Pre-Populated Tabular Form

Hi Gurus,
I am trying to create a score card type form. The names of the teams are held in Table1 the Score Values (which are locked to predefined values) are in Table2.
I would like to have a form that takes the teams and creates a tabular form with the score shown in a dropdown list in a column. I have relationships that link the teams to the scores that they can have…
I have another table that will hold the teams and their scores for that date…
But I have no idea on how to create the tabular form, with the teams in 1 column that are fixed, and the scores in the next column… and then save those back to the TeamScores table…
+(If there was another team added I would want them added to the form dynamically and if there was a new score I would like that shown in the ddl list dynamically…)+

you said
the first column is a not editable text item
what type of item is it?
display? standard?

  • Pre-populated PDF forms and form submission

    Ok, I must be blind or something, I've searched for answers to this question, and see unanswered posts around the web, and if there are answers, they don't help. Perhaps if someone can answer this, it will help many others as well:
    I've read about how FDF/XFDF (the older method) can be sent to the client side, which will open the specified PDF file (as specified using the "/F" flag in the FDF) and load the fields values also specified in the FDF (using the /FIELDS and /T flags, etc.). I was recently told that XFA is the new format, but reading the docs is not clear to me.
    QUESTION: What is the proper method to pre-populate the FIELDS of a PDF form (created using LiveCycle Designer, or Acrobat, or whatever) that gets sent to a client browser? Changes to this pre-populated data gets re-submited via an HTTP post button (or whatever) back to the server.
    Note: At the server backend, say using C# in Visual Studio 2005, I can simply read the posted HTML form and store the fields values into a database; However, I need to be able to pre-populate these PDF forms with selected patient names, etc., so that healthcare officials can complete them more easily BEFORE they get posted back to the server. These pre-populated fields (some of them anyhow) must STILL be editable (not flatten to static text or something).
    Thanks.

    From your description, is doesn't sound like it has anything to do with the virtual enviroment. It does sound like the forms simply need to be Reader-enabled. This allows Reader to save filled-in forms, which is necessary when you want to email them. If all of your users can use Reader 11, the forms do not need to be Reader-enabled since it is capable of saving non-enabled form. To enable a form in Acrobat 10, select: File > Save As > Reader Extended PDF > Enable Additional Features

  • Opening & pre-populating a form from another form

    I am designing a form with Designer 7.0 whereby the user enters data into repeating subforms. This data is used to populate another form which repeats according to the number of instances created in the first form. I am wanting to create a button on the first form which the user can click so that the second form is opened and already populated with the data from the first form (which remains open). I am unsure how to go about this. Can anyone suggest some script which would get me started?

    You could also use OPEN_FORM(form_name,ACTIVATE,SESSION). This opens the second form in an independent session which will allow you to toggle between forms and commit on a single form only.
    Creating independent sessions is usually appropriate for forms that access different tables and independent logical transactions.
    The Oracle Forms Runform must be running with the Session option turned on when you use the session parameter in the OPEN_FORM call.
    Dpending upon your requirement, you may use OPEN_FORM or as Bogdan suggested use the RUN_PRODUCT with ASYNCHRONOUS option.

  • Populating Tabular Form Region Field With ITEM Data

    Hi,
    I have a date picker item, i want to be able to put that date in to all the rows in the field RENEWALDATE but ive tried to set that field to have the date item as default and it doesnt pick anything up. How can i do this?

    I sorted it in the end...I created a PLSQL process thats updates and sets the field RENEWAL to :P7_X, so when P7_X is submitted this process runs and updates all the rows displayed to populate the renewal date column with this value. I also intend on being able to select a particular trainer and populate all the rows with that one trainer user the same process.
    My situation is that certain staff have individual training sessions but some need to be in group sessions where by the trainer can update multiple people who say attended the Induction course on 12/04/2007, User selects the date and course presses retrieve and this brings back all staff on the course, the trainer can then pick his name, a renewal date and submit these, hence updating the field for every member of staff. Of course the update process is only assigned to a certain button and not on submit, so a trainer can amend a single individual out of the group and still submit the correct details. Pretty handy really

  • How to pre-populate ADF form with data?

