PPR AND Button EVENT

Dear All
When I do exercises of OAF, I have one problem and can not deal with it. Any one can help me?
I make a page, there are a messageTextInput component and a button named help in the page.
I add a ppr to messageTextInput. When input many words seperated by comma(123,123), when cursor click any other places in the page except [help], I want to make the [help] button disabled. When input only one word, I could click the [help] to forward to another page.
But after I input many words into messageTextInput, and directly click [help], then the [help] come to disable and next forward to another page.
In order to avoid forward to another page, I add a error message in the help event.
Now The strange thing happened. Sometimes the message appears and the [help] is disabled. Sometimes the [help] is disabled but message does not appear.
Why this happens and how to fix it?

Somebody can help me with this:
<b>What i'm needing:</b> an 'END' button on a BSP, when the user click on this button just show an aswer box asking if the user wants to close the windows, in case to click yes close the current window and execute a business logic in the controller.
<b>What i have:</b> a button with the event onClientClick invoking a Java Script function which is showing the answer box and the event onClick which raise the event on the server side. The thing is if the user click on yes then i'm closing the current window and the server event never is triggered. This is not working !!!
Any ideas ? some sample code ?

Hi Armando,
The 'Yes' on the <i>Confirm dialog box</i> (Client Side Scripting) has to tell the application (Server side scripting) to call your METHOD XXX. This is done by passing querystring <i>exit=X</i> to the URL.
1. Comment onClick event of the button.
2. Modify the code the JS function of your End button as follows
   func_end()
//if no
// your original code
// if yes
document.location.href = document.location.href + '?exit=X';
3. Add following code to DO_REQUEST
IF REQUEST->GET_FORM_FIELD( NAME = 'exit' ) ne space.
*your method will be called only when there is an exit=x in the url
       call method XXX.
*set a page attrib as follows
       l_exit = 'X'.
ENDIF.
4. Add following code to your layout

How to Capture Button event on TrainBean navigation

Not able to capture button event in pageLayout Controller

I have the following layout

I am not able to capture the event fired by the button BTN1 in the controller of the pagelayout..... but if i set a controller at the messageComponentLayout iam able to capture the event.
what should i do in order to capture the button event in the pageLayout Controller

Tom,
Two things:
1)The button ur using is of type submitbutton or button?.In this scenario it should be button.
2)The correct coding practice is using:
if("QUERY".equals(pageContext.getParameter(OAWebBeanConstants.EVENT_PARAM)))
instead of
String _event = pageContext.getParameter("event");
if("QUERY".equals(_event))
because you never know if Oracle in any upgrade or patch change the value of the constant EVENT_PARAM in class OAWebBeanConstants.
3)If first point is followed by you, just match the exact event name in code and in property inspector for the button.

I read and do with sample at the View Controller Programming Guide . But when run it only view TabBar with title but haven't got any TabBarItem on it. I searched a few example about TabBar and i did, but i want do a form with a button then press on button it view a form with 2 TabBarItem on TabBar and press each TabBarItem will show correlative form page 1, page 2.

How to show a message in a form 'PL/SQL Button Event Handler'

We need validate the sal of an employee, and if it is bigger the value musts
not be inserted.
We trying a code like the one shown in the note 134312.1 'HOW TO PASS A
PARAMETER FROM A PORTAL FORM TO A STORED PROCEDURE' and it works in the insert event of the insert button (using 'PL/SQL Button Event Handler') and it works, but we need to show a message that says the data wasn't inserted. How can we do this?

Then just reset your flag.

how can I get value of form EVENT_NUMBER field in form at delete PL/SQL Button Event Handler?

But when I try to save this form and get message as
1721/15 PLS-00201: identifier 'EVENT_NUMBER' must be declared

Where did access to button events on page 0 go?

