  • JEditorPane can't handle POST from HTML form?

    I posted this before but i never got an answer so i'll try again :-)
    Im running a tomcat server were i have a jsp script that uploads files to the server. What i need to do to is to use a regular java application for the rest of the "project" im working on.
    And i can get the JSP page to be displayed properly using JEditorPane but i cant get the html FORM POST in the JSP to execute... i dont know if theres some limits in JEditorPane or if im just using the wrong type of approach on this one.
    This is the server
    http://chilly-schrimp.kicks-ass.org/uploadbean/SimpleUpload.jsp
    (only works if my computer is turned on)
    Heres the code:
    =======================================================================
    import javax.swing.*;
    import javax.swing.event.*;
    import java.io.*;
    public class JSPtest {
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    JEditorPane pane = null;
    try {
    pane = new JEditorPane("http://chilly-schrimp.kicks-ass.org/uploadbean/SimpleUpload.jsp");
    catch (IOException ex) {
    ex.printStackTrace(System.err);
    System.exit(1);
    pane.setEditable(false);
    // Add a hyperlink listener.
    final JEditorPane finalPane = pane;
    pane.addHyperlinkListener(new HyperlinkListener() {
    public void hyperlinkUpdate(HyperlinkEvent ev) {
    try {
    if (ev.getEventType() == HyperlinkEvent.EventType.ACTIVATED)
    finalPane.setPage(ev.getURL());
    } catch (IOException ex) { ex.printStackTrace(System.err); }
    JFrame frame = new JFrame();
    frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
    frame.setContentPane(new JScrollPane(finalPane));
    frame.setSize(350,400);
    frame.setVisible(true);
    =======================================================================
    any suggestions??
    thanx
    /eric

    I am using request.getParameter(passed variable name)
    to pass data from HTML form to JSP with no problem.
    WHen I try to pass data from HTML form of
    multipart/form-dta type to JSP as following:
    < form enctype="multipart/form-data" name="theForm"
    method="post"
    ACTION="http://titan.ssd.loral.com:7778/ifs/jsp-bin/if
    -cts/stringsecond.jsp">
    The passed value is null. Why?because the jsp most likely does not handling of POST parameters like this.
    How can I pass data successfully from this form to
    JSP?jsp's are not meant to read such amounts of data. this (= uploading) is a typical task for a specialized servlet. there you have full control over input and output. if you need to, you can still forward to a jsp after processing in the servlet.
    How can I pass data from JavaScript to JSP???? i'm not sure what exactly you mean. normally you put it into an url and submit it.

  • Solved: process POST from html form

    Hello,
    I have the next question, I have a public website (in an other technology) that uses the "POST" method of an html form to navigate to my application.
    One of the fields on the html form is the field "name".
    I was wondering if their is any possibility to get the value of the field "name" when I come on my ApEx page?
    I hope i'm making some sense here.
    Thanks in advance
    Kind regards,
    Oli

  • Read values from html response

    Hi,
    I am trying to make a call to an API using UTL_HTTP POST method over SSL and read the response html page and extract the values from the reponse.
    I am able to call and get a response back in html format. I have stored the html response in a clob variable.
    Now i want to parse this html and extract values from the form input items and send them out through OUT parameters.
    For example, from below reponse i want to extract the value '1111d7nhcwse30wq' from 'I4GO_UNIQUEID'
    Can anyone help me with the code to parse this html response and extract the values.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Here is working example for your HTML using xpath to extract values from html
    You can store your html response in clob variable and then extract the value with xpath
    declare
       l_clob clob;
       l_value varchar2(100);
       l_xml xmltype;
      begin
         l_clob :='<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