    Hi Guys,
    Just wondering how you go about generating a pre-populated ADF form. Is it something that is done though the ADF designer and Business Objects? or do you have to create the Database tables seperatley and bind them into ADF and the workflow. Specifically I want this so a user is presented with a several drop-down lists when the initiator human task is run.
    Thanks,
    Ross

    Hi Ross
    1. Yes, in the very first place in the Database, we added all the data manually for all the Lookups. Its our own custom Schema. We are planning to provide some simple admin screens in a different WebApps to maintain these lookup values. Note that this is a different simple ADF App, with one EJB Layer and EJB Layer calling this database and getting/updating the values.
    2. ALSO, we have some lookup values that we get from totally another System/application like Oracle EBS Suite. For this, we already have a custom schema created. In this custom schema, we have some stored procedures created by the EBS database developers (they are more familiar with EBS). Now within our EJB layer, we use JPA architecture, call these stored procedures, and get all the lookup values and show in the TaskDetails page. These lookup values are maintained in EBS itself, so we do not have any custom admin screens within our SOA/BPM project.
    In conclusion, for our SOA/BPM applications, we have like 2 Databases. First database is for SOA Components where we run RCU comand and it has all SOA_INFRA, MDS, ORABAM schemas etc. The second database is for our custom schema specific to our application. Here we have our own lookup tables, custom tables and any cutom stored procedures that coonect to external EBS etc. From Weblogic console, we just create a Datasource for this second database and use that in JPA layer (persistence.xml file). For the first database, you already know that at domain creation itself, it will create all datasources also.
    Thanks

  • Excel import to create forms with pre-populated fileds

    Can/how do I create forms with pre-populated fields from an external data source like Excel?  Example:  I would like to create 100 forms with pre-populated name fields from an Excel document containing 100 names.

    Hi,
    Sorry, we don't currently support creating forms with pre-filled data.

  • Tabular form LOV's not populating correctly on edit from report

    My form has four LOV's and several text fields. Two of the LOV's will not populate (contains null value) from the report when i try to edit the row, however the other two Lov's populate correctly. Any ideas why i can't get the lov's to populate with the correct value from the report?
    each LOV is set to display null value as -- choose value -- with no return value. when i click edit from the report the form (page 2) comes up with the corresponding values from the report, but as i stated two of the LOV's contain -- choose value -- instead of the correct value from the corresponding reports row. All four LOV's items are set exactly the same 2 being static and 2 dynamic; one of each not populating right.
    any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi
    I've not used popup lovs in tabular forms for a few years now, but if your using the apex_item's to generate your tab form then I think you need to allow an idx number for the pass back value. e.g. (I have left idx value 2 for the pass back value)
    SELECT
    APEX_ITEM.POPUPKEY_FROM_LOV (1,deptno,'DEPT') dt,
    APEX_HIDDEN(3, EMPNO) en
    FROM emp
    I hope that helps

  • Pre-populated in user create form

    Hello there,
    I want to have user create form that displays some pre-populated fields in Access Manager. I have added the new fields and can see on the user create form but I want to populate these fields with the values from database or some other resource. Any idea how can this be done?
    Thanks in advance.

    There are various ways this can be done. One way is to use a back-end application to pre-populate a copy of the PDF with the data and then serve it to the user, but that is quite complex to implement. Another way would be to use parameters in the URL to do it. That can be done more easily with a script.

  • Form data pre population

    I have read through the numerous pre population posts but none of them addresses the requirement I have.
    I need to prepopulate a fillable PDF form with some information that will tie the person who downloaded this PDF.
    I understand I can use XDP to specify the data and within this specify the URI to the PDF template. That way when the user downloads and open the XDP it will launch the PDF and fill in the data.
    What I need is also the requirement that the user cannot update these prepopulated fields. The prepop fields/data is to be read only.
    Is there a way I can achieve this?
    Thanks
    Jim

    Jim,
    This isn't the right forum group for talking about PDF Forms. This group is
    for dicussion of the LiveCycle Data Services server which supports Remoting,
    Messaging and Data Management from Flex applications.
    Sorry we can't help.

  • Pre populating the database field when a user logs into web forms

    Hi,
    When my users log into the web forms application I want the database name field to be pre populated, how do I do this, I presume it can be defined in the config files ?
    Thanks in anticipation.
    SDG.

    Hi,
    I think u are refering to the username, password, database field (connect string)
    here. If this is the case then you can use LOGON(username, password||'@'||connectstring) procedure and hardcode the connect string.
    Best Regards

  • Track Multiple Pre-Populated Forms?

    I'll do my best to describe the situation, hopefully it is understandable.  I have created a form using LiveCycle.  This form is save-able in Acrobat.  This form has been filled out and saved for many different people; so I have the same form for each person, but each form has unique data already entered in and saved in the form fields.  My goal is to send out these different pre-populated forms using tracker, have people edit them as they need to, and then submit the edited forms back to me (via Outlook email).  My ultimate goal is to have the info that tracker makes available (the automatic list of who received the forms, who has returned them, etc.) available at a glance, so that I can track these forms easily.  Is this end result possible using pre-populated forms, or will I have to send each pre-populated form to the form recepient individually?

    I am sorry to report that Formscentral doesn't integrate with any external database and doesn't support the pre-population of fields. You might try looking at Adobe's Livecycle product for your solution.

