  • APDU commands for Globalplatform card

    Hi,
I'm trying to develop embedded software that talks to a Oberthur Cosmo 64 card via low level APDU commands. I've looked at the Globalplatform 2.1.1 specs as well as the cosmo 64 technical brief, but it seems that there are only a few APDU commands. I've only worked with native cards before this, and native cards seem to have a lot more commands. For example, I can't even find a "Get Challenge" command nor any kind of authentication/key generation/pin verification commands.
Would like to know how I can get started just sending simple APDU commands for key generation, challenge-response, authentication, etc?

    galapogos wrote:
Well I only see 10 commands under Part IV(APDU Command Reference) of the GPP 2.1.1 specs.
However when I see Appendix D I realize there's actually an initialize update and external authenticate APDU command, neither of which are found in Part IV.Yes, the commands for secure channel protocol are located in the Appendices. One can argue if this commands should be listed in APDU Command Reference, but GP Committee wanted to make is as flexible as possible in case another SCP is added, with different commands.
From what I've read so far in Appendices D/E, it seems that the difference is that
    1) SCP01 supports mutual auth while for SCP02, only the card auths the host, with an option for the reverse.
    2) For SCP01, card ensures host is genuine, but no mention of the reverse to be true. For SCP02, both host and card must be ensured to be genuine.
    3) For SCP01, data from host to card is not susceptible to sniffing(encryption?), but no mention of the reverse to be true. For SCP02, both directions are not susceptible to sniffing. You are referencing the R-MAC option. It is only present in SCP02. There is no encryption from the card side (smthg like R-ENCRYPTION), you would need to handle this in your Applet. Be aware that R-MAC is optional, depending on the security policy of the issuer. For example in JCOP, only C-MAC and C-DECRYPTION is supported. Another differences between SCP01 and SCP02:
    - The DEK in SCP02 is a session key, and in SCP01 it is static
    - The INITIALIZE UPDATE command is different regarding the P2 parameter and the structure of the response
In the latest version of GP 2.2 SCP01 is deprecated.
Seems like other than the initial authentication, SCP02 is always more secure than SCP01?I would only conclude this if R-MAC is supported in SCP02.
Also, where can I find Java Card 2.2.1/2.2.2 specs? I'm not interested in using the API since I'm developing embedded firmware, so I need to talk to the card directly via APDU commands.http://java.sun.com/products/javacard/specs.html

  • Drivers for network card Extreme 802.11 n

I´m running Mac OS X and windows vista on bootcamp.
Mac OS X is functional, ofcourse, but Vista doesn't recognise the network card.
I need Windows drivers for this.
    Where can I find this?

I know you may have already tried this but have you already installed the boot camp drivers on vista? They can be found on the Leopard install disc. The drivers for all hardware should be on that.

  • [SOLVED] Need to manually toggle rc.d/network for network card to work

I installed (or actually re-installed) Arch yesterday and have an unusual problem. After boot, I don't have internet connection and I think that the network card isn't active either because i can't see light in my switch's panel.
I have managed to get the connection to work but the procedure is pretty strange.
There's a line "interface=eth1" in my /etc/rc.conf. I change it to "interface=eth0" and execute "/etc/rc.d/network restart". For some reason it prints "RTNETLINK answers: File exists" at this point.
Now there's no internet connection nor activity in switch's panel. I change "interface=eth1" back to /etc/rc.conf and execute "/etc/rc.d/network restart". Now i can connect to internet and there's a green light in switch's panel.
According to lspci my two network cards are named "NVidia Corporation nForce2 Ethernet Controller (rev a1)"(integrated into motherboard) and "Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88E8001 Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 13)."
I already thought that maybe they are just loading in different orders at boot so I added their modules into rc.conf but it didn't do the trick. Googling about that RTNETLINK thing gave some results, but if understood them correctly, they are doing something similar what I have been doing.

I don't know if this card is Realtek based, but wiki's advice for Realtek cards worked. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ne … _WOL_issue

  • Driver for Network Card

Hi:  I put a hard drive from a working R50 loaded with
XP and other software into my T42 and of course
XP notices there is a network card it doesn't have a
driver for; It's got the driver from the R50 it used to
live in. Which driver(s) do I need?   Thanks

Your T42 only has two network adapters, one for Ethernet, the Intel Pro 100/1000 you say is installed, and the second one is for your wireless, the Intel 2200bg with the latest driver here.
But you are much better off downloading the Thinkvantage System Update (TVSU) from here and then letting TVSU update all your drivers to the current level.
    T500: Vista 32, 2.8GHz, 4GB RAM, 15.4" 1680x1050, 500GB 7200rpm, ATI Radeon HD3650 + Intel 4500MHD. T42: XP, 1.7GHz, 2GB RAM, 14.1" 1024x768, 250GB PATA, ATI Radeon 7500.

  • AEX network card compatible?

Could anyone please confirm that my AEX network card Firmware v 405.1 (3.90.34.0) is compatable with Belkin45g (802.11g) ADSL modem with wireless G router?
As have been wired with Cable Ethernet (NTL/Virgin) for last 12 months and am now switching back to a previously working Wireless network connection at home - that is currently not establishing any network/s at all!? under 'Internet connect'/Utility.
Any help would be greatly apreciated.

When connecting to a non-Apple base station, I wouldn't put too much stock in the Internet Connect status field. If you are successfully connected, it merely states "Connected to nameofwirelessnetwork".
I would suggest that you change the name of your wireless network and not use the default "belkin54g".
You may be suffering from RF interference. Other devices which operate at 2.4 GHz can negatively affect your wireless network. Try changing the channel used by the base station until you find a channel which works better or you run out of channels.