  • Http post from an application with file attachment

    Hi ! I didn't know where else to post this message...
    I'm trying to make a HTTP POST from an application and upload a file with it. I have no problems with the posting, just that I haven't got any ideas how to get the file uploaded as well. I've been reading loads of examples regarding the topic, and searching older posts the forum here, without any help.
    Here's the method i'm using:
                   // open connections
                  URL url = new URL ("TheURL");
                   URLConnection urlConn = url.openConnection();
                              // We do input & output, without caching
                   urlConn.setDoInput (true);
                   urlConn.setDoOutput (true);
                   urlConn.setUseCaches (false);
                              // multipart/form-data because we want to upload a file
                     urlConn.setRequestProperty ("Content-Type", "multipart/form-data");
                  // Open output stream
                     DataOutputStream printout = new DataOutputStream (urlConn.getOutputStream ());
                  // Set the actual content
                     String content = "upfile=" + System.getProperty("user.dir") + "\\file.ext&";
                       content += "other_key-value_pairs";
                  // write the data to stream, and flush it.
                     printout.writeBytes (URLEncoder.encode(content));
                   printout.flush ();
                   printout.close ();
                   // Get the response.
                     DataInputStream input = new DataInputStream (urlConn.getInputStream());
                   FileOutputStream fos=new FileOutputStream("postto.txt");
                   String str;
                     BufferedReader bufr = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(input));
                  // Write response to outputfile
                     while (null != ((str = bufr.readLine()))) {
                         if (str.length() >0) {
                         fos.write(str.getBytes());
                         fos.write(new String("\n").getBytes());
                   input.close ();Now, the response here I get from the url i'm posting to is "Failure, no data-file". I've tried many diff methods of writing the file to the stream, but always get the same result.
    I need to file attached like it would be when using a HTML form's <input type="file">.
    Please help ! This is getting really urgent !

    String content = "upfile=" + System.getProperty("user.dir") + "\\file.ext&";
    content += "other_key-value_pairs";
    printout.writeBytes (URLEncoder.encode(content));
    printout.flush ();
    printout.close ();Actually, what this does is create a request like:
    GET /path/to/file/script.language?upfile=/home/user/file.ext&other=params HTTP/1.1
    Content-Type: multipart/form-data
    -- And other HTTP params --
    The file is not actually appended to the request.
    I really don't know how Java handles the file upload, but you could do it by hand, like so:
    public static void doFileUpload(String url, String filename, Hashtable params) throws IOException {
        // Construct the request
        String boundary = "----------------------mUlTiPaRtBoUnDaRy";
        String request_head = "POST " + url + " HTTP/1.0\r\n" +
                                         "Content-type: multipart/form-data; boundary=" + boundary + "\r\n";
        String request_body = boundary + "\r\n\r\nContent-disposition: form-data; name=\"upload\"" +
                                         "\r\n\r\n";
        BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(new FileInputStream(filename)));
        int b = -1;
        while((b = in.read()) != -1) {
             request_body += (char)b;
        in.close();
        Enumeration keys = params.keys();
        while(keys.hasMoreElements()) {
            String key = keys.nextElement();
            requst_body += "\r\n" + boundary + "\r\n\r\nContent-type: form-data; name=\"key\"\r\n" +
                                    (String)params.get(key);
        request_body += "\r\n" + boundary + "--\r\n";
        int length = request_head.length() + request_body.length() + "Content-length: \r\n";
        String req_length = "Content-length: " + (length + new String("" + length).length()) + "\r\n";
        Socket socket = new Socket(url,80);
        PrintStream stream = socket.getOutputStream();
        stream.print(request_head + req_length + req_body);
        // And now an option to read the response, I will omit that...
    }Note: I have not tested this code, just wrote it up out of memory. If it does not work, it will propably need some small fixes.

  • Pass data to JSP from HTML?

    I can pass the data in a HTML form without problem if the form is in the same jsp file. I have no problem to pass data from one jsp file to another one. But when the jsp file has to take the data passed from calling HTML file and has to receive the data from the same jsp file, then the data from other HTML file will be null the first time runing the code, then second time will be passed right. If I shut down computer run the code again, same problem until the second time. Please tell me why if any of you know!

    yes. The first part is HTML file which use the form to pass v_progname, the second part is a jsp file, it suppose to get the data in v_prgname, but the first time to run this code always get null, then the second time get the right data?