I have a simple menu system established for my applications where a select list item and a button are created on page 0.
If I choose to "Create a button in a region position" when I establish the button (let's call it "GO_MENU", I am given the option of choosing the button event for branches on the other pages in the Conditions for the branch under "When Button Pressed". So far so good.
However, if I choose "Create a button displayed among this region's items" when I establish the button, the button does not appear in the LOV for the "When Button Pressed" condition in the branches for any of the other application pages. What's magical about this choice that suppresses the availability of the button event from the other pages?

use condition type: "Request = Expression 1"
expression 1 = P0_GO_MENU
Why it doesn't show your page item button in the LOV? Because it's not a standard button anymore...
I don't have other information... someone from the ApEx dev team should be able to give more technical explanation.

Adjust position and size of textField and button...

How do I make the textField to be at the right of label and not at the bottom of the label ? Also how to adjust the length of textField and button ? The following form design looks ugly. Sorry but, i've never seen formula editor for altering position and size. If you know one please navigate me.
I guess you have updated formula editor beside "Lock size and position" - if yes its not right. There is only one editor beside 4 items and editor is actually for Suppress.
Anyways, A trick to change size a position is:
Create 4-5 copies (as many as you expect positions) of the text object. place each at different positions, right click, Format, Suppress and in formula editor for suppress write the formula: If your condition is true, Suppress=false, else true.
Position will not change but user will feel; for different conditions -position is changed

In Flashplayer, I can crossover mouse and keyboard events. In IrfanView I cannot. Can this be fixed?

My client uses IrfanView to play SWF files. Unfortunately, he does not use Flashplayer. In Flashplayer, I can crossover mouse and keyboard events with no problem. In IrfanView, the second I click a button, the keyboard events are disabled. Is there a fix?

Hi Ned. I may have posted this issue a bit early, but this problem is also happening in Flashplayer 10. It's not exclusive to IrfanView.
Here is something that I encountered during my testing, when I jump to scene 6 using the menu button, I have a play button to jump from one frame to the next frame that stops -- the keyboard events start working. But if all I am doing is jumping scene to scene with the mouse button, the keyboard events are disabled.
I feel as if the keyboard events only work if I am playing frames in the scene. And if all I am doing is jumping scene to scene using the buttons, the keys will disable.
I set up the mouse buttons inside a movieclip that all the scenes share. The mouse actionscript is in the movieclip. On the main timeline of each scene is an actionscript for the keyboard events, even though I had to change each function name.
I feel the actionscript is setup pretty simple. I just wish clicking the buttons would not disable the keyboard events. This may sound redundant, but the keyboard events do the same thing if you use the mouse buttons. It's just preference for the client even though he will need to understand that using the mouse buttons override the keyboard events. He doesn't really lose functionality.

Adding Scrollbar and buttons to Dynamic Text

Hello,
I am trying to connect dynamic text to scrollbar and buttons. I did tutorial and Lynda.com and practically pasted the code in with my file names and for some reason it does not work. It says I have a "Access of Undefined Property mask_mc" Did I need to create a variable for this? I didn't in the tutorial.
Right now I have the dynamic text loading successfuly in 2 different places and I wantd to add the scrollbar. I put the variables on frame 1 code and then I put the actually load code on the frame where it is needed.
Any suggestions?

Maybe I am asking this question wrong. Instead of making you try and figure out what's going on in my file what I really need to know is how you would take this code I am attaching and make it happen on another frame besides frame 1 and it doesn't appear on frame 1. I think this may help me understand a little better.
Also another way I was thinking to get around this would be to pull in an external swf into the spot where I want this text to go because I can make the scrollbars and external text work when it is the only thing going on in the movie. Would this be a bad way to set this up? and also SInce it is an external movie would I have maintimeline issues with mouse/scroller control?

Execute procedure in pl/sql button event handler

i have a demo application which consists of text boxes
eg : when i enter department no in first text box and click proc
it should display dname and loc in the below text boxes.
my proc is working fine in sql*plus but its showing errors in pl/sql button event handler.
any ideas

Handling Button Event

Hi all,
i am using a 'When-Validate-item' trigger in this i am doing a validation,
when user try to enter amount greater than the given amount(This is needed validation)
and also i am regenerating new lines(Creating new records when button pressed)
when i am regenerating i should not validate.
How to handle button event

The WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM Trigger fires once you updated a field. Be sure you raise
form_trigger_failure when amount is invalid. So, the cursor stays in field amount. You cant
leave this field until the amount is not valid.