    I have been pulling my hair out trying to figure out why my action page is not being pre-populate with the value that is passed from the radio button selection. Thanks for your reply.  The radio button was placed inside the anchor so that when the user selects that employee, it will pre-populate the from base upon the "Action" selected (i.e. Edit Employee and Delete Employee).  I quite sure this can be done with out using javascript.  I know that I accomplish this by using a drop-down list, but I would like to use the radio buttons instead because I would have to change my code.
    Here is the  code with the radio button:
    <tr bgcolor=#backgroundcolor#>
    <td><input type ="radio" name="EmployeeID" value="#employees.EmployeeID#"</td>
    <td><a href="http://localhost:8500/spiderbytes/assignments/employee_details.cfm?EmployeeID=#EmployeeID#"> #employees.FirstName# #employees.LastName#</td>
    <td>#employees.Title#</td>
                    <td>#employees.DepartmentName#</td>
    <td>#employees.PhoneExtension#</td>
                        <td>#employees.EmailAddress#</td>
    </tr>
    Here is are some ways that I coded my form action is coded:
    <form action="admin3.cfm" method="post">  OR
    <form action="admin3.cfm?EmployeeID =# EmployeeID#" method="post">

  • Populating a calculated value on a Wizard generated Tabular Form

    Hi
    I have created a wizard generated tabular form, the form works great by itself.
    However I also have a requirement to populate the column "Updated By" which will contain the :APP_USER and this needs to be done whenever any value is changed on the updatable columns on the tabular form.
    How can I achieve this functionality ?
    thanks in advance.
    regards
    Vivek

    Hi Vivek,
    There're different possibilities of doing it. By using a javascript function or a direct call.
    Whatever you'll chose, you'll probably need something like: $x("P1_ITEM").value = 'Your value';
    I believe you're using a tabular form, so you're items are called something like: f03_0001
    Hope that helps,
    Dimitri

  • Is there an example of populating a tabular form by selecting node in tree

    Hi, I am using apex 4.1. I have created a tree region, and would like to click on a child node and have it populate a tabular form. My tree attribute has the following query:
    select case when connect_by_isleaf = 1 then 0
    when level = 1 then 1
    else -1
    end as status,
    level,
    "NODE_LABEL" as title,
    null as icon,
    "SEQ_NBR" as value,
    null as tooltip,
    'f?p=&APP_ID.:900:'||:APP_SESSION||'::::P900_SELECTED_NODE:'||"SPECIES_QC_ID" as link
    from "#OWNER#"."SPECIES_TREE"
    where partner_id = :G_ISSUING_AGENCY and nvl("SPECIES_TREE"."DISPLAY_FLAG",'Y') <> 'N'
    start with "NODE_PARENT" is null
    connect by prior "SEQ_NBR" = "PID"
    order siblings by "NODE_PARENT"
    I am not certain how to set up the tabular form....are there any examples out there? thanks! Karen

    Thanks Tony,
    The application I have is a means of commercial seafood dealers recording what species they have purchased/landed. The page is designed with a tree listing all of the species and their sizes and then the tabular report of landings. The current application uses a collection to display the landings....I was trying to get rid of the collection and populate the table directly.
    thanks for getting back to me. Sounds like I will need to keep the collection....just looking for examples.

  • Problem in populating next record in Tabular Form

    on my Tabular form i have fields like :
    VOY_REF, VISIT_NUM, FM_PORT_CODE, TO_PORT_CODE
    when the user enter the visit number 2 i wanted to populate TO_PORT_CODE as 2nd visit's FM_PORT_CODE.
    my code is working fine when every visit been saved before entering the next visit.
    is there any way out without saving every row the user can enter all the visits and commit_form at the end?
    WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM Trigger
    IF :TT_VOY_SCHEDULE.VISIT_NUM > 1 THEN
         DECLARE
              FMPORT VARCHAR2(5);
              CURSOR C1 IS
                  SELECT TO_PORT_CODE
                     FROM TT_VOY_SCHEDULE
                     WHERE VISIT_NUM = :TT_VOY_SCHEDULE.VISIT_NUM - 1
                     AND VOY_REF   = :TT_VOY_SCHEDULE.VOY_REF;
         BEGIN
              OPEN C1;
              FETCH C1 INTO FMPORT;
              :TT_VOY_SCHEDULE.FM_PORT_CODE := FMPORT;
              CLOSE C1;
         END;
    END IF;

    basically i'm directly calling the TO_PORT_CODE value from the table TT_VOY_SCHEDULE. after commiting the Form only the data gets saved in the table. so when i call TO_PORT_CODE from the table it gives wrong detail.
    that why once i enter a row i save the data so the table get updated. then i enter the 2nd line the information populate correct.
    on your code you mean to say that i don't need to use cursor?
