi images to display as mini slideshows within the i-web photo template pages
Are these third party tools you've used or features readily available within i-web.
Can't help but admire your creativity. Thank you.

Hey great work so far Mr Peebly! So sorry your thread slipped past me.
So when you open up your slideshow, check out how it interacts with the browser window. Resize the browser window by dragging the lower right hand corner smaller and larger. You will see that at a certain "wideness" your slideshow starts to recenter itself in the browser window. And at a certain "narrowness" your browser starts to put horizontal scroll bars on. This point is the exact minimum width of your slideshow and will need to be the minimum width of your <iframe>. Remember that your iframe functions like a mask, so you will want your entire slideshow to show through centered in the iframe....so you must adhere to this minimum width.
The vertical width is going to depend on how many photos and in how many columns you choose to put them. You see how your photos overflow the vertical dimensions of the page? you can go back later and experiment with iPhoto Export and see if you can better fit your photos into maybe 7 columns. but then check the minimum width as above again!
So basically to get the dimensions of your slideshow, the main thing is the minimum width. For the Postcard Viewer vertical dimension is not as important, but you want to be able to see your whole slideshow. So once you have your slideshow fixed (thumbnail-wise). Drag the browser to the point where there are no scroll bars and no re-centering. The easiest way I know of to get the dimensions of something is to use the screengrab function Apple-Shift-4 and draw a box around the slideshow. The do a Get Info (Apple-i) on the screenshot file and you will see dimensions listed there under more info. These will be the dimensions to use in your <iframes> expression as well as the size of your text box to make in iWeb.
So here we are...almost there... so far your iframes expression looks like this...
    <iframe src="http://homepage.mac.com/paul.best/Slideshows" width="xxx" height="xxx" scrolling="no" border="0" style="border:none;" frameborder="0"></iframe>
Keep up the good work! I'm looking forward to seeing your finished product!

  • How do I print 4x6 photos on an HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus via Windows Photo Viewer or Gallery

Dear Experts, I've got an HP Officejet Pro 8600 printer with just one paper tray in which I loaded 4x6 photo paper.
The printer was purchased in January 2014, the latest drivers are installed. Now I would like to print a single 4x6 photo using Windows Photo Viewer or Gallery.I loaded the 4x6 photo paper  into the tray as indicated by the little icon labeled 4x6in, so I suppose I got the HW part right. It's just the SW part which gives me a hard time. The available paper size options in Windows Photo Viewer and Gallerydon't include photo paper sizes, just the standard paper and envelope sizes.Hence I checked in the HP Printer Assistant in "Set Preferences" what kind of paper sizes are available, and there is exactly the same list as proposed by Gallery, missing photo paper sizes. So I guess Gallery just picks the sizes from the driver and ther are no photo paper sizes. This is an issue because I prefer to print from my PC using Win 7 or Win 8 and not from a SD card or a USB stick. Any help is very welcome, thank you in advance!

Thank you for this link! Actually I installed a brand new Windows 8 system in January 2014 and then bought the HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus printer a few days later. To install this printer I did not use the CD that came with it but already used this link. Just to be sure that I have the latest version I again reinstalled the driver. The result is definitive: You cannot print common photo paper sizes like 4x6,  5x7, 8x10, etc. via a PC using photo SW like HP Photo Creations, MS Gallery, Windows Photo Viewer or any other SW on a HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus. The reason is most likely that HP marketing decided that an Officejet should not be smart enough for photos, after all the company sells also Photosmarts. Because you cannot create your own formats  you are limited by the driver to what is typically available in an office, in this case:  A4, Letter, legal, Statement, Executive, A4, A5, A6, B54 (JIS), Envelopes #10-DL-C5-C6-A2-Monarch, Japanese Postcard, Japanese Envelope Chou #3-#4, L, 2L, O**bleep**u hagaki, Index Card Letter-A4, Edge-to-Edge Letter-A4, Env. Japanese No 3-No 4 and that's it, not more. Thank you anyway for trying to help me but in this case only the SW developers in HP can help.It would be great to be able to print from time to time a 4x6 photo on this printer like I would do.Copying photos on a USB stick or on a SD card first and then use this way to print on the printer is too cumbersome for me.