  • Posting From IE11 in Windows 8.1

    I've put up a couple of test systems on the Windows 8.1 Preview, both Pro and Enterprise editions.
    Just testing to see how the forum interacts with Internet Explorer 11.  So far so good - I have been able to log in and see things looking pretty much right.
    Something I'm curious about is whether &quot;quoted&quot; strings are handled properly, because we have seen the double quote character changed to what looks like an HTML escape sequence by the forum software when IE10 under Windows 8 is used to access the forum.
    So here goes.
    &quot;Quoted text&quot;
    If the above comes out with double-quote characters at the ends, that will be happy news.
    Also, in typing this, I noticed that the forum software thinks I'm leaving the page every time I press a control - e.g., the Bold, &quot;Insert Image&quot;, or font size controls, and puts this up:
    -Noel

    Here I am, posting from a copy of Windows 8.1 RTM, available to the public for more than a week now, using the released version of IE11...
    The &quot;quoted text&quot; problem is still with us (noting the quotes on this line have been changed to HTMLese.
    The are you sure you want to navigate away from this page?  problem I reported above so long ago is still with us...
    And now we have a new problem.  The following pops up, after which you lose your post (I've had to type this twice).
    It's apalling to see how poorly Adobe is keeping up with technology.  How the hell do you folks expect to be considered the best source for content creation tools with this kind of web site management?
    Do you think no one notices?

  • How to passing value into Captivate from html?

    How to passing value into Captivate from html?
    Or
    How to communicate between objects in one slides?

    Hi czhao0378 and welcome to the forums!
    Captivate does not natively allow you to communicate your own
    data, either internally or externally. The only way to make this
    happen is to create your own functionality, either via custom-built
    Flash objects or JavaScript code executed in the browser or a
    combination of both.
    The only example I've seen of any "data passing" inside
    Captivate is a custom text input/output solution that was posted on
    the Captivate Developer Exchange:
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?event=extensionDetail&loc=en_us&extid=1253 021
    This solution consists of an input box that takes information
    from the user on one slide and a second box that displays that
    information on another slide. The functionality was built in Flash
    and is embedded in Captivate as a Flash "animation". Unfortunately,
    since this is a custom functionality, the information is not
    included in the user completion results Captivate can pass to a
    Learning Management System.
    Since the solution mentioned above relies on a Flash
    Actionscript variable to hold the information that is displayed,
    you can also pass the information from HTML to Captivate using the
    "SetVariable" command in JavaScript. This would at least allow you
    to display your own HTML-based data inside Captivate.
    Beyond that, I'm not aware of any other way to gather and
    pass data in Captivate.

  • Create RSS feed from HTML DB?

    I've been using a streaming RSS feed extension in Firefox for several months now and get feeds from all over including asktom.oracle.com and http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/htmldb/index.html. Very cool.
    Recently I've installed HTML DB and have begun creating some basic reports - nothing very dramatic as I'm just learning. Now I'd like to begin sending out RSS feeds from my HTML DB application to my RSS extension in my Firefox browser but can't find an easy way to do it.
    I see several posts of others wishing to do the opposite (read RSS feeds into their HTML DB application) but nothing that shows how to create a feed from HTML DB.
    I looked at Tom's description of his method at http://asktom.oracle.com/~sdillon/rss.html but this seems very cumbersome to me - is there an easier way?
    I would think that there should be a "create RSS" feed button somewhere in the HTML DB interface when I'm defining the page's attributes.
    Thanks in advance for any advice/suggestions.

    Actually, Tom's method is not as hard as it looks.
    You can really just copy it all into your own procedure and replace the inner query.

  • Calling JSP from HTMl

    Hi,
    I want to call a JSP file from HTML. Is it possibel? How can it be done.
    Thanks.

    download a standalone server like tomcat or jswdk. tomcat is recommended.
    if you know how to write html then make a form with your action forwarding to your jsp page and use a post or get method. actually just look here.

  • While creating pdf from html, the alignment is not proper

    Hi,
    In my application, I am creating a pdf report from html using (using Generate pdf 1.1 - HTML URL To PDF activity) which contains certain images and descriptions.
    But, while generating pdf the alignment is not proper. In the HTML there is no paging, but in the output pdf the image div is getting broken when new pages are generated.
    Some blank areas are coming the report.
    Actually I need an exact replica of the HTML as a pdf, with paging.
    Thank you in advance.

    What is the LiveCycle version?
    Is it possible for you to share an example(somewhere on public file sharing sites)?