  • Oracle RAC with operating system virtual network cards

    Hi,
I have two servers with four network cards each, two for public and two for private network. Each public card has own IP-address and the both have the virtual IP-address (from OS, not from Oracle Clusterware). Each private card has own IP-address and the both have the virtual IP-address. I have full redundancy for network cards. How should define Oracle Clusterware VIP-address for each machine?
Can somebody write me sample /etc/hosts file for this configuration?
    Thanx,

  • Can anyone tell me about expiry dates for iTunes cards?

I thought that they expired either one or two years after the most recent use. Since the update to the site, I am no longer able to find either the T&Cs for iTunes cards, or details of expiry dates in My Account. Can anyone tell me where to get this info?  Thanks.

iTunes cards do not have an expiration date.  And, once you redeem them, they create a credit balance in your account, which also does not exprire.
However, nobody can guarantee that this will be permanent, so it would be best not to let them sit around for years.

  • Finding firmware version for HBA card

Does anybody knows a command in solaris 9 to display firmware version for HBA cards or other pci cards currently in system

I've not heard of a way of reading add-on card firmware levels from the OBP...
However, you might be lucky insofar that the firmware levels get displayed at boot time. Emulex cards always do this as one of the very first things that pass on the screen after powering up.

I tried to contact support but they do not recognise my Thai phone number.
the Thai support site is all in Thai (and I neither read or write it).
All I want is a single email address that works - it must be quite a simple process.
I don't want to create another account with another credit card - life will just get seriously complicated then.
BTW my apple I'd is accepted for downloading free apps!!!

First of all, you should always save you photos on computer like any other digital camera.
Backup on iCloud or iTunes only backup your Camera Roll. The other photos should be already on the computer.
Note: Photos are not saved in iTunes, it's only a conduit between your iPhone and your photo managing software on computer.
    What computer do you have?

  • Searching for Network / SIM card blocked - help please!!

I have just purchased an 8700c from a reputable eBay seller from whom I have previously purchased other items.
The 8700c was advertised as Unlocked without a SIM card.
I have never owned a Blackberry before and am just getting familiar with it.
When I click icon to 'Turn Wireless On' and press the Phone key then at top of screen displays "Searching for Network".
After a minute or so displays "No Service".
I bought the 8700c because one day my previous mobile phone did exactly the same thing.
After an hour on my landline phone with the phone company they assured me the GSM network was functional in my area and suggested my old phone was faulty.
Not knowing if the phone itself had just died or if fault was with the SIM card I took it to the local branch of the telco.
One of the guys there swapped his SIM card into my phone and had same problem - hence phone faulty.
Thinking about it later I realised that it didn't prove there wasn't also a problem with my SIM card but I thought it unlikely so decided to buy a new phone.
Anyway, received the 8700c yesterday and have inserted my old SIM card, been reading manual, etc.
Whilst learning how to use it I've been asked several times to enter a password.
Assuming this was the PIN/password I had on my old phone to prevent use in case I lost the phone, I entered it and it was accepted without any error/warning.
So I thought I was right in believing the PIN/password was stored on the SIM and not another code, maybe in some EPROM memory in the old phone - I'm not so sure now.
Doing a Google search I've found mention of various PIN/PIN2/PUK/PUK2 codes used in mobile phones which, if not used correctly, can cause the phone to be locked permanently.
Here's current information I've found on the 8700c:
click icon Settings / Options / Status shows
          PIN:      {8 alphanumeric code}
          IMEI:     { 6 digits .00. 6 digits .5}      i.e 15 digits and 3 periods
click icon Settings / Options / Advanced Options / SIM Card shows
          SIM Card: Blocked
          ID:     {20 digit number}
    click icon Phone shows
          My Number: Unknown
click again to see list of items, scroll down to Options
click again to see list of items headed Phone Options
    click on General Options
the 'Show "My Number":' line has value Yes
click icon Settings / Options / Network shows
          Network: * None *
          Network Selection Mode: Automatic
click again to see list of items, scroll to My Preferred Network List
click again to see one item which is GSM network associated with my old phone
So it seems this has been found from the SIM card.
The top left hand side of screen shows 'cingular' but I think I read somewhere that this was just the network for which the 8700c was originally issued and doesn't detemine whether the 8700c is currently locked/unlocked.
Is 'My Number' Unknown because the SIM card is Blocked?
Is the SIM card Blocked because I entered my old PIN password instead of the Settings / Options / Status alphanumeric code PIN or some other PIN?
How can I determine if the 8700c is really unlocked?
Are there some other settings/options or anything else I should do so I can get connected to the network?
Any thoughts would be very welcome.

I am having exactly the same problem mate. Never used a Blackberry - received mine today from eBay (Didn't include a manual) and i have been trying to configure it with no luck. I can't connect to a Network/My SIM Card is blocked/My number is unknown - Even though my SIM works perfectly in my Sony Ericsson. Have no idea what to do. Any help would be appreciated.

Which one can I use properly to monitor all the wireless Devices in my hous

Actually, none of the options will do what you are looking for it to do. That is because, this application only monitors the traffic from the device it is hosted on. That would also mean that you would have to run a copy on each computer that will access the Internet on your network; note their individual usages, and then, combine them to get an idea of the total usage.
However, if you are only interested in the amount of Wi-Fi traffic that only your computer is seeing, then the "AirPort Network Card" option would be the correct choice.

Debit cards are no longer accepted in the iTunes Store, it seems. The current valid payment methods are listed here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5552
You can try contacting the iTunes Store and asking if there is any way to use your card, but they probably will tell you that it's not possible.
    http://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html
Using a debit card in any online service where it stores your card is a bad idea in any case since if someone gains access to your account in the service, they can quickly drain your bank account. Credit cards limit your liability, as do prepaid iTunes cards.
    Regards.
